This man is only the latest among a great many whose actions have been ascribed to mental illness despite indications that he was committing a jihad attack.
“His computer has yet to be analyzed, but nothing has been found to suggest that he is radicalized.”
What are they looking for? An ISIS membership card? Screaming “Allahu akbar” while brandishing a knife while walking down the street isn’t enough?
“Villefontaine: armed with a knife, a man shouts ‘Allahu akbar’ in the street,” translated from “Villefontaine : armé d’un couteau, un homme crie ‘Allahu akbar’ dans la rue,” by Louise Buyens, France Bleu, August 2, 2020 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):
A 29-year-old man shouted “Allahu akbar” in the street in Villefontaine this Sunday morning. He was armed with a knife and a stick. Arrested by the gendarmes, he was first taken into custody before being transported to a psychiatric hospital. The national anti-terrorism prosecution has been notified.
This Sunday morning, around 9:30 am, a 29-year-old man, armed with a knife and a stick, shouted “Allahu akbar” as he strolled through the Étourneaux district in Villefontaine.
The gendarmes quickly intervened on the scene and arrested the man who struggled violently before being overpowered. Very agitated, the man was first placed in police custody before being forcibly interned in a psychiatric hospital.
A search was carried out at the home of this man unknown to the services. His computer has yet to be analyzed, but nothing has been found to suggest that he is radicalized. The national anti-terrorism prosecution was nevertheless notified….

“Very agitated, the man was first placed in police custody before being forcibly interned in a psychiatric hospital.” I bet that if it were not a Muslim with a knife and stick, the man would have been taken to the commissariat rather than a hôpital psychiatrique. It is time that all nations plagued with this menace to take action to eradicate it. The Greeks have the right idea, which is to put them in the water and tell them to return to their birthplace.

What is the motive for calling jihadist attacks “mental illness” ?
What actually is gained by it ?
James Lincoln says
Rufolino,
Governments that have let in very large numbers of muslim migrants do not want to be held accountable for this action. And law enforcement is instructed to look at these attacks through certain politically correct optics.
By mislabeling the jihadist attack as mental illness, islam does not need to be put “on trial”.
It is only a short-term “gain” for the corrupt governments, however…

Here we go with the part where the media changes Allahu Akbar! (our God is greater) to Allah Akbar! (our God is great). Big difference. Kind of like how it’s impossible to distinguish between protestors (who hold signs and chant) and rioters (who commit felonies like breaking and entering, grand theft, arson and various kinds of violent attacks on the police),

On the other hand, typical psych hospitals incarcerate for at least 30 days, isolate and torture the patient with cocktails of mind bending drugs and prohibit ones access to radicalize fellow patients.
Ray Jarman says
I don’t think that I would be given a thirty day stay at a psych ward if I killed my mother or wife. This POS should have been sent straight to jail without a get out free card.

Wait–so psychiatric hospitals are “torturing” their patients, but you have no word of criticism for this Jihad terrorist?
I have a friend who has genuinely wrestled with mental issues (he is non-violent). He has been hospitalized a few times, usually when his friends have seen that he is not taking his meds and is heading for trouble. He has actually praised the hospitals for offering him care and stabilizing him.
No–taking meds is no fun, and most of them have unpleasant side effects–but compared to untreated mental illness they are generally *much* preferable.

“…taking meds is no fun, and most of them have unpleasant side effects…”
100% true.
I diagnosed severe hypertension in a patient a few years back and prescribed some antihypertensive medication.
He got the prescription filled and read all about the side effects. He was very reluctant to take the medication.
I told him that he was forgetting about the side effects of not taking the medication. Stroke, cardiovascular disease, renal failure, etc.
Suffice it to say, he started taking his medication – and did well.

Thanks for that account, James–that means a lot, coming from a physician.
And not only are most medications useful for treatment, but the civilized world is getting better all the time in developing more efficacious treatments.
Whereas, Islam is still prescribing camel urine and fly wings…

To APF,
This is now a standard tactic of the left wing media to play down, and mitigate acts of terrorism by Muslims with “Mental Illnesses” – it is also becoming more and more obvious that the Muslim pay masters in the likes of Qater and Saudi Arabia ( who have been sending billions of dollars into western Europe and the U.S in the last 25 years ) to build Mosques, and almost certainly, to bribe politicians into turning the other cheek, with the long term goal of taking over the world. #WakeUp

Well, islam is a mental illness

I should be obvious by now that anyone who follows the “teachings” of a psychopath is not right in the head to start with. Just have to ask if Charlies Manson’s followers were sane?
Then when this is extended to a global scale the numbers of “whacko’s” also increases.
Was this individual a jihadi, a wanna be jihadi or someone who is just f*#ked in the head?
Guess we won’t know till he try’s this again.

I can’t even be shocked by cases like this any more…

I’m still shocked by the deliberate disinformation usually following such attacks.

Grimly all too common, Rufolino.
