Rock Star, Interrupted (Tragic Duet Book 1) Kindle Edition
I found my stillness, my space between breaths, when I was a kid. The answer is simple. If it hurts, I pour music on it.
After years of hard work, it's finally happening. Tragic has a number one album and we've gone from being discussed as one hit wonders to hearing words like meteoric mentioned alongside our name.
With two tours planned and another album on its way, we have a lot to look forward to. Playing in a different city every night, the shimmer and roar of the crowd, after parties and endless women. My lifelong dream is in the palm of my hand until one phone call leaves everything hanging in the balance.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 23, 2020This is not your typical fall in love with the nanny Rock Star read. Axton and Naomi basically don’t like each other, but they chemistry will burn you up between them. They see people and world differently. Axton has his music that he puts his heart and soul into. He has a wall up that he doesn’t let people in so easily. He life dream is taking off until he gets unexpected call. He decides to hire a nanny to help with his news that has shocked him. Somehow, Naomi has help breakdown his wall around his heart. She was looking for a change and put her life on hold. Although her dream of having a family was not in her near future anytime soon. She did her job well and doesn’t take any crap from Axton, no matter what he throws her way. The become close and then a tragic happens. Now, I’m looking forward to reading the next book in this series to find out what happens. Who is responsible for the mess? This book will suck you in and you will not see this cliffhanger coming. It’s a great read even if I wasn’t ready for the cliffhanger. It is a great way to leave you wanting more with your mouth left wide open.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 17, 2020Review Past family drama has made Ax a difficult man. His walls are thick to protect him, to keep him from adding to what his father always reminded him of "One is gone. One is done." He didn't want to add to it. A surprise baby could change everything or nothing. It is all up to Ax.
Naomi has no one. She needs someone. A little bit of luck goes along way. She becomes nanny to a darling little boy. Love is found. Love is avoided. Love is taken away.
A door destroyed. A life taken. A life stolen. A rock star's world comes crumbling down.
Loved this book for so many reason. I was blown away by many shocking moments. The moody rock star kept me guessing. The nanny's dedication had my heats skipping a beat or ten. The cvilatoin to the family crushed me, destroyed me and left wanting to devour Rock Star, Unbroken. The title gave me hope.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 23, 2020Ok so it's been a hot minute since I wrote a review ..cause let's be honest ...it can get some what tedious ...but I felt compelled to write one for this book ..why you may ask?...cause this book here...IT WAS GOOD STUFF... and this coming from someone who HATES a cliffhanger ..(yeah there's one of those ...I mean it's a duet..hello) ...like I won't usually read one if I know there is one kind of HATE ...and I'm not sure what processed me to give this one a try...but when I tell you ...IT WAS TOTALLY WORTH IT ...I ain't lying ... and I'm NOT GONNA SPOIL IT FOR YOU ...BUT THAT ENDING ...just go in blind ...do it ...STOP reading this review or any review and One Click now ..heck it was free when I did it... and then go BUY book 2...even if it is $4? $5? $6...I don't know how much it is ...that's not important...I mean ya gonna lose that much between the couch cushions ...or go count some change ..there's probably that much in ya car...I don't even know...JUST DO IT...cause it's worth it ...go ..why ya still reading this?
- Reviewed in the United States on October 29, 2019This was not what I had expected after I read the blurp and teasers for Shade's newest book. But then again I never can tell what I'm going to get when it comes to her.
Axton and Naomi were both two people that were different as night and day. Axton is a complete a-hole, and Naomi was just there for the job that he felt he wasn't capable of doing himself.
This book was definitely different from the others of Shade's that I have read. I was expecting the moments of the female and male characters going to to toe at times. And then the moments where they would come together and the chemistry is off the charts. I couldn't put this book down till I was at the end. And when the cliffhanger came, that I kind of suspected was coming, I was still shocked. Talk about knowing how to ring the readers in. The way that the cliffhanger was done I found myself getting antsy needing to conclusion to this duet right now. I will say that when the conclusion does come I probably won't see what is coming from a mile away, if the second half is anything like the first part.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 6, 2022The lead singer of Tragic, Axton, finds out he's a dad after the mother dies of an overdose. He had no clue that he was a father. He hires a nanny, Naomi, to care for his son.
Apparently Ax has a tragic story growing up. Nothing is really mentioned on what it is exactly, but based on what was provided in the book, it was tragic. He wants nothing to do with his son...never wanted kids...but he slowly changes and loves his kid.
Another tragedy occurs and everything is upside down, which leaves the cliffhanger at the end of this book.
Going to read the second and final book now!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 23, 2020This is only my 2nd SM Shade novel & I absolutely LOVED it! I saw it mentioned somewhere & decided to check it out. I do love me a good Rocker romance & this certainly kept my interest. The band, Tragic, was on it’s way to having great hits, several tours & lots of fans, but one little kink throws the lead singer, Axton’s plans, possibly out the door. He doesn’t know what to do with the information he receives. I wanted to strangle Axton at times. He was harsh & mean but there were reasons for that. He did lighten up a bit, but it took a lot for him to get there. There were many emotions throughout this book. Anger, love, sadness, heartache, sweetness... I felt it all. I loved the connection between Axton & Naomi. Even though he was mean at times, he did feel guilty & that made me like him a little more. There was a point where I thought it merged into something too quickly but after that point, I had to keep reading to find out what was going on. What happened in Axton’s house. It had me holding my breath & not blinking as I kept reading. I do thank the Author that book 2 is already out because I don’t know how I would’ve handled that ending if I couldn’t go right into the next one. LOL! Awesome book & I can’t wait to read the conclusion to it.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a Cliffhanger!
Well first up, there is a massive cliffhanger as this a duet, so if you can’t handle one of those, maybe wait until the next book is out. Personally, though they make me crazy, it won’t stop me reading a book, especially one by SM Shade, who is a great writer.
This book is about Axton, the lead singer in a newly successful rock band. They’re just about to go on a huge festival tour when he get a call telling him that he’s a father and the mother has died, leaving him as the only option for parental care. After Dani his sister convinces him to take the baby he’s scared to care for, he hires a nanny and then tries to get back to his regular rock star life.
The Nanny is Naomi, and she adores Caden, the baby. She’s 24 and been working as a teacher of 2nd grade kids, but wants something a little bit more low key. Though Naomi adores Caden, she doesn’t think much of Axton. He is rude and arrogant and doesn’t want to be around his son. She is unafraid of him and calls him out when he’s getting out of hand. Axton things she’s too stubborn and assertive by far, and she needs to get out of his business, or he might do something they’ll both regret.
There is so much going on between these two it’s hard to quantify it. There is a lot going on in terms of history of both Axton and Naomi that is only partially revealed. Their relationship has a lot of back and forth and no one, especially the reader, knows what is going to happen next.
I like both these characters and Dani, who sets Axton straight and is really good at bringing him back down to earth, is great. The way they all interact feels very natural and understandable given the circumstances they all find themselves in
I really can’t wait to read the next book in the duet because the cliffhanger is incredible. I soooooo want to know what happens next!

5.0 out of 5 stars Well well well OMG OMG
This story is awesome it is definitely a must read. About a rock star who finds out he has a baby and decides to look after him and higher a nanny,so he doesn't have to give up the whole rock star lifestyle. The story pretty much talks about how life is as a rock star, all the drama and issues, while also taking his son along for the ride.
Note this does end on a Cliffhanger (which I hate but continue to read it) recommend it to all

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but a mental cliffhanger
I didn't see the ending coming. Totally hate cliffhangers but the story itself was great. Will be interesting to get to the end.

4.0 out of 5 stars Must read!
This is the first book in the Tragic Duet series, and the story of Axton, and Naomi. Axton is finally living his dream, he is successful, and looking forward to the future. But when Axton's life changes overnight, he ends up turning to Naomi. This was an great read, the characters are well written, and the story captivated me. This was emotional, raw, gripping, dramatic, intense, and sexy, and the end was such a twist. I can't wait to read book 2. I highly recommend this book!
