Heard It in a Love Song is an anthology of over 30 authors bringing you LGBT+ stories about love in all its forms. I specifically read Harlow Layne’s contribution to this anthology, You Make It Easy.

It’s been ten years since Archer Pryde left the small town he grew up in and moved to Los Angeles. He is now twenty eight years old and owns his own very successful real estate business. Ten years ago, he fell in love with the boy that he thought he’d love forever, only to have his heart broken. Now Archer is back in town for his ten year class reunion. Will his ex even be there? Will he be able to face him if he is?

Judith (The United Kingdom)'s review of The Law of Inertia

Keaton Kyle made the biggest mistake of his life ten years ago by doing what he did. Now is his chance to make it right. Will Archer even listen to him? Will he give him a second chance?

I just have to give this five stars! In such a short amount of pages, Harlow managed to give us an entire story, including some sweet moments and some sexy ones. I loved the way she started and ended this. This is the first M/M story I’ve read of Harlow’s and I have to say, Wow! I’m impressed. Keaton and Archer are given a second chance at love. Will they get things right this time? Or is ten years worth of heart break too much to come back from? You’ll have to read this to find out!

Review for Sara Dobie Bauer's novella: We Are Going To Be Friends

ARC kindly received from the author. This review is in no way biased and is my honest opinion.

****Highly Recommended Friendship****

For fans of #BestFriendsToLovers #CutenessOverload #YA

This is the sweetest book I have read in a very long time.
I can't even with these boys.... and yes they are boys. and they are so freaking adorable.

What I loved about this novella...

1. The Characters...
Josh and Taylor have been friends since grade school. since then, they have been inseparable, finish each other's sentences, touchy-feely, obsessed with the paranormal and freaking adorable...
Oh I said that already? Well... they are #DontJudgeMe

Josh is straight... yeah right.. plays basketball and a math nerd. #MathIsCool

Taylor is out and proud, has the voice of an angel, a star football player, and very pretty... #StarInTraining

2. The Plot...
the novella seesaws between senior year, which is the present, and different times of the past where important things had occurred. Mind you, I wasn't annoyed by this layout... On the contrary, I enjoyed linking the past to the present right away. #GlimpsesInTime

3. The Romance...
Being YA, the romance and love story is pretty tame. I loved the innocence of that...
The characters don't do more than share a few kisses. But even with the absence of sexy times, their relationship didn't lack intimacy. The author used other methods to focus on, and those were so adorable, sweet, and utterly them.

What I didn't love?
This story is too short and I wanted more of these two boys because they are ADORABLE. I want to see them together as they graduate, go to college, and stay in love!

My first memories of LOVE are the feelings of comfort and safety in my mother's arms. And in those arms, she would sing to me. From that first experience with music, I have lived my life filled with intense, happy, sad, strong memories of love. All kinds of love, for all the many people in my world.

Music/song has been from the beginning of time a method to communicate and most times a way to say what couldn't be said out loud. It has been used in many wars, wars that have no countries, opponents who fear the beauty of love.

Because love knows no bounds, it just is. So with this in mind, over 30 authors came together to bring you LGBT+ stories about love in all its forms. All of the proceeds will go to charity.

As The Beatles said, All We Need is Love, so let's support this concept of free will and limitless love and appreciate these authors allowing us to enjoy their odes to love.

You Make It Easy is Harlow Layne’s contribution to the Heard It In A Love Song anthology.

Ten years ago Archer had his heart broken and Keaton made one of the biggest mistakes of his life. Now they are seeing each other for the first time after all those years. There is still so much chemistry between them, but there is also the pain of the past.

I loved the chemistry between Archer and Keaton. Their story was an emotional one that I wasn’t expecting, but they also had their sweet moments and some rather steamy moments. I loved how their story started and ended with letters. It was something fun and different and set the tone for the overall story.

I do wish their story was longer, because I just couldn’t get enough of them. I loved every single moment of Archer and Keaton’s relationship I didn’t want it to end.

You Make It Easy is a MUST READ!

I’m reviewing Harlow Layne’s “You Make it Easy”

I absolutely loved this story. This was so beautifully written and such a heartwarming amazing, second chance story!! Best friends to secret lovers to absolute heartbreak. My heart broke for Archer when his world was flipped upside down by Keaton’s letter. Thanks to a 10yr class reunion, they ran into each other again and rekindled their love. Always emotional, passionate, and fun with the absolute best HEA. I was given an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Reviewing Feelings by Helena Novak

“We’d burn for each other with smiles on our faces.
Better yet, we’d dance in the ashes of a world that would never want us together.”

Feelings is a perfectly executed snapshot of a chance meeting between two people and everything I want from a well-told short story. Novak is able to pack so much emotion and heart into Phoenix and Reina that it was easy for me to love them, and their story, right from the start. For me, Feelings was love at first read and I’d devour more if I was given a chance. It’s lyrical in its own right, drawing you in and staying with you just as powerfully as any love song.

Feelings is a story that hits all the right notes.

You make it easy by Harlow Layne.

I read this novella immeditely after finishing Away Game. It was good but since majority of the storyline is explained in Away Game I found I didn't love it as much as I probably would have if I had read it first. Still a good read though.

Review for You Make It Easy by Harlow Layne:
Wow! Harlow Layne knocked this one clean out of the park!! It was a quick yet very steamy read. It was emotional, hot and sweet. I immediately fell in love with Archer and Keaton and that love only grew as the story progressed. The only thing that would have made this book better is if it was longer, yeah I'm a tad greedy and wanted so much more of those sexy men.

"You make it easy" by Harlow Layne is a short male/male novella featured in this anthology.

It is a beautiful story about accepting who you are and being brave enough to make the decisions and take the steps to find happiness in life.

Archer and Keaton are high school best friends and love each other but Keaton’s insecurities and doubts about his sexuality force him to make decisions that will change his and Archer’s life forever. Both men are left lonely and broken-hearted and Archer is hurt as he is left out of Keaton’s life with just a letter as a goodbye.

10 years later the guys meet again, they have built their lives separately but the connection they had when young is still there. Would there be a possibility of a second chance for love between them?

This story is very short but is packed with emotion in every single page and a magnificent HEA. I hope the author is able to transform this novella into a full length story in future as it would make a beautiful and powerful book.

In this charity anthology "Heard it in a Love Song", I had the pleasure to read the novella, "The Night We Met" by Abrianna Denea.

Abrianna Denae creates her novella around Cruz and Wilder, who first met when about to turn 18. On the night these two met a connection was made that will carry these two miles and years away from eachother, but also have them connected on a deeper level too. Even after years, the connection gives these two a sense of freedom and spontaneity in their relationship that others may look for lifetimes to find.

"It's crazy. Impossible even. But, I think this is the boy I'm going to love for the rest of my life."

I highly recommend this novella, as well as this Author, Abrianna Denae for her mature dealings of the m/m romance between Cruz and Wilder. I also recommend this charity anthology for helping to bring support to the Black Trans Coalition Advocacy. There is also a playlist for all the songs chosen for this anthology.

Review for Can I Be Him by Faith Ryan:

This was a super sweet short taste of what is sure to be an amazing story about Vance and Jamison.

In such a short story you could feel the passion and love these two have for one another and the possibility of more.

I absolutely can’t wait to read how their relationship turns out.

I got the opportunity to read You Make It Easy by Harlow Layne in this anthology. I am a big fan of Harlow and continue to love her books. As this is my first MM book, I truly enjoyed it! I think this was definitely a good book for me to try out this genre and see if I liked it. You Make It Easy was swoon worthy. It was a reconnection of two men who were devastated after ones actions ten years ago. It’s not hard to adore both Keaton and Archer. They both are such strong characters. Putting them together is just the sweetest.

I really enjoyed reading You Make It Easy. I think others will too. If you like second chances or insta love stories, this book is for you. This one story makes me excited to continue and read the other author’s stories in this anthology.

I read You Make It Easy by Harlow Layne and let me tell you this was one of the best novellas I have ever read. It really got me in my feels right away for such a short story! I was crying 2 pages into the novella but I was only crying because it made me so happy and sad for these characters. You could tell from the very first page that these two were meant for each other! I just wish it was longer so we could get into more details of their love story! But for being a novella it gave me exactly what I needed to understand every bit of their love! I really look forward to reading the rest of the book with the other authors stories!

I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book.

Read We Are Going To Be Friends by Sara Dobie Bauer

Josh & Taylor, two people that are in love with each other, but one of them doesn't even know it.

I loved how this relationship bloomed from childhood. All of the sweet innocents of boys growing up and just having fun. The banter was the best and highlighted their lighthearted relationship. “Did you just agree to go to prom with me?”
“Yes. Want to watch TV?”

This story made me smile and it will be my go to when I'm feeling down and need to lift my spirits.

~ Carry You.

Review for Carry You novella by L.A. Marie.

💜💙💚💛❤️💕

Book review :)

Carry You by @author_l.a.marie

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Meet Cami and Harper, two beauties caught up in a caged fight with the society and traditions against everything they believe in. The story revolves around Cami's and Harper's roller coaster of a relationship.

Harper wakes up in a hospital with no knowledge of how she got there. She meets Cami, a bubbly and cheerful girl with whom Harper surprisingly share a deep bond of friendship and love.

Together they tell a tale of how love is everything that matters and believe and it will happen eventually.

If you're looking for some LGBTQ fast read with intense storyline mixed with beautiful language, Carry You is the right place......💜💜💜

PS: Cami & Harper are by far the most dynamic couple I've ever known.

I highly recommend it to anyone who likes bubbly, cheerful romance.

Archer and Keaton are everything! I loved their story so much. Best friends to lovers and second chances are a few of my favorite tropes. After things go astray when they were younger, Keaton leaves Archer with nothing but a letter. 10 years later they find each other again and it's as if they were never apart. Wished it was longer, it was so good!

You make it Easy by Harlow Layne is a beautiful second chance story that will leave you excited to read more of the stories in this anthology. Even with this being a very short story, Harlow gave you so much detail behind the lives of Archer and Keaton. You can feel the love they once had but is that enough after ten years of heartache to be enough to try again? This is a must read for anyone and everyone!!!

Review for Someone You Loved by TL Mayhew

Someone You Loved by TL Mayhew is a wonderful example how an author can pack so much punch into a short story so that you feel that you are not missing out.  I loved Charlie and Liam right away and then TL surprised me with something that I never saw coming.  So many emotions are spread throughout each chapter as you ride the highs and lows. When the ride stops, there is a promise of more with the famous words "TO BE CONTINUED. "

This is a review for Harlow Layne’s story, You Make It Easy. I loved Archer and Keaton so much. A relly good M/M second chance romance. Archer and Keaton were best friends and feelings developed between them but when Keaton was scared to come out to his family, he left Archer a letter and nothing more. Fast forward 10 years later, they meet up again at their high school reunion and the feelings that were there between them rekindled. Loved the raw emotions that flowed between them. Their romance was so heartbreaking and breathtaking all at once. Loved it!!!

🦄 IF YOU WANT LOVE: a Here Lies Novella by CL Matthews
RATING: 5+⭐️

This story crushed my soul 😭

In Here Lives a Corpse we met Cassidy through the eyes of his sister and fellow Emeralds.

In Here Lies a Saint we met Parris and learned about Vegas.
.
🦄 YOU MAKE IT EASY by Harlow Lane
Rating: 3.5⭐️

Cute second change romance between high school best friends who never truly got a chance to begin. Keaton wasn’t as comfortable with owning his sexuality as Archer and it cost them ten years they could have spent together.

Fast forward and we get to experience how getting out of your own head can lead to the happiness you never knew you’d be able to live. Sometimes your happiness is more important than upholding an ideal.
.
Now we get to experience everything Cassidy and Parris meant to each other, if only for 48 hours. This story was beautifully gut wrenching for we know how the story ends before it even starts.
.
🦄 RHYTHM INSIDE by Eloise East
RATING: dnf

This is a third person story that was not for me. I couldn’t get into the writing style.
.
🦄 WE ARE GOING TO BE FRIENDS by Sara Dobie Bauer
RATING: 3⭐️

Interesting, this story is also in third person but I was engaged and found the story entertaining.
.
🦄 CAN I BE HIM by Faith Ryan
RATING: pending confirmation next book’s release

⚠️ To be continued...Be on the lookout for their full story coming in 2021!!

You Make It Easy by Harlow Layne 💜💙💚💛🧡❤️

Oh my heart y’all!! It will never be the same after Archer and Keaton’s story. You Make it Easy is both a tear jerker of a friends to lovers romance and also a heartwarming second chance romance. While their story might be a relatively short novella Harlow packs all the heart and heat you could want in this perfect little package. You’d be shocked to learn this is her first go at a M/M romance, and she gives you everything you could want and more. 🌈

I don’t want to give too much detail away so... I will say in this story you have two gorgeous men, one who is comfortable in his own skin and completely comfortable with who he is. While the other struggles constantly, with who he is, and how he will fit into the world he was born to be brought up in. These struggles will lead one of them to make a decision that devastates them both setting them out on different paths only to reunite ten years later at their high school reunion. After ten years apart will they still feel the unstoppable same pull towards each other?

Will they both finally be at a place in their lives where they can finally be free to be together and be free to love who they love? Their story will take you on an emotional journey. You will sympathize and your heart will break. You will want so badly for everything to workout in the end. Harlow Layne packs so much emotional goodness in here.
Don’t worry though, she will also be “burning’ down the house” 🔥 cause she’s bringing the heat too! Holy hell!! I’m sweat y’all! Archer and Keaton had all that built up cause... 😱💀😱 So Good! Im gonna leave it at that.

JUST READ THIS!!

This is a must read beautiful story about forgiveness of past hurts, acceptance, being true to who you are, and being able to love who you love. This is sinful. It’s frustrating and sweet. It’s EVERYTHING!! This novella is guaranteed to melt your heart and your kindle. I promise you will be swooning for Archer and Keaton and begging for more long after you’ve finished their story. Because in the end LOVE triumphs over everything doesn’t it?! And you should be free to love who you love. ALWAYS!!🌈

I look forward to reading the rest of the anthology as I have pre-ordered it and will read the rest as I my schedule permits between obligations.🌈🌈

Man, do I love, love! When I got wind of this anthology coming out, I just knew I had to be a part of it! Who wouldn't want to read thirty different short stories about love of all kinds?

I did read the entire anthology, but here are my top picks!

Rhythm Inside by Eloise East
I need more Eddie and Topher! To help him for his bestie's upcoming wedding, Eddie joins a dance class. Topher is the instructor, and the instant chemistry is off the charts.

Fix You by Gabrielle G.
If you are new to Gabrielle G. books, then hold on. Fix You isn't your typical romance read. This short story broke me into pieces, and I need to know more. I can't give anything away but if you need a heart squeeze, then definitely take a peek at this one.

Table for One by JJ Harper
Ohhhh, Spencer, and Carl. Heat from the very beginning, this short story started hot and didn't let up. Table for One has an age gap, a bit of a friend's Dad vibe but a whole lot of fun. I didn't want this one to end, and I'm hoping we can get more of these two in the future!

I'm reviewing "Someone You Loved" by T.L. Mayhew in this Anthology. This is a quick read with ALL the feels. I was drawn in from the first chapter and just read through without stopping. Charlie and Liam's story is sweet, steamy, sad, and uplifting. I'll admit that I do not read many M/M stories, so each one I read feels like somewhat of a new genre to me. I really enjoyed this one. If they're all like this, then I will definitely look for more to read. T.L. Mayhew did a great job drawing me into Charlie and Liam's world and in bringing them to life as I read. I loved all the emotions jumping off the page into my heart. I'm looking forward to reading more of the stories offered in this Anthology. I'm hopeful they will be as beautiful as this one!

The great thing about anthologies is getting a taste of authors you know and love mixed in with introductions to some you haven't had the opportunity to enjoy. Heard it in a Love Song has over 800 pages of LGBT+ romance. Most of the stories are the perfect length for a quick afternoon or bedtime read, making this one a great choice for spreading the stories out over time, either reading straight through or picking and choosing depending on your mood. Naturally, I liked some stories better than others, but I honestly can't say that I disliked any of them. Each story brings us a bit of love and the tropes run the gamut, and in times like these, we can all use a few positive vibes, a few things to bring us some much-needed smiles.

Writings on The Wall by Leigh Kenzie -

I was really excited to read this short story because I was curious about Ignacio and Benjamin.

It started really quick and the whole story was just that, quick. I think the author wanted to write more, I have this feeling while I read it, that this story has more in it than it actually got. I wasn't disappointed, because it was good, but if I hadn't know these characters before, it wouldn't be this enjoyable for me.

Sweet romance without darkness, it was well written and both Ignacio and Benjamin were lovely.

Liked reading this story and it was a good distraction before the fourth book in the series, but now I really have a mighty NEED, I miss the others.

Watching You by Len Webster

Some of us will know who Molly is and I admit to not thinking very nicely of her ( I know I need to let it go). This little short lets us see where she is today and wait for it....... I like her. We see her group of friends and where her heart lies. Can I say how much I love Hunter just from that short tortured glimpse. I loved her courage when she takes that scary leap to admit not only her feelings to herself but to the other person. This may be a quick read but Len manages to inject real feeling and emotional attachment to the characters. My only issue is it's not long enough and I want more from all of them.
