About this ebook

One geology intern who desperately needs to be rescued from a hostage situation. One billionaire who has the capability to save her life. Two people who are inexplicably drawn to each other even though they have almost nothing in common.

Although this story is part of The Billionaire's Obsession series, it is the first book of the California Billionaires and can be easily enjoyed as a standalone billionaire romance.

Taylor

Just when I thought I was destined to die in a foreign country after being kidnapped while doing a geological exploration, a mysterious rescuer shows up just in time to save my life.

Unfortunately, my liberator also happens to be the co-CEO of Montgomery Mining, my employer, and a billionaire with an attitude.

At first glance, Hudson Montgomery seems like the quintessential gorgeous billionaire with plenty of money to burn, and no concern for anyone but himself.

The arrogant billionaire I could handle, but I wasn't quite so sure how to deal with the amazing guy I discovered once I looked past the superficial exterior. The one who stayed by my side as I recovered mentally and physically from the trauma of being a hostage.

There was so much more to Hudson than just billions of dollars, a prestigious last

name and a very handsome face.

When the white-hot chemistry between the two of us finally explodes, do I trust the man I've come to know, or do I accept that Hudson Montgomery is the same guy the rest of the world sees?

When I started this book I did not know much about the story or even read the blurb, but reading many of this author’s books I knew I would be taken on an emotional journey. Hudson and Taylor’s story was definitely that and so much more. Taylor had endured so much as a child, so much loss, but with that and with the help of a kind and gentle man, she gained incredible strength. She embodied this strength and resiliency as a kidnapped survivor in her adult life. Her rescuer was none other than Hudson Montgomery, the billionaire co-CEO of Montgomery Mining, where she worked as an intern. I absolutely loved Taylor and Hudson’s story. When Hudson and his brothers found out about the hostage situation with their employees, they jumped right into action to set up a rescue mission. Unfortunately they did not find out until over a week later so much damage was already done. But Hudson was determined to rescue and heal this woman he was instantly fascinated with just by her picture. And Taylor was just as fantastic with Hudson, she is so grateful for everything he had done for her but her feelings for him go beyond that. She sees the Hudson that no one even tries to see, he is more than the cranky, bossy, workaholic billionaire he portrays to everyone. I loved her so much for that. They gave each other exactly what they needed. Billionaire Undercover is book 15 in this fantastic series, I can not wait for more.

It's clear this author has some very enthusiastic fans. And with a prolific catalogue to keep all those fans happy. For my part (and I say this feeling very apologetic to the author who I'm sure works hard on their books) I purchased this book at a significant discount, and probably would have rated this as a 2 star if I had paid full price. The premise is interesting, but the characters just fell flat to me. I was also highly distracted by the writing style. An extraordinary use of italics as emphasis (if that had been dropped by about 90% the reader might be more able to let the story flow in their mind), compounded by a tendency to use exclamatory language ALOT, to the point that it just lost impact. And then the sheer number of pregnant... pauses. Topped off with a fair peppering of casual crass language and a tendency to call women "females", it just all compounded into a challenging book to get through unfortunately.

Finally more Montgomery brothers. Hudson is a Montgomery miner brother but previous to him and his brothers taking over there father’s company they were all in the military and finally settled in with Last Hope which is a private hostage rescue. Taylor is a intern for the Montgomery company and wants to be a geologist and life’s not been easiest for her so far but while on a trip for company Taylor is kidnapped with her friend and her boyfriend. So much goes on in this book, you get a better insight into Last Hope and the people that are involved. I love how Hudson and Taylor develop there relationship especially with Hudson awe inspired by how Taylor survived such awful situation. Absolutely loved J. S. Scott and her books can let you escape into a fantastic book world where you just forget what’s going on in the world and troubles in your life.
