O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?

Seriously, this boy was lost and I spent the entire book trying to find him. This story told me who he was as a boy and who he hoped to be as a man and I was hooked on his journey.

He was broken. Confused. Lonely.

Born to a life of crime, when his brother betrays the family, Romeo is expected to step into his shoes. And he was okay with that until his father 'gifted' him a girl. Finding out his father deals in human trafficking changes things and Romeo is ready to shake things up and hopefully take the throne for himself.

This story was fast-paced and messed up. For the most part, I found it entertaining and while I didn't like any of the characters, I liked their connection. I probably would have enjoyed this more if the story that blossomed in the beginning between Romeo and The Girl was fleshed out for the rest of this story. The author's concept had so much potential and it fell just short of greatness.

This book is fun. It is short so there is not much for drama. And despite that, I like it very much. After a long weekdays dan bad choices of books, I finally picked up Beautiful Thief.

The title itself is misleading. Not much being stolen in the book. Since this is short book, the chemistry is happening at the beginning of the book.

Miss Forgy definetly can write a fun, sweet romance book.

line

After reading the first book of this series , I had high expectations with this one. But I am so sad to say that it was not what I expected. The whole story was very bizarre to me and things were happening fast. There was no connection between the characters , and I had a tough time completing the whole book and not leaving it in between.

This is Romeo's story , who is the younger brother of Keiran. Romeo is really twisted. Even more so than his brother. Now that Keiran has betrayed his family for a woman , the job to lead falls in Romeo's shoulder. The book started with Romeo lusting after his brother's wife. I mean , wtf???? He stole an underwear of hers and then was wishing that his brother would let them both share her....

I think that was the point I realized that this book was not going to be what I expected it to be. From there the story picks off with Romeo being tasked to be with a girl who his father bought for her. But why does a part of him feel like he knows her already? The book had a nice storyline , I just wish that the author had expanded the story a bit. Things were too fast and I couldn't just wrap my head around it.

If there was one story that caused me to have the most intrigue after reading the first book in a series, that story would belong to Romeo. This man had a dark sense so uncanny I literally felt my nerves rocking, and I hadn't even read the book! All I knew in that moment, after reading Beautiful Criminal, I needed Romeo's story, and I needed it now and then.

In My Own Words:

Beautiful Thief is the second book in the Omerta Law series by M.N. Forgy. This Mafia romance is told in both Romeo, and his love interest Luna's point of view.

At a young age, Romeo always knew there was something different about himself. He felt something more dark and sinister lurking below the surface of his soul. One day is all it took for the world to see him in a different light. One dark and manic episode is what set his path on this righteous journey. With his fists as his weapons and his anger as his new found glory, Romeo finds himself on the cusp of right and wrong, good vs. evil.

After a twenty four hour stay at a mental institution, Romeo finds the diagnosis to his manic episode is due to a bipolar syndrome. Having his father as a don of the mafia, Romeo is now looked down on and hidden away for his diagnosis. He's looked upon as being weak, when in reality he's the strongest person in the room.

Years later, Romeo finds himself in a position he can't get out of and the woman who has haunted all of his dreams, since his stay at the mental institution, is now back in his life. And he'll do everything in his power to bring chaos to those who have brought harm to and have wronged Luna for all these years. He has his flower back in his life, and he's not about to let her go.

My Thoughts:

M.N. Forgy has been one of my favorite authors since the moment I binged my first MC Romance by her. I've been intrigued by, not only, her writing style but the way she puts a story line together. When I first saw she was writing a series written in a mafia world, I knew I needed to get my hands on these books as soon as I could. With that being said, I loved the first book (Beautiful Criminal) in the series. I expected to love this one just as much, if not more. But sadly, this didn't quite reach my love standard. It was close but a few things were missing for me to make that jump.

Let's start with the story line...

I was intrigued from the very beginning. I loved the idea of Romeo taking down a human trafficking ring. I love his good meets bad side and how he was willing, in those few moments, to let his dark side (bipolar syndrome) free. I loved Luna being his sidekick in those moments. I sensed some strong Joker meets Harley Quinn vibes, and if you are unaware, they are my all time favorite villainous duo. However, I wish there was a bit more talk on the diagnosis in itself. I wanted more of Romeo coming to terms and dealing with his bipolar diagnosis. I feel like this subject is often overlooked and added in novels as a way for a character to lash out and have it be okay because he or she is bipolar. I wanted more focus to be around this topic.

I also wanted more backstory to where Luna is concerned. There were times when I needed to feel more of a connection to her and by having the ability to feel that connection, I needed to know more about her. A few flashback moments were vital in this situation. Given who she is and how far she has come, there was so much history that could have and should have been told.

I really loved the redemption moment between Romeo and his father. I loved the feeling that the prince is about to step in and reign terror on the king's throne. This man was a force to be reckoned with. I could tell, in this moment, he would do anything to protect Luna. Even if it means going against his family, he'd do it in a heartbeat. I do think this final action scene was a bit on the rushed side. I wanted that slow buildup. I wanted Romeo's internal monologue on his fight between justice and vengeance. I wanted to see the battle between good vs. evil. But sadly this man went in there guns blazing and redemption in his eyes. He knew he was there to kill, and that's what he intended on doing.

Do I recommend this novel?

If you're a fan of mafia romances with a few dark moments, violence, and sexy as sin moments... the answer is an easy yes. In my opinion, even with all the small nit picky issues I had, I would give this one a reread if I was in the mood to binge on mafia romances. Mr. Romeo definitely did it for me. I loved the moments between this man and his leading lady.

After Romeo DeAngelo’s brother betrayed the family, he must step up as the underboss. When he is told to handle a stolen girl, Romeo must decide if he truly can be the evil man his father wants him to unleash or if he can stay true to who he wants to be. She is so familiar but why? Can he do what his father wants or will this girl change his plans? We met Romeo in book one, “Beautiful Criminal” and I’m so glad to finally have this troubled mafia man’s story. Romeo is a tortured soul with a rage that lives within. This is told from past to present to understand he complexity that is Romeo. Can these
two troubled souls find redemption in each other? I can’t say much more as I don’t want to spoil anything but if you love a dark romance with kidnapping and suspense then you will love this. A well written and intriguing mafia romance that touches on metal illness. Told in dual POV

THE REVIEW FOR THE BOOK: BEAUTIFUL THIEF BY M.N.FORGY

GENRE:CONTEMPORARY DARK MAFIA ROMANCE.
AUTHOR:M.N. FORGY
TYPE: BOOK 2 OF THE OMERTA LAW...BUT CAN BE READ AS A STANDALONE.
POV: DUAL PERSPECTIVE.
MY RATING: 4 Stars.

This book takes place in the timeline when Keiran, Romeo's older brother, abandons the throne for the mafia underworld for a woman. And he had to step forward to tale his place. Well, thats not going to be as easy as it sounds. Living his whole life under his brother's shadow, he has to prove him self worthy to their father.
In order to prove himself, he has to agree to all the challenges put forth by his father. Even Sexual slavery...thats where it gets harder...when he the meets the only woman who has the power to bring him to his knees...Will he falter in his path to the power? Or will he too leave behind everything for love?

Romeo....Believe me, the Romeo here is nothing like the dreamy poetic man girls dream about...he is so much darker, cruel and merciless. A boy so innocent and vulnerable has turned out to be a ruthless, merciless man...The history between Luna and Romeo gave a beautiful edge to this story.
They never had intended to cross each other again but a deal gone wrong got Luna again in his dark twisted world.

After all the worse scenerio, its clear that Romeo and his Sunflower are meant to be together...there could be a more perfect female character for Romeo than Luna.

I love the plotline of the story, its Mafia romance with love blossoming in the darkest place possible. The past and present was kinda hazy and I wish there was more scenes of them together when they were young...

I literally couldn't put this book down when I started it...and finished it in mere hours.
I read the book 1 of this series after this, I can say without doubt that Keiran and Romeo both are kind of man who makes yoy fall in love with them without even trying...A beautiful Criminal and Thief Indeed.

DNF. I can't rate this one because I didn't get very far. Fine, ok, I can take a very detailed sex scene with OW, since it was before the h. But reading about the H lusting after his brother's woman, wishing that his brother would share her with him while sniffing the panties he stole from her? No, just no. Dunzo.

After Beautiful Criminal, I was dying to get my hands on Romeo’s story and MN Forgy delivers with Beautiful Thief. The concept behind it is raw and heart breaking but inspiring as Romeo is thrown into something so dark and disturbing by his father. What I loved about this book is we do get a feel for why Romeo is the way he is right at the start. The culmination of it if you will. As the story flows, you meet Luna who is from his past. Their connection is instant. Once these two are thrown into it together, it is like clarity for both of them. There are intense moments, high drama and sizzling passion between them. I found it fast but also fluid at the same time because it just made sense. The way that Romeo is, he needs that fast and intense love with Luna.
Overall, I am loving what Forgy is creating with this series. It is fast, raw, passionate and so much more. The whole crime boss aspect adds that level of intensity, especially after the ending that happens in Beautiful Thief! I am so intrigued at what will happen next!

We first met Romeo in Beautiful Criminal and I have to say I couldn't wait to delve deeper into this complex mystery of a man and boy he did not disappoint. His brothers defection has meant that Romeo is expected to take his place as underboss but when he is given his first test will he prove his father right or wrong. The story is told in both past and present and we see young Romeo struggle unable to handle feelings and emotions he expresses them through rage. The early parts of the story helped me understand him better so I'm glad they were included. When his past and present collide it's either going to be the best thing that happened to him or it will get him killed.

I liked the new character that was introduced in this one she gave Romeo a purpose and someone who didn't judge him. I was happy this one was a little more bloody than the first book I just wish that we got more time with them as a couple. I am holding out hope for another book where the brothers join forces and take on all their enemies.

“Trust is like a thin layer of skin, so easily broken and scarred.”

Chaos and destruction wars with kindness and the need to do the right thing, Romeo is the perfect storm that no one has seen coming. Stepping up when his brother chooses the enemy over family, Romeo finds himself between a rock and a hard place. Never having stepped out of the shadow of his older brother he quickly needs to decide what type of man he is going to be; evil like his Father or evilly good that no one before him?

Luna, thrust into another unknown after being sold for the countless time what will be expected of her this time? A lifetime of pain she’s wary of her new circumstances but still not broken enough not to fight. Dancing with the devil isn’t as scary if you get to choose the song...

I read this in a day (work got in the way). Lost in the story of human trafficking, sunflowers and uncontrollable emotions. Romeo unleashed and raw is a sight to behold, the unnerving edge he has was delicious to read. Luna is his flower, giving him strength when the sun no longer shines. Her perseverance and inner strength to survive is perfectly imperfect as she battles her own fears and hopes, learning who she is. The full on commitment Romeo has to right the wrongs by all those that hurt her left me smiling wide and my heart was happy dancing at that last chapter. I truly hope this isn’t the last we see of this family, I feel their dynasty has many more stories left untold.

A five star my sunflower read.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

My name may be Romeo, but I'm far from romantic. My brother betrayed the family, forcing me into the role of underboss beneath the criminal mastermind that is our father. I've never been a merciless criminal, and my father tests my resolve by giving me a stolen woman, knowing the situation disturbs me. What he doesn't know is the disheveled beauty intrigues me. She tried to kill me with my own gun on the first night, pushing my fixation into a dangerous addiction. She's unknowingly teaching me the power I have, and now I'm going to take over my father's empire. It's a cold dark path to the top and I'm finally ready to lead the way.

This is the second book in the Omerta Law Series from M.N. Forgy. You could probably read this as a standalone but in my opinion you need to read the first book to understand the dynamic of the family and the relationship between Romeo and his brother. I was so excited to be getting Romeo's story and while this isn't necessarily dark it does deal with some dark subject matter and I feel like it deals with a subject that we all knows happens but might be disturbing. This story is told form the point of view from Romeo and Luna. When you read the prologue of this book your heart is going to break right off the bat. Poor Romeo knows that something is going on with him and he has these mood swings and when he begs to not go to school his mother insisted he did. An incident that day leads to Romeos being send to a play that would scare any young child but it also led him to Luna who apparently talked to no one. But she and Romeo had a connection from the get go. Fast forward and we find Romeo is the one who is going to have to take his father's place one day but does he really want to be the Don of the Mafia? His brother fell in love with the wrong girl and betrayed their family but that never has stopped he and Romeo from staying in touch. But one night will change everything he has ever thought about and bring to him a blessing he never saw coming and change his entire life. You have to read the book to find out what I am talking about. I loved this story. I thought it dealt with some serious topics and they were handled well and with love and care and great thought. I am so loving this series. It is one that you do not want to miss.

BEAUTIFUL THIEF is the second instalment in MN Forgy’s contemporary, adult, OMERTA LAW dark, erotic, romance series. This is Romeo DeAngelo, and Luna’s story line. BEAUTIFUL THIEF can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary. Romeo DeAngelo was first introduced in book one BEAUTIFUL CRIMINAL.

NOTE: BEAUTIFUL THIEF contains graphic scenes of violence that may not be suitable for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Romeo and Luna) using present day and memories from the past, BEAUTIFUL THIEF follows in the aftermath of Kieran DeAngelo’s exit from the DeAngelo Crime Family, and Romeo’s reluctance to become an underboss in his father’s organization. To prove he is worthy, Romeo must negotiate the purchase of sex slaves, something of which he was unaware but Romeo’s latest acquisition is someone familiar, someone who stole his heart years before. What ensues is the quick building romance and relationship between Romeo and Luna, and the potential fall-out as Luna’s time with Romeo comes to a close.

The relationship between Luna and Romeo begins as a business arrangement, one in which Romeo had no idea as to what had happened. Rescuing one woman from sexual slavery meant many other women had been left behind, and in this Romeo is about to enter into the dark side, in an effort to avenge the woman with whom he is falling in love.

We are witness to Romeo’s breakdown fifteen years earlier wherein our anti-hero will meet his ‘flower’, a woman whose predilections and violent tendencies will eventually match Romeo’s own. Romeo was never number one in his father’s eye but with the departure of his brother Kieran, Romeo needed to prove he was worthy of wearing the proverbial crown.

We are reintroduced to Romeo’s brother Kieran and his girlfriend/wife Leona; Romeo and Kieran’s parents, as well as the return of their Uncle Gio and Leo.

BEAUTIFUL THIEF is a fast paced story of blood, bondage, family and crime; a story of power and control; rescue and revenge. The premise is dark and gritty; the characters are energetic, manic and a little bit crazy; the romance is wild and free.

This is the second book in the Omerta Law series by M.N. Forgy and this one is Romeo's story; the younger brother of the two. Mafia based stories is a genre I enjoy enormously and this is a story I really enjoyed reading. I think this was my favourite book of the two and being told in a dual POV made it even better for me.

I loved Romeo, he battles with himself about which way his heart lies; the right or the wrong of the family business that has always surrounded him. Always in the shadow of elder brother Kieran, there is a constant rage burning inside of him always itching to escape, but also a kind caring side which I couldn't help but love.

Romeo's story is told from his past to the present so I got to see just how complex Romeo really is. When he is ordered to deal with a stolen girl called Luna from a sex trafficking ring he has just, unknowingly, taken on the biggest challenge of his life. Luna is a breath of fresh air for Romeo and although she has had the most tragic and disturbing starts in life, this young woman is strong, forceful and certainly knows her own mind. I enjoyed reading Luna's character very much.

I admire this author for writing about sex trafficking, some of which was difficult to read and at times heartbreaking. I would have liked the father to be included more in the story seeing as he has had such an influence on his children's lives. Also, as with the first book, I felt some parts were slightly rushed but overall this didn't spoil my enjoyment of Romeo's and Luna's story. A definite read that I would recommend.

Oh, my Romeo!!! You had my heart breaking from the beginning of this book and I just knew you would not only break my heart but also make me fall in love with, and you did. He has been through so much even from a child and no one understands him nor wants to help him. It is so sad because you know these things truly happen in everyday life. The only thing that keeps him sane while he suffers is his Sunflower. Luna has had rough life and suffers silently but from a young age her and Romeo have an instant connection and their souls align. Years after their first meeting they come face to face again, but Romeo doesn’t recognize her at first because she has been through so much but when he does his heart knows she is it. Even if both are misunderstood and suffer in silence, they lean on each other, but can they survive what is in store for them? Can Romeo live up to an expectation that he doesn’t feel worthy of? Can Luna learn to live on her own or will she let Romeo go because she doesn’t think she is worthy of his love? This book was so good and I was happy with the outcome, especially when Romeo went on his tear and showed us his psycho side because I believe we all have those in us some we can control others not so much.

This was book 2 in the Omerta Law Series and should be read after the first. Because this is about the other brother. What I found most interesting was that I did not expect this back story from Romeo. I had this story for him in my head and really thought I knew where it was going to go. Well, I was wrong and way off base.

Romeo had a pretty rough go of it. Being the second son, the one who was not ever going to take the top spot. And then his brother does the unthinkable by getting into bed with the enemy. He is pretty broken and then he sees all that is on the inside of this father's business. But by fates, he meets this crazy girl once again. And in meeting her, his path becomes clear. What he will do with that is only time will tell.

This was a good follow-up. I did think the problems got resolved a bit too seamlessly. I enjoyed the darkness and grit. I liked seeing the characters grow into their new roles, but the end fell a little short. I will be interested to see if the other characters get their own stories, there is a bit of clean-up and things these two brothers need to work out still.

Romeo is the crazy psycho every one loves to hate. But I kinda loved him. He owned his flaws & even though he was a criminal who lived in the dark, he also had so much goodness & kindness in his heart.

Luna, a girl who had been through so much in her short life. I couldn’t even begin to imagine everything she went through. She was the perfect match for Romeo. Their crazy was a perfect match for the other.

Human trafficking has become such a hot topic these days. It’s always been an extremely important topic but has definitely become more talked about these days which is good. I really liked the approach M.N. took with this topic.

I will say I really thought we’d see more of Kieran & Leona in this book. I felt their story was so unfinished. Romeo & Luna’s story was a great read. I received an arc of this book in return for an honest review.

Beautiful Thief by M.N. Forgy is the second book in the Omerta Law series.

I love a good mafia romance, and Beautiful Thief takes readers on a steamy and twisted ride to the underworld of NYC.

Romeo has been battling with his inner demons ever since one decision changed his life when he was a kid. Luna has had horrendous experiences with people she trusted in the past.

Luna was light during the most challenging moment in Romeo's childhood. Now, Romeo gets the chance to return the favor when their worlds collide years later.

This book contains challenging scenarios that may be triggering for some. That said, this book was excellent, and I highly recommend it.

Omg, this was brilliant!!!
At times I wondered how the author was going to fit everything into one book with everything that was going on, but she did it, and for multiple sensitive subjects she did it with class.
I'm keeping my review short and sweet as don't want to ruin the journey for anyone, but I'm now eager to see what on earth the author has up her sleeve for the brothers and their women.
Definitely recommend.

Beautiful Thief Is book two in the Omertà Law series. I was super excited to read this and I gotta say it was better than I thought.

We now get Romeos story and what a story it is. Told in the past and present we get we get to see how complex he really is. Luna is a likeable and strong character.

I’m not gonna go into the storyline but I will say if you enjoy dark stories then I recommend this story for you.
I’m looking forward to reading more from this author.

Romeo is a complex and complicated character and he is left in a bind from Kieran‘s decision. Now Romeo is up for a position he didn’t want. I’m glad this author did flashbacks of Romeo‘s childhood because it shaped the way he is as an adult. He is ordered to deal with a sex trafficked women and he is for a big surprise. Luna has been sold to countless men in her life and she is being sold to yet another one. She is like a breath of fresh air to Romeo, even though she has a tragic past she is a strong young woman. Will they balance each other out and mend each other’s souls?

I was looking forward to reading Beautiful Thief, Romeo and Luna's story. The story right from the beginning was dark and disturbing in so many ways, especially what was taking place in the psych ward. After that, the story just got weirder. Also everything in the story happened extremely fast for me, I wish the story was a little longer, making events flow better together.

Forgy is back with the 2nd book in her Omerta Law series and what a book it is, filled with chaos, destruction, uncontrollable emotions, human trafficking and one beautiful thief who I guarantee will worm his way under your skin and into your heart stealing it in the process, his name is Romeo, Romeo DeAngelo.

Romeo’s story isn’t a pretty one, it’s raw and it’s real, even now days after reading this book my heart still goes out to him, from the young boy he was to the man he became, I’m so thankful he found his sunflower.

When Romeo’s brother betrays the family Romeo finds himself stuck between a rock and a hard place, he’s always been in the shadow of his older brother Keiran, now the time has come for him to step up and take on the role of underboss beneath his criminally masterminded father. Does Romeo have it in him to be as evil as the father he detests or is he in actual fact worse? A whole different breed of evil wrapped up in a pretty package… Read Beautiful Thief and decide for yourself.

Just as Romeo finds himself thrust into the role of underboss, Luna finds herself yet again being thrust into a world of uncertainty, when a deal goes wrong she ends up in Romeo arms, he’s unsure of what to do with the dirt covered young woman gifted to him by his father, he takes her to his home with plans of setting her free however things don't go quite as planned when he sees Luna for who she really is, his sunflower’s back, she’ll give him the strength to take on anything when the sun is no longer shining, in turn Romeo will right all the wrongs done to Luna, helping her to overcome her fears and discover who the real Luna is as he sets her free yets steals her heart in the process like the beautiful thief he is.

After reading Beautiful Criminal I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect when it came to Romeo’s story and I certainly didn’t expect to like him more than Keiran, Forgy blew my expectations with Beautiful Thief and as for Romeo I love, love, loved him (and Luna). This was an amazing, fantastically written story, hopefully it’s not the last we’ve heard from the Omerta Law family, I look forward to seeing what’s in-store next.

Beautiful Thief is book two in the Omertà Law Series. I was looking forward to reading this after reading Keiran’s book. I really wanted to like this book. While I know none of these books are real, the storyline was too rushed for the dark situations happening.

Even the devil was once an angel. I’ve never been an angel. I’m far worse.

I could not imagine what Luna has been through since she was taken. She was sold and used for pretty much anything you can imagine. I would not have trusted Romeo either. That being said, after all those years of captivity and being used I cannot understand how she went from being afraid he would touch her to two days later sleeping with him. I know everyone handles trauma differently, but the girl was locked in a cage, sold, and trafficked for years so I doubt she would be so quick to want intimacy. Also, it seems unrealistic that she is this tough woman after such a short time and wants to go back, take her kidnappers down and save the others. It seemed rushed.

She’s a sunflower in a world of organized crime. I’ll kill anyone who tries to take my sunshine away.

Romeo was equally good and evil in my eyes. I liked his character. He had his own issues he dealt with and I like that we got to see what happened in his past which really helped understand him as a person and added that character depth. As vicious as he could be he really had a good heart. I was creeped out when we learned about how he felt about his brother’s wife. It was weird and whether it was used to show his desire to have a woman to give him the love he wanted we could have done without knowing he stole her underwear. So weird and creepy.

Even the devil was once an angel. I’ve never been an angel. I’m far worse.

This book was okay, but it felt too rushed. With everything Luna went through it just did not flow well. I think if there was more time spent on showing a slow progressing relationship building between them when he saved her it would have been better.

All I can say is I love this story so much! To take two very difficult issues and weave words into a story that truly delights and doesn’t bring you down-is brilliant. Yes, there are, gritty parts that are very real but the focus of the book is not that and I applaud the author for the manner in which she chose to write this book.

Romeo is a complex character but one who you can’t help but really like from book one. In Beautiful Thief we get to know him on a much deeper level and fall in love with him all the more. Luna is his balance and her character is so intuitive and in touch with Romeo’s feelings, it’s uncanny. She is the yin to his yang!

I literally couldn’t put this book down and read it in a few hours, it’s such a fast-paced book all of a sudden you realize you are at sixty-eight percent and crave more and more. Wonderful descriptions, terrific sayings, and a sensational feeling throughout the book make it a joy to read.

I totally recommend it to everyone but if you haven’t read Beautiful Criminal, book one, do that first, another five stars read too.
