THE DEVIL'S CROWN: is the second full length 'Mafia Romance,' book in the 'Devil Crown's' duet, by Monica James. Spoken in 'Dual Perspectives.' This is a continuation of Alek's and Ella's story.

2
After that cliffy and screaming at the author with how things left off in (Part: 1) I was highly anticipating this book!! I knew going by the hype that a lot of grit is going to reign down on us as he takes back the throne thats rightly been his..

This embodies exactly how a mafia duet should be done, dark, gritty, and highly addictive, everything I seek in the book world. The twists and turns came at me out of nowhere, spiking my anticipation levels and making this a profound unputdownable read! All mafia lovers of this genre won’t know what’s coming at them! Get ready for a high octane read!

This is the last book in this spin-off. In this book, we see what happens after the ending of the first book and how Alek tries to build his empire once again and get revenge on all the people that stand with his brother and we continue his story with Ella and what happens to her after she went to Santo.

This book makes me so anxious like every scene kept me at the edge of my seat because all the characters are unpredictable, I couldn’t predict their second move. I loved the bond between Alek, Saint, Williow, and Pavel, Their relationship was so beautiful after all the things they have been through they still look for each other in their ways. Alek and Iriana’s relationship was so beautiful he would do anything for her and he tries so hard to make her heal from what happened to her.

Ella and Alek’s journey was so intense they both went through hell they loved each other so much and tried to protect each other even if it will coasts them so much.

this book was so dark but the ending was so satisfying I LOVED IT SO MUCH. This series will hold a special place in my heart and I’ll definitely go back to it again♥️.

I need a minute because that was one hell of a ride!! This was gritty, unforgivable, and shock worthy with revengeful lust that will have you bracing for impact. Aleksei Popov is back and badder than ever and he wants his kingdom. You know what they say about fallen kings, once they get up and adjust their crown, be ready for a more ruthless king.

I fell in love with the first book of this duet and after reading the cliffhanger, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on part two. Alek was thrown a curveball and he wanted nothing more than to get back what was rightfully his including Ella. But things are far from what they seem and what was supposed to be a slightly tough climb to the top, will end up being the biggest fight of his life because he’s not going into battle. He’s going to war.

Told from dual pov’s The Devil’s Crown will have you biting your nails your nails until the very end. Everything that you thought can go wrong, will. Friends will be enemies, enemies will be friends and enemies, and you my friend, will need a drink and a therapist trying to figure things out. Ella and Alek’s journey will be a long and bloody because if you know them, it will have bullet holes and scars. Their crowns will be tarnished and need adjusting, but you can never expect anything different from this couple and that’s the reason why you will be rooting for them. They were Perfectly imperfect with a bloody side and let me tell you: you’ll love it, crave it, and devour it.

I’m going to be honest and say that I haven’t read a lot of this author’s books but based on what I’ve read so far, she’s quickly becoming one of my must read authors. This book came with a warning and you need to listen to the author when she says that it gets dark and gritty. This is what we crave in a dark romance and we embrace the gritty, enjoy the sick, and relish in the chaos because we secretly love it!!

If you haven’t read this duet yet, get yourself a nice glass of wine and enjoy the crazy!

This is the second book to a duet, so you definitely have to read Part 1 first. I also recommend reading the All the Pretty Things trilogy before reading this because you get a lot of background on Alek, as well as Willow and Saint, who show up quite a bit in this duet.

When I say this is a dark romance, I mean it's DARK. Our characters go through dark things, including sexual assault, and there are quite a bit of gruesome death scenes. Monica James does not hold back when it comes to the revenge Alek is willing to enact for those he loves. With this one, I really felt Bad Saint vibes as part of the book involves Alek and Ella on the run from bad guys on a yacht and having to figure out how to get out of some tricky situations. I really loved Alek and Ella's relationship and how Alek was changing from the monster he was to someone who was trying to be better. A lot of his actions were driven by his desire to make up for the awful things he did in the past.

I can't say too much more without spoiling things, but I can say that if you want a dark romance, you need to look no further than Monica's books. This one was so fast paced and definitely kept me on my toes. If you want a villain who grows a conscience and finds love, pick up this duet!

Now this review was bitter sweet for me because I let a day pass for me to cool off and come back to this, and I still feel the same. My full review is LONG because I have a lot of emotions into this, that said, I didn't jump over joy LOVE IT but still in my heart being invested in these characters I enjoyed reading it very much. I've debated on revising my full review many times and decided to go with my gut and leave it as is FULL OF EMOTION as I was reading. For my FULL REVIEW -> CLICK HERE

The Devil's Crown is the second book in this mafia romance duet by Monica James. The conclusion to Alek and Ella's story was emotional, angsty and suspenseful with plenty of twists and turns and deliciously hot encounters. Folks, this right here is dark romance at its finest, and I loved each and every second of it!

With his half-brother dead, it's time for Alek to reclaim his throne. But at the same time, he is determined to find the woman he loves. He is in agony over losing her and will do whatever it takes to get her back. This of course means going back to his ruthless and diabolical ways. But for his beloved Ella, it's worth all of the blood, sweat and tears that are shed.

I don't want to say too much more. This is a book that you need to live, breathe and feel all on your own. With Alek and Ella, nothing was ever simple or easy. These two had issues to work through and hurdles to overcome. But I loved it when they did. When they finally became partners and equals in every sense of the word. He was her king and she was his queen.

"I want it to be your touch I remember. I want it to be your body inside me - always and forever."

I have a weakness for dangerously delicious dark romance, and Monica nailed it with this one. She created a dark and gritty world that you can't help but get sucked into. It's sexy, thrilling and absolutely all-consuming. I simply can't possibly recommend this duet enough. Five brilliant stars for Alek, Ella and The Devil's Crown!

"I can't live a simple life. I tried. I was born a leader, and deep down, I feel most at home in the darkness... I'll be callous and calculated because that's what the people expect of the kingpin of Russia, which is who I am now."

This is exactly how dark mafia romance should be written!
I love every single word Monica wrote.

Alek as the Devil himself, and Ella as his strength, his equal, his love for eternity.

Both sizzling and suspenseful, nothing in this duet is simple and easy. It's a dangerous game in the wicked world. But I have to say - love finds a way in this incredible story of heartbreak and triumph - "I want it to be your touch I remember, your body inside me - always and forever."

I love Saint and Willow with all my heart and All The Pretty Things Trilogy is one of a kind, but, Alek baby, Alek is the f**king King and he deserves his throne!

“This is my world. My rules. I’m the motherfucking king, and it’s time to adjust my crown.”
.
Damn Alek.... for a soul shrouded in darkness, you sure do burn up the pages!! This book blew my socks off..... I couldn’t put it down!

James hooked me with the first book of this duet - there’s nothing I love more than a broken sexy ass hero who flirts with the line of good and bad and leaves you guessing about what he’s going to do next. Alek is cunning, he’s intelligent, he’s sexy as sin, he’s ruthless... he’s all those things you want in an anti hero.... and then he discovers his soul, the love of a feisty woman and an adorable little lady and ....queue *swooning*.

This book starts where Part 1 ends - where all of Alek’s carefully formulated plans to gain revenge and save the people he loves are foiled when the person he was most desperate to save makes a sacrifice to save him instead. Alek now needs to work out not only how to rescue the woman who holds his heart but how to reclaim the throne that is rightfully his. With the help of some old favourites, he makes bold and ballsy moves that leave you on the edge of your seat and reaching for your wine... or vodka 🤣 Beside him, probably wishing for some vodka herself, is Ella - a Queen in her own right... she was no damsel in distress and she overcomes some of the most horrible of experiences to hold her head high beside her man.

It’s filled with suspense, angst, raw feeling, friendship, scorching love, violence, devastation, revenge and justice.... It’s a twisted tale of one broken King’s journey to finding who he is.... and the woman who must overcome so much to sit beside him in her rightful place as Queen. Cannot recommend this duet enough for lovers of dark romance.

I don't know about y'all, but i keep reading one great book after another. And this one here is a fucking WINNER!!
I don'r really know what to say other that Monica James, YOU ROCK!! This was beyond epic, i enjoyed every minute reading this wonderful book. Aleksei Popov owns my heart and soul.

This book picks up right where book one ended. Ella now is at the mercy of the enemy, she would do anything to protect the man she loves even if it means being held captive. Alek is torn, now that he finally fell in love which was something he deemed impossible, he lost his woman to the enemy but he would do his best to reclaim his throne and save her even if it will cost him his life.

This book was DARK, no KIDDING. There were scenes that blew my mind and made my skin crawl, but it all added to the greatness of this book.
There were a lot of aspects to include, like Irina's past and Alek's mom, i was not sure if we would have the answers to everything but Monica did not disappoint.

I took my time reading this book, even though i wanted to see the end i was not ready to say goodbye to Alek and Bella. Their chemistry was scorching, the way they feel for each other made me swoon.
Alek finally knew that Ella was not a woman who would walk behind him, but a woman who would stand alongside him. His equal.

❝ Those who made the ones I love suffer are going to pay. I will inflict a lifetime of pain because Aleksei Popov is back...but unlike before, I have so much more worth fighting for.❞
Yes, it’s official.

‘The Devil’s Crown’ duology is Monica James' best work thus far.

From the get-go, this follow-up series to ‘All The Pretty Things Trilogy’ was an instant page turner and the author was able to deliver a near perfect conclusion to Alek and Ella’s journey. It had the perfect combination of dark elements, romance, steamy moments, and a riveting storyline that had me wanting more.

Despite the enthralling read, I have to admit that it did lack that certain spark that originally drove me to love this series. I can’t put my finger on it but there was that something something—possibly the concept, characters (more so Ella), direction of storyline and a number of other things that didn’t make this a complete win for me. Nonetheless, I still enjoyed this immensely and will continue to follow Monica James and her future releases.

⭐️ 5 "Back to the Top" Stars ⭐️
The Devil's Crown Part 2 was a real page turner! Such a violent, yet emotional story I just couldn't put down! This conclusion to Alek and Ella’s journey was intoxicating and unpredictable with lots of devious surprises, sinfully hot encounters, beautifully tragic and unputdownable! This read was the perfect escape for my dark romance addiction!

As much as I enjoyed this novel, it gave me such a different vibe than the first one. The darkness is omnipresent and much more intense than in the previous novel. As a fan of darker reads, I was in paradise between the pages of this book. Alek is the same ruthless man, trying to return to the top as leader of Russia’s mafia. But he’s also obsessed with finding the woman he loves, Ella. He would do anything for her and he proves it by returning to his callous and immoral ways. I absolutely loved being in his head and feeling his agony over losing Ella, displaying that this “monster” as a heart. She is his only thought, more important than his own well-being. I loved his alpha, commanding side as much as his caring one.

Ella, oh how I loved this fierce heroine. She sacrificed herself to save Alek and now she’s in the enemie’s lair, playing her own game. Her feelings for him are so powerful and it shows in her actions. Her strength doesn’t mean that she can’t hurt over the cruel sinister world the now lives in. A specific part of the story where she’s breaking apart from the evilness she lived through was deeply affecting. My heart was in pieces and I got teary-eyed over her fate.

This couple spend a lot of time apart in this sequel, and maybe it’s the reason I didn’t feel the same magnetism between them in this read. It didn’t mean that they aren’t explosively passionate, but the sparks were’t as intense in my opinion. Their love though is palpable and the devotion they have for each other is so bewitching!

As I previously mentioned, the suspense was so wild and never-ending. I couldn’t know what to expect next and it’s what made this read so thrilling! Monica James obviously developed a real talent a writing sensational dark romances without missing on the emotional side too. The Devil’s Crown Part 2 was a perfect, yet bittersweet conclusion to this epic duet!

I’d Give My All For You: An Adventurous Ending
*arc generously provided by the promo team in exchange for an honest review*

What’s this book about? (I'm trying to give as little spoilers as possible)
This is the second part of the All The Pretty Things Trilogy Spin-Off Duet. To understand everything, it is required to read The Devil’s Crown Part One and the All The Pretty Things Trilogy.

First things first, this is hands down my favorite cover of the year! Monica ends this duet in an explosive way! Feelings of betrayal, love, and lust cloud the judgement of our leads. A lot of deception is going on. Who can they trust? What’s the end game? How much do they have to sacrifice? You get all the answers in this emotional and action-packed final book in the duet. Alek is my fav in this duet, and he once again shines. His chemistry with Irina is so sweet, and he makes for a good ally in the little girl’s life (even if it’s an inconvenient one). Ella seems confused and broken most of the time; I might even add she acts a little hypocritical LOL, but that’s just because I’m a ride or die for Alek. All of the characters evolve into their true selves by the end, and it is glorious to read.

“I would have preferred more time , but he is merely an entrée” Alek , you beautiful human.

Monica James , you are a genius. It took me what feels like forever to finish the book , only because I didn’t want it to end.

This is such a bitter sweet feeling. I don’t want this to end , I want more but at the same time I’m also so happy. I can’t put it into words how much I LOVED this book.

The angst and pain in this book was everything. Alek’s lines were everything. Him putting everyone before him WAS EVERYTHING. I swoon for this man. I know people still doubt him , but let me tell you , this man came such a long way from when he was first introduced. Never have I wanted a character to finally get their HEA as much as I wanted this man to .Elle was fierce, a surviver. She was so strong. She didn’t give up. Thank you Monica for writing such a powerful woman in your book.

Lastly , I know this was Alek’s book , but I just want to praise Saint - he is the most loyal, badass character. I would completely want someone like him by my side. I LOVE him.

Ps - giving me this much anxiety , was not cool . But totally worth it

We have reached the conclusion to Monica James's epic two part story of Alek and Ella.

To say this story exceeds all of my expectations would be a vast understatement. Monica just completely blew me out of the water with everything about this duo.

Alek was never going to be the hero because he is in fact the villain of his own story. To like a man like him? A man that in reality is very much a monster that makes you question your own sanity and yet there was so much to like, to love even. It's warped I know but it is what it is. Hes a complex man with flaws and contradictions that make you question everything. I mean you know what he's done, in too much detail in fact. But still there is so much depth, so much under the surface. The cracks you see in his well built armour in book one are nothing compared to the tsunami of emotions you face from him in this story. The raw vulnerability that seeps from him makes it so hard to just see a villain because he's not so black and white and he isn't just your stereotypical bad guy. He's the best kind of worst nightmare there ever was.

Part two kicks off right where part one left us with our jaws swinging low. Like I said in my review of part one, Alek met his match in his leading lady, Ella. She is everything he needed and never thought possible for him to attain. She is soft and strong and unwilling to give up. Even if it means her own demise. Their story is the furthest thing from a sweet romance posssible. It's spin chilling, suspenseful, heart wrenchingly painful, unpredictable, climactic and chaotic.

Their story unfolds rapidly with many things going on at one time. The progression is fast and unforgivingly brutal in its delivery. Monica takes us through a emotionally impactful journey that you won't see coming nor could you be prepared for. Aleks story was never going to nice or sweet or even a little easy. He's fighting with himself, he's fighting for himself, for those he has wronged, for those whom have wronged him and for a life he never thought would be possible. His journey is not just one of outward growth, it's own of personal growth. It's one of accountability and it's one of acceptance. There is so many layers to this man, so much to learn and even more to love despite who he is. Because trust me, knowing his sins won't make you love him any less by the end.

You'd think it wouldn't be possible to tie up every loose end with everything that went down in these stories and yet Monica did and she did so in the most unforgettable way. Its a crazy rollercoaster that has so much going on you have to take it slow just to make sure you don't miss a thing. It's emotionally driven in a way that hurts to read. It's brutally raw and so fucking heart breaking at times I felt like my heart was breaking for him, for them. For them all. It's suspenseful in a way that always has you on your toes waiting, wondering because you know something is coming you just don't know what or when and when you think you can't take anymore, that there can't possibly be more... there is fucking more. Oh and did I mention the sex? The chemistry of it all?. The forbidden kind that gives you all the tingles. The sensual connection between them is pure fire and all sin in the best ways. I cannot.

I just fucking loved this book. Even when at times I hated the subject matter. Even when I cried like the emotional bitch that I am. These books are a fucking masterpiece. I wanted his story from the beginning of Saint and Willows and I was not disappointed. He is my favourite by far by Monica and their story is one of the best things to come out of this shitty year.

The story isn't seamless because is couldn't be, it's Alek. It's chaotic, raw, sensual and so wrong it's right. It's dark romance in the best ways and Monica out did herself here with their story. I devoured it in what felt like minutes completely consumed in this world and everything that comes with it. I felt every emotion like it was real and rooted for the bad guy to get the good girl. I honestly could go on and on about my love for this book but at this point I feel like I'll start to sound like a broken record if I don't already. Just know that if you loved part one you're really going to devour this book.

Side note - Saint and Willow are fucking epic in this story to. Just so you know, Monica did that.

Second side not - sorry for the lack of mention on the side characters. I don't want to spoil it for you and some things are best left un said.

5 New World Crowns

20200914-221314-0000

I bow to the Queen of darkness; this book is liquid fire licking across your skin in a decadent caress igniting your soul in flames. Monica has taken all notions you may have had and thrown them straight out the window delivering this EPIC and transcendent conclusion to Alek and Ella’s story. This book is guaranteed to bring you to your knees with each new twist and turn gripping you by the throat and holding you utterly captivated.

I thought I was in love with Alek in the first book, but that does not hold a candle to how I feel about him now. Watching him as he ascends his throne callously taking out anyone in his way and admiring his work as the world they once knew is burned to the ground and a new dynasty arises was enthralling. The man you once knew is no more and the one that stands in his place is heart-stoppingly dangerous and devious with a salacious appetite that I would kill to be the recipient of. But it’s the direction that he’s turned all that deviant behavior that really sets your heart on fire, the man that he’s become is so much more than you could ever have thought and I am here for every single minute of it!

Ella won a special place in my heart, her undying loyalty and drive to protect those she cares about is heroic. She doesn’t even hesitate to put her life on the line to try and help even though she has not lived in this world and she doesn’t truly know how to take care of herself that doesn’t stop her from trying. It takes a strong capable woman to bring thee Aleskei Popov to his knees and he has found that in her. She is his equal in all ways that matter, and their connection is enough to set your Kindle on fire. The pure heat that burns between them whenever they are in the same room is so visceral you can feel it pulsating from the pages, expanding, and growing until all you can feel is them. You may need a few minutes once your done reading those parts, because they are HOT!!!

Monica has crafted a dark and gritty world that you can’t help but become entranced with. I fell easily into this book, blowing through page after page needing desperately to know what was going to happen. Every moment, every triumph, every failure can be felt from these pages consuming your mind and body until your living and breathing this world. Monica has created more than just a story she has created an experience that will leave you breathless and desperate for more.

“She is my future—in this lifetime and the next.”

I didn’t think I could love anyone more than Saint but then The Devil’s Crown pt 1 happened and Alek stole my dark heart lol, but this book? Part 2? Sheesh

It was like an action packed romance movie was playing in my head while I read.

This book broke my heart and healed it at the same time. The angst was crazy.

______________

My man Alek redeemed himself but stayed true to his character. He was no saint, seriously don’t ever expect this man to stop his wicked ways because the darker the better.

The way he was with the people he considered his? SWOON!!!

The people that he considered enemies? I felt for them seriously... the way he ended everything? KING shit.

Now my girl Ella, a survivor. She held her own against everyone and that’s the type of heroine I like to read about. Again. Queen shit.

This book is dark, it might make you uncomfortable but hold on for the ride... it’s a wild but dammit a sweet one too.

I’m so happy this man has his HEA and few surprises at the end that made me so happy for them.

Now, that sweet baby Irina... I’m so intrigued by her. 👀

I have no words for the phenomenal Ms. Monica James. She completely slayed me with Ella and Alek’s journey. My emotions were on overload. I didn’t know if I was angry, sad, turned-on, happy... it was all too much but I loved every minute of it. The author held my heart and soul captive with the way she concluded Alek and Ella’s story. It seems like ages ago I felt I was at a crossroad with my feelings toward Aleksei. There is no doubt in my mind how much this character has grown on me and has grown since Saint and Willow’s story. He has made it to my book boyfriend list with his devilish ways and big heart. He is a devil with a soul and I love it! Kudos to Monica James for another outstanding, out of this world, epic 5 plus star read!

I’m the motherfucking king, and it’s time to adjust my crown.

I could Kidnap Alek. I am not even kidding. This author has literally created my dream man😂😍. And of course I would kidnap him with PURE intentions.. nothing bad… 😏

Anyways , talk about Dark Romance and this author definitely takes the Crown! This book was marvelous. After that punch-to-the-gut cliffhanger of the first book , the second part had been at the top of my most anticipated books! And good god, Monica really doesn't hold back in this book! The darkness has come to play and I am totally wrecked!

The book continues from where the first one ended and the brutality of this one had my gulping back shudders. Ella is in the clutches of Santo and Alek will do anything to save her. However things don't go as planned when he faces her and she disregards him. My heart broke for him. He always thought of him himself as the villain , what he didn't know was that he was the savior of many. His character goes much deeper than what was portrayed in Saint and Willow's book. He was a ruthless killer , but he loved even more ruthlessly , which was something he never accepted.

Then there was Ella. She was so brave. The courage she possessed had me in awe of her. She went through some horrible things and like the true fighter she was , she came back swinging and I was fully cheering her. Alek and Ella's story is messy but beautiful in the most twisted of ways. I loved every second of this book and can't wait for more books from this world!! I hope that the author decides to grace us with more books because I would love to see more of these characters!!

It took only a few chapters of this book for it to climb to my top reads and become a definite recommendation of mine to all the dark Romance lovers! But the warning at the start of this book is very true, since this is a very dark book and has a lot of triggers.

Monica James gave me so many panic attacks and near cardiac arrests in The Devil's Crown : Part 2! This story was beyond twisted and dark. Be prepared to break in Monica James' hands because this deviant, adrenaline filled and intense romance conquered my heart so easily.

Aleksei Popov is ready to get back his crown as the king of Russia's crime world. But he has changed a lot and Ella is one of the main reasons. Who has sacrificed willingly and is now living with the monsters. The Italian mafia. Alek will move heaven and earth to save her. But does she want to be saved by another monster? The traitors do not like Alek's return and he needs to get them eliminated carefully. So many games. So many enemies. And an unlikely love story.

First of all, you need to read trigger warning at the beginning of the story before proceeding. Because this story includes some raw and ugly and necessary parts. Those were not easy and the brutality slayed me. But that darkness was necessary to bring out beauty of this romance. Only Monica James can write a lovable antihero like Alek. He is a criminal, a murderer and everything wrong you can think of. But he has own crooked moral campus that set him apart from the other vile persons of his world. There are certain lines he won't cross at any cost. He is ruthless, cold, arrogant, reckless and absolutely merciless when necessary. And really terrifying. His love is equally intense. And that's what made me fall in love with him. To feel the hopelessness of a broken man and to feel the desperation to redeem himself. He loved Ella to the limit of martyrdom and that kind of possessive love is precious.

Ella's character faced lots of ups and downs in this story and she has evolved a lot. She is incredibly brave and has the strongest heart. Loving a monster is difficult but she embraced his darkness and filled his scarred heart with new light. This story has so complex story line and Monica James kept on throwing punches till the very end. The suspense, drama and action was ON POINT. The chases, the bloody fightings, the shrewd power plays- it was an intoxicating mix. And she managed to make their romance bloom in middle of all this mess. So I definitely got all the dirty, filthy, angsty and aching feels! Their chemistry is nuclear hot with thrill and pleasure of dominance and submission. But they are partners and soul mates in every sense! And I loved that more.

The Devil's Crown by Monica James was an explosive and breathtaking love story. She balanced passion, emotion and suspense brilliantly. It kept me on the edge, wrecked my heart and made me feel all the feels!

What a book!
I finished this book yesterday in not even 4h and I am still not 100% ready to move on. This story was a rollercoaster of epic proportions! Alek our anti-hero/devil has already been through so much in the previously book but he had to do one better and risk his life.. AGAIN!

This book is one of the darkest I have ever read. The themes throughout the book are really not on the lighter side. I had to pause a few times during some of these scenes but I also couldn‘t stop for to long because I needed to know how it goes and how it ends!

So many twists and turns rule this book and the angst is unlike anything I‘ve ever read. It‘s thrilling from the very first second until the last word in the book! Even the freaking epilogue is dark.

Monica is a mastermind! I don‘t know how she can write stuff like that so much but I will read every last book of hers no matter what!

What an amazing ending 🤯🤩😍🖤
Monica James just gave me all the delicious darkness i crave 😈
It was an hell of ride...
One i enjoyed through and through, because what a sight is the mother*ucking king of Russia!!

To be honest Alek & Ella' road was not an easy one: it made me suffer, and it made me murderous. But it was worth it.

This book show you how thin and fragile is the line between right and wrong, good and bad.

Alek is not a common villian, far from it actually. He is smart and and Machiavellian.
His plans amazed me and i never knew what to expect. All he do has only one purpose: protect the ones he loves.
And Ella is so stupidly brave: she sacrificed herself to save him. And that's what make her perfect for Alek.

Each twist kept me on the edge, making it impossible to stop reading.
It's dark, and violente but it's dampened by all that love
Alek's love for Ella, for Irina, for Saint and Willow....
Who knew the Devil could be so tender ??! 😏

Monica James once again proves just why she is the Queen of dark romance. There are not enough words to accurately describe just how phenomenal this book was and how much I loved it. This is probably the most EPIC conclusion to any story I have ever read, Ms James is a literary genius. This entire story was one big intense adrenaline rush, my heart raced the entire time and at one point I thought my heart was going to beat right out of chest. Ms James takes you on a wild ride filled with delicious kinky sex, violence, revenge, action packed scenes, and plot twists you never see coming.

Alek and Ella were absolute fire together. Anytime they were in a room together you could literally feel their pull to each other, just like magnets. They literally set the pages ablaze with their out of this world chemistry.

Alek, his character growth has been probably the most emotional for me. He has come so far and changed so much since the first I met him in Bad Saint and I feel so proud. I literally hung on his every word in this book.

Ella, she surprised me the most. I love watching her transform into a warrior. She was so much more than a victim and she proved it time and time again that she belonged right next to Alek as his equal.

Hands down one of the my top read this entire year and my new favorite book by Monica James.

I am so sad this duet is over. I read this book entirely too fast and honestly..

𝐈’𝐦 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐞𝐭 𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐤 𝐠𝐨, 𝐲’𝐚𝐥𝐥.

I’ve been in love with this m’fer since reading the 𝐴𝑙𝑙 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑃𝑟𝑒𝑡𝑡𝑦 𝑇ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔𝑠 trilogy.

𝐇𝐞’𝐬 𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐬.
𝐇𝐞’𝐬 𝐯𝐢𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭.
𝐇𝐞’𝐬 𝐮𝐧𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞.
𝐇𝐄’𝐒 𝐀𝐃𝐃𝐈𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆.

My god is he addicting.

Ella is just as strong willed. Her love for Alek knows no bounds and she will do anything to keep him safe. She’s stubborn but loves whole-heartedly. They’re a match made in hell.

Monica James goes for the jugular, y’all. Just when you think one thing is about to happen, everything changes. You’re literally salivating for more. The way she uses words to paint her scenes in your mind is remarkable. Her writing style flows page after page and before you know it, you’re finished with the book and left with not knowing what to do next.

She’s dark.
She’s dirty.
She’s queen.
And I love her so much.

"This is my world. My rules. I’m the motherfucking king, and it’s time to adjust my crown."

"This is my world, and I only have one rule— kill anyone who stands in my way."

WOW! What a wild ride!
This second book in the Devil's Crown duet was an even more dark and brutal, but oh so unbelievable gripping and incredible exciting story.
It's definitely a must read for all mafia romances fans.
The story pick up where the last book ended. You are immediately middle in the action.
There's hardly any time to breathe (or sleep 🤭), because in this page-turner happens so much in such a fast pace and with a so much brutality, that you read without taking a break or breathe 😱.
I don't know how many times I thought, ok, that's it.
This is the moment Alek or Ella are going to die.
I don't know how many times I yelled at Monica for doing this to me.
This book is a wild roller-coaster of action, destruction and brutal raw  emotions.
Alek's and Ella's love story is an incredible emotional and heartbreaking example that love can overcome almost anything.
This is not a sweet and swoony love romance.
There are no sweet and nice heroes in this book, not even at the end. That's not how this story works. This duet is a dark and disturbing book about the terrible Russian mafia world and it's perversions.
Alek is and always was the king of the monsters world and thus he is one of them.
He is the villain in this story, but one who, despite his sins and mistakes, tries to do good things too (between the bad of course 🤭).
And that's the reason why he is an incredible sympathetic devil, despite everything he has done (and there was a lot wrong with him in book one and the The Pretty Things Trilogy!).
I love this duet and the The Pretty Things Trilogy.
It's a fascinating journey through the dark side of the mafia Devil's world.
If I didn't convince you, read the warning below. I love it! 🤭😍

CONTENT WARNING:
THE DEVIL’S CROWN is divided into two parts. It’s a spin-off, but I recommend you read ALL THE PRETTY THINGS TRILOGY before starting this book.
THE DEVIL’S CROWN is a DARK ROMANCE containing mature themes that might make some readers uncomfortable.
It includes strong violence, possible triggers, and some dark and disturbing scenes.
This warning is not a gimmick.
This twisted tale is not intended for the fainthearted.
So, if you’re game…welcome to the madness. God save your soul.

The Devil’s Crown part 2 by Monica James.

How dark is too dark?— I found myself tethering on the edge of my limits with this read... admittedly, not in a bad way.

It should be noted that the dark theme warning should be heeded, however for lovers of all things dark this duet is perfection.

Thrilling, intense, suspenseful, and gut-wrenching best describes the conclusion to Alek’s story in The Devil’s Crown part 2. I was sucked into a vortex of whirling emotions, insanity, and mind-blowing darkness that Monica James brings to the table so well time and time again.

Aleksei Popov is the antihero of all antiheroes and he finds the perfect partner in Ella. She’s no damsel in distress, she is pure fire and every inch the queen to rule beside Alek and together they are undeniably formidable!

For the first half of the book I felt like they were on the fringes of a great Shakespearean style tragedy but together they would aset a new standard for the ultimate power couple. It was such a welcome to see Saint and Willow again and I swooned over their bromance. Seriously, my heart freakin died and resurrected! As much as I really loved the softer more vulnerable side to Alek in this book, it’s when he takes control that I truly go on my knees for him.

I’ve been going through a low patch with my tolerance for dark reads lately... yet, I was still able to enjoy this book because it is undeniable that Monica James can tell a story that is so compelling she has the ability to draw me in and hold me hostage with the potent, raw brutality in her words. She shattered every part of my mind, body, and soul... she took me apart so completely yet somehow, she put me back together again, piece by piece... After, seeing the darkest side of Alek in Saint & Willow’s book (𝐴𝑙𝑙 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑃𝑟𝑒𝑡𝑡𝑦 𝑇ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔𝑠 𝑡𝑟𝑖𝑙𝑜𝑔𝑦)- he has more than proved he is redeemable and worthy of absolution.

5 Mind- Blowing STARS.

Oh darkness my old friend how I've missed you!

Monica James you've out done yourself with this story. Diving into Part 2 of Alek and Ella's story was as exciting and thrilling as the first book.

The Devil's Crown Part II picks up from where Part I finished, I'm going to keep this review short and sweet because there will be no spoilers and truly if you need to know more about why this should be a series you devour keep reading.

Alek is still on his fight for his crown and with some unexpected twists that came his way at the end of book 1 he's having to figure out new plans along his journey.

It's a rocky road but I loved every moment of it because when you think things are going on way they end up another and that's a speciality of Monica.

James also took the darkness to another notch so be aware this book isn't for the faint hearted. If you can handle to some detailed descriptions that make you want to gag then this is for you!

Ella and Alek's story was everything and more than I needed. After loving and hating Alek in the Pretty Little Things Trilogy (which I advise you read first), I was so curious to be in his head and see if he has a possibility to release some of the darkness within. He proved it and you respect him all the more by the end.

An amazing, thrilling read. I'm sad to see it over but hopefully I'll get to meet Saint, Willow, Alek and Ella one day again!

An ARC was provided in exchange for an honest review.

“This is my world. My rules. I’m the motherf*cking king, and it’s time to adjust my crown.”

Bloody hell 😳

This is literally how I felt after reading this book.

Take a deep breath Kate....

Wow, just wow!

Im literally still buzzing from this EPIC Tour de Force of a story!! How does Monica do it, she’s an amazing storyteller, who pushes ours and her characters boundaries to the limit! I really don’t know where to start lol

This book starts straight off from the ending of part one and I loved that fact, so we were straight into the action!

Expect lots of mind games, poker faces, betrayal, violence, passion, beautiful friendships and heart stopping moments. Let me tell you Monica doesn’t hold back, again which is a reason why I love her Dark Romance stories. They are totally unpredictable; you don’t know who’s going to end with their lives intact by the end of the book and the grand finale always has your heart pumping!

The Devils Crown pt 1 and 2 is an EPIC duet of massive proportions; the ending was just perfect for our King Of Russia.

I’m very sad to finally say goodbye to Alek, Ella, Saint, Willow, Max and Pavel. Monica you have truly delivered a dark, disturbing and delicious world....which I totally love you for.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

If you can’t handle dark, dark and twisted romance this is not for you. The warning at the beginning is real. Now if you love it, then you’ll want to pick up The Devil’s Crown.

Part two picks up right where things were left at the end of part one. It is hard to talk a lot about this book without spoiling it, but it is full of twists, turns, darkness, romance, some sweet moments (yes, even in a dark romance), action, drama, suspense. Part two has it all.

Alek started out as the enemy, but as his story progresses there is much more to him. He has his sweet and tender moments, his caring moments that honestly made me swoon. Hello, Daddy Alek. He has his struggles with his emotions, his past, his present, his future. He wants his crown back and he will do whatever he can to get back what he truly deserves.

Ella, I went back and forth with how I felt about her. She bothered me at times throughout this duet, however, towards the end she really came into her own. She proved she can take care of herself and she could also fight right along with Alek.

If you’re looking for a dark romance that is full of twists and turns and steam The Devil’s Crown duet is a MUST READ!
