If anti-Muslim hate crimes do not exist, they must be invented. They’re simply too politically useful to do without. And so it is that the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is aiding Diamond Powell of Baltimore in her discrimination lawsuit against Susdewitt Management LLC of Lanham, Maryland, which runs two McDonald’s locations at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport.
Why is Diamond Powell suing? Well, you see, she came in to work wearing a hijab and “a manager told her to ‘take that hoodie off’ her head while another manager told her, ‘You don’t have to wait for God to wake up for you to pray.'”
People say rude things to each other all the time, and in most cases they’re not considered grounds for a federal lawsuit. But when “Islamophobia” and Hamas-linked CAIR are in play, it’s an entirely different ballgame.
Powell also charges that McDonald’s refused to allow her to pray at the required times. Yet using this as the basis for a federal lawsuit is entirely spurious. Even at a 2017 conference whining about alleged “Islamophobia” and smearing those who call attention to jihad terror, one Muslim spokesman acknowledged that missed prayers can be made up: “One man asked how an employer is to deal with Muslim employees, given their need for prayer, (Dr. Tabasum Hussein, a panelist who joined the Q and A, answered that ‘We don’t stop fire fighting or surgery to pray. We can make it up later.’)”
Also, Powell’s lawsuit claims that “her prayer breaks lasted no longer than a typical bathroom break,” yet “the general manager prohibited Powell from praying in a quiet spot at the airport and instead told her to pray in a dirty stock room.”
This may be a clue to what really happened. Yes, maybe the general manager was motivated solely by “Islamophobia.” But where exactly was this “quiet spot at the airport” in relation to the McDonald’s where Powell worked? How long did it take her to get to the quiet spot and then back to work? Could it be that the general manager asked her to pray in the stock room so as to minimize the time she was away from work? AP’s Michael Kunzelman doesn’t have the wit, interest, or courage to ask such questions.
Meanwhile, following the usual establishment media pattern, Kunzelman doesn’t bother to inform you that CAIR is an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case — so named by the Justice Department. CAIR officials have repeatedly refused to denounce Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist groups. Several former CAIR officials have been convicted of various crimes related to jihad terror. CAIR’s cofounder and longtime Board chairman (Omar Ahmad), as well as its chief spokesman (Ibrahim “Honest Ibe” Hooper), have made Islamic supremacist statements about how Islamic law should be imposed in the U.S. (Ahmad denies this, but the original reporter stands by her story.) CAIR chapters frequently distribute pamphlets telling Muslims not to cooperate with law enforcement. CAIR has opposed virtually every anti-terror measure that has been proposed or implemented and has been declared a terror organization by the United Arab Emirates. CAIR’s Hussam Ayloush in 2017 called for the overthrow of the U.S. government. CAIR’s national outreach manager is an open supporter of Hamas.
Why no mention of any of that, Mr. Kunzelman?
What this is likely about is that many other companies, wanting to avoid the hassle and negative publicity of a court battle, have settled for large sums just to make the thing go away. It’s a reliable cash cow for Hamas-linked CAIR and its clients.

SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) — A Muslim woman who worked for a McDonald’s franchisee in Maryland claims managers and co-workers sexually harassed her and subjected her to religious discrimination after she converted to Islam.
Diamond Powell, 28, of Baltimore, sued her former employer, Susdewitt Management LLC of Lanham, Maryland, on Thursday with the backing of attorneys from the Council on American-Islamic Relations, a Muslim civil rights group.
The Morgan State University graduate was Christian in 2016 when she started working for the company, which operated two McDonald’s locations at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport. Powell converted to Islam in February 2017 and began wearing a hijab, a religious head covering, to work.
A manager told her to “take that hoodie off” her head while another manager told her, “You don’t have to wait for God to wake up for you to pray,” Powell’s federal lawsuit alleges.
Powell has a religious belief that she must pray five times a day at prescribed times. A general manager initially granted Powell’s request to take short prayer breaks during her shifts, according to her lawsuit.
“Her prayer breaks lasted no longer than a typical bathroom break,” the suit says.
But the general manager prohibited Powell from praying in a quiet spot at the airport and instead told her to pray in a dirty stock room, the lawsuit alleges. After Powell continued praying outside the restaurant, the general manager eventually revoked her request to take a prayer break, saying, “God will understand,” according to the lawsuit.
“By doing so, the general manager forced Powell to choose between continuing her employment with McDonald’s or sacrificing her sincerely-held religious beliefs,” the suit says.
Powell resigned from the job in April 2018. Her suit accuses Susdewitt Management of violating the Maryland Fair Employment Practices Act and the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
Susdewitt Management owner Isaac Green disputed the lawsuit’s “characterizations” but said the company is reviewing Powell’s allegations and will “respond accordingly.”
“We pride ourselves on our diverse workforce, and we have policies in place to provide a welcoming workplace and to respect the accommodations employees may need for religious reasons,” Green said in a statement provided by a McDonald’s corporate spokeswoman.
The suit also claims Powell was sexually harassed at work, with several managers and co-workers asking her if she was a virgin and a shift manager making sexually explicit remarks.
“No Muslim woman should ever, ever experience what I went through, and I hope this lawsuit will help other Muslim women,” Powell said Thursday during an online news conference with her attorneys….

What should happen is a protest to remove the religion clause from the first amendment and place it in a religion is not amendment all by itself. Where they have power, they treat non-Muslims appallingly and discriminate constantly against them, but, in western countries, they see a weakness in our decency and always set out to exploit it. I’m pretty sure that most styles of hijab would go against the McDonald’s dress code, as well as the usual health and safety standards for clothing.
First off, the McD’s uniform includes hairnets and hats. So the lady wouldn’t have to wear hijab to cover her hair, only to cover her face.
It is usually forbidden in the health code to cover one’s face, but right now, employees generally must wear COVID masks while dealing with the public. So she wouldn’t have to wear a hijab to cover her face, either.
Finally, I seriously doubt that any stockroom would be “dirty.” Fast food franchisees are usually very strict about making sure that all restaurant floors and walls are clean. Often the non-refrigerator, non-freezer stockroom doubles as a video watching room and conference room. If Powell thought the stockroom wasn’t clean enough, she probably could have volunteered to clean it, and probably could have brought some kind of small prayer rug that would roll small and be kept in an unused space.

In my previous work I employed temporary students every summer. This was in a university office dealing with the allocation of rooms to students for the new intake in September. We were extremely busy in the summer, hence taking on 4 temps each year, and there was a policy of no holidays at all for any staff (permanent and temporary) in July, August and September). All of this was listed in the initial job description and explained very carefully to staff at interview.
I’m not a racist person (believe it or not!), and one year I employed a Muslima temp who wore the full burka and head dress and who asked if it would be ok if she went to pray at the prayer room on campus in her lunch hour. That was of course no issue – it was her lunch hour she could do what she wanted. But you can guess what happened – the first day she was 5 minutes late back. Ok, things happen, no huge problem. The 2nd day it stretched to 10 minutes and then I had to talk to her about it. Very difficult conversation because at once it became about me “stopping her from praying”. However the rule was the same for everyone and I stuck to my guns. Then started up that she wanted time off for a religious festival – I think it must have been Eid. I refused on the basis that she knew it was no holidays. She rang in sick that day. I talked to her on her return, but obviously couldn’t prove she wasn’t sick. In the end I had to give her the boot.
But I would NEVER employ another Muslim. Going by this woman and other anecdotal evidence I’ve heard from other people, Muslims have expectations that their every whim and need will be catered to in the workplace. That they are “special”. This was nearly 10 years ago and I’m pretty sure if it had been today I’d have been accused by her of “Islamophobia”. Just don’t employ Muslims.
