I'm Colby Hendrix.
Football Legend.
Notorious Playboy.
Sarcasm Extraordinaire.

I had everything you could ever want.
The career some would die for.
The friends that always have my back.
And an unmatched level of charm.

I never planned on settling down.
There wasn't ever a reason to.
Or at least that's what I thought,
Until she came barreling back into my life.

With long brown hair and hazel eyes,
She has the ability to disarm me with a single look.
And the little girl attached to her side?
She's the shock I never knew I wanted.

The biggest mistake of my life.
The only woman I've ever loved.
If she were to say the words,
I might just give up everything for her.

Such a weak romance.

Safety details:
- manwhore during the separation, started fucking around only two months after leaving the heroine
- heroine is not celibate, she is now currently engaged to an abusive man so the hero seems more appealing
- after meeting again six years later:
- she still is with the fiancé but nothing is said about their sexual life, only about her being hit
- he fucks ow one night while the heroine was being abused ar home by the fiancée and flirt with another woman after the heroine is already single and living at his house

He left her as soon as he signs his football contract even though she supported him when they were dating. He only left a note and when she woke up wasn’t there. He changes his number and never considers letting her know.

He is the biggest manwhore of all times and guess what? It all started only two months after dumping her, when she was pregnant and alone, even though he didn’t know, he knew they had sex and she tried calling to him. Two fucking months of suffering before fucking other woman almost every night.

The author tried to make us believe he cared about her during these six years apart, but he didn’t. He had never even stalked her on Facebook and only two months after leaving her he started fucking tons of other woman.

His best friend Lennon is a eighteen years old teenager, he pays for her apartment and her fancy college. It’s funny how the woman he supposedly love didnt even her a phone call from him in six years much less any concern about her well being.

He says Saige is the only woman he ever loved but he had a big thing for Lennon, he literally pays for everything she need and even fret jets so she can go to his games because he thinks of her as his “number one”. His words, not mine.

Colby about Lennon

“Don't judge,” he quips. “That could've been you, too, if you had just told Lennon how you felt.”
I look back over at the two women who have changed both our lives for the better. Lennon's blonde hair flows down and rests against the jersey that matches my own. Anyone with eyes can see she's gorgeous, and her boyfriend, Cade, is one lucky son of a bitch. She must feel my eyes on her, because she pulls her attention away from Tessa and over to me. When she catches me staring, she smiles and flips me off with a laugh.
“Nah. She's happier now than I could've ever made her.”
I voice the truth, regardless of how harsh it feels to admit.

“In all actuality, we put each other in the friend zone. For starters, I made the mistake of hitting on her while she was still seventeen, and going to jail isn't exactly on my bucket list. From there, we just became really close friends. The idea may have run through my mind once or twice, especially when she got cheated on by her douchebag ex, but she ended up with Cade, and I really am happy for her.”

See how he was suffering thinking about Saige? She was never the reason why he wasn’t with Lenon nor was she the reason why he was a whore.

So what the fuck is that? He was perfect happy during these six years, he said himself football was the most important think and he also says “Between her, Asher, and Lennon, I've got all I'll ever need.”
He would be totally fine if he never heard anything about Saige again because he didn’t give a fuck about her.

After two months in LA he was at a party and think about calling her but one guy told him about fucking woman who wouldn’t even remember his name in the morning and that night he starts whoring around. The guy took his phone and told him to have him and if he still wanted to call her in the morning he would give his phone back. He never called so you can guess how hard it was for him to get over her.

“If you still want to call your ex tomorrow, I'll give you your phone back. But tonight, just have some fun. You're twenty-one, and you've got the world by the balls. Live it up.”
That night started it all. Instead of drowning my sorrows in a bottle of alcohol, I washed them away in women who would never compare to her.

Of course her fiancé, who was nice to her and her daughter becomes an abusive asshole, getting drunk, hitting her and all that shit that suddenly started when the whore came back because it is impossible for a woman to move on with a nice guy. She moved to L.A to be with him and for a year she says everything was great but then the comments about his bad mood and her best friend not liking him started because of course she couldn’t have dated a nice guy, it would make the hero looking bad. 🤬 and you know how every other man the heroine’s date has to be or a cheater or an abusive asshole so we can compare them to the hero and he would look better than what he really is

After they reconnected and started spending time together with their daughter and the feelings are coming back, while she was being hit by her abusive boyfriend, he fucks a woman with a model body because he would never hear the end of it if he turned her down. Of course he enjoyed it very much but something felt off, well something could have felt off before you fucked her

“I think back to that girl at the party the other night. She was no different than all the others I've let myself get lost in for a night, but something felt off this time. Like it was wrong. Like I should've been somewhere else.”

One day after his one night stand Saige left her fiancé because Colby the hero rescued because she had bruises and his friend notice it. So not they are living together now for eight weeks, he is celibate uau he hit on her but she rejects him so there is a party he went to and she went there after him, he is flirting with another woman. See girls, who much he suffers? They ended up kissing but she left him until after a few days he tells her he will quit football because she the most important thing for her. Bla bla bla HEA

This is not a romance, there is no passion between them, he would never ever look for her if it wasn’t for his kid. He was having the time of his life with his best friend Lennon, who mind you he was interest before, fucking tons of models and playing football.

Saige being insecure and in an abusive relationship thinking she deserved it was awful. Really, I’m fucking sick of men enjoying life and woman suffering with a new guy, because of course the authors needed to find a way to make the “hero” looks better, so she fucked up his fiancé so we would look at Colby with bright eyes.

Saige was a weak woman, not because she was with an abusive asshole and was manipulated but because that holy abusive shit made no sense. Out of nowhere his fiancé hits her and suddenly she was thinking about her deserving it and because she never told him about her kids father. She puts herself down thinking the hero deserves more it’s sick and disgusting

“Colby Hendrix is worth more than a broken shell of a woman like me. He should be dating supermodels and pop-stars, and he does. Not teenage mothers with emotional baggage.”

Close to the end he takes her to places that make him remember of her and how missing her was sometimes unbearable and all the other women was all nameless faces and people he used to numb the pain and forget the word a little bit. 🤢🤢 you fucking lier piece of shit, he fucked a woman because his friends would ask questions if he didn’t, nothing about pain there, also only that time something felt off, before that everything was okay.

Don’t try to sell Colby as a man who never stoped missing her because he did forget her a long time ago author, really, I’m glad this book is short because it’s ridiculous.

I don’t believe for one second in Colby’s love.
The book could have been better without Colbie interest in Lennon, becoming a manwhore within only two months and never ever pinning for her. He could at least have photos of them together but guess what? She is the one with the photos.

Ps: when they were younger and drunk her best friend suggest a threesome and he was completely on board with it but Saige said no. How cute, you can see how much he loved her, lovely

➽ KITTY KATS CRAZY ABOUT BOOKS

Hendrix is a spin off to the Haven Grace Prep series, we all met Colby Hendrix In The Rebel and wanted his story, well here it is.. 'Hendrix' is quite possibly the most memorable, captivating, and compelling romance novel Kelsey has written to date.

Be prepared to be slayed,
Get ready to swoon.
All the feels.
Our hero won my heart before, now he owns it!
I giggled, I sighed, I swooned, I cried, I fell in love wholeheartedly!
This book was perfection at its best! And everything I ever wanted but nothing I was prepared for.

3

It all started with a ‘Dear John’ letter, but ended how it should’ve.

This book was just perfectly perfect, throw in our notorious playboy, his never forgotten love interest and a child that will steal your heart, my emotions were all over the place. A slow burn second chance romance that filled my heart to bursting. There's not a single thing I would change about this book, from the cover, to the synopsis, to the characters, this was such a beautiful heartfelt story which was the perfect winters day reading material.

This was not a remarkable story for me, as well as the not-literally hero Colby Hendrix!

Colby and Saige were dating while they were in college. The real love of his life though was football.
When a football team wanted him to go early, he just packed up his things one night, the only thing leaving behind him was a letter for Saige, telling her that he didn’t want to be tied down with a relationship due to how hectic his schedule was going to be.
The years that followed, not even once did he contact her while he was having a great time and with women coming in and out of his life.

When they met six years after and reconnected, he told her there were times he was missing her and it got unbearable!!! and he was thinking of her a lot! 🙄🙄
While he was talking to his teammate’s girlfriend about his past relationship with Calli, he said:
«We all made mistakes. I was young and stupid.» 😮
In the meantime, while Callie was back in his life, he flirted with a woman at a party he had been attending!!!! 🤯

And what about his young best girl friend, Lennon. There were moments he wanted to be “more” than a friend to her!! 🙈

What happened to his mother?? She appeared like a ghost in the whole story (and miraculously vanished) and never met her granddaughter while she wanted one, more than anything in her life!!!

This was a story I didn’t enjoy at all, the main characters did not have any chemistry or connection. There was no romance!!! It was full of stereotypes, secret baby, abusive fiancee and the “hero” who came to rescue the heroine!

If the author’s objective was to unnerve me with a character like Colby, she delivered it beyond belief! 🙄
The only adorable character in the story was Brenna!

The cover is so gorgeous but the book is shit. It was so hard to finish because there is absolutely 0 chemistry between the hero and heroine. They didnt have any connection and it seemed so forced i was like DUDE I DONT NEED A FUCKING HAPPY ENDING, JUST DONT BE TOGETHER AND FALL IN LOVE WITH SOMEONE ELSE AND THAT WILL BE BETTER THAN A HAPPY ENDING BETWEEN THE TWO OF THEM. So the story is about Colby who is a football player and clearly in love with another girl named lennon, he pays for her college tuition, he sends a private plane to her so she can go to his game, he calls her his best girl and also confesses that he has feelings for her. Then there is Saige who is his ex and has a baby but never told Hendrix that she was preggo and somehow years later Hendrix finds out that he has a daughter so he finds Saige and from there their love story begins again.

Let me just start saying that Saige is a shitty person, she was engaged to a hollywood actor who hits her. Now, saige is an independent girl who has a supportive family, a supportive friend. She is not lonely in the world, she could have gotten out of the engagement and leave the actor dude but she chose to blame herself for making the dude mad which led him to hitting her. THE FACT THAT SHE HAS A DAUGHTER TO TAKE CARE OF AND SHE ALSO MENTIONED THAT SHE IS SCARED THAT THE DUDE MIGHT HIT HER DAUGHTER BUT SHE STILL DOESNT LEAVE HIM AND KEEPS BLAMING HERSELF AND ITS NOT LIKE SHE DOESNT KNOW ITS NOT HER FAULT, SHE KNOWS THAT ITS NOT HER FAULT AND THAT DUDE IS JUST ABUSIVE BUT SHE STILL DOESNT FUCKING LEAVE HIM! I hate saige so much, she is one of the worst heroines. She is not a good mom, she kept her daughter in danger knowing that her fiancé might hit Brenna ( the daughter ), and saige could have left him but she didnt. And like always, Hendrix the hero was there to save her 🙄 like a shining fucking armour.

Hendrix dude on the other hand was in love with lennon, no matter how many times he says he loves Saige and missed her, i mean in the first chapter he confesses his feelings for Lennon and in the next chapter he is like “ i have been miserable since i left Saige, what a sad life i have * cries like a baby* “ 🙄 seriously, if saige wasnt his baby momma, Hendrix wouldnt have even looked at her twice. There is no chemistry or bonding between them. None, 0, zero ( zero in all languages). I seriously hated these two. The only thing i liked was Hendrix and Brenna’s relationship, he loved his daughter and did everything to make her happy. But other than that it was like Hendrix was more miserable with Saige than when he was alone. Saige is pathetic and weak, Hendrix is a manwhore who clearly has bipolar cuz he says he has feelings for lennon and then he is like he always loved Saige. And i am like DUDE MAKE UP UR MIND, JUST BECAUSE GOD GAVE U A MOUTH DOESNT MEAN U LL SAY ANYTHING.

This book gave me a headache, i have never read a book where the couple are soo...ughhh! Their relationship was so fucking forced!!

I loved Colby and Brennan, but I really did not like Saige.

She kept his son from him for 5 years because he left her. Now I understand getting pissy about being dumped but keeping a daughter from someone is huge. She also tried preventing him from telling their daughter the truth because she herself didn't think he would be a good father and he had to prove himself first.

All the while she was engaged to an abusive famous piece of shit, that kept treating her like garbage, said horrible stuff about her daughter, and beat her up on the regular. Ohh he was also snorting coke.. I mean wtf, double standard much!!?? She kept defending him though for some reason, but she did have the fucking nerve to blame Colby because their daughter had an accident on the trampoline that he could do nothing about.

Wow, she was a real shitty person and even though everyone else in this book was pretty great (except for the abusive asshole), the heroine really ruined the story for me... He would have been better of with Lennon and she isn't even a favorite of mine.

Bummer, but it happens... I am giving 2,5 stars to Colby and Brennan, Tess and Asher.. oh and Maddie, she was pretty great.

So. many. feels.

I’ll be honest, secret baby isn’t my go-to trope. I was in the mood for a standalone and I’m making my way through Kelsey’s backlist so this was the perfect choice.

The storyline is much as you would expect. What makes Hendrix different is Kelsey’s ability to make you feel every single emotion right along with these characters: the pain and fear Saige endured, the effervescent joy Brenna experienced, the regret Colby suffered.

I deeply loved this story and feel genuinely satisfied with every page.

I know the author presents the hero like his is perfect and charming but I just didn’t like him. He is a weird older guy who is spending all of his time with 18 year olds. Why does no one else have a problem with this? Now he has this long lost girl that he loves, and a child? If he cared about her so much when he made it big, why didn’t he fix up her life and take care of her like he did Lennon? He was being a playboy while his daughter didn’t have a dad, because he was an ass who bailed on them. I just don’t buy the love story here. Definitely not the right guy for a “second chance” noble.

And yes it gets one star for the reasons below. There was no need to read anymore as I am positive I can predict with 100% certainty what will happen.

🙄 The heroine moved on but of course to a guy who abuses her, how predictable. She couldnt just be as happy as the hero had been with his "favorite girl" and hundreds of women to hook up.

Also secret baby as a means to take the heroine down to the heros level so you cant be mad for how selfish he is.

Nothing new here, just the tradtional second chance romance that glorifies the heros sexual exploits and downplays his sins at the expense of the heroines character.

This author will be put on my never read list. I like to read new ones occasionally in the second chance trope to see if they may be one that has finally evolved past the cliche plot points, this was not one of them.

Almost 2 stars

Ok, so I admit that I haven't been a big fan of Colby in the previous 2 books. Seriously, what type of 26 year old hangs around teengaers? (ahem Lennon and company). Like he has no other friends his age??
So that has never sat well with me.
But moving on.

To me this book felt rushed. I get that the author wanted to write this book but it seems she lacked the time to put more time into it.

There are two characters in this story that seem they will be important but they really aren't.
Take for example Colby's mom when she first appears she is giving him a hard time because she wants Colby to settle down and give her grandkids. To my disbelief there is no scene where grandma gets to meet Brenna (Colby's kid). Grandma is completely forgotten. Also, we here at the beginning that Colby's dad is sick and then again it never gets mentioned. Uh, what happened to Colby's parents???

The other character is Topher, the female lead's fiance. I really disliked how he is very conveniently made into the villain. Like all of a sudden he starts mistreating Saige (female lead) . I'm pretty sure I remember reading that Salve first described him as being very supportive. Like she moved across the country just to be with him!! Once Colby comes back into Saige's life Topher becomes an abusive jerk. I'm sorry but to me this just seemed like the easy way out for the author.

There is also no chemistry between the two leads. We are led to believe that both characters held a torch for each other for 6 years. Yet, there is very little of that backstory. The only thing we get to see is the cold hearted manner in how Colby broke up with Saige (not knowing she was pregnant). That's why I will side with Saige on this one and why she choose not to pursue Colby to let him know she was pregnant.
But for some reason everyone including Saige's supposed best friend blame Saige for keeping Colby out of Brenna's life. I mean c'mon it's mentioned in the book that the guy moved on pretty quickly. Saige even says how hurt she was everytime she would see Colby on media with his flavor of the week. Don't even get me started on how these two never really talk about the break up. I mean Saige had a lot bottled up inside and she never told him how him leaving made her feel or the why she never looked for him after.
Colby for his part plays the role of the "good" dad but he is not boyfriend material ready. Supposedly he has these feelings for Sage but he hooks up with some random girl. Then Saige herself sees him flirting with some girl at a celebratory party (this after they catched feelings). Ugh! Just no. There is no character development and I really don't buy that they are in love.
My favorite character in this story is the little girl Brenna. So that says a lot.

I'm not sure I'll keep reading books from this author. I didn't like Delany's and Tessa's books at all. Lennon's book was just okay.

***5 "Love shouldn't hurt!!!" stars***

!NOW AVAILABLE!

"Instead of drowning my sorrows in a bottle of alcohol. I washed them away in women who would never compare to her."

Since the moment that i met Colby Hedrix on "The Rebel" I was a goner and I was craving his story like an addict on drugs. And when Kelsey announced that he had a surprise for us and it was Colby's story, i was over the moon with joy and anticipation.
Thank you, Kelsey, for this wonderful story!!! It was a story that needed to be heard!!!

"Babe, I excel at three things -the three S's -sports, sex, and sarcasm."

And what a story was that!!! It was much more than i was expecting...
The truth is that i was expecting something more lighter for Colby, but i took so much more and all i can say is that this story was just... perfect!!! And right!!!
Saige was the right woman for him and their journey was heartwhelming and beautiful, even though full of bumps!!!

"Look at you, being all fatherly and shit. Who would've thought?"

Well, you all know how of a womanizer Colby was and how childish from time to time, but he was a wonderful man and an even more amazing and loyal friend and he proved it to us time and time again... First with Asher and Tessa and then with Lennon...
Well, this man needed just one girl from the past to turn his world upside down...
A girl on TV with a fiancee on her side and a picture of a little girl who suspiciously looking like someone that he might know...

"She's five. Her dad isn't involved.
I run the math in my head, over and over again.
It's not possible.
She wasn't.
She wouldn't have.
Right?"

Well, Colby Hendrix was a god!!! He had everything and he is fully satisfied with his life, until fate is laying ahead of him other possibillities and he is about to take his chances for a chance in true happiness with the only girl that meant something to him, once upon a time... A girl that he let go and now, this fact is biting him on the butt...

"Life doesn't give you a chance to rewind.
I made my bed, and now I have to lie in it."

Saige had been hurt really badly from Colby Hendrix. She doesn't need him barelling back into her life and do another mess.
But she has something that belongs to him and she can't do anything about that...
She just have to step aside and see her neaty world to crumble down for once again because of Colby.
Can she trust him and let him in for once again??? And with what cost???

"Colby Hendrix is worth more than a broken shell of a woman like me. He should be dating supermodels and pop-stars, and he does. Not teenage mothers with emotional baggage."

I freakin' loved these two....
I liked how they were between them, even though when they were faking indifference...
Their story was complicated, but it was worth the trouble....
The thing that was bounding them together was big and adorable... It was something that they both treasured and it was something that could turn them on one another for a second time.
Yep, the fears and hesistations were too many and not without a reason, but like i told before... They worth it!!!

"Everyone has that one tue thing in their life. A childhood friend. A highschool sweetheart. A trusted adult. Mine, on the other hand, is them."

I really loved and this story and i totally recommended to you!!!
Yep, it can be read as a standalone, but that way you will lose Colby's magic from the Haven Grace prep series!!! Another one series that I love...
But Colby kick asses in here and made me see him under a different light and i loved what i witnessed!!!
Just... Go for it!!! It will worth your time!!!

"You have dimples like me."
"That's because we're special. They're our secret weapon. No one can resist the dimples."

5 Stars because I can’t stop smiling! This book gave me ALL THE FEELS and a few happy tears! So much emotion bled from the pages. I LOVED THIS COUPLE and their journey.

Our favorite playboy Colby is about to be taken to his knees. He let her get away once, but this time he’ll do anything for a second chance.

Saige was the only girl that has ever had his heart. They met in college and fell in love. And when he got drafted to the NFL, he let her go. He thought he needed to concentrate on his career. He had no idea what he was leaving behind.

It’s been almost six years, when he sees Saige on tv, he finds out he may have walked away from more than just the girl who had his heart.

This is a story that I wanted to be told and I am so happy the author surprised us with it. BEST. GIFT. EVER!!!

This second chance romance is totally swoon worthy. The hero will bring the alpha and the sweet and your heart won’t stand a chance.

Colby is a creeper. He spends way to much time with teenagers. He bailed on the heroine when he signed his contact, she could have been living in poverty for all he knew. She was definitely struggling some being a signle mom. But he had no problem, being almost 30 and supporting an 18 year old girl. I can’t respect a guy like that and don’t find anything sexy about it. These authors need to learn the difference between a being a bad ass and Just being a douche.

ALL the swoony stars!!!

Imagine the swooniest hero you can think of and times it by two. That’s Colby in a nutshell...

Man, if you thought the glimpses of Colby Hendrix you got in The Rebel and The Enemy were anything to go by, you’ve seen nothing yet! The sexy and charming football player becomes that much more sexy and charming when he learns he has a daughter with his college girlfriend aka the one he let go of to pursue his football career. Mr. Unattainable And Anti-Commitment is brought down to his knees by a five-year-old and his old flame. MF’ing swoon!

Pretty sure Colby Hendrix is my favourite hero written by Kelsey Clayton. Her writing and story-telling gets better and better with each new release.

I’m beyond thrilled that Colby’s story was told; I knew there was more to him since he was first introduced in his best friend Asher’s book, The Rebel.

there were so many things wrong with this book.

1. there were so many scene transitions in each chapter, so every single chapter felt disorganized and all over the place.

2. the ow/on trope. i hate it. the heroine is engaged for 60% of the book and the hero sleeps with one woman after the h is already reintroduced into his life. and i really don’t like when either main character fucks around w other people after they’ve already been introduced to each other. it just feels icky. and then when the heroine moves in w the hero, the hero flirts with another woman at a party. i don’t like it!!!

3. this ones a bit of a spoiler but i think it’s important to people to know about esp if it’s a trigger for them. okay so the heroine is abused by her ex fiancé and the DV is never addressed after the heroine leaves him. there’s a VERY BRIEF interaction between her and her ex in the epilogue, but the whole interaction is only like 4 small paragraphs. the author definitely moved past the DV way too fast and it feels like it was only included in the story for shock value. DV is very serious and the author should not have included it in her story if she was just going to brush it aside right after it occurred. there’s never anything about the heroine healing. if the author wanted the ex fiancé to be hated and for the heroine to have a reason to leave him, there are definitely other things besides DV that could have been used.

4. the hero’s friendship with his girl best friend was so weird to me esp bc at one point he was into her. i personally would not like it if my partner was still bffs w a girl that he once had feelings for. and he referred to her as his “number one” and his “favorite girl” and paid for everything for her and it was just so weird!!! the whole time it felt like he STILL wanted to lowkey be with her 👀 and she’s only 18!!

5. there was ZERO chemistry bw the hero and heroine!!! i genuinely did not care if they ended up together in the end.

overall, i genuinely didn’t like the hero or heroine. and i definitely didn’t like this book. i know this book is only 175 and it’s a really fast ready, but i would still not recommend it.

At the end of the day, what’s the bloody point of writing a romance if the love interest is unlikable 😐😬 I understand with some books that the point of their characters is that you’re meant to dislike them but I feel like it’s different with romance books if you dislike the love interest the whole way through 😭 like it’s called a ‘love’ interest for a reason - we are meant to love them 😭

So much was weird about this book like nah 😣
For example: what’s with the love interests’ best friend being like 32 but dating an 18 year old or the love interest mentioned asking out his other best friend when she was 17 and he was like in his late 20s 😭 like did the writer really need to include that ??
And the fact the characters kept joking about that one character dating an 18 year old at 32 and the book didn’t criticise it or anything 😬

Save your time and don’t ever read this book.
I’ll stick to likeable love interests LOL 😝 xx

“You don’t even know how perfect you are.”

Oh my stars! Oh my soul! Be still my beating heart! Hendrix cast the biggest spell on me where I can’t stop smiling and swooning. I was so smitten with this love story that’s stunning, sweet, sexy, and so smartly written. Kelsey Clayton seduced me with her heartwarming writing—crafting a love story with characters that quickly carved their way into my heart—and I fell fast in love with this football romance full of feels.

Second-chance romances are my favorite trope and Hendrix was my kryptonite. So it’s no surprise that I devoured Hendrix in one sitting, staying up late. I mean ... who needs sleep when you’ve got Colby by your side? Oh Colby, I just needed his book.

Ever since I, a football-loving girl, feasted upon the football god named Colby in The Rebel, I practically begged Kelsey Clayton to give him his own story. I wanted to peel away his super chill, funny guy, laid back layers and see what other parts of Colby remained uncovered. After witnessing his best friend find happiness with Tessa, I desperately wanted the commitment-running Colby to find love.

After listening to Colby and readers, Kelsey Clayton delivered with a second chance romance about a playboy football star hero and the stunning and strong heroine who has always owned his heart. This tale took me to the football game where I was in the stands cheering on Colby. I witnessed a playboy, panty-melting god who was all fun and games evolve into the perfect man who’s equally sexy, strong, and sweet—changed by a hero who’s beautiful and bold inside and out. Colby and Saige were magical together! They had combustible chemistry and a powerful pull ... that inevitable emotional connection. Soulmates for life.

Oh my heart! This butterfly-fluttering, swoon-filled second-chance sports romance swept me right in the feels, as the alphalicious hero stole my heart, and I was powerless to stop the force that is Hendrix. I lost myself completely in this love story, feeling every word. Hendrix wholeheartedly CAPTIVATED ME, calling to my heart and soul, CONSUMING ME from beginning to end. Football + heart-melting alpha + second-chance romance = TOUCHDOWN! A must-read romance!

Colby, Colby, Colby. I have been dying for his book since the start of this series. He has been my favourite character hands down so I literally squealed when I saw his book had been released.

Yes I may still be a tiny bit salty that he didn’t end up with Lennon BUT that being said I can see why he didn’t and his heroine, Saige was perfect for him.

This is a second chance, sports romance that brings all the feels and I can honestly say that this is Kelsey Clayton’s best book yet!

I don’t think my ovaries have recovered yet after reading this because Brenna was the cutest thing ever and Colby as a dad, well. I have no words.

If you haven’t started this series yet I highly recommend it.

This was such an enjoyable book that pulled at a few heart-strings. It was easy to relate to Saige and Colby...plus the added in bonus of Brenna and Maddie! I loved these characters and was sad to see it end so quickly!

'Hendrix' is a spin off from the Haven Grace Prep series by Kelsey Clayton. Told in dual perspectives, get ready to be slayed by the much awaited story of Colby!

First of all I would like to thank this author for amazing gift she has given us all the bloggers on her birthday! I have never seen such a sweet gesture from any author. Thank you so much!

What was really alarming about this book was that I didn't know the title nor did I know the blurb of this book when I dived into this one! But I knew that it was going to be amazing! And I was absolutely right!

Colby is the playboy. This is his tory and the love interest he never forgot. Throw a so sweet child into the mix , and Colby's life took a huge turn. This book had all the feels and made me swoon so bad! This author possess an amazing capability of sucking me in right from the start and not letting me go until the very end! This book is a definite recommendation to all the contemporary romance lovers out there , believe me when I say that you will love Colby with your whole heart!!

This is easily Kelsey's BEST book!! It was just so flawless -- there's not a single thing I would change. Our main character is even woman's dream man (and fantasy!🔥🔥), the love between him and our heroine is so palpable that I felt like I was watching their love story unfold in real life.

This is an emotional, super sexy slow burn all about second chances and the power of love. I can't wait for you all to read this!!

**updated 8/21:
I about died when Kelsey announced that Colby was getting his own book, and y'all, it's amazing!! Seriously, Colby was everything I wanted and more. I was initially part of the team that wanted him and Lennon to be together, but after reading this book, seeing his growth, realizing there's more to life than just the sport be loves .. I just can't love this man enough. 😭😭😭

Small spoiler, so if you don't like those, look away

Seriously, look away

That scene where Colby makes Saige stand in front of the mirror so she can *see* what that scumbag did to her, and to really get through to her that the abuse was never her fault made me cry so much. I love the way Kelsey handles the hard/emotional topics with such grace and this was no different. I'm getting emotional all over again!

Please go read this book! I know you will love it as much as I do!

**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions!**

Adorable!

Very well written! Second Chance with secret kid is very touchy on how the story could go but this author did an amazing job.

I loved the way the relationship progressions were in this one between all of the characters. The side characters weren't just on the side they were apart of the story. While this was a slow burn that smexy scene was 🔥🥵 plenty if those details! Fantastic read!
