- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 August 2020Wow, I was expecting a lot from a Vegas marriage story, but I was certainly not expecting the stunning, hauntingly beautiful, emotion filled love story that is One Little Dare.
The story begins with Tori heading off to Vegas for a bachelorette weekend, but as she is about to leave, a family drama, a familiar drama that Tori has had to pick the pieces up from before, begins to unfold. Unprepared to deal with it at that moment, she leaves her troubles behind. Tori is known to never refuse a date, naked streaking, re-enacting the Harry Met Sally scene in front of her parents, telling a stranger she loves him, but the craziest one to date is marrying a stranger.
Liam is back in his hometown of Vegas for the funeral of his best friend, someone who he harbours a lot of guilt over for not being there for and letting his own sorrows and insecurities keep him apart from. His job as a risk assessor means Liam sticks to the safe and boring, never taking chances, but when the beautiful stranger who told him she loved him the day before, kisses him out of the blue and then suggests a marriage dare, it’s the one risk Liam jumps in to heart first.
I loved both Tori and Liam, both with painful secrets in their pasts, they are drawn together, monumentally feeling comfortable enough to share things that even their best friends don’t know. Tori tells Liam from the start that she can’t give him more than the week, she lives in Idaho and has no desire to be vulnerable enough to fall for a man. Liam is agreeable in the beginning as he is drawn to Tori like a magnet and will say whatever she wants him to to just be able to be with her, but as the week draws to a close, both of their hearts are irreparably changed.
Liam and Tori’s story seems to be a short one from the outset, just one week, but with the heightened emotional elements and the amount that happens during this time, their relationship that should be covered by months, doesn’t feel like it’s on the fast track it is.
I immensely enjoyed this story, there was so much more here than just Tori and Liam finding each other, it’s a beautiful, heartbreaking love story, jam packed with feeling. I can’t recommend enough, to grab your copy now!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 4 April 2024Both have a lot going on and take a risk. What started out as a date became so much more.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 February 2024What a beautiful way to say goodbye to a best friend but to also find a wonderful new partner is awesome
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 30 July 2020I loved this!!! But what I thought was going to be light and fluffy was actually nothing of the sort. Yes there is some great humour and light moments but there is a very moving story running throughout... one of loss, regret and acceptance.
Tori is the fun daredevil.... she always takes the dare... her friends think it is because she is a thrill seeker and a joker but that is so not the case.
Liam’s life is safe and sensible... he learned very quickly, at a young age that life isn’t all roses. He had to suddenly become an adult so he is more inclined to be careful than a go getter.
One little fun dare and a week of unexpected events brings a friendship neither of them would have believed but both of them so desperately needed. For Tori to finally take truth and for Liam to be able to step up for someone else.
The characters are great, the dialogue is just right and I will be watching closely for the next in this stand-alone series of books.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 July 2020One Little Dare is a fast paced, fun and well written romance. Liam and Tori have great chemistry and I loved them individually and as a couple. This feel good story is just the pick me up I needed and I'm so happy I discovered this series!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 July 2020This book did all kinds of things to my heart. I loved how even though nothing much really happens in it, the subjects that are talked about go really deep and are thoroughly dissected.
I really felt for Liam and his friends and their loss. The way they celebrated their friend’s life was amazing and even though I don’t, thankfully, have experiences like that myself, I did feel it rang true. Knowing how much Liam has lost, I do feel it was meant to be that himself and Tori met. So the fact they connected and fell in love so quickly (this probably isn’t considered a spoiler, I guess, as that part of the book was pretty damn predictable) wasn’t too far fetched knowing what they were both going through and how much they needed it.
I loved the whole truth or dare part of it. Especially all of the wedding scenes, made my heart so happy.
On another note… That bitch Katy, though. Wanted to strangle her. Love it when a book has villains. Same goes for Vince, ooft. Everyone mourns differently, but he was way out of line. It definitely added the needed intrigue into the story, though. As even though there was obvious pressure when it comes to Tori and Liam and how things would evolve after the week ends and Tori has to leave, it wouldn’t have been enough to keep the book insteresting. So I’m glad something else was added.
I really felt the slow burn of it all as well, the chemistry between the characters was palpable. And the raunchy scenes were oh so enjoyable.
All in all, it was a wonderful easy read. Even though it dealt with some tough subjects, it was a joy to read and really heartwarming. I do hope there’s more to come about these characters 🙂 and as this was my first book by Barbetti, I’ll definitely seek out her other works!

ThidVegas wedding story is much better than could be expected. Tori and Liam are complex characters and together they are going through a tough but also excellent week.

4.0 out of 5 stars Unexpectedly deep
This book surprised me. From the description I expected it to be light, and fun, and simple. But it was much more complex and layered than I could have imagined. And by the time I realized that the characters were going to have depth, and that this book was not going to be an easy-breezy read, I was sucked in. I think it takes a lot of talent for an author to be able to take such a predictable trope like a fake marriage and turn it into a book about friendship and family and honesty. And what really impressed me is that the story takes place over the course of a week, and I wasn’t surprised that the characters got to know each other so well or so honestly, or even so painfully in such a short period of time. This book was unexpected in the best way possible.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome!
This is the first book I have read from this author and let me say that this story was awesome! I love the main characters especially the h’s character development. The dialogue was witty. The friendship scenes were touching without being cliché. The smexy scenes was steamy. I even like the secondary characters and hope to read their stories especially Seth’s. I can’t wait to read more from this author.
