Bad Saint: All The Pretty Things Trilogy Volume 1 Kindle Edition
Blindfolded.
Bound.
Destination unknown.
I was told to stay silent and abide by their rules. But they didn’t realize I wasn’t a victim…not anymore.
The open sea was my backdrop for nine torturous days. During that time, glimmers of my fate were revealed by a man with the mysterious chartreuse-colored eyes. He should have scared me, but he didn’t.
He intrigued me. And I intrigued him.
He punished me when I didn’t listen, which was every single day. But beneath his cruelty, I sensed he was guarding a grave secret.
I was sold.
And in a game of poker, no less.
My buyer? A Russian mobster who likes to collect pretty things. Now that I know the truth, I only have one choice.
Sink or swim.
And when one fateful night presents me the opportunity, I take it. I just never anticipated my actions would leave me shipwrecked with my kidnapper.
He needs me alive. I want him dead.
But as days turn into weeks, one thing becomes clear—I should hate him…but I don’t.
My name is Willow.
His name is Saint.
Ironic, isn’t it? He bears a name that denotes nothing but holiness yet delivers nothing but hell. However, if this is hell on earth…God, save my soul.

Willow is kidnapped while on her honeymoon and is held captive by 3 men. One of those men is an american called Saint who she is terrified of but at the same time, is somehow drawn to him.
The amount of push and pull and bloody angst in this book can sometimes be way too much. In the end I found myself nearly screaming for the two of them to just get together already. But whats the fun in that. This is book 1 and I believe it is a good start and set up of the series. I look forward to seeing what happens next!
A good dark romance read. Not one of my favourites, but I definitely did enjoy it :)
Can not wait to read fallen saint.
Saint & Willow , beautiful and raw characters
Saint is on a mission to deliver Willow to Aleski Popov, as is his job, but he doesn't count on the will and strength of Willow and try as he might, her spirit just refuses to be broken. Their attraction is palpable but forbidden which just left me frustrated and begging for Monica to give me more. A whirlwind book, the first in the series, I can't wait to see where this ride heads as I pick up Fallen Saint, book 2 in the series that is keeping me awake at night!
Bad Saint is Book number 1 in All The Pretty Things Trilogy.
My first Monica James book and I’m now her biggest fan! What an incredible gift she has, I can’t wait to read all her other books.
Dark romance isn’t normally my favourite and I was a bit apprehensive starting this but gosh Monica has totally converted me with this one. I was completely hooked from the start and couldn’t put it down until I finished.
Willow is everything, she’s courageous, strong, brave and stubborn. She’s definitely up there with my favourite characters. When you hear her back story it just makes her all the more impressive.
I really didn’t want to like Saint but gosh it was hard not to. My heart broke for him when you hear why he is doing the job to begin with.
Be warned this does end on a cliffhanger. I can’t wait for book number 2, I’ll be counting down the days.
If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would! Definitely one of my favourites for 2019. Days later I still can’t stop thinking about it.

** hang on while I move all 3 books to my favorites shelf ** okay...now....let me get my breath back to normal.....time to write some reviews!
First all - if you are going to start on this book - let me just say that you need to just go ahead and buy the whole trilogy. This isn't up for discussion. Just get it. I can't believe the rollercoaster of every emotion and in all intensities I felt during this trilogy. Maybe I just get too involved with characters, but I loved this couple so much! This trilogy has a little bit of everything.... a love story, dark romance, violence, erotica, torture, suspense, action, adventure, murder, mystery....what else? And if you need a good cry, it has that too.
But either these are a trigger for you or they check all of your boxes, it's fair to know them ahead of time. There is kidnapping, human trafficking, rape, torture, abuse and graphic violence.
okay, enough of that. This 1st book is packed with this thrilling adventure as Willow is kidnapped and travels with her captor, Saint, as he tries to get her to the destination...her new owner. But the problem is getting there, as there are a ton of obstacles along the way, and Willow's attempts of escaping is slowing it all down. Saint tries to prepare her for what's to come, but Willow refuses to play the part. This is going to be harder for her in the long run. And her not willing to obey is screwing up the whole journey. This first book is full of adventure on the open sea with modern day pirates and deserted islands. A lot of quick escapes and murder will have you on the edge of your seat.
Saint is one scary, and very hot dude, but is there is pleasure in the pain he inflicts? How will Willow get out of this mess she is in? How will Saint get the job done and why is he even in this line of work to begin with? How was Willow even sold to begin with? And why does this drug lord need her? All of that to be revealed!
Yes, there is a cliff hanger. So be prepared. You'll be scrambling to get the next one. 5 stars for every book in this trilogy! Thank you Monica James! I really really really needed this.

Willow marries the handsome billionaire Drew and they set off to Greece for their honeymoon. Terrifyingly, Willow is kidnapped from their holiday terrace and taken to a boat to travel to her new "owner" - turns out she has been sold to the highest bidder. She is to submit to her captors, abide by their rules and obey. Little do they know that this Willow Shaw is not one to lay back and roll with the punches...she will swing a few of her own. In doing so, the consequences see that she ends up shipwrecked with the one captor that intrigued her with his green flecked eyes - eyes so deep it is hard to deny there is so much more to his intent. And Willow makes it her goal to find out what is hiding behind those eyes - regardless of the ramifications 📖
📚 Monica James is new to me as an author and I really enjoyed the writing style. She is very unique and refreshing, with fantastic portrayal of both characters and events taking place. The plot was well thought out, deliciously dark and covered serious topics with many triggers for some readers. Very slow burn but with some steamy scenes, I have a feeling #2 will ramp up considering how well the scenes are written in this book. Looking forward to reading more from Monica!

Willow Shaw didn't have an easy childhood. Life has thrown some major curveballs her way. But despite all the bad and tragic things that happend to her she still remained positive and never gave up. This woman is a fighter and I truly admired her for her strength and perseverance. When she gets kidnapped on her honeymoon in Greece by three masked, brutal men in order to be brought to her master - a Russian mobster - as his new plaything she tries to keep her cool and find a way out of this desperate situation. They tell her to be obedient und to follow their rules but little do they know that Willow is not a victim and an easy pushover. One of her kidnappers seems to be different then the others. He shows glimpses of humanity underneath his cruel demeanor. His name is ironically Saint, although he is definitely more an unforgivable sinner than a holy creature. Willow is equally fascinated and irritated by this gorgeous and mysterious man who seems to be keeping a huge secret. He punishes her when she doesn't listen and rewards her for her good behavior. He needs her alive and she wants him dead. Willow should hate him but she doesn't. And as days turn into weeks she is asking herself if Saint is actually her captor or rather her savior?
Kuddos to Monica for creating such multi-layered and well-developed characters. I adored Willow and think that she is one of the strongest female leads I've ever read about. This woman endured so much but she never allowed anybody to break her - not even Saint. And that was actually what gained her his respect and admiration. There is so much more to Saint than meets the eye. He was a walking conundrum in the beginning but with every layer of his personality revealed I fell more for this troubled and broken man. There is still kindness and compassion inside his heart which makes him the definition of an antihero.
Bad Saint is a highly entertaining and intriguing mix of a mobster and Island romance with a lot of suspense and sexiness thrown into it. I was glued to my kindle while devouring this fantastic story because I simply couldn't get enough of the pent-up need and sizzling chemistry between Willow and Saint. My mind was spinning with possible theories about who is playing who and why and how the story is going to continue. This book ends on a huge heartstopping cliffhanger and leaves us with open questions that are going to be answered in the following installments. I can't wait to see what Monica will come up with. I'm giving this amazing must-read 5 shiny stars!!!

This book has everything to make you crave for more. It's intense, it makes you feel so many emotions (fear, angst, love, passion...), the dark scenes are very well written, and it's highly addictive!
You'll fall in love with Saint (even if you don't want to) and, as usual with Monica, be prepared to expect the unexpected!
