Let’s start with what I liked about it: the characters, both main and side ones. These characters are probably the only reason I liked this story. A great, sassy, independent heroine, a sweet, alpha male main character, and such lovable side characters, especially Jack and Harrison (hero’s brothers).
The plot was good for the most part. I liked that they were some unexpected twists in it but I’m not that impressed by it. The thing that made me not enjoy this book that much was that some parts felt rushed. I liked that we got to see the hero and the heroine form a friendship even though they kinda hated each other in the beginning. However, when they got close and they kissed it felt really rushed, I didn’t see it coming at all. Also, in my opinion the time when the heroine admitted that she was in love with the hero was too soon, I didn’t feel that they were at this point of their relationship, so I wanted those parts to be more well-developed.
One more thing that disappointed me was that there’s no epilogue. The ending chapter was good, but I don’t consider this to be an epilogue. To be fair, it’s not marked as one and we’ll probably see more of the characters in the next books in the series, but I always want to read an epilogue with a HEA.
Overall, it wasn’t a bad read but I would have enjoyed it more if some parts were more well developed. I’m not sure if I’ll read the rest of the books, on the one hand I want to but on the other the writing style is not for me. 3 ⭐
Meh.
