Quirky, entertaining and steamy

Wren and Whitney’s story is a little quirky, entertaining and seriously steamy. A story that is full of secrets and lies has you on the edge of your seat and captivated by Wren’s approach to win the girl with the purple hair that has stolen his heart. This is a story that is not only passionate and heartwarming but is full of so much humour that you will at times laugh till you cry. A love story that is overflowing with drama, suspense and intrigue also ticks all the boxes with sweet heartfelt moments. Wren’s character might be a little awkward at times but when he brings out his commanding tendencies you will find your skin will tingle and your pulse will race. However as much as I loved Wren and Whitney the winner for me was Puff Daddy, that bird was definitely stealing the show.

This was a quirky and fun read that I absolutely loved. The witty humour had me. I could relate to Whitney so much.

This story is thrilling, witty, funny, on some level cute and a whole lot more. Definitely not your conventional romance. Our characters have an unusual start and their journey is anything but easy or boring.

Our characters aren’t your typical which I loved. We have a clumsy, sexy, awkward IT genius who has a foul mouth bird as a best friend and a reclusive gaming hacker that doesn’t people and hates the gym just as much as anybody. I honestly love them. Their characters are outside the norm that you don’t typically see in a romance and it made the experience of reading refreshing.

The plot is great and unravels nicely. Awesome world building and amazing character development throughout. The drama and twist added some much needed anticipation and suspense. The passion and tension between the characters was through the roof and the up and down ride made for an exciting read.

If your looking for a funny, steamy and thrilling romance with a sexy and hot as hell geek god? Then this book is for you.

This is book 2 in the Blackbridge Security Series, I didn't read book 1 and I didn't feel like I missed anything from the other characters. After reading this book I will be going back for book 1. This is my first read by Marie James so I did not know what to expect and all I can say is WOW, Marie has scored herself a new fan.

The most hilarious thing in the book in between all the steamy scenes was Puff Daddy a very crude bird that says anything & everything. Wren & Whitney were made for each other and I can't wait to read more about the Blackbridge Security guys, They seem hot as hell.

Definitely recommend and can't wait to read the rest of MJs catalogue.

Shot in the Dark was such a surprising read. I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in the Blackbridge Security series and was eager to dive into this sequel.
After meeting Wren in Hostile Territory I was expecting a bumbling, nerdy, intelligent, klutz with a quirky pet parrot. Whilst Wren was quite accident prone, and highly intelligent, he was also quite the charming and dominant hero. What he lacks in social grace, he makes up for with charm and wit.
Whitney is Wren’s perfect match. She’s an awkward, and shy young woman who isolates herself in the online world, playing games, hacking and participating in forums.
This pair have quite a lot in common, that surpasses the interests of technology. Their banter is witty, fun and sarcastic, with moments of humor, and steaminess. The chemistry they share is undeniable and their interactions are erotic and steamy.
I highly recommend this title to anyone who enjoys a romantic suspense, with equal parts, drama, intrigue, suspense and intrigue and I look forward to the next title in the Blackbridge Security series.

I was sooo looking forward to this book after the first in the series. I was wondering how Wren's story would play out and I must say, I am a little surprised by a few things. I wasn't expecting Wren to be the demanding guy he was. I loved how clumsy he seemed to be, especially around Whitney.

The chemistry between the couple was hot. The content, hotter! I really enjoyed the storyline and the suspense added in as well. The books writing flowed well and I was never uninterested in what was happening, and was pretty much captivated from the first page. I devoured this read pretty quickly!

I can't wait to find out what is happening in the next book!

Fantasy v Reality are a running theme throughout, as are trust and honesty. A most enjoyable indeed Blackbridge Security series read.

There is something that’s so enticing about a man that is extremely smart yet sexy, and this one is somewhat of a “geek” (who plays video games), but man is he 🥵.

Wren is a hacker, a really REALLY good one, works for BBS (Blackbridge Security), and specializes in IT. He receives a package addressed to W. Nelson and takes it to work, not knowing it’s supposed to be for someone else, Whitney Nelson. He opens the package at work and is surprised to find it full of adult toys, kinky adult toys. So what does his curious, hacker mind do? He starts investigating who it belongs to, and then he starts stalking her 😬 (virtually). Whitney is also a computer geek, an independent contractor, and lives three floors below Wren. She tends to stay inside, opting to get everything she needs delivered to her, including food, but she only leaves her apartment to work out. Of course, he uses this opportunity to stalk her even more. He even ends up finding out some of the forums, adult forums, that she has visited and posted in. He ends of figuring out that she and he are a lot more compatible in many ways than he could have ever imagined, seeing as she is a natural submissive, which is perfect because he’s a dominant.

What I also loved about him is that he might be a dominant, sexy geek, but he is also human, and clumsy LOL. He joins her team on an online game called Orc’s Realm, an adult game that is voyeuristic in nature, purposefully meeting her there. The sexy talk during their gaming was 🥵💦. When she relents to getting coffee, it’s game over folks, because their chemistry becomes a conflagration. He quickly lets her know that he’s the dominant she needs to her submissive side… when they talk about safe words and their limits 🥵🔥. Wow. It was hawwwwwwwt!!!! They don’t have sex for a while, but all the snacks leading up to the main course meals were 🔥… dear Lortd, I needed a glass of wine and a cigarette after 🥵💦👀🔥😅😉. The way he just naturally ordered her and she naturally obeyed was sexy as f.

The side characters were hilarious! His nana was cool…. But the star of the show was Puff Daddy, his parrot. I was SOOO embarrassed for everyone around him 😂😂😂. He made me LOL many times! His comments were 🙈😱. At some point, I’ll read book one to get to Deacon and Anna’s story , but I’m looking forward to Flynn’s.

Goodness! I was not expecting that at all!! I think the pre-conceived view we have of computer geeks is that they're smart and sweet. Yes Wren is both those things but he's soooooo much more! He blew my mind!! I'm not gonna say too much but damn!! Hotness overload!! I was riveted to this book. His personality drew me in like honey to a bee! Seriously i'm still hot and flushed a few hours later!

And Whitney? She's his absolute soul mate! I loved her! She's kinda sweet but boy is she pure filth! Girl!! She's now an idol of mine! I love she knows what she wants! She asks and Wren delivers!

The way the story starts for these two is unconventional but it absolutely made the story. It kept me there from start to finish and when i got to the end? I clicked that pre-order button for book 3 quicker than you could blink an eye!

I Don't think there is anything i would change about this book. I loved the couple. I absolutely fell for Simon and Puff Daddy. Ohhh and Nana!! And seeing little bits of all the guys has me so excited for the rest of the series!!

Brilliant! Highly recommend this series it's turning out to be in my list of fave series!

The second book, just as good as the first!

In this one, we get to see more of what goes on with Wren, the BBS computer genius. I enjoyed seeing his obsession with Whitney. (Not okay in real life, but in this world? Totally perfect.)

The steamy chemistry between these two characters was surprising but adorable that they found their match. I could not flip the pages fast enough!
My only complaint (and it's a small one) is that I still don't know how Wren ended up with Puff!! Maybe the details are in another book...I will just have to keep reading!! (poor me😉😁)

This should be read in the correct reading order to get the most from the story.

I love this author's creativity! On to book 3!
