Moretti Mafia #1

Mafia Prince

Rate this book
Everything good in his life started and ended with Lorna Bianchi.

It began ten years ago on a hot summer night. Before she walked out on him.
But Alessandro never let it go.
Even if she was a Don’s daughter. Sole heiress to the Bianchi empire.
Destined to wed the eldest Moretti brother as an alliance between their families.
She was also his.

And he wasn’t giving her up this time.
Not for family. Not for money. Not for power.

He was the shadow in the back of her mind.
The one she could never escape no matter how hard she tried.
Ten years was a long time, but not long enough for her body to forget the heat of his hands on her skin.

One look was all it took and she knew that nothing had changed between them.
He was colder. Crueler. More determined than ever.
She might be back to marry his brother, but Alessandro wasn’t letting her go.

**Mafia Prince is a full length second-chance mafia romance standalone in the Moretti Mafia series.**

"The only words I want to hear out of your mouth are yes, no, and Alessandro."
description

Mafia Prince is a second chance romance full of mafia action, passion, and romance. Lorna Bianchi has one job to do which is whatever her father tells her to do. Working as a Mafia Princess, she has found success in the big bad Mafia World. When her father tells her she needs to marry a Moretti, she knows she must do exactly what is asked of her. The only problem is that she is in love with the wrong Moretti. Alessandro is no stranger to the beautiful Lorna Bianchi. After sharing a passionate fling, the thought of her marrying his older brother makes him sick. But when love and loyalty are on the line, only one can conquer!

"I like to watch you come undone."
Told in multiple POV, Mafia Prince is a creatively crafted story set in a Mafia World. Although I found the family dynamics to be intriguing the connection between Lorna and Alessandro was a slow burn for me. Lorna was such a strong woman that I had a hard time understanding why she would acquiesce to her father's wishes but I guess the desire to do right by her family was an integral part of her life. Overall, the passion between the main characters was smoking hot and I enjoyed every second of the two together.
"He couldn't lose her."
Overall, Mafia Prince will appeal to readers who enjoy a second chance romance. Although it is definitely a Mafia book, it is Mafia lite and would appeal to readers that are drawn to the romantic elements of a read as opposed to a book focused on the Mafia lifestyle. This was my first book Lucia Black book and I would definitely read her again!

This story is a continuation of Alessandro and Lorna's tale but 10 years later. There is still over the top electrified attraction but Lorna is to be married to someone else. Duty binds her and she believes she will marry because the families have decided.
This story grabbed me from page one and held on tightly.

I love the bond Mafia families make, the chemistry and banter in this book was really good at keeping you engaged.

Lorna Bianchi is independent, strong, and at times cold, but totally invested in her father’s illegal business, which she runs with an iron-clad fist. Lorna has lived her life for the family and being an only child, everything falls on her shoulders. When her father requires her to marry for the sake of the family, Lorna obliges. The commitment is to enter into a pre-arranged marriage with the Moretti family. She knows it is what is expected. However, there is just one problem. She has a past with her new fiancé’s brother. Alessandro walked away once before. But now, he is older, wiser, and still in love with her. Can he watch her walk down the aisle into the arms of his brother, or is it time to lay claim to what should have been his all along, and be damned with the family protocol? And more importantly, can he convince Lorna to do what her heart wants and not what is expected of her. I liked Alessandro's character, in the beginning, he was cocky however in the end, he became somewhat of a doormat for me. I was not a huge fan of Lorna. She was cold and unemotional, except in the bedroom. I think if we had had more background about their past relationship and how it ended maybe the story would have had more depth. I also felt like there were loads of fillers/ideas thrown in, but it did not go anywhere, especially with the uncle. For me personally, a mafia romance usually comes with some darkness and maybe some family rivalry/violence, but this family was just too sweet, and not much happened except for Alessandro feeling sorry for himself, and wanting Lorna. If you are looking for a sweet mafia romance, no drama, no violence, then I would recommend this book, however, if you are like me and want the drama, the violence, the huge plot twists, then sadly this one is not for you.
Just an okay read.

This book is the first book of the 'Moretti Mafia' series. It had dark elements and was a second chance Romance!

The story starts with the day Lorna is supposed to Marry Giovanni. But he is not the one who she wants. It is. His brother who has always had her attention. Alessandro is the one who she wants. Alessandro might have let her go once , but not this time. This time he is prepared to have her no matter what..

The storyline was good and I liked the steamy scenes too. It was a bit fast paced and it irritated me at times that the main characters won't have a decent conversation. So much could have been avoided if only they had talked. But no , they had to sit somewhere and sulk.

The dark Elements of this book were great and is a definite recommendation to all the dark Romance lovers out there!

Not having read any other books by Lucia Black before, I did not know what to expect before reading Mafia Prince. Needless to say, I was really impressed with the overall story and the characters as well. Black delivers a steamy mafia romance that deals with honoring the family business while trying to stay true to one self.

In the story we get to meet Lorna Bianchi and Alessandro Moretti, both born into very powerful mafia families. Yet, as the head of her family, Lorna is destined to marry Alessandro’s brother Giovanni no matter how much she doesn’t want to marry him. Having met as teens, she found Alessandro to be insufferable and always tormenting her. But it’s been ten years since they’ve seen each other, a lot of things have changed. Lorna is a power house in her family and already taking over the business in L.A. Yet, it only takes one call from her father to bring her back to reality and the fact that she needs to get married soon suddenly makes things complicated for her. She is aware of her duty and will marry Giovanni. It’s the minute she comes back to New York that she sees Alessandro again that she begins to have second thoughts putting her relationship with her family on the line.

Alessandro may be a Moretti and know all about duty to the family business, but even he can’t deny how much he feels for Lorna. They both have to honor their families, but he is not ready to give up on Lorna just yet. He will do anything to make her his again even if it means going against his own family.

Mafia Prince was such a page-turner, the characters have this sizzling chemistry from the beginning that made it hard to stop reading the book. The story just kept getting better and that’s all mainly due to reading both of the characters POV’s. We got to really understand where they were coming from and all the tough choices that they both needed to make in order to be together. The rest of the secondary characters were great, we got learn more about Alessandro’s siblings and I really hope the author keeps the series going with their stories. There was such a twist to the story as well that I didn’t see coming and the added to the mystery and suspense in the story. All in all, the story was great and the epilogue was very sweet. If you love a good mafia romance than I would highly recommend checking out Mafia Prince. I cannot wait to read what the author comes up with next! :)

“I’m going to marry your brother.”

“But you don’t want to.”

Mafia Prince is the first book in the Moretti Mafia Series. I had mixed feelings about this book. Some parts were great, and some fell short. For example, we know Alessandro and Lorna had a past but we did not get much details. They spent an entire summer together where they both fell in love with each other and then she left. We did not get to see any of that firsthand and they did not really discuss it. I have so many questions that I felt were unanswered and I think not getting more in depth in that storyline did a disservice to adding to the character depth. While I felt their connection, when it comes to second chance romances, I feel the reader needs to be on the ride with them to really get the full experience.

“I want to hear you scream.”

“Then give me something worth screaming about.”

While I understand that Lorna’s not your typical heroine since she is next in line to run the family, she seemed very cold. She barely showed her feelings, and it was almost like they had switched the typical H/h roles we see in most novels. We knew exactly how Alessandro felt and Lorna was a mystery. Her words did not match her actions.

“Does it make you feel like a big, strong man to push a woman against a wall and grope her?”

“If I have you up against a wall, it’s because you’re letting me.”

I missed the usual darkness that comes with a mafia romance. The families were nice and loving too which is strange for these types of books. I was also surprised that the situation with her uncle didn’t go anywhere. I hated that she kept that secret and that we didn’t get to see him get dealt with by the family. If you're looking for a mafia romance with no drama or violence, then this is perfect for you.

This was my first book by this author and although it's not like most mafia romance out there it was enjoyable and I'm glad I read it.

Lorna and Alessandro had a past that cemented the undeniable chemistry they shared but there was a huge family commitment and arranged marriage to Alessandro's brother Giovanni that stood in the way of them having their second chance after 10 years apart.

I loved the relationship that Alessandro had with his brothers they loved each other and supported each other unconditionally and wholly which is an admirable quality in any human but as competitiveness and jealousy sometimes outweigh the love in mafia families I really enjoyed the dynamic of this family. Not to say that there weren't other qualities that are undeniably "mob like" because there are but I enjoyed the love that the siblings shared.

I would refer to this as a "light mafia romance" as there is violence, threats and lightly brushes on mob dealings it doesn't pull you into the deep underground of mob life like other mafia romance novels have a tendency to do. I'm one that enjoys those dark mafia books and although this wasn't what I expected I found it to be delightfully entertaining

The storyline pulled me in immediately with the chemistry, banter between Lorna and Alessandro, and feels. The dynamic of both families was another part of this book that I adored. I'm looking forward to reading more by this author and diving into more of the Moretti Mafia.

It's finally here! I've wanted Mafia Prince since Lucia Black teased us with the short read of Mafia Princess. I know that it's said you don't need to read it, but seriously?! It really is better if you do read it so you can get a tiny taste of Lorna & Alessandro's past. Mafia Prince begins 10 years later with Lorna about to marry his older brother, but don't count Alessandro out just yet. Yeah, neither got over the other, but Lorna is a strong mafia princess who will always put family above all else, AND she's even running some things in the family business to boot. She may still love him, but she's going to marry his brother since she knew the score & her happiness doesn't matter when her father gives his word. However, the palpable chemistry that started 10 years ago, well, it's like they've never been apart, so you already know that it's only a matter of time. This was a great story that didn't follow the usual mafia script, and I totally loved that Alessandro was close to his family though his determination to get his girl back may cause some issues. Anyway, that's all from me, now it's your turn! I cannot wait for more in this series & HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Oh. My. God! This is was my first time I read a book of Lucia Black and it don't be the last.Mafia Prince is the first book in the Moretti Mafia Series

If you're a huge sucker for the second-chance mafia romance arranged marriage romance this will be right up your alley.

This books has put me through an emotional rollercoaster that's had me feeling utter joy, faith that maybe things will work out and absolute annihilation when they don't.

Lorna and Alessandro had a past that cemented the undeniable chemistry they shared but there was a huge family commitment and arranged marriage to Alessandro's brother Giovanni that stood in the way of them having their second chance after 10 years apart.

They are not two perfect parts that together form a whole, but rather two broken parts that fit together as if they were made for each other. It's beautiful and emotional to see their development, the support they give each other, the patience, the bravery, how they want to be what each other need

If you love mafia romance with second-chance  this is the book for you, this was amazing, raw ,edgy and crazy.❤

This book surprised me. When going into this book I thought that I was going to be given lots of drama, angst and family feud. But, although we did get angst between Alessandro and Lorna, the book was rooted deep in family ties and bonds and love - which I adored!

Throughout the book I found myself not liking Lorna that much, she was too pig-headed in some cases and extremely stubborn and defensive. It was made up by Alessandro being such a great character.

I loved the hints we got into other books and I'm super intrigued and excited to see where this series goes next.

I loved Alessandro's family, all of his brothers were amazing and I love the bond that they had between them I excited to read more about them in the future.

The relationship between Alessandro and Lorna had so much chemistry, every time they were together something ignited. It was great to read!

Check out this book when it comes out September 30th! You don't want to miss this new mafia series!

This Mafia read was different to other Mafia stories I have previously read. This story focused on the two main couples and their relationship more than the Mafia side of things. I really enjoyed the direction that the author took for this story.

Lorna was a strong female character that knew the dark side of her family's business and wasn't afraid to make sacrifices for her family. I really enjoyed it when she realised what she wanted in her life and how she fought for it.

Alessendro was the alpha male of the story that loved his family and would do anything for them even if it meant giving up the person he loves. But it didn't mean he didn't fight for Lorna and tried to show her to choose him. I really enjoyed Alessandro and found that he was perfect for Lorna.

The two main characters were perfect for each and had a lot of hot chemistry between them. I was really cheering for them throughout the story and enjoyed the family dynamics as well. I really hope we get to read more about Alessandro's siblings.

I loved reading Lorna and Alessandro story. Everything started ten years ago when Alessandro spent the summer with Lorna’s family. He fell in love that summer but she walked away when she knew she had to marry his brother. What is she going to do when she is promised to one brother but loves another.

“Welcome home,” he said. She stood there speechless for a moment. She knew in the back of her mind that he had the ability to break into places, but she hadn’t considered the fact that he would invade her space like this. He smirked and stretched on the couch, cat-like and proud. “I told you I’d see you tonight.”

This is a book you do not want to miss. This book is connected to the Their First Lady series and this is another series you should read. They are amazing!

I have received a free copy of this book for an honest review.

Lite mafia read - low drama - no violence
She had to choose loyalty to the family or love. Lorna and Alessandro have had a love hate relationship since the were on school and he used to pull her hair. They had a summer romance when they were 18. She, however, was promised to his brother. Now 10 years later it’s time for the wedding. You will appreciate Lorna. She is strong, smart, independent and will someday be the head of the Bianca crime family. Above all loyalty earns respect. She will marry one brother even though she is in love with another. Feelings are not a part of decision making. Alessandro loves Lorna. He needs to change her mind and get her to choose him. He would kill and be killed for Lorna. When things come to a head, he will have to find the strength to let her go.

This is the 1st story in a new series, and this is a fascinating introduction. Alessando and Lorna have a history but have not seen each other for 10-years. Now Lorna is back as it is her duty as the Don’s daughter to enter an arranged marriage to Giovanni who is Alessando’ s brother, which the two families arranged. Will these two get a 2nd chance at love? This is a well written story which is filled with family dynamics, violence, threats, intrigue, a tad angst, and witty and flirtatious banter, which all had me enthralled throughout and I look forward to reading more from this talented author and I recommend this for all.

So good! I love a good mafia romance. Add a second-chance to it and it’s a deal!
Lorna. She is certainly a spitfire. She is also a very loyal character who loves her family and would do whatever she needed for them.
Alessandro. He is also loyal and does whatever he could to keep the balance no matter the sacrifice. I loved his character development as well as Lornas.
If your looking for a good Mafia romance, here it is! Highly recommend it!

I fell in love with Lorna and Alessandro back in Mafia Princess and in Mafia Prince it made me fall in love with them all over again and more. The history that is between the characters, the forbidden aspect of the story, makes this story one that you can not put down as you want to know more. The storyline is very entertaining and unique, the drama, secrets, forbidden love and betrayal's that all happen in the sake of love are amazing!

The story follows 10 years later after Mafia Princess, where it's time for Lorna to marry Giovanni, Alessandro's brother.

This story kind of goes fast-paced. There's no dragging out stories, but there's a lot of push and pull between Lorna and Alessandro, that sometimes I got so frustrated with these two. I just want to smack the back of their heads. All it takes is for them to just be honest to confront their families, but no, they choose to stew and sulk. But I still enjoyed the story even if it's has less "mafia-ey" dramas in it.

This book was great!

I really enjoyed Alessandro and Lorna’s story.

After 10 years apart who would have thought the fire was still there! With family obligations in the way, one hard headed strong willed woman up against a man that would do anything for her is almost a recipe for disaster...almost!

Great read! Can’t wait to get my hands on the prequel AND the next installment! I knew there was going to be more to Luca and Caroline!

We first met Lorna and Alessandro in Mafia Princess and now 10 years later they are reunited for her wedding. I enjoyed the push and pull between the two their banter was fun and flirty. We get told Lorna is a tough cookie who has run cities for her dad but we never see it and I like my mafia stories with some bit and sadly it is lacking in this story.

Lorna and Alessandro are back and I loved seeing him not give up on her even when she was set to marry his brother. The dynamic between the family is great and the chemistry between Lorna and Alessandro is undeniable. Even though this is a mafia romance, it does not overpower the actual romance and the second chance of the characters.

A wonderful second chance story.

Alessandro and Lornas story started 10 years ago. They had a turbulent relationship. Now 10 years later she is to be married to Alessandros brother. Their family commitments are always first. But the chemistry between Alessandro and Lorna is so strong. This is a very mild mafia story.

PHEW! I loved seeing Alessandro & Lorna ten years later. The mafia aspect of the book wasn't as overwhelming as some other mafia books and I really liked that the focus was more on their relationships with their families. And their chemistry! It was just off the charts and I loved that as soon as Lorna was engaged to Alessandro's brother that he fought to get her back! It was so beautiful!!!

Sappy love story

This isn’t really a mafia romance. It’s a sappy love story. Alessandro is sweet but a big wuss. Lorna is cold. Like she should have been dubbed the ice queen in this book. Hated her character.
