DEVIL IS IN THE DETAILS
Didn't think I could fall any further than I had with Alejandeo, but Crucifixio defiantly lives up to the phrase, 'like father, like son,' and then some 😉😜*fans self*I. AM. LEFT. PARCHED. There's nothing hotter than the devil himself and the flames continue to scorch with EL DIABLO IIWhen it comes to mafia romance, the devil is in the details and @authormrobinson commits.

This has been one of my most anticipated books this year and it did not disappoint. M is never an author who eases you in slowly her characters come at you full throttle, they grab you and never let you go.

Reading El Diablo is not necessary but I would recommend because A) you meet Martinez for the first time and B) it is an amazing book and gives an insight into this world. The father son relationship can be complicated and when he is Alejandro Martinez it brings a level of danger that cannot be underestimated. Cruz and Sienna were a match forged out of necessity but also one of passion these two are hot together. Cruz shows he is his fathers son in every way, domineering alpha possesive. Sienna is opinionated fiesty with a mind of her own. The story is fast pace intense and full of twists and I loved it.

I don’t know where I have been but I was not aware that this book was about El Diablo’s son Cruz. I was hooked from the very first chapter, the feelings this read evoked were off the charts. I struggled at first to like Sienna, she was a spoiled brat and how could she not love Cruz? The twists and turns were hard to keep up with and the storyline was exciting. Did I say how hot Cruz is…..like father like son!

Loved this book, the Queen of angst has done it again!

The son of the devil himself is the star in this book and he falls in love with sin.
Technically he has grown up sheltered only learning out the past of his father through the whispers on the Internet but he never understands why he is so protective of his sister and why that responsibility also lies with him.

Well one night changes everything and he has to deal with the repercussions of not following through with it.

He becomes the devil himself and hell mend anyone who gets in his way.

Loved sin she was such a fiesty counterpart kepping Cruz on his feet and not towing 'the family line'

Great book can't wait for what happens next.

Oh and I loved the update from Martin ex himself!

Wow wow wow I thoroughly enjoyed this book, I was willing it to continue. I wanted more romance, more suspense, more thrills, more of everything. I love El Diablo and this book was amazing too. Cruz was everything I thought he would be and then some and he is matched well by Fiery Sienna.

This was not like the first book. This was bloody and full of action. Romance took the back burner as we dived into the world of the new mafia devil in town. This is a must read and I suggest reading El Diablo first to fully enjoy all the characters in this book. Waiting eagerly for the spin offs.....

Ok 22 years later and a little slip up means the son has to step up and be a jr devil.
A lot of bickering and expectation and jr is thrown into a life of violence and darkness.
Without giving the plot away the book is well written with great characters and dialogue, however it's far too short and I think a little rushed at the end. But what a finale, liked New York bit, well worth it.
    Spoiler
Upon ordering two innocents to their deaths would have be it for me, bye bye Jr's wife's reaction was fine but after, nope I'd tell him I want a divorce or out of that life.

You can't love a man like that, he's beyond compassion. As a character any sympathy for him died the moment he ordered that.

Is it worth a look, definitely. Is it entertaining, yup but it's dark and violent.

“𝙉𝙤𝙩 𝙞𝙛 𝙮𝙤𝙪’𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝙝𝙞𝙢.”

As the children of legendary mafia kingpin El Diablo, Crucifixio (Cruz) and Adriana Martinez have spent their whole lives amongst the whispers and rumors that followed their infamous father. And in El Diablo II, the sins of the father became those of the son. Cruz’s world is turned upside down and he’s unable to maintain the good son exterior. Instead, El Diablo is reborn with a vengeance!

Q: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗜’𝗱 𝗱𝗶𝗲.

Sienna Luciano. She screamed royalty from the moment readers are introduced to the mafia princess who captures Cruz’s gaze and later his heart and loyalty. The strong, determined woman waiting with bated breath to make her escape from a life that she never chose… a lifestyle she hated everything about. As part of La Famiglia, Sienna’s sure of one thing—she will die if she remains within the family like her mother died. Her only chance to survive is to run. Yet, in a bid to strength the five families and support El Diablo, Sienna is forced into an arranged marriage to her arch nemesis, Crucifixio Martinez.

Crucifixio Martinez. The good boy. Until he wasn’t. The Devil’s Son… on a mission of destruction and retribution that makes his father’s path look clean. With big shoes to fill if he wants to garner the respect and fear his father held within their circles—not to mention the redemption he’s desperate for from his father— and Cruz is all too willing to deliver his own soul to Purgatory. When an arranged marriage to the woman he loves to hate is offered up on a platter, Cruz cannot hasten the wedding with any more speed. And the sparks truly fly between this pair.

Q: “𝙃𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙙 𝙖 𝙜𝙪𝙣, 𝙎𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙣𝙖?” … “𝙄𝙛 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚𝙣’𝙩,” 𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙖𝙭𝙚𝙙, 𝙛𝙪𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙖𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙄 𝙝𝙖𝙙𝙣’𝙩. “𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙢𝙮 ... 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙗𝙚 𝙖 𝙜𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙩, 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙗𝙤𝙩𝙝 ... 𝙡𝙤𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙙 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙚 𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙨 𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙜.”

El Diablo II is quick to draw you in and if you’re able to put this one down and not read it in one sitting than you’re certainly made of a stronger constitution than I! I read El Diablo start to finish, and therefore I wasn’t surprised when four years later, Monica had me doing the exact same thing with El Diablo II. This book is fast paced, and suspense and angst abound! The enemies-to-lovers trope ratcheted up this slow burn story until I was ready to combust much like Cruz and Sienna! I loved the harsh and callous nature of Cruz’s personality and the sharp banter he trades with Sienna. Only Monica Robinson can write am alpha, bad boy that sets my heart to racing with his smirks and depravity! And she certainly delivered with Cruz, the bad boy with a soft heart for his mafia princess… and all the twists and turns inherent with an M. Robinson romance certainly did not hurt! 😉

    Q: 𝙎𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜.
𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙄 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙫𝙚, 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙖𝙞𝙧 𝙄 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙚, 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙄 𝙘𝙧𝙖𝙫𝙚𝙙 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜.

As a longtime reader of Monica, I love the way she pens a romance. I always find her books epically entertaining and binge worthy. And El Diablo II wasn’t the exception to this rule. However, there are two draw backs to El Diablo that I struggled with putting into a review. I do feel that the romance between Cruz and Sienna was an example of a storyline that Monica probably should have delivered in a duet or potentially spent more time developing. The plot overshadowed the love story. Additionally, while El Diablo II can be read as a standalone… I would recommend reading El Diablo before undertaking El Diablo II for a richer reading experience. Many of the characters of the story return from El Diablo and key plot points are found within both books. Yet, with these exceptions I still could give no less than five-stars to the Queen of Angst. If you've never read a romance by M. Robinson I highly recommend you pick up El Diablo and El Diablo II and barricade yourself where there will be no interruptions... you'll thank me!

5.0 out of 5 stars another amazing hit by the Queen of Angst
Reviewed in the United States on 12 September 2020
The evil M has struck again...

First she stole my heart with Dylan McGraw in Undo Me. Then she made me fall for the baddest man there ever will be Alejandro Martinez the one true El Diablo. My heart was then stolen by Creed Jameson, after which his brother Noah was then able to weasel his way in there also. Damien made me confess all my sins. Aiden and Jackson just broke and mended my heart like there was nothing to it. Then Cash McGraw came out of left field and stole my soul. But nothing and I mean nothing could of prepared me for what one Cruz Martinez was about to put me thru. Cruz Martinez is the resurrection of his father El Diablo.

This book was so much more than what I thought it was going to be. When I heard that the son of Alejandro Martinez was next up to get his book I was thrilled. Well that was putting it lightly. I just knew that the son was going to bring action, pain, and lots and lots of blood in his book. I just didn't know how he was going to drag M down the road. And who was going to be the one to steal his heart and soul. I just could not wait to see who was going to be the one that was going to be able to stand toe to toe with him and be able to put him in his place when he needed it.

I was not 100% prepared when I dove into this one I must admit. I was like, "Okay M is going to F*** with me somehow so I need to be prepared." But, I will be the first to say that she kept me on my toes thru this entire read. The suspense was one that I could not get enough of. The mafia lifestyle that was portrayed was one that one could see being played out on the big screen. There was parts that I was finding myself screaming, "F*** No she can't be serious." And then there was curve ball after curve ball that was thrown at me that I was finding that I just wanted more and more.

When you are introduced to Sienna Luciano, you can tell just by Cruz's reaction that he has found that person that is his end. There love isn't one that is all sugar and happiness, f that. M wants us to see the dark that also comes with the light. And oh do we see the dark. When the unthinkable happens and Cruz is then made into the one thing that his father tried to prevent from happening, he arises as he new El Diablo.

This El Diablo is different then the first. This one is one that had something taken from him that he wants back, and there is no limit to what he will go to in order to get it back. Sienna is the one thing that can be seen as a weakness for Cruz. There really is a love there on his side, but for her the way things are in the mafia lifestyle isn't what she wants for the rest of her life. She will not live the way that her mother died. The only thing that she doesn't understand is she's not dealing with a regular mafia member, she's dealing with El Diablo, and he will get what he wants.

There was lots of action and mayhem when it came to this book. And I couldn't stop reading more and more. Then there was the hot as h*** moments when Cruz and his "deadly sin" came together. And when there was hints for the next book I was like F*** Yes. I want more and more of the Martinez children. Robinson is the Queen of Angst for a reason and I will say that El Diablo II was another amazing example as to why she holds this title. I will be waiting very patiently as I can for the next book to be released so that I can see what is next to come.

I have read everything M. Robinson has released, and Alejandro Martinez has long been a favourite of her men.

When I heard that Cruz Martinez was getting as story, I could. not. wait.

The devil comes back from the dead in this next generation installment. Not going to lie, I started off hating El Diablo. I hated the way he treated Cruz so much.

As the story progressed, my heart hurt for Cruz and events that happen. How could it not when he is thrown into the role of the Devil.

I was all nerves and anxiousness as I turned each page. If you have read any of M Robinson's previous books, you will know why she is called the Queen of Angst. She has you on the edge of your seat the entire time you are reading.

I don't want to give too much away, as I feel that this is a story that you need to go in blind to feel the full effect.

It was great to see Alejandro and Lexi's family all grown up. The one thing that I didn't remember about El Diablo was how much older he was than Lexi, so I will say that when it is revealed how old he is in this story, I was like woah, really?? That's my terrible bookzheimer's for you.

Be prepared with a bottle or two of vodka when you are reading. You are going to need it@

There is great set up for the next book, and now I am impatiently waiting.
