Kensington Bradwell doesn’t get told no often.
Not when he built an empire from the ground up.
Not when he became the most powerful man in North Haven.
And definitely not when he met my mother.

A picture-perfect relationship,
a happy family,
and twenty years of marriage—
all thrown away for a man with no morals.

Tearing him down won’t be easy,
but I won’t stop until his empire is in flames.
For my sister. For my father. For me.
I need to find a way to break him,

Lucky for me, the answer just fell into my lap.
Daddy’s little princess may be innocent in all of this,
but Lennon’s about to get caught in the crossfire of revenge.

THE ENEMY: is the fourth full length enemies to lovers romance book in 'Kelsey Clayton's' 'Haven Grace Prep' series. Spoken in 'Dual Perspectives.'

“You stand here, up in your ivory tower, untouchable to everyone—but not me. No. Mark my words. One day, I'll claim your mind, your body, your innocence. One day, you're going to be mine.”

Eighteen year old surfer dude, Cade Knight is beyond shocked to learn that his parents are divorcing, he'd always thought his parents were happy, but learning that it was his mother's doing is hard for him to comprehend. Throw in the fact that that they and his younger sister will be moving in with her new love interest and his daughter throws his life into a path of revenge seeking. If it wasn't for his sister and wanting to keep an eye on her he wouldn't be moving at all. He's got a chip on his shoulders.

117240831-197756198356709-4949539228309379654-n

Somehow he has to come up with a way to break them up so his mother gets back with his father. Making 'Kensington Bradwell' enemy number one..But that was before he set eyes on Lennon.

Lennon Bradwell is the apple of her father's eye, his little dance 'Princess' there's nothing he wouldn't do for her. All its ever been is her and her father since her mother walked out never to be seen or heard of again since she was just a toddler.
Then her father drops a bomb shell his new girlfriend and her two kids will be moving in with them, and her son is thereabouts the same age as her.

Sparks fly, tempers flare, these two go head to head on more than one occasion. The battle lines are drawn!!

I loved this one so much, the banter, the tension, the too and fro, the drama, the drop kick cheating ex boyfriend mongrel, all had my angsty soul salivating, the only reason why I've rated it 4 stars and not 5 is that I felt like the ending was a wee bit rushed leaving us with a few unanswered questions which I'm hoping might be cleared up in the next book.

I liked the story but there was so much push and pull and the heroine was a real pushover until the end. I also really hated the parents in this book... what a bunch of losers!!!

This is a great series though, but now I am gonna have to finish reading Colby's story ;)

The Enemy is the fourth book in the Haven Grace Prep series by Kelsey Clayton. This is Cade and Lennon's story and is told in dual perspectives.

Cade Knight, an eighteen year old surfer, has just learned that his parents are divorcing. This comes as quite a shock to him, but even more so when he learns his mother is to blame. Then to top it off, his mother and kid sister are leaving to move in with her new beau and his teenage daughter. He has no intention of tagging along until he realizes this is the perfect way to set into motion his plan for revenge - to somehow break them up so that he can reunite his parents.

Lennon Bradwell, a dancer with plans to attend Julliard, is her father's pride and joy. It's been just the two of them since her mom up and left, without a word, when she was just a little girl. So she is thrown for a loop when her father drops a bomb on her - his new girlfriend and her two kids will be moving in. The older of the two kids is a teenage son who is about her age. She tries to be welcoming to him, but the two bump heads at every turn.

I loved each and every second of this book - the undeniable chemistry, the banter, the sexual tension, the angst and the drama. I also enjoyed seeing more of the characters in the previous books in this series - especially Colby. He holds a special place in my heart. I'd love to see him get his own book one day. To see him meet a girl who will make him change his playboy ways.

All in all, this was a fantastic enemies-to-lover's book that I hope you will all pick up and read. 5 stars for Cade, Lennon and The Enemy!

"We were doomed from the start..."

After The Rebel, I was waiting like crazy Lennon's story and honestly, I didn't know what to expect.
Kelsey is doing some unexpected matches in her books and i'm dying to see what she is having in store for us for the next time...
Lennon was a wonderful and quiet girl and i wanted to learn more about her...
Well, Lennon in here was pure fire! Added to the mix hotheaded Cade and you will receive an explosive result.

"Everything I've ever known is about to change."

Lennon is daddy's little princess since the day her mother left them behind. She is spoiled in material things, but she is very levelheaded.
There were always the two of them against the world, but out of nowhere, her father is announcing to her that he is having a girlfriend and that she is about to move into their house along with her two kids, one of them around the same age as her...
Imagine her shock in this new arrangement!!!

"Some people come into your life that make you question everything you've ever believed in. Cade is one of those people for me."

Cade is a free-spirited surfer, but his world is changing drastically in a matter of a couple of weeks...
His parents are divorcing and the reason of that is that his mother is seeing another guy and not only that but she is moving in with him....
So, Cade is being forced to follow her in order to keep his eyes upon his little sister.
But he is angry and determined to bring the responsible man on his knees no matter what.
He hasn't count the big attraction that he will have for this man's daughter, but he is determined and he won't allow anything get in his way...

"I'll do whatever it takes to repair my broken family, and I'll have no sympathy if you're caught in the crossfire."

Well, as you can realize, there was a big attraction in here between Cade and Lennon, but they will fighting it with toes and nails...
Some days they were succeeding but others they were just counting wounds of all this hurting that they were doing to each other...
To say that i didn't enjoyed this wild ride, i would have foolled you!!!
It was sooo refreshing to see these two battering all the time when their eyes were sparkling from desire...

"You stand here, up in your ivory tower, untouchable to everyone -but not me. No. Mark my words. One day, I'll claim your mind, your body, your innocence. One day, you're going to be mine."

Cade was being an asshole most of the time and possessive as fuck, even though he had no right, but i freakin' liked him!!!!
From times to times, he was slipping and he was becoming tender but usually it was shortlived.
Lennon was always sweet and preppy, but Cade was making her hot and bothered and not always in a meaningful way!!!
Her fire was showing and the result was explosive!!!

"I'd rather ruin her and then fuck her while she's broken down to nothing."

"His last name might be Knight, but he's far from dressed in shining armor and he's definitely not here to save me."

The truth is that in the end, i was left a little bit unsatisfied!!!! I needed a little bit more, but hopefully, i will get it in some other way soon!!!
I just needed a little bit more infos, but i enjoyed AND this ride on this series very, very much!!!
If you haven't read this series yet, i totally recommend them!!!
They will hook you from the first moment. Trust me!

"She was nothing to me, until she became everything."

This is the fourth and I believe that the last book in the Haven Grace series prep and comes to tell the story of Lennon, and although her pair is not who I was believing it was still a good read.

Here is the story of Lennon, tessa's best friend from the previous book, a young woman who is months away from graduation, sees her life tumult when her father announces that his new girlfriend and children will move in with them. Cadê is a young surfer who sees his world turn inside out when he discovers that his mother has not only betrayed his father, but is leaving him to live with her new boyfriend and will take her youngest daughter with her.He is an angry boy who wants to rejoin his parents. The beginning of their relationship is one of enmity (more on the part of Cadê), although both cannot deny that they feel attraction between them.

I liked them and while I found some of their actions immature we have to remember that they are acting only as young people of their age. I liked them but I confess that I felt that something was missing here in the story in terms of romance, it didn't win me as much as the previous ones.

I liked the appearance of the characters from the other books here, it was cool to be able to see a little more of them, and also the appearance of new characters that maybe they could win a story in the future.

The enemy brings a story of enemies for lovers that came to close I believe the story of this series and that although it was not my favorite it was still a good read.

'The enemy' is the fourth book of the 'haven Grace Prep' series by the best selling author Kelsey Clayton. Told in dual perspectives , this book was one hell of a stepbrother bully Romance!

Cade and Lennon were pretty much the opposites of each other and their love story was one hell of an explosive tale! Cade thought he had a happy family ,that is until he gets the news that his parents are divorcing. And on top of that , he is moving in with his mother's new boyfriend and his new stepsister. These turn of events quickly make his new stepfather , his number one enemy and his daughter too!

Lennon is a full daddy's girl. So she is shocked to hear that her father is in a relationship and his new girlfriend is moving in their house. That too with her kids who are around her age. From that moment , Lennon and Cade became enemies and that led to a lot of hate fueled moments.

Their hate did nothing to hide the desire they felt for each other and soon surrendered to their feelings! I loved their passionate tale and every sweet money had me swooning so hard! This book is a definite recommendation to all the contemporary romance lovers out there who would love themes like stepbrother bully romance!!

Kelsey Clayton has delivered the perfect conclusion to this addictive series. Revenge, angst, a fiery push-pull tension, captivating and nuanced characters, and a dash of the forbidden? What more could you ask for! Lennon and Cade surprised me, and each other, at every turn. Their connection is explosive and consuming- I could not stop reading.

Perfect daddy’s girl Lennon has her life arranged just as she wants it- she’s finally landed the boyfriend she’s been coveting, her dance career is set, she has the love and support of her doting father, and an amazing group of friends. But daddy dearest rocks her carefully curated worldview when he brings a new girlfriend home to live with them- and her two children. Even more disruptive is that her son is a full grown man who just so happens to be the sarcastic surfer that Lennon has a combative encounter with just days prior...and he’s not happy to be there. Cade, our surly surfer, has had his happy little bubble shattered in the last few days- his adulterous mother has broken up his happy home, not only leaving his father but moving in with her rich, snobby boyfriend and taking his baby sister- leaving him no choice but to live there, too. Cade vows to get revenge and break-up his mother’s new found happy rich mommy life- and the intriguing Lennon won’t agree to be his ally, so she may just become a casualty of war, because to Cade if you aren’t an ally, you’re the enemy.

I have been dying for Lennon’s story since we first met her- I wanted to get underneath the sweet, privileged dance princess, and dare I say, she may now be my favorite Kelsey leading lady. She’s truly a revelation- not at all what I thought she’d be. Sure, she still has the sweetness we’ve seen before, and she’s most certainly the stoic achiever and devoted friend. But, we see so much more to Lennon. She’s kind and empathetic- incredibly forgiving and patient, but she also has so much integrity, so much fortitude of character. Of all the heroines, I think she knows herself the best- and she’s unwilling to compromise on her values. I loved her authenticity. And I also love that she has spunk- she’s got a quiet strength that truly shines in this book, and she’s also got some fire in her, too.

And Cade, well, Cade is going to make you mad. He’s probably the most flawed of Kelsey’s leading men- he’s quick to act on emotions, and he can be a bit reckless, and he’s just so angry, which makes him irrational at times. He makes a lot of mistakes- he jumps to conclusions and is impulsive at times, but this man also has such a sweet and tender heart underneath it all. He’s been burned by trusting others, former friends and now his own mother, so he’s wounded, he’s hurt- and it causes him to act in ways that he wouldn’t otherwise. I really dug his imperfections, because it gave his character arc more depth and gave him more room to grow. And he does- in the same ways he does things to make me mad, he does things that warmed my heart. Even when Cade is at his worst, his kindness and light shines through. He loves so hard, he lives so freely. And he redeems himself, so very much.

This is way slower burn than Kelsey fans will be used to- and while I prefer a faster burn myself, I think it fits this story, and most importantly, fits Lennon. Lennon’s integrity, her keen sense of self and her own self-worth, are what I love most about her- and a character like that respects herself too much to succumb to Cade too quickly. That means we linger a long time in the love-hate angst- and it is ANGSTY, friends. This is by far Kelsey's most angsty book- which gives her a ton of room to explore and play with this love hate chemistry. And it is fantastic- I felt the push and the pull down in my soul. Kelsey so brilliantly lets the friction create sparks, building a frenetic emotional and sexual tension. The banter and antics all build into an explosively passionate relationship. What was most magical is just how these two “get” each other- they are opposites in many ways, but they understand one another in ways that others don’t see. At their core, these are two characters who have been greatly harmed by the invisible actions of their parents, but who have done their best to live joyfully and openly. These are two characters who just want to do what is right, to find what is real- and somehow they do in each other. When the world around them crumbles, it turns out it is only their enemy who can make it whole again.

Fans will be happy to know that we get some great cameos from all of our former favorites, and we especially get some great time from Tessa and Colby, and surprisingly Knox. As a hard core Colby fan, I can tell you Kelsey does him justice- I fell more deeply in love with him but I also understand and feel confident that Lennon and Colby were not the pair we wanted or needed. Cade and Lennon are the perfect match, and Colby’s role in this book is perfect.

I'm going to miss this Haven Grace Prep series- but thank goodness we have a spin off coming. I'm not ready to say goodbye to these characters I adore! Thank you, Kelsey, for creating such encompassing and addictive stories and for giving me this dimensional, flawed, and so incredibly captivating characters that I will love forever.

Meh. Didn’t love. Didn’t hate. No Smex until 84%. 🤨 This would have been a better read if it had been an mfm with Cade and Colby. That hope was the only reason I finished, and alas, that isn’t what happened. #wompwomp The 1st 2 books in this series are better.

Ok, after the ending of the previous book I thought for sure this would be Lennon and Colby’s story. Completely and surprisingly unexpected turn of events…it wasn’t. But that’s okay because who doesn’t love a stepbrother romance with all the forbidden and angsty feels and some serious sexual tension.

Kelsey’s writing always captivates me from the start, and I flew through this book. In saying that, the actual plot didn’t agree with me. I am a lover of angst and a hot and cold relationship, but unfortunately, I think there was a bit too much push and pull. There was so much build-up of them both denying their feelings and attraction and the conclusion just didn’t meet the expectations I had. The ending felt rushed and I was seriously wondering how the story was going to conclude with little to no book left. I had a lot of answered questions, but obviously can’t state them because that may give away spoilers.

I am a lover of Kelsey’s writing and have loved every single one of her books but unfortunately this wasn’t one of them. Even though it wasn’t for me, I did love the dynamic between the rest of the secondary characters. In saying that I cannot wait to see what she writes next. Fingers crossed Colby’s story is next.

***5 “I’d die without you” AND ENEMY STARS***

Forbidden stepbrother romances are one of my favourite tropes, and Kelsey Clayton did it justice with The Enemy, and then some!

The Enemy is book #4 of the Haven Grace Prep series, and although this can be read as a standalone, the series is best read in order to feel the full effects of the story and relationships between each of the characters.

Broody, alphahole stepbrother? Check.

Badass and sassy heroine who gives as good as she gets? Check.

Forbidden romance? Check.

Tons of chemistry, witty banter and sexual tension so thick you could cut through it with a knife? Check, check, and MF’ing check.

I knew there was something special brewing between Lennon Bradwell and Cade Knight from the moment they set eyes on each other at a party, only to learn soon after that they would become stepsiblings. The surfer bad boy shouldn’t fit so well with the preppy little dancer, yet they were so perfect together.

I wasn’t joking when I said I could read these characters forever; the Haven Grace Prep world has easily become one of my favourite fictional happily places ever. And I’m beyond thrilled to learn that Kelsey will soon be releasing a spin-off series. Eeeek.

A YA forbidden romance with all the feels. Becoming part of a blended family was not something either of them expected. This enemies to lovers romance will bring the drama and the heat.

Cade may be eighteen, but you are never ready for your family to be broken apart. His parents just announced they are divorcing. Not only that, his mother is moving him and his sister into her new boyfriend’s mansion.

Lennon is a spoiled daddy’s girl. It’s always just been the two of them, until now. Her father is moving in his new girlfiend and her two kids. All she wanted was to finish high school, dance and hang out with her friends. She didn’t want a new family.

Sparks are going to fly. Cade wants his family back and he’s willing to do what he has to to make that happen. Lennon wants her life back too, but not at the expense of her father’s happiness. She’s just become enemy number one! If you aren’t with Cade, then you’re against him.

He’s just a guy pursuing his dream of becoming a pro surfer. He never expected to be dropped into a new family. He surely never expected Lennon. She’s supposed to be the enemy, but his attraction is too real to deny. She may hate him, but the lines are beginning to blur.

When they both find out their parents are keeping secrets and aren’t the people they believed them to be, the enemies become allies. The sexual tension hits an all time high and they are about to cross a line there is no coming back from. They’ll have to decide whether to walk away or find the happiness they deserve.

Cade is not a bad guy. He just wanted to keep his family together and surf. His attraction to Lennon was undeniable. She’s a good girl. She’s driven and sweet, but she will take you down if you hurt her. She just wanted to find someone who would choose her. They may have started out as enemies, but that hate turned to love. They just needed to decide if loving each other was worth it, as their love would not come without sacrifice.

This story has best friends, bad boy drama, intense chemistry and a love that was worth the risk. Plus all our favorite past characters made an appearance. A great addition to a series I enjoy.

“I hate that I’m so bad for you.”

I am a sucker for forbidden romances—such a high to read. The Enemy is a drug that I devoured ... defying, daring and decadent. I couldn’t put this book down. Kelsey Clayton has crafted another achingly addictive, angst-bleeding, all-the-feels romance that’s heart-pounding perfection. The Enemy is EVERYTHING!!!

The Enemy is the tale of a heartbreakingly handsome hero seeking revenge on the family that tore his apart and the stunning and strong heroine caught in his crossfire
who quickly becomes his world. Lennon is a beautiful dancer whose perfectly plotted life is turned upside down by Cade, a surfer who’s holy ovary-hitting hot! This intense alpha was my undoing, unraveling me everywhere.

Lennon and Cade are mesmerizing together with their push and pull, hitting me like waves ... all the highs and lows. The connection between the hero and heroine was combustible and inevitable from the start. I couldn’t help but fall for these complex yet caring characters who instantly captured my heart. All the love for the Haven Grace Prep cast of characters who I never want to let go.

A roller coaster of a romance with all the thrills, tension, ups, downs, delicious butterflies, and fierce feels, The Enemy owned every ounce of me. I ached for this story, a lethal fusion of love and hate. I felt the angst. I felt the heartbreak. I felt the hope. I felt the heart-fluttering love. I FELT EVERYTHING! This strong, heart-stopping, heady romance stole my heart and breath from beginning to end. I was so love-struck by The Enemy. I burned for this book.

Another top 2020 romance by Kelsey Clayton!

This book was everything I like about Enemies to Lovers and more! And the cover 🤤🤤 no words needed.

Lennon‘s story has been coming for a while now and I didn‘t expect it to turn like that. This book is a standalone but features the characters of the previous books so I recommend reading those too.

The story between Lennon and Cade is an angsty one. It is a real slow burn. You think they would finally be together but no, Kelsey throws us another twist and we impatiently wait again.

Cade, his mother and sister move in with Lennon and her father after Cade‘s parents divorce due to his mother cheating on his father. It becomes clear quite quickly that Cade is out for revenge and doesn‘t care who‘s in his way.

My enemies to lovers heart loved this book just a little to much. The characters where amazing and I especially liked that you couldn‘t foresee anything that might happen.

Cade is so pissed that his mom is breaking up their family that he vows revenge on the man she cheated on his dad with. Who better to help him with that revenge than the man's daughter?

Lennon has a great life: a boyfriend she loves, friends who always have her back, and her father, the only parent in her life, the one who raised her on his own and dotes on her. So when that father tells her he's moving his new girlfriend and her kids into their home, let's just say his announcement will bring a change to her wonderful life.

Young Adult fiction can veer too heavily on the angsty, rife with teenage bad behavior and self-absorption and moodiness, and I gotta say that The Enemy stepped over that line a few times. I wanted to smack not just one character more than once, but both of them, when they acted like typical obnoxious teens. But, as a whole, this is another good installment of the Haven Grace Prep series. The chemistry, the antagonism, the snark and emotion between Lennon and Cade is really satisfying. These two may not be my favorite couple in this series, that title belongs to Tessa and Asher in The Rebel, but I still enjoyed seeing these two "enemies" become everything to each other.

~ 4.5 Serious Angst Stars ~

Talk about a totally angsty and frustrating story. But it was also all encompassing....I couldn’t put it down.

I loved the storyline of this book but I have to say that Lennon made this book for me. I totally loved Lennon when we met her in the earlier books and couldn’t wait to read her story. As for Cade...I had a love/hate relationship with him. It truly was more hate then love. I think I spent more of this story rolling my eyes at his attitude and behavior or yelling at my kindle because of him being a jerk then I did swooning over him.

The Enemy is the 4th book in this series by Kelsey Clayton and I will say this was my least favorite of the series. Now that in no means means I didn’t enjoy this read and would totally recommend it to other readers. I just think because of Cade...it wasn’t my favorite. I fell harder for Kelsey’s other Heroes in this series.

This is a stand-alone but this is a series I would recommend reading in order because there is some overlap in the timeline of the stories. I thought the flow and pace of the story worked well.

I would 100% recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of high school aged romance but is more the New Adult Genre due to content of the story. If you have read Kelsey Clayton’s books already then you don’t want to miss this latest gem!!! If you haven’t experienced Kelsey’s writing yet...what are you waiting for....start this series NOW!!!

“I grip her hips and flip us around so she's lying beneath me. "Please don't hate me for this."
In one harsh thrust, I shove myself inside of her and feel as her hymen snaps. She shrieks, but I swallow it down with a heated kiss. I don't stop to let her adjust, don't ask her how she's doing or if she's okay. I can't. My only focus is how good she feels wrapped around my dick, like she was made just for me.”
virgin or not, this is NEVER okay.

The Enemy is Book Four in the Haven Grace Prep Series. Each book features a new couple.

This is Lennon and Cade’s Story.

I am just gonna start off with saying that this series, this world, these characters have simply become one of my favourite series of 2020. Each book that this author releases just gets better and better. She has a way with her words and has you eating them out of the palm of her hand.

You know that feeling you get when you read the first few pages of a book and you just know that this book is going to rock your world in the best way possible. This is the feeling I got when I started this book, it pulled me in mind, body and soul. It grasped my attention from those beginning pages and quite frankly there was no escaping or stopping because this book had me in its crutches and didn’t let go.

Everything about this book pulls you in, like a rip in the ocean dragging you out into the unknown.

This is simply one of my favourites out of this series, there was just something about this book that just stood out more then the others.

This a forbidden step-brother romance done at its finest and let me tell you, you’ll love every single second learning about these characters.

Are you ready to meet Cade who is our broody, asshole type of guy who gives you whiplash left right and centre. Although this guy may come across as being an Alphahole but that’s because deep down he harbours this anger, sadness and pain to do with his parents. As the story unfolds, you see those walls slowly breaking down and in place is a guy that I fell for, the one that would do anything to care, and protect his family.

We then have Lennon, I’ve loved Lennon from the beginning, there was just something about her. She’s strong, fiery, badass and sassy as fuck. There’s one thing about her is that she is quick witted and gives as good as she gets.

From the moment these two met they had this insane connection from the minute they met at a party.

One Party, One Encounter that put each other on the same path, then the next day when they meet again, their lives change dramatically.!

From the blurb it sort of gives you the slightest insight of what to expect, but the blurb is only a figure of the imagination of the other stuff that you see follow through the rest of the book.

The sexual tension and chemistry between them was fire. They constant battle of wills leaps off the pages and you can’t help but chuckle at what they do to one another. These two are in a predicament and must decide if the hate they felt, that turned into love is worth losing everything.

Kelsey brings the heat, the hate, and the steam. Two characters who fight and battle against everything to get their hea!

This was the final book in the series and it's sad to see it go, but it ended so well - with the perfect wrap up and ending for Cade and Lennox, along with glimpses of nearly all the characters from the previous books. It was amazing definitely worth the 5 stars, everyone needs to go and read this series! Although it’s not really the end is it? I’m beyond thrilled to learn that Kelsey will soon be releasing a spin-off series. Eeeek.

I’m seriously obsessed with Kelsey Clayton and this entire series. Kelsey’s writing style sucks you right into the plot. You get like you’re living your like through the main characters of get books. I seriously can’t get enough of her books since they keep me up all night long reading them.

Lennon and Cade had a bumpy start to their relationship, but the only difference is that Kelsey knows exactly how to weave you into the storyline from the very first page. The chemistry between the 2 is explosive from the very start of the book. Wow 🤩

Cade and Lennon will take you on a beautiful and emotional journey!! Their love is shown through every page of the book. I absolutely loved this series and it saddened me to know that the series ended with this book, but Kelsey has earned herself another hardcore fan and a total reader to her old books and her future upcoming books for life.

2 *Once again nothing new* stars

I really thought that this would be my favourite in the series. So far I have liked each book better than the last, but sadly this just reverted right back to everything I disliked with the first book. It's just a very typical dark high school bully romance.

"In one harsh thrust, I shove myself inside of her and feel as her hymen snaps. She shrieks, but I swallow it down with a heated kiss. I don't stop to let her adjust, don't ask her how she's doing or if she's okay. I can't. My only focus is how good she feels wrapped around my dick, like she was made just for me."

Oh my god. Isn't that so sweet? He rips her open, without a care for her (being a virgin and all) but it's cool because GUYS she was "made just for him". How fucking sweet.

It also had all the usual elements:

- Weak heroine, IMO. Fight me okay? Yeah she grabs him by his balls and does a few other things but bleh. It still felt like to me that she gave in to him so easily. If you're cool with that, awesome. I'd prefer a little more fight ya know?
- Real juvenile stuff, i.e. the bullying/pranks etc. I just don't care for it anymore.
- The reason for the bullying: much like the first one I felt like the reasoning was pretty lame.
- Nothing new: basic rich people problems, parents splitting up, kids acting like adults, parties all the time. Seen it all before.
- Almost insta love? The attraction came on fast, which is fine, but there wasn't enough build up for me to feel like it really was taboo (the step-brother thing). It didn't feel like it was forbidden at all.

At least Lennon wasn't AS weak as Sav. Then again, after he's been such an ass to her, her body is so desperate for him she's more than happy to give him a BJ and then have him throw it in her face later. Awesome.

Cluster of words

I have whiplash from their back and forth, I want you no I don't. I felt like nothing was really resolved, his parents and why did the mom really do what she did. She never spoke of her mom and all of the sudden she returns at the end for 2 sentences?! Why bring her back if it's left it up in the air.

This book was done out of whim, it's what it felt like. Just write words to fill the pages but going no where.

I almost dnf. The couple didn't have any chemistry, Cade is a douche, Lennon is a pushover, hardly believe that they would be a couple that would last longer than a year, because they both have the mentality of two 5 year olds. He was just a man child with no maturity whatsoever.
Really liked 'The rebel' but this one just fell flet.

I have need Lennon's book since The Rebel. Maybe because I just loved her and Colby so much I needed them to be together and needed to see it happen. Yes! I said I was team Colby and Lennon and I'm not sorry. That doesn't mean for one minute I didn't like Cade.

Cade frustrated me so much I wanted to punch him while hugging him. He drove me crazy. The back and forth struggle he had with himself was enough to send me over the edge. But I loved him! Lennon is the best friend of Tessa from The Rebel. I loved her when she did the right thing not the easy thing at the end of The Rebel. But with Lennon there is more than meets the eye. Her story isn't exactly how I thought it would play out.

Kelsey Clayton had me absolutely hooked on Lennon and Cade. I loved every second of The Enemy. Clayton just has this way of writing that makes me need more and more. I love the characters she has created with Haven Grace Prep. Throw in the hot surfer that Cade, and his stepbrother off limitness and I was done.

Can I just say I need a book for Colby? I love him and he needs his happy. But again that goes back to this world Clayton has created. It's perfect.

The Enemy is a 5 star must read! Clayton has quickly become one of my favorites.

Ohhhh, my Little Lennon. I love you. You fit right in with Savi, Delaney, and Tessa. Your strong will and fierce nature are amazing. You’re a bit of a spitfire, eh?

And Cade, well... you’re something. Just because I don’t love you as much as Gray, Knox, and Asher doesn’t because I don’t like you all the same.

While The Enemy may not have been my favorite book in the series, I still love this entire universe so, so much. Now bring me Colby Hendrix!

Too many loose ends

We meet Cade, Lennon's love interest. He's a 19 year old surfer guy who can't and does not want to understand how his mom could just drop his dad for another man. This is how Cade comes to live in Lennon's house. We're led to believe that the only reason Cade follows his mom to her new pad is because he wants to be close to his little sister. But that is soon for gotten as he rarely ever spends time with her. Instead we see Cade surfing with his friends and plotting revenge against Lennon. I honestly can't even remember the name of the little sister because she becomes an afterthought. She's sent to camp and to the grandparents when mom is too busy with her new man. Cade or his father never even try to put up a fight or even volunteer to take care of the little sister. So yeah, that whole line about Cade being an overprotective loving older brother does not fly with me.
Also, I understand that Cade hates his mom's guts for walking out on his dad and moving in with her new man BUT he never once talks to her about it. Like seriously there is no communication in that household.
I don't understand why Kelsey Clayton has a penchant for writing stories were the parents are always vilified. Anyways, enough of that.

What I did like was the banter and the chemistry between Lennon and Cade. I also liked Cade's friends. I kinda liked that Lennon wasn't a complete pushover but sometimes she acted so immature. Everytime there was a conflict at home she would run to Colby.

Now don't even get me started on Colby. What type of 26 yearl old, NFL superstar hangs around with a bunch of teenagers that are under the age to be legally drinking? So he would risk his career like that? It doesn't add up. Plus Colby being the superstar he is shouldn't he be at camp training or going on vacation. What about friends his age? Ugh! This just drove me nuts !!

Finally we get to the end. Surprise, surprise when Cade make his big cut and becomes a surfing sensation we never even hear about his dad and his little sister. It's like these two very mportant people (or so he claimed throughout the book) never even existed to begin with.

As I said to many loose ends.

PLEASE PLEASE, throw me into the ocean now with Cade because I'm sure I'm burning up and my Kindle.

My eyes were already burning with intrigue at the first chapter, I mean what a fucking start! I say this every time I read a book by Kelsey, "this is my favorite" THEN she releases this damn masterpiece. Part 4 of this series is another level of pure happiness.

Cade and Lennon, oh wow what a DUO! This duo was so fun to follow, all the tricks up there sleeves, hot moments, the constant back and forth teasing. The guy has the dirtiest talk I're heard from a guy who's barely out of school. PLEASE, I was lucky that there were a lot of surf scenes in this book, it felt like I was cooled off from chapter to chapter, Lucky for him it matches Lennons dirty dirty mind.
I enjoyed Lennon very much from the from the earlier books. I was unsure what her journey would be like, but I was not disappointed.

This book is PACKED is loaded with adrenaline, trust me on this one.
Do i dare to guess that Colby gets his own book? :)

The moment his parents sit him and his little sister down and tell them they are divorcing and his mother is moving in with her new beau, Cade Knight instantly wants revenge. Not for himself, but for his father who is completely blindsided by the whole ordeal, how could his mother be so selfish? Now he finds himself moving into a man's mansion that he despises and coming face to face with his spoiled and demanding daughter. Ya, this is definitely going to be fun for him, the ideas of ways to torture them both are just rolling in...

But then he starts to get to know said daughter and things start to take an interesting turn, one he never planned for, he actually likes her, and suddenly the idea of hurting her to tick off her father doesn't sound like such a good idea. Now he wants to keep the girl and still get his revenge... which is destined to reek havoc on all of their lives!

The Enemy is a story of one family falling apart and the union of another, but the union isn't received well by their children. Cade and Lennon find themselves quickly trapped in a impossible situation, while she loves her father, she also doesn't love the fact that he ruined another family to get his newfound happiness. Cade doesn't like the man his mother has chosen as her new mate, nor does he like the fact that she crushed his father in the process, so getting revenge is the only way out of this nightmare. But then he meets Lennon and she changes all his plans, he knows he is no good for her, but he can't seem to convince his head and heart of that fact. He tries to keep her at an distance, but she seems to want him as much as he wants her, even though they both know it is wrong. Watching these two waver back and forth between right and wrong was rough on the heart, it was evident they belonged with one another, but outside forces kept driving a wedge between them. This is one of those stories that will have your heart in your throat one moment, and reveling with delight in the next, it's a heart- squeezer that is for sure! Highly recommend this one it's pages are bound to take you on one heck of an emotional ride!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.

This was one of the best enemies to lovers stories I have read in a long while. The angst between the characters was so immense, the tension so thick you’d need a machete to cut through it. I loved every minute of it.

The two lead characters, Cade and Lennon, were so antagonistic towards each other from their first meeting. The situation they found themselves in only exacerbated the tension, in all ways. I have to say I liked Lennon in book three, The Rebel, and it was great getting to know her better in this book, seeing her stand up for herself and fight for what she believes is right. Cade, being a new character was intriguing, he was very arrogant and confident, as many young adult males are, yet the bottom of his world literally was pulled away from him and his vulnerabilities caused him to do some crazy things. I really did feel for him and for his sister Molly, not to mention his father. So, while I didn’t always like how he reacted I did understand and sympathise.

What I liked was the idea of Cade and Lennon as a couple, even though I thought it would never happen! It’s close to a taboo, stepsister story yet it isn’t really and although they identify that that fact is a possibility it isn’t sleazy in any way. Their chemistry was sizzling until it became scorching hot. This rocky relationship had more pitfalls than any popular electronic game but also added to the excitement of the story.

Great descriptions of the settings, especially the beach scenes which were fantastic and the characters and their feelings, had you completely embedded in the story, as well as emotionally entangled too. I honestly wanted to shake a few characters until their teeth rattled I became so annoyed and/or disappointed with them. 😆

This young adult love story shows huge growth in the characters and even a couple of older adults too. I totally recommend it and the whole series to everyone, I wasn’t a huge fan of young adult stories but this series is sensational.

Sweet and salty is the perfect combination in The Enemy where we return to Haven Grace Prep with Lennon Bradwell and are introduced to Cade Knight.

Lennon may be from one of the richest families and live in a house that resembles an actual castle, but she is far from a spoiled princess. From all of the people we've met along the way, Lennon is one of the sweetest, loyal, and truly cares deeply for the few people in her life. She has lived a fairly sheltered life, which makes the circle of people in her world rather small, but those in it she accepts 100%, that makes not liking Cade Knight that much harder when his family moves into her home. Her entire life has just been her and her father so when Nora, Molly, and Cade Knight all move in she is willing to give them a chance because it makes her father happy, but Cade is anything but the ideal new housemate. He decides to make their lives miserable and torn between making her father happy and getting along with Cade Lennon finds herself in new territory.

Cade Knight is angry. He's never found himself in this position before in his entire life. He thought his parents were happy, but then his mother comes home and tells him that not only are his parents getting a divorce, but also that they are moving into her new boyfriends house. His world is turned upside down and he vows to never get along with his "new family". It doesn't help his anger that the potential new stepsister living in the house is beautiful, sweet, and she's dating one of his least favorite people. Lennon Bradwell becomes public enemy #1 in his book and he'll do everything to make her life miserable.

Cade and Lennon have a constant back and forth, a real test of wills that not only shows their weaknesses for each other, but also unknowingly builds their relationship from the inside. These two are true fire and kindling and only burn hotter the more they push each other buttons.

In this angsty bully romance should the princess rescue the knight so they can live happily ever after or will the knight push the princess out of her tower so they can burn a new trail to their own happiness? Find out how the sweet and salty get to their HEA in this angsty new book.
