The sins of the father became those of the son.
Wrath for taking what was precious to me.
Greed for the lives that were mine to kill.
Sloth for the destruction against their will.
Lust for revenge and the blood I'd spill.

Envy for the spirits I had yet to take.
Pride for the birthright I'd soon fulfill.

One look.

One girl.

WOW 🤯
I really didn't know what to expect from El Diablo II.
We all loved Alejandro Martinez (even when we wanted to kill him LOL) and
i was kinda scared that resurrecting the Devil through his son, could have been a disaster, BUT i've should known Monica Robinson never dissapoint her readers😏😏
Cruz Martinez stole my heart 🖤🖤🖤
He's been protect from his dad past life, but the sins of the fathers always hit the sons.
An awful event force him to show his true nature, the one that is so alike his dad's, and it tie forever his life with Sienna's.
Cruz is ready to set the world on fire if it means keep safe the ones he loves. He's ready to give up his life to protect his family.
The story is packed with action and adrenaline; it glued your eyes to the pages.
It's a slow burn, and i mean really slow, yet it didn't bother me 'cause there were so much feelings: love, rage, guilt, repentance, adrenaline, fear...
There is just one thing i "don't like" about this book and it's the fact that Cruz & Sienna story got a little lost in the chaos of events affecting the life of the Martínez: i wanted more about their story, their feelings, about just the two of them.

El Diablo II is a Mafia Romance featuring Crucifixio aka Cruz Martinez. Cruz is Alejandro and Lexi Martinez's son. Alejandro (the original El Diablo) fought hard to protect his family and keep them out of danger. However, one fateful night Cruz and his sister Adriana land themselves in the center of a dangerous and deadly game. Because Cruz was distracted by a beautiful woman, Adriana was taken and now the family must come together to get her back. Sienna Luciano is no stranger to the Mafia World. Just a few weeks shy of her 18th birthday her father decides to use her to strengthen the mafia families by giving her to Cruz. Sienna is a beautiful bride and yet, inside she is a hurricane of fury over being forced to marry El Diablo's Son.

"I'd love more than anything to prove to you how much you own every last part of me.
Told in multiple POV, El Diablo II is a reunion of sorts with the Martinez Family. El Diablo released in 2016 is by far one of my favorite Mafia Romance reads so having the opportunity to reunite with this crew was something I have been looking forward to for quite some time. Cruz is quite captivating and his love and loyalty for his family is certainly a trait that he learned from his father. The plot is full of action and suspense and as always M. Robinson creates a world full of powerful characters who aren't afraid to kill or be killed to protect the ones that they love.
"The push. The pull. The passion."
Overall, El Diablo II would appeal to readers looking for more of the Martinez Family. Although I enjoyed Cruz, the connection between Sienna and Cruz can never compare to that of Alejandro and Lexi. It has been a while since I have read M. Robinson and even though this isn't my favorite Robinson Read it was nice to be back in El Diablo's World.

Web-Photo-Editor "One look. One moment. One girl. Rendered me completely speechless. She was all it took for me to lose my… Focus. "

'El Diablo 2' is a standalone Mafia Romance by the best selling author M.Robinson. Told in dual Perspectives ,this book had all the devilish feels!!

Ladies, this is my warning to you , if you though Monica had wrecked you through Alejandro , then none of you are prepared for his son. Cruz is everything his father is and so much more. He has to be one of the most ruthless characters ever!!

" For once, the Devil inside of me was satiated. From my angel in my arms. "

Cruz and Adriana are the children of Alejandro Martinez , also known as El Diablo. A few years ago ,he faked his death in order to escape his life of crime and to give his children a better future. But things like this do not stay in the past. Adriana is the baby girl of the house. She is the most sheltered one in the house and yearns for freedom. Cruz loves his sister a lot and has been tasked by their father to always protect her. A chance meeting with a spitfire who gives him sass, puts him on a different path altogether. Sienna was Cruz's perfect match in every way and I loved the way they both interacted with each other !

" Because in order to meet The Devil I needed to say goodbye……to my father. "

The storyline of this book was perfection and I was hooked right from the beginning!! I devoured this in one sitting and I challenge you , that you will not be able to stop reading this book , once you start!! Cruz and Sienna are perfect in every way and in typical M.Robinson fashion , this author gave us such amazing twists in this book , quickly turning it into one of my top reads of this year!!

“ Just because you act like a dick, Cruz, doesn’t mean it’s going to make yours any bigger.” He grinned. He had the audacity to fucking grin at me.

A definite recommendation to all the mafia lovers! Get read to meet the devil's son , you all! I couldn't put this book down once I started!! One of the most marvelous reads of 2020!

Let’s cut to the chase ok? For me, this is hands down ONE of THE BEST book by M.Robinson..it’s a very very very slow second to her No where to Go series. Having said that, it also ties in with El Diablo.
I had high hopes with El Diablo II and it delivered.

El Diablo II is scary and so bloody good.

The teasers said “The only thing worse than the Devil is his son” and boy isn’t that the truth.
Cruz Martinez is sinfully good…utterly tempting and oh so hypnotising.

I can’t help comparing El Diablo and El Diablo II but they were equally AMAZING. But for me, the biggest difference between Alenjandro and Cruz is that, it’s easier to see the humanity in Cruz. He is the perfect culmination of his mother and father. The side of his mother shines through just as bright as his father’s darkness. And let me tell you….It’s a sight to behold.

Sienna is a ball buster and I lived for it.
When she said, “I won’t give my soul to anyone who doesn’t deserve it, so stop expecting me to.
You have to earn it. Simply because I’m worth that much.” I legit cheered for her.

Cruz’s possessive affection is AH-Freaking-MAZING! When he said,

“I’ll never lay a hand on you. Not in anger. Not in vengeance. Not even with my fucking temper. Your father and I are a lot alike, except, I won’t beat a man within an inch of his life for coming onto you in my presence, Sienna. I’ll put a bullet in between his fucking eyes. You’re mine.”
I fell head over heels in love with Cruz.
Sienna and Cruz’s connection is a push and pull of angst that we love to read about.

I can’t believe I’m saying this again but I LOVED El Diablo and I wanted the same kind of love between Cruz and Sienna in El Diablo II.
When Cruz tells Sienna that “ The marriage my parents have is nothing like what you experienced with yours. The sun rises and sets with my mother. My father worships her, he has since the second he laid eyes on her. All my life I’ve heard about their love, from his mouth and hers. That is how I feel about you, Sienna. From the moment I saw you walk into that room, I was yours.”
And BOOM! There going my heart being completely obliterated.

We all call M. Robinson ‘The Queen of Angst’ and this book just proved just how well deserved she is of this title.

El Diablo II is A MUST READ.

I absolutely loved El Diablo I; I loved everything about it and in it, from the plot to the characters, from its starting to its every single word leading to its ending. So naturally, I had very high expectations from this book and that was my very err.

In hindsight, if I had toned down my expectations and not kept looking for the greatness the first book of the series was, I would not be disappointed. So my verdict is that if you are going to read this book, don't go in with very high expectations.

It felt like this book was an extended epilogue to its first part because the characters, Cruz and Sienna, just seemed to be overpowered and overshadowed by Lexi and Martinez. There was no character development of their own. Further amplifying this point, out of nowhere, the reader gets a chapter from Alejandro's POV. I had trouble shifting my perspective and putting myself in his shoes just for the sake of one chapter.

Lastly, there was not much plot development when it came to Cruz and Sienna's story. Half of the book focuses on Martinez and the other half tries to create hype for Adriana's story. In between these two ends, Cruz and Sienna do not get any limelight of their own.

Genre: Romantic Suspense
Type: Standalone Book 2 from The Devil series
POV: First Person - Dual
Rating:

Cruz Martinez had a legacy to uphold. Protected from the truth since he was young, he wanted to be his own person and embrace what’s in his blood. But his choices would change the course of his life and dragging Sienna Luciano in it whether they prepared to face it or not.

The characters were a lot younger than I expected and I liked that fact. I love his name Cruz and I liked both of them in the beginning but their fighting was repetitive and it got tiring by a certain point.

“Don’t become my enemy, Sienna. I’ll kill for you. I’ll die for you. But don’t think for one fucking second that I’ll protect you…from me.”

The storyline came with a promising premise. However, I felt the plot progression was too slow for my liking. It wasn’t until almost the last 20% that something significant happened. I also felt most of the time, Alejandro inadvertently stole the spotlight from Cruz.

El Diablo II is a story of embracing inner demons. This book can be read as a complete standalone.

You know sometimes somethings should remain.
Untouched.

This review contains 💥spoilers💥 that didn’t hidden cuz’ I think everybody should know what they getting into. No, it’s not about the main subject about the story but very important and critical issue women get face to face every day all around the world.

The thing I can’t ignore is killing a pregnant woman (of a side bad guy). Yes I loved very edgy books, twisted kinkies n’ worst fantasies and they involve humiliation, abuse, manipulating but maybe trying to be closer to mafia drill or convincing the readers that cruelty really runs in hero’s blood, idk, this is not acceptable. I hate keeping things away from reality (if it’s not a chick-lit lol) .
And if you think I am a pseudo feminist who actually is a pervert, let me be pervent because God help me I can never call myself feminist.

Let’s talk about other things. There are still minor 💥spoilers💥.

Let me cut it short, the last 30% was a disaster. I can bet this part written by someone else, someone who love over the top drama and extragrated twists and as most seriously, prolonging the fucking peripeteia.

Moreover while ‘The-bad-guys’-show-time, they, Diablo and junior Diablo were begging
(they really call it show time, I guess author tried to make it like less neefy but made it worse), the second bad guy takes action and helps them (who became a twisted couple with Ari)
I’m the who complain about making cliché the unraveling moments of mystery and cliffhangers. Well, this was not cliché but tasteless. It took too fucking long.
Too long that I keep rolling my eyes instead of being on the edge.

And add this as well a pain in the ass heroine Sienna who is bitching around and punishing hero for her the world she born and blaming him for her father cheated on her mother and not caring another kidnapped woman (who is hero’s sister, Ari), and telling him criminal/ mafiaso/ murderer and you know what, when they met he didn’t even have blood on his hand. Or getting jealous about other women. Or falling for him without spending time with him except arguments, it’s mentioned that months passed. And all her excuse is she was afraid to lose someone she loved (I understand your mother’s death is very traumatic but dis smth else girl).

Lexi (his mom) and even Cruz the hero warned her as ‘if you push hard, it will push, harderʼ. Yet he never tried to seduce her or force her into something (like sleeping in same bed, we read this type of ‘possessive’ hero before and we loved so don’t start bla).
She talks too much and I don’t care if she is just turn into 18. I’m not saying she should be obedient but their arranged marriage was about to save Ari which decided three months after they met and Ari’s abduction. Yeah he did wanted her, told her in the first place but the arrangement was not for a horny bastard’s dick.
Instead of she said “You wanted to punish me! You think it’s my fault that you left her!”
Can you fucking believe that!

And if you wondering what happened wedding night (she is Italian, the bloody sheet thing) he cut himself, AFTER she provoked him to ‘rape’ her, and her reason is to have a justification to hate him.
I can’t believe that…

IMO Cruz is a pure saint cuz’ I would kill Sienna.
And no one could call me cruel.
They would thank me.

He is 21 btw. It would be ridiculous if they have an age gap like his parents (#1 book) but I don’t know how many times I repeated myself about the ‘boys’ who ‘play’ mafia ‘man’ under 25-27 is looks like a fucking joke. Just come on. I’m not taking about being cruel and killing recklessly, but u know, it’s the power and testosterone (figuratively) and façade you radiate.

I would give you very promising quotes and excite you, because he is fucking heart breaker romantic like his father with a humorous attitude. He was telling ‘I’m yours’ and keeping himself ‘you are mine’ kind of boy. But I can’t. The last 30% and fucking heroine ruined everything.

The first book was hell of a reading. I fell to pieces, I never stop crying and my heart was in my mouth all time. In here author herself compared Cruz with Alejandro, son with father, and called him El Diablo too. This makes the book boring. Reading again and again same ‘I’m the devil, I belong the hell’… ok I got it!

in conclusion, I should not read.

𝑅𝐴𝑇𝐼𝑁𝐺: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.5

This was long overdue. It's been 4 years since i have been waiting for this one. LITERALLY.

El Diablo was my first ever mafia read, when i started reading El Diablo i had no idea that i'll never be the same. I loved Alejandro Martinez and Lexi with my whole heart, i mean it was one of those books that no matter how many years goes by you'll always remember. Always. So when i heard that another Diablo was emerging from hell, i was over the moon.

Cruz and Adriana Martinez were always protected and sheltered from the past of their father, El Diablo. Whispers and rumors always followed wherever they went, whispers about the infamous Diablo. But the sins of the father became those of the son. Both their worlds are about to turn upside down and everyone will get to meet El Diablo. But at what length would Cruz go to protect his family? Will he be the good son or will he fulfill his destiny? After all he is the son of El Diablo.

𝑰’𝒎 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒐𝒏 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑫𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒍.

Sienna is a strong, determined woman, a Mafia Princess. She always hated what the Famiglia stood for, since her mother died in front of her eyes she knew that the only way to survive is to run. However, all her plans went out of the window when she was forced into an arranged marriage to none other than Crucifixio Martinez.

I loved this book. I loved Cruz and Sienna but i loved Alejandro and Lexi more. To see the way he still loves her even after all these years made me cry. It was really beautiful to see Alejandro and Lexi as parents, to see El Diablo be the perfect father for his kids.

There's only one thing that bothered me in this book, it's the fact that Sienna and Cruz's story got lost in the midst of everything. Don't get me wrong, i loved, no I ADORED seeing more of Alejandro and Lexi and everything else, but somehow i felt like Cruz and Sienna were the secondary characters in the book. I wanted more of them, just more.

This book felt like a walk down memory lane, it was beautiful and nostalgic and just Perfect.

Here's some of Alejandro's words:

“Time stood still while the whole world continued on without me. I willingly surrendered, allowing one of the last memories I had.”

Cruz Martinez has been his sister’s protector ever since he could remember. At only twenty one years of age he knew there was more to his father’s demands and commands but he really didn’t truly know until now.

“I never understood until this very moment why my father always wanted us to stare into his eyes. They were the windows to a person’s soul I’d own.”

Sienna Luciano grew up in a family of wealth and luxury but everything comes with a price, her freedom. She promised herself that once her eighteen birthday comes she will walk away and never look back.

I am going to try to keep this review short. I was not invested on any of the characters like I wished, I felt the relationships and connections lacked development to the point that I couldn’t connect. Unfortunately this book just didn’t work for me, at times I was confused who the main character was the son or the father.

El Diablo II is a story about finding your true self. This is the second book in the series; however it can be read as standalone.

At 21 years old, Crucifixio “Cruz” Martinez is indoctrinated into El Diablo’s world and all irrevocably shifts. As he vows to protect his family, layers of secrets and years of violence threaten to take hold at any moment and Cruz is put to the test.

“My heart turned cold. My soul black. My future not promised in any path.”

From the beginning, there are different dynamics at play. With Cruz and Sienna, there is a push/ pull between them and both have reasons for their actions. As Cruz is seeking answers, the path he takes cannot be cleansed and this leads to more consequences.

For me, I didn’t connect with the characters and the development left too much open to assumption. The latter part of the book offered much more action, and one particular character was a highlight.

El Diablo II is a romance suspense with a slow burn. This book would appeal to those who want to be reacquainted in the world of the Martinez family.

Ohhhh dayummmmm. This book was magnificent.

M Robinson knocks it out of the park with El Diablo. I fell completely in love with Cruz Martinez. The son of El Diablo was destined to walk in his father's shoes and the circumstances that lead him to becoming El Diablo are tragic and make for a hell of a romantic suspense.

There wasn't a single moment that I wasn't fully engaged in this book. So completely consumed that there's one thing about this book that didn't even register until the end and when I realized what that was my immediate reaction was DANG M Robinson is a G !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She entertained me, thrilled me, had me swooning over a "villain", she kept me at the edge of my seat and even at the end she had me not wanting to leave these characters or this story.

I can safely say that El Diablo II may just be my favorite read from M Robinson and that's saying a lot considering I have pretty much every single one of her books sitting on my bookshelf.

This is an absolute MUST READ.

THE REVIEW FOR THE BOOK EL DIABLO II BY M.ROBINSON.

GENRE: CONTEMPORARY DARK MAFIA ROMANCE.
AUTHOR:M.ROBINSON.
TYPE: BOOK #2 OF THE DEVIL SERIES BUT CAN BE READ AS A STANDALONE.
POV:DUAL POV...FIRST PERSON.
MY RATING 5 PLUS STARS...

Kill or be killed. Fear or be feared. Angel or demon. I learned that night that it all went together. Like heaven and hell.

"EL DIABLO II" is the second installation in The devil series.
I would recommend you all to read book #1 El Diablo to get a better understand of this world.
LIKE FATHER...LIKE SON....OR IS HE WORSE???

It has been 20 years since El Diablo has buried his real identity for the safety of his wife and children. But one circumstance involving his Son Cruxificio Martinez and daughter Adriana Martinez lead him to rise back from his death. Crux has always know his father was hiding something but when he finally got to know the devil behind his mask...It was too late. Damage has been done and now he has to prove everyone that the blood of the devil himself runs through his veins. He will cross any line to protect his family. But what if there is a more threatening person scheming to breakdown his family due to the sins of the past?

“You think you can meet The Devil and not be burned by the flames of his Hell?”

If you guys have already read El Diablo, you must know that Alejandro has cross every line and commited so many sins just to protect his family. If you think the devil was the worse then think again...This spawn of the devil will change your mind and wreck your world with his presence.

I love the couple Sienna and Crux...there was so much hate between them... but there is a thin line between hate and love...

Our connection was brought on by darkness and still, she became this beacon of light in my dark life.

Sienna has always despised the Mafia world...Being the mafia princess she has gotten used to it but she has no intention to exist there. But she was always bounded to this world...first through her father...now through Crux.
The writing of this book was just amazing and awe-inspiring. Author . Robinson writes in such a manner that every scenes give you goosebumps and every new twist just leaves to gaping at your kindle. The sassy witty banter between the main couple was so funny that I was seriously had a goofy smile on my face. Crux may be the Resurrected El Diabl0 to the whole world but Sienna knew how to make him kneel . A really strong and fascinating character she is.

Don’t become my enemy, Sienna. I’ll kill for you. I’ll die for you. But don’t think for one fucking second that I’ll protect you…from me.”

Overall, there was nothing left to wish for in this book...It was a really intense read with all the family drama, unexpected twists and turns. I am left wrecked reading this book and now I can't help but wait for the next book in the series. It really surpass all my expectation....
Really...What a ride it was!!!

Also there is a glimsp of other characterROMEO from her upcoming book MAFIA CASANOVA....co written by Author M.ROBINSON AND Author RACHEL VAN DYKEN.

Think extreme of passion and angst. Imagine overwhelming suspense and paralyzing twists. Expect emotions those will tear you apart and secrets those will make your heart stop. Now multiply everything by million times. And M. Robinson delivered it with ease and style in El Diablo II. BE READY TO GET YOUR MIND BLOWN. In a spectacular way.

Crucifixio aka Cruz Martinez is son of his father but Alejandro Martinez has tried his best to keep him away from the darkness. But then his sister is taken and the devil refuses to stay in background. Everyone fears this resurrected version of El Diablo. Except Sienna Luciano. The mafia princess. The light in Cruz's hell. The sassy angel who may as well end up as being his destruction.

It's hard to capture the lethal beauty of Cruz Martinez in my simple words. You have to experience it yourself. It was such a visceral reaction each time he killed, kissed or just reacted intensely. M. Robinson converted him someone with blood, bones and a dark heart rather than just a fictional character. And I think that's the greatest achievement of any author. When the person comes alive and the reader can actually feel him. I literally couldn't breathe and my heart was beating wildly when the dark, brutal, reckless, ruthless, merciless Cruz came into play. And the same heart had butterflies and palpitations for entirely different reason when he was unleashing his charm and seductive powers. And the same heart ached for his heavy heart with so much burden. He wanted to be like his father but this life stripped down his humanity. Seriously..how did M. Robinson write someone so perfectly flawed? Alpha. Tortured. Dominating. Vulnerable. Arrogant. Twisted. Deviant. Torn. Man of every romance reader's dream!

And to match the devil, M. Robinson created an angel with so much spirit and fire. She is beautiful and sweet and kind but at the same time she is fierce and somehow broken. She just wants love and loyalty and peace. Sienna absolutely loathed Cruz and the mafia life as she has lived through the horrors and nightmares. Oh she hated him with everything. And the bossy ways of Cruz was definitely not helping. Sparks flew everytime they collided. And the transformation from enemies to lovers needed real skill from author. It was slow burn with explosions. Am I making sense? She resisted and resisted but gradually Cruz broke down her walls. It was epic. It was angsty. It made me cry and swoon. The way he protected her with life. The way she supported him and healed him and gave him a safe home after the violence and blood and pain. And the heat! Let me just say the chemistry will BURN your kindle. The hate just intensified it! The story was a minefield and damn my heart exploded way too many times. The heartstopping love of Sienna and Cruz was possible because of that journey. I have no words for all my feels. The love was so beautiful and intense and everything I wanted and more! And you will see some MAFIA SURPRISES......

I cried and cursed. I threw my kindle enraged and I couldn't put it down. El Diablo II by M. Robinson made me go crazy from all the extremely violent emotions. The angst. The suspense. The passion. And all the devastating and aching words from M. Robinson. So much more than a mafia romance. You will definitely regret if you miss this one book in 2020.

I reviewed an early copy voluntarily.

“I’ll kill for you. I’ll die for you. But don’t think for one fucking second that I’ll protect you…from me.”

El Diablo is one of my favorite books. I love Alejandro and Lexi so my expectations were many for this book and his son’s story.

Cruz loves his dad and wants nothing more than to be like his father even though he doesn’t have all details of who is his father. Sienna is the mafia princess, protected from the world and hates that life after losing her mother. She wants to leave all behind, but then she meets Cruz and that’s it. He wants her, he will have her.

Cruz is all softie. He’s an innocent soft-hearted guy until his sister is taken under his nose. He blames himself, his father blames him and Sienna hates him because he’s what she hates the most on a guy or at least she thinks he is. Yeah, she’s judgmental. Cruz later changes and turns into his father: El Diablo.

I enjoyed this book. It was a good read but not the best. Let me explain:

Adriana is taken and I thought the tension would be a lot. Turns out that her disappearance is put behind over Cruz and Sienna story. I was even starting to wonder: are they even doing anything to get her?

And then, when I thought Cruz and Sienna as couple was going to pick up, we are sent to the other part of plot: Adriana’s kidnapping. And we basically say bye to their time together.

You see, I wished it was all divided and blended equally.

I wished there was more of Cruz and Sienna. They spend most of the time apart and when they aren’t apart, they’re on each other’s throats. And trust me… they fight a lot. They can’t see each other without fighting, without Sienna being disrespectful to him. Give an award to Cruz for being so patient, please. Sienna sees him as the enemy which made me feel bad for Cruz because he was cruel but not to her. He was in the situation because he had to but he was willing to make it work while Sienna was willing to insult him and judge him based on... mafia’s lifestyle? She could never or try to see Cruz for what he was, his qualities.

And when the situation with Adriana finally ended, I thought they would finally have their time until I realized the book was ending.

So yeah, it’s hard to connect them as characters and as couple. We don’t see them growing in love towards each of other, we don’t see them build a relationship. They aren’t even friends in any point until they confess their love. While Cruz knows all about her , she knows nothing about him because she doesn’t try and suddenly she’s in love. There was a big piece missing to convince us they’re in love.

Is it a bad book? No. Will I reread it? Probably not. Was justice made for Diablo’s son? Yes and No. Yes because he’s Diablo and made justice to his fame and no because both main characters deserved more development.

I must admit I went into this book with major triggers from the first book. Alejandro perving on Lexi was not sexy, it was pedophilia straight up. So, my review may be skewed based on that fact.
I liked both Cruz and Sienna , but I didn't like them together. There was too much Alejando and shit from the last book to be a true standalone. While reading this M Robinson made me feel like Alejandro was 45 instead of almost 70 +
I was not convinced of Cruz's and Sienna's passion for each other. I was not truly convinced of Cruz's demons and darkness. Cruz's musings of his supposed darkness is what M wanted us to believe, but it just seemed fake to me.
I think that" the M Robinson" has gotten caught up in the "QUEEN OF ANGST" self branding and has forgotten to give us what drew us to her in the first place, good writing. Stop concentrating on the twists and turns because something in these last 7 books have been really off and bad, although this book is a romantic suspense so these twists are a good thing.
To sum it up Alejandro stole the show, Vitale was more interesting than Cruz and Sienna and the MC had no burn the sheets, imma die if I don't get this ass passion AND Cruz is dark just because this is a romantic suspense and it's El Diablo ll. Oh yeah, arranged marriages are SO overdone in Mafia stories especially for the supposed Queen of Angst.

This was a fantastic mafia romance with an arranged marriage, secrets and suspense. It was a fast paced, dark and thrilling ride that I thoroughly enjoyed!

My sexy, arrogant mafioso absolutely made this book for me! Taking the throne from his father to become the new El Diablo.

Crucifixio Martinez
"When I stepped into a room, I demand respect...
It. Was. Mine.
The title
The authority
Alpha of the fucking pack."

Yess! This is how you write a mafia hero. He was feared and respected. He did whatever it took to protect and defend LaFamiglia. He was ruthless with his enemies but had so much love for his family. As Sienna's husband he had the right to claim her in any way yet he was patient and respectful, allowing her time to adjust to this life she never wanted to be a part of. I completely get off on men like Cruz who hold so much power and yet are so adoring with their women.

Sienna was a spitfire of a heroine. She grew up a mafia princess but has been counting the days she gets to escape this world. She disdained mafiosos who beat and cheat on their wives and take what they want, killing anyone standing in their way. She had no reason to expect Cruz to be different. This created sparring of epic proportions with two hot headed characters that clashed like fire and ice. Of course these heated banters eventually led to lust and validated my love for enemies to lovers romance.

I LOVE when a mafia book is done well because these men have SO much heart and passion! Crucifixio and his father Alejandro were men of honor and respect despite their cold-hearted, merciless actions at times. The loyalty to La Famiglia was everything and they did whatever was necessary to protect their loved ones. There are some dark parts to this book where Cruz walks the line of morals and ethics. I would be disappointed if this wasn't in a mafia romance. There were a lot of twists and turns and edge of your seat suspenseful moments that made this a really quick read.

I do have to say though that this is not a standalone in my opnion. I didn't read El Diablo (Alejandro's story) and I felt cheated. Towards the end there are a lot of revelations and I felt a bit lost. There were clearly connections to the first book that I was missing. Alejandro has a confessions of penitents that sort of summarizes his book but it wasn't enough for me. I think this would have been a 5 star book for me if I had read the first one. I was a bit frustrated to be honest and almost rated this less but I could not objectively do that because this book was so good. So I definitely recommend reading El Diablo before this one.

This is such a long ranty review. To sum, my biggest pet peeve is that the author did a lot of telling rather than showing and the plot bores me. I didn’t find the characters likeable or well developed. One star. I would however read Ari and Vitale’s story (although that scene where he just blurts out his life story was about as believable as a flying pig but hopefully it was to set up their book?) and this is because Lost Boy is one of my favourite books. So although this was a big miss, I know I’ve thoroughly enjoyed at least one work from this author.

I think I read a different book to everyone else? I was promised angst. A fiery takes no prisoners heroine. A love story. I didn’t get any of that. Angst - where? There’s no push or pull or build up, I feel the author tries to convince you of it but maybe it’s because the story is short but I didn’t feel any of it. If anything everything felt like it was moving too fast and I felt no connection between the two main characters. What do they even know about each other? Nothing.Fire - where? She does everything she’s told she just swears while she’s doing it and complains about things that make no sense. A mafia romance - where? Nothing really happens between Cruz and Sienna aside from her reluctance and brattiness at the start of the marriage. If I ever get into a tough spot with the mafia this is the mafia I want they’re kind of pathetic.

This might even be one star worthy (it is I reduced it sorry). Firstly, I remember El Diablo differently in my mind it was a completely different story where Alejandro falls in love with a woman he’s supposed to look after and then she pulls an uno reverse card and turns into the baddest bitch in the Mafia world. So I was really confused by Lexi and her “I don’t know what that means” in regards to the five families. I revisited my El Diablo I review and most of it came flooding back and it left the same gross taste in my mouth that it did the first time I read it. My hate for Alejandro was reignited and I carried on reading think Cruz would be different.

And he is but he isn’t, because his sister’s sudden kidnapping flips a switch which turns him into a carbon copy of his Dad “El Diablo”. The amount of times the words “devil”, “Diablo” and “growled” were used made me wish I’d started a drinking game. I would’ve been dead by chapter 10.

This story was honestly so predictable I don’t really understand why it was written. Cruz sees Sienna who is a mafia princess, but still somehow even knowing what her Dad does for a living has the ridiculous dream that she can live a normal life when she’s eighteen. This makes absolutely no sense. Sienna mentions her mother’s death and the time honoured tradition of women paying for the sins of mafiosos every second she can. Literally. She tells everyone about it. Even complete strangers.

So HOW could she possibly think that without her father’s protection that she would be safe, she KNOWS she would be used against him. The second she leaves when she turns eighteen she would be taken, because that’s what people do? So it’s stupid. Just really stupid. What a dumb plan.

She is eighteen so I cut her some slack. But her personality and character are not developed beyond her big brown eyes and pouty lips. She’s “sassy” and “feisty” meaning she swears a lot and refuses to sleep with him. She goes on and on about how much she respects and loves her father but truthfully why?! She complains that everything in her new life was paid for with blood money and that it basically disgusts her, but so was your life before that? So was your beloved horse and graduation party. Again, it makes no sense. Why would she care about that? Her disdain for Cruz is because he’s part of the mafia so she should feel the same way about her Dad. But then we learn her Dad is actually a piece of shit that beats and cheats on his now dead wife. I don’t know about you, but if I was as “feisty” and “sassy” as Sienna I would be plotting my father’s death quite honestly.

I also think it’s ironic that Sienna makes good points about how marriage is a death certificate and women constantly pay for men’s crimes. She blames herself for her mother’s death falling into the same trap in my opinion. No, your mother’s dead because your Dad is a mafia crime boss. You were eight. Your mother’s dead because she was the only one who cared whether you lived. Because let’s be honest if you really cares you wouldn’t have had kids. Why would you bring children into this life? Another good point Sienna made but guess what not a point she stood by at all. The epilogue was the worst. And nothing actually changes, they’re still in the mafia so how exactly did she justify that decision?

I could point out everything I hate about this story. The characters are undeveloped. Certain words were overused. I really wanted a shock twist ending but I didn’t get it. It was underwhelming to say the least. The “love story” was underwhelming. They know nothing about each other. We know nothing about them either except Cruz is a little Alejandro apparently and Sienna is a spoilt brat.

There’s a scene near the end where Cruz is beside himself crying and yelling “take me” while he’s watching a video and I just think please god just kill them all.

The world building was poor here. This might be because it’s a follow on and I remember the first book being quite long because it basically spans Alejandro’s entire miserable life - I’m sorry I hate him. But it’s a bit pathetic, he’s El Diablo for goodness sake. His daughter was taken, kidnapped! They sent you a video! And it took that long. Wouldn’t you keep and question/torture the absolute crap out of every single person at that party, Sienna included? That’s the first thing I would do (if I had the means/manpower which as the devil he should), and he would’ve gotten a lot further in his haphazard search.

I know this review is very blatant in my lack of enjoyment. I sped read most of this after the first ten chapters. M Robinson is a hit and miss author for me, sadly most have been misses but Lost Boy is one of my favourite favourite books and every other book I’ve read has just made me feel really weird. When all of Alejandro’s transgressions are laid out it’s just gross.

Ari and Vitale’s story looked so much more promising, I think it’s a shame that that wasn’t the story that was told. Because really nothing actually happens between Cruz and Sienna, they meet, get married, and in the end fall in love with little to no obstacles. I’m not even kidding. Again I have read a few mafia books so it does take a lot to surprise me, the scene on the wedding night I’ve seen/read before and it’s done better in the book I’m thinking of (Bound by Honour by Cora Reilly - a great mafia series if I remember correctly)

All in all, a total miss. I noticed some grammatical areas too. I’m glad it didn’t take too long to read.

Disappointing.

Another hyped book that was a let down. The last hyped up duet M Robinson wrote was a big disappointment.
This One.
As Well.
See what I did there? Every other page some times the same page there were 1-3 word, I don’t know paragraphs? I’m sure they were for emphasis but it just got annoying.
I wanted to copy them and paste into the review but I didn’t want to be that reviewer.
If you liked El Diablo 1 don’t read this one. You’ll be disappointed.

I know this says it’s a standalone and probably can be read as such, but I recommend strongly that you read book 1 first because as it turns out, the crux of the book is based on events of book 1. If you don’t, you’re going to be as lost as mofo in the last chapters.

So, in this book we meet Cruz Martinez the son on Lexi and Alejandro Martinez. Arrogant, handsome and rich fuck-boy as you would expect. He chaperones his sister to a friend’s graduation party where everything goes to shit when he gets smitten by the bell of the night Sienna Luciano.
This event makes Alejandro come out of retirement and for all intents and purpose, rise from the dead, and Cruz to finally sell himself to the devil. To remedy his fuck-up at Sienna’s graduation party, Cruz proposes an arranged marriage to Sienna. Needless to say, she’s less than happy about it.

Born and bred mafia princess, Sienna hates her life and cannot to escape it on her 18th birthday. Except that day turns out to be her worst day yet. She fights Cruz, fights the upcoming nuptials, begs anybody who would listen to help her out of it, but nobody want to know. Eventually she concedes and accepts her marriage.

I have to say I was not really convinced of their passion, not in the way I was with Alejandro and Lexi. While Cruz did crazy devilish things, I felt like he tried too hard. It did not seem to come to him as naturally. Maybe because he was not raised in that life? Not had to fight to make it where he was? I don’t know but I didn’t think he was as dark as he repeatedly said. And believe me, he talked a good game of how bad-ass, heartless and dark-souled he was. It got a bit cringe in some parts actually.

Furthermore, I am not sure about his and Sienna’s relationship. I mean were told he hardly spent any time at home and when he was there, they were tearing strips off of each other. How did he get to love her so seemingly out of the blue? They’ve not spent enough time with each other and the time that they have wasn’t exactly pleasant. It’s one thing to be super attracted to someone and eve lust after them, but love?

Arianna is the one who warned Cruz to go help Sienna with Giovanni, so why would she be following him out into the woods? How did Michael apparently know of Alejandro’s “death” when even the most connected of the underworld didn’t for 20 years? That night when Cruz made his first kill, his father wasn’t home and he chose not to tell him about the video that got delivered, so how did Alexandro know so quickly that he beat him there? And Cruz said he saved his dad’s life; I didn’t get that. How did he do that? Did I miss something?

Like I said, a lot of questions. It was an easy fun read though, but the end was a bit rushed to be fair. After the found Ari, Cruz and Sienna’s relationship basically raised to the finish line. I would have loved to see it fleshed out a bit. I’m kind of conflicted with how to write this review to be honest. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t my favorite book by this author.

I can’t wait for Ari and Christiano’s story. I have a feeling it’s going to be lit.

Ummmmmm, yea - this was far from what I anticipated.

El Diablo II is to be a complete stand-alone (but I am not sure that new readers will see that). The premise for this book held so much promise. Did I like it? Yes. However, I felt what was given to us was not what I had expected. I felt that a lot was overlooked, parts were far too overly dramatic and the book wasn't focused on Cruz and Sienna but other previous characters.

El Diablo II felt more like continuation to Alejandro's story with an intro to what we can expect next in a spinoff series featuring his kids and what is come in with the five families coming together. I felt that Cruz and Sienna's story was very overlooked. I personally do not feel that what we got, was Robinson at her best.

I have read almost all of Robinson's books and I always know that I going to get a story with a deep and expanding plot and characters who are more than one dimensional. I did not get any of that with this book. I felt nothing between Cruz and Sienna til near the end and that felt too rushed for me. They spend no time together and then all of sudden near the end, they're ready to rip each other's clothes off. Ehhhh...no.

Cruz doesn't come across as anything other than a pissed off boy (yes, boy) with the need for revenge. He does not see anywhere the dark and twisted person that Robinson tries to portray. He's all talk and no bite.

Sienna came across as this bitch most of the book and only softened near the end when her life was at risk (yea, not sold on that turn around). And maybe that's how all mafia princesses are but it made me not care for her.

The book dragged a lot; there was nothing exciting til about the last 15-20% of the book. The majority of Sienna and Cruz's interactions were arguing and that got redundant quickly. I felt nothing between them but anger and animosity. This book was open to too many assumptions and things happened that had me scratching my head.

I am usually excited for other character's books but this time, I am only excited for one - Cruz's sister, Ari and Christiano and what happened to her during captivity (I truly hope when her books comes out, that part is not overlooked or hurried at all).

Overall – it just ok for me. The ending is what I remember most about this book and that's because that was the most exciting parts. I remember more about Alejandro and Lexi – but I cannot remember much about Cruz and Sienna, except they argue a lot and he wants to get this sister back. That's not what I was wanting to get from this book. People who have not read El Diablo, will have a lot of questions on things because he is in this book way too much for it to be a standalone.

„You make me want to be a better man.”

I cannot even describe the level of excitement I felt when I found out about El Diablo II. M. Robinson completely blew me away with Alejandro and Lexi’s book, and the mere thought of another story in this world gave me goosebumps. Cruz Martinez, the son of the infamous El Diablo, had a lot to prove that he’s a worthy heir to his father. Has he lived up to the legend? YOU CAN BET HE DID!

Crucifixio Martinez is just as devilish as his father. He's cruel, ruthless and will stop at nothing to protect his loved ones. This guy is loyal to the bone and he knows no bounds. He is a total alpha who commands respect and fear. And he does it with such charisma that you are completely mesmerized.

Sienna was a surprise for me because she showed rebelliousness from the very beginning. This girl is stubborn, unyielding and feisty. She doesn't have any problem with saying what she really thinks, even though she was too defiant and hot-headed at times.

These two were mayhem in the making from the very beginning. The push and pull kept me at the edge of the seat and I swear that their constant bantering felt a lot like a foreplay. However, their love story was intertwined with danger, threats and darkness, and this made the tension almost unbearable. But when the pent-up feelings and lust finally found the outlet, the atmosphere was so freaking hot that my Kindle almost caught fire!

This story is totally unputdownable. I devoured every word like a junkie going through withdrawals, but that's what M. Robinon's writing does to the reader- it makes you completely addicted and always wanting more. El Diablo II is brilliant- sensual, dark and filled with the suspense that keeps your heart stuck in your throat. Throughout this story I wanted to laugh, scream, rage and ugly cry. Reading this book has been an amazing experience and I can't wait for the author to grace us with more of her mafia greatness.

Holy moly! This was worth the wait and DID NOT disappoint!! THis story takes off with Cruz and his sister and discoverong their Dad's past. From there without any spoilers things happen that change/mold Cruz forever. We alos get alot of snippets of Alejandro. This book was geat. Sucked me in from the start. Sienna is made for Cruz- their strength matches. She is an amazing lead for him and partner. If you enjoyed the firs book then this one will not disappoint you. I was sucked in from the start. Cruz and Sienna are combustable. Sienna gets herself into a situation and is froced to be with Cruz from there the stroy really takes off. Defintely recommend!!

I’m entranced with the words and world that M. Robinson creates! I fell hard for Alejandro! I don’t even know how! His evil oozed off him but he had the biggest heart! Cruz the son, the apple of his eye I wasn’t sure what to expect! Like father like son but yet the son was so much MORE!

The depths of his anger, his thirst for revenge; Cruz at times made his father look innocent but just as his dad the love that Cruz held inside was more than anything I expected! His love for his family was immeasurable and he would stop at nothing to protect his loved ones.

Robinson did an amazing job and really showing us the dark world that exists inside the mafia. This book really dug deep into La Familigia! I was blown away by all the love that exists even when so much evil exists!

Sienna and Cruz’s story isn’t easy, and it’s full of painful surprises but in the end their perseverance and depth of love just captures your heart! A definite must read!

*biiig sigh*

So, to start by saying that El Diablo is one of my favorites, and I still remember the story and the characters so vividly...so there, enough said...

Honestly, I didn't expect that there would be a second book...I mean, sure, it's about Alejandro and Lexi's kids, Cruz and Adriana, or well mainly Cruz...but still, I really had the notion that there was NO NEED for this book to begin with...

I felt nothing major or "breaking through" as a revelation, that would contribute to the lives of Alejandro or Lexi, I really thought that chapter was well rounded up and complete on its own, so... hmmm, I can't say that I enjoyed in Cruz's and Sienna's relationship, it made no sense to me to begin with nor have I developed and stronger feels...so their expressions of love, after blunt hatred, just made the lust between them more potent not the actual sentiment, if you get my drift.

the writing is fab, i love M Robinson's writing and I enjoyed that at least.

i guess, I just didn't expect anything, I went in blind, so to speak, and I really didn't have enough material to be disappointed, it was just okay.
