From USA Today bestselling author K Webster and Nikki Ash comes an angsty, new adult, why choose romance.

I’ve spent the past three years in college terrorizing the dean, also known as my father.
I’m everything he hates.

Troublemaker.
Slacker.
Gay.

But I’m only getting started.
I’m about to make Dad really proud with my newest life choices…

I fall for my best friend, Mia, who’s a freaking chick.
I’m dying to make out with my enemy, dude bro Brayden.
And best of all, I want to bone my new roomie, Drew, who happens to also be the school’s new hockey coach.

Senior year’s great.
I’m still the world’s worst human.
I’ve made all the wrong decisions, and when Dad gets wind of my newest mess, he might actually disown me this time.

But I can’t stop.
I don’t want to stop.

In typical Ashton Carter fashion, I wreck my life in the worst possible way.
It isn’t until it’s all torn apart, I realize I have a problem.
Me.

Authors’ note: Torn Apart is a full-length mature, new adult why choose romance between friends to lovers, enemies to lovers, with a bit of taboo thrown in. This story contains MF/MFMM/MM scenes. It’s the first book in the Torn and Bound duet and ends with a cliffhanger.

Torn Apart starts out like a familiar new adult favorite- hot jocks, college shenanigans, and two best friends secretly in love. But we soon find out that this is like no other new adult story we’ve ever read. Oh no, this is a masterpiece of sexual tension and emotional angst about nebulous relationship dynamics and the complicated, and limiting, ways we seek to define ourselves. I don’t know if I’ve ever read anything like this- and I absolutely loved it! This is a book you read cover to cover in one sitting- I sure did, because I was obsessing.

This is the story of four characters- and who exactly is in a romance with whom is not ever clear- because everyone is confused. We have Ashton, the gay gamer and dean’s son, his best friend Mia, the girl next door bombshell secretly in love with her gay BFF, the new young hockey coah Drew mysteriously departing the NHL, and the token arrogant jock jerk Brayden. They all have one thing in common- they all find (or have found) themselves attracted to someone that challenges aspects of their identity- loving someone that isn’t the person “someone like them” should, someone that forces them outside of their comfort zones. And OH MY, that is MESSY. Because sometimes their hearts and bodies aren’t interested in the same person. And as they all try to work through all this, the lines get blurrier, the relationships more confusing, the knot more tangled- so much so that they’re all wrapped up in a confusing dynamic that somehow everyone feels on the outside of. And that makes for a deeply emotive, compelling, and psychologically captivating story.

This is a narrative completely committed to its characters. No bells, no extras- because the angsty drama between them is more than enough to keep the pages turning. Torn Apart is really about how these characters are figuratively torn apart- their emotions and their relationships, as they struggle to work through the messiness. It gave me all the nostalgia of being in your 20’s and thinking you had it all figured out, and then realizing you knew nothing about yourself and the world- only here? It’s that on steroids. THIS IS MORE THAN MESSY- it is a relational and emotional explosion. Nothing is stable, everything is fluid. And these amazing folks just keep hurting themselves and each other as they try to figure it out. Because they are scared- scared to step outside of the arbitrary parameters they think exist, scared to let go of the labels that once comforted them but have now become a shield, scared to confront their utter confusion.

All four characters are so integral to this story and each individually amazing. All are uniquely created- they are complex, interesting, nuanced, and despite each of them being incredibly different from one another, all are incredibly relatable.I found them to be so unexpected- constantly challenging who I thought they were. Everyone ends up having a role in this relational labyrinth, and it is not at all the one you think they’ll play. And it will probably keep changing. I especially felt for Mia- not only because I think she’s the least confused about who she loves and thus I felt her hurt more, but also because I was her- I’ve been in love with my gay best friend.. I admired her bravery and vulnerability, related to her unrealistic hope and heartbreak. And the chemistry??? WOW, that knocked my socks off- I’m not sure how they did it, but every single character has such a sizzling and visceral connection to the other three- so much so that you even feel conflicted as a reader about what you want the characters to do. And that? That is what consumed me- it gave me a reader’s high like no other. And left me with a foggy book hangover for days.

While the angst, the fabulous characters, and the messy relationship dynamics made for a complex and unputdownable read, the broader thematic intent is what I loved most about this story. Our four characters are all stuck in an identity crisis in some way- some in more ways than one. And they are trapped by the labels, the stigmas, the narratives others, even they themselves, have told about who they are. Gay. Bi. Friend. Lover. Jock. Gamer. Smart. Delinquent. Coach. Student. Each label is loaded, heavy with expectation, and here, constricting. This is a story about the way the labels we place on ourselves and others, the boxes we try to fit inside can actually hinder our understanding of ourselves, limit our identity development, even if those labels are well meaning, sometimes true, or even meant to be liberating. This is what constricts our characters’ freedom, what has them drowning in these dynamics. But confronting that? Breaking free? Tearing apart the labels instead of yourself? Well, that’s incredibly hard- how do you figure out who you are when the parts of yourself you knew to be true, the labels you’ve given yourself, no longer make sense? Our sweet and confused characters don’t yet know- they are in the THICK OF IT- but oh my, that is some powerful meaning for them, and us as readers, to deconstruct. Because this is a world of labels. And often the labels that hurt us the most are the very ones we put on ourselves.

And speaking of labels- this book? Is this friends to lovers? Or reverse harem? Or enemies to lovers? Or second chance? Menage? MF? Guess what- it is all of things yet none of them. That’s right- while our characters might not yet be there, our book is. Nikki and KW create a story that not only defies every label, but it creates its whole new niche. This refuses to fit in a box- just like the brilliant writers who wrote it. And they do it naturally and authentically-this plot, these characters, are whatever they need to be. And I found that so freeing.

AND THAT ENDING?! OMG someone hold me- I need hugs, or wine. My heart hurts, but I am captivated by what this means for these characters’ journeys- how this will catalyze them to confront what they are struggling to understand about themselves and each other. Whether this will destroy them or be the thing that has them start to break down the walls they’ve created around themselves. Some of them have begun to do that, others are paralyzed by their confusion, but all have some hard truths to confront in book 2. AND I AM GOING TO LOVE IT. But for now, I’m just going to be waiting in agony to find out just what the path forward is for these beautiful, messy, and complicated relationships. What a story!

PS- there aren't triggers in this in the conventional sense, but this is not a "conventional" story, FYI for those that need strict relationship boundaries in your romances

TORN APART: is the first full length MM romance book in the series 'TORN AND BOUND', co-written by K. Webster & Nikki Ash. Spoken in 'Multiple Perspectives.'

Holy Crappers!! OMG the angst in this one nearly did my head in, add in all those feels that came hand in hand and this book was devoured in record speeds. God this was so good!! This flowed so perfectly you could not tell where one author finished and the other picked up, if I didn't know it was co-written I'd call bullshit, that's how perfect these two work together!!

This was one twisty triangle of epic proportions, what a mess these characters were, even they couldn't put labels on themselves, just one big jumbled up ball of mess. I felt so torn in two for Mia, all she wanted was the one she couldn't have, her best friend Ashton who so happened to be gay and never made a secret of it, then she nearly has a one night stand with a guy who maybe or maybe not gay, then she meets a guy who may or may not also be batting for the other team. 🤯⬅ explosion of the head!! It's like she had cocks blocking her every which way. And just like these characters I was pulled every which way, but the glue that held them all together and who they all kept on coming back to was Mia.

Then if that wasn't enough the authors had to go one more and throw in a cliffy!! Argghhh!! I really need the next book!!

Genre: Contemporary Romance
Type: Book 1of 2 from Torn and Bound Duet
POV: First Person - Multiple
Rating:
4.25 Stars

Trouble was Ashton Carter’s middle name. As a college senior, he lived his life the way he wanted with his best friend Mia Lexington by his side. But things started to shift when their friendship dynamic changed, and it didn’t help with the complications when Drew Thompson and Brayden Murphy entered their lives with their own baggage.

Before starting this book, I didn’t know what it’s supposed to be about (since I don’t read blurbs), and I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered the trope. I liked all the individual characters and how they were connected. The messy connections led to angst, which I enjoyed.

“So your asshole-ness isn’t just directed at me. Drew gets it too? Good to know you’re an equal opportunity dickhead.”

The characters had a good, varied background, and I loved how their past brought them together. They had great chemistry, and the sexual tension was intense. There are certain things I wanted more, but I’ll be a good girl and wait patiently lol!

Torn Apart is a story of friendship and sexual exploration. I’m looking forward to seeing where the authors will take the story in the conclusion next.

'Torn Apart' is the first book of the Torn Duet by the best selling Authors K.webster and Nikki Ash. Told in dual Perspectives , this book was an amazing ride for me!

Okkk, to be frank ,this book confused the hell out of me in the starting! The plot is amazing and you really won't anticipate, what will happen next! This book is nothing like the previous books that I have read , and it was totally different in a refreshing sort of way. I am so glad that I got to read this masterpiece! It ends in a cliffhanger and there is nothing I wouldn't give to get my hands on the second part of this duet!

The story revolves around four friends. Ashton who is the Arrogant , Charming swimmer of his school. He is also the Dean's son. Then there is Mia who is a wildly beautiful girl and is the best friend of Ashton. There is Branden who is the leader of the hockey team of the college and then there is Andrew who is the hockey coach of the college. There is not much that I can say without giving away the storyline or any spoilers , but I can absolutely warn you to be ready to curse and scream at these authors because they have really put their marvelous minds at work in this one.

By the time the book ended I was totally drowned in the story and just about saved my kindle from hitting the wall when that epic but brutal cliffhanger hit. Be prepared because this book is definitely going to be different than what you usually read and it's a great change! There is no one who shouldn't try this book because Both the authors did not hold back and gave us a story that is definitely going to be one the top duets of this year!

All the characters of this story were important and I seriously can't choose my favourite one! Ashton might be somewhere near , but then as I said before , all of them were pretty great! I can already tell that this duet is going to be so epic and the conclusion of this duet is definitely going to be one of my top reads! A definite recommendation to all the contemporary romance lovers out there! I won't put labels about this story being a menage one or a MF one , guess you guys have to find out yourselves 😏!

Ashton is the dean’s son who lives alone (on Daddy’s money) and sells test keys. He’s gay and not what his father likes to be.

He hates his dad, but riles him up for attention.

One day his dad drops a bomb, he’s going to have a roommate, “a freaking old-ass coach” but the person who he meets as his roommate is so diffrenet with his imagination.

Mia doesn’t seem to fit in anywhere, she’s trying to get away from her parents’ shadow, but no matter how far she moves, she’s still trying to make them proud and if that’s not enough to make her miserable, try this; she’s in love with her best friend, her gay best friend Ashton.

Brayden is the Hockey’s team captain. He's a good guy, a bit grumpy but his team mates respect him. but when he meets their new coach A.K.A his ex-best friend (remember Ashton’s roommate?) the emotions from the past, when everything was bad begin to surface.

I have so much shit bottled up inside me, I feel like a Coke bottle someone’s been shaking over and over. One of these days the lid is going to come off, and I’m going to explode.

Drew A.K.A the new coach and roomie: Trust is earned, Drew, and until you prove yourself, you can’t expect any of us to trust you.

And if you’re curious who will wnd up with whom you should read the book yourself because I’m confused as hell right now just like the characters. Told in multiple POV, 1st person, it’s the first installment in the "Torn and Bound" duet and it ends on a huge cliffhanger. It’s angsty, a friends-to-lovers/enemies-to-lovers story and it took me way out of my comfort zone (considering I’m not into reverse harem and I think this was my first experiment) but still I enjoyed every minute of it. I can’t wait to see what will happen next. Overall, loved it and hope you enjoy it as well!

This is one of the rare times I read the blurb before diving in. So, I had the teeniest idea of what I was getting into, but I HAD NO IDEA.

This book is so much more than the blurb.
It's so much more than Ashton wrecking his life and disappointing his dad.

This is the story of Ashton and his labels.
It's the story of Mia.
And Drew.
And Brayden.
It's what happens when four lives are brought together and all have a common interest.

THERE IS SO MUCH ANGST!

The ending is absolutely perfect. I wanted it to happen, almost desperately so, but when it finally did there were NO WORDS.
I'm ready for the next book. I know the second I get my hands on it, I'll devour it.

*ARC provided by the author in exchange for honest review*

Holy hell I have been dying for this ARC to drop on my kindle and it was epic. I love a good angsty read and this one definitely fit the bill. K Webster and Nikki Ash nailed it. This is a duet and does end on a cliffhanger for book two.

Our main Character Ash is a lover of labels Gay, Straight, Troublemaker, Gamer, Jock, He clings to them. While grappling with his feelings for his best friend Mia. Oh but wait there's his enemy Brayden the jock who's crushing on Mia while Ash is lusting after him and Brayden's new coach and blast from his past Drew just moved in. The angst was real and the delicious sexual tension snapping at times made for some edge of my seat reading. The overlap of lust and love and questions he has to answer about himself and come to grips with what he wants was amazing.

I loved Mia she was a fantastic character both strong and vulnerable simultaneously. She was a epic friend above all to Ash even while dealing with her own insecurities about Ash's sexuality and her feelings for him. Drew was the glue holding them all together and I loved how he owned his mistakes and who he is. Pushing Ash to do the same. And Brayden oh sweet Brayden I'm a sucker for an asshole with a softside and he's so protective of them I love it. That ending whew just you could literally feel the emotions and it was just *chef's kiss perfection.

Highly recommend if you enjoy mm, mmfm, and why choose romance.

Wow! Torn Apart blew my mind! It‘s a beautiful story about 4 amazing and somewhat broken people, and the love, confusion, heartache, and desire that entwine between them. This is a highly entertaining slow burn, taking readers through the process of deep character development. We learn about the struggles each character faces, and the love and hate they inflict on themselves and each other while navigating their hearts and their lives. Each character brings so much to this story and I fell in love with them all. I could not put this book down and finished in a day. I absolutely love where this story is going and can’t wait to see how this all plays out. Give this book a chance, you will not regret it.

Torn apart, this title is a true representation of this book. By the end you will definitely know what I mean by this. It’s pure epic ness and brilliant with the way this book delivers itself to you.

By reading the blurb , you find yourself having an inkling of how this story is gonna go but that is a true understatement. It’s completely unexpected, unlike anything I’ve ever read before in the Reverse Harem Genre. It’s unique and I am obsessed.

It’s a page turning story that will intensify as you read on. This story brings into a new world, of new characters that completely compel you to sit down and listen to their story.

As you learn their story, it’s completely bound by history with each other and has created these unusual bonds. As these bonds grow, they become infatuated with each other, grow to want, to lust, to need and to falling in love.

The tension between the characters could be cut with a knife with how palpable it is. It just bleeds and oozes out of the pages and into your soul. It’s completely smoking hot, and you can’t help but feel some sort of way when these characters connect.

They connect in a way that makes them belong with one another but they have so much to go through to get their. It’s filled with so much pain, history, self discovery, denial, and so much love.

The one thing that stood out to me in this book and I am sure many can agree is the ability these authors had to abandon these so called labels , you can never put a label on someone who is gay, lesbian, bisexual, transsexual, straight. Each person is unique so why is the need of a category to identify themselves needed. These people are normal, they are human.

With saying that, I didn’t expect the twist and turns to take place in this book and I absolutely loved what they brought to the table. They kept you on you’re toes and on the edge of you’re seat in wanting to know what is installed next.

As soon as I read the ending, I was like oh boy, shit is about to go down. It’s gonna be such an emotional roller coaster ride that is yet to come. You definitely need to check out this series when it comes out.

*SPOILERS

I don’t want to be that person, but I’m GOING to be that person. I’m pretty sure this is unestablished poly and NOT reverse harem. Not sure why it’s being touted as RH, but maybe that will be an actual thing in book 2. In this case it would be the absolute loosest form of RH I’ve ever read 😂

This was overall enjoyable. Pretty slowburn. I think all the characters are just trying to figure their shit out. Which, fair and believable. There is some steam, but I’d say it’s like mild sauce steam. I’ve read some shit before, and this is very tame on my personal heat scale. I’d also like to say that the ending just irritated the shit out of me. Like I knew it would all happen, but the way it did just hurt my feelings. Secondhand heartache for Mia. I know, I know. I can hear you all, “It’s a book Melanie. It needs ANGST, Melanie!” Well I feel like Mia got dicked around way more than she got dicked down. And that just isn’t right.

Will I read book 2? I mean. Maybe.

Omg. What an amazing ,refreshing story!!!
I love love K. Webster but I am new to Nikki Ash's writing.
Well, let me tell you, it's amazing!!
Our characters are so amazingly fleshed out and the entire story flows really well.
Ashton and Mia are best friends. Ashton is gay but Mia is so special and they are very close. What happens when boundaries are pushed? And what happens when Drew, the new hockey coach and Braydan, the hockey star, enter their lives?
Mayhem.
This was a unique reverse harem book and it ends in a cliffy.
We have a really amazing subplot here. One that I won't spoil but I have to say that Drew was my favorite character!!!
Excellent pacing, great characterisation!
This is a diverse book you don't want to miss!!! I need the next book now!!!

*I want to thank the authors for the early ARC!!!*

‘Imagining her naked and beneath me does things to me. Excites unknown areas of me. Opens up dark cavities in my heart that I didn’t know existed.’

I loved this novel ! It had me completely engrossed from the very beginning to the point that I literally couldn’t put it down.

It’s angsty, addictive and a little dramatic, with high amounts of sexual tension and a little humour! I easily fell in love with each and everyone of the characters and I cannot wait for the next novel in this duet.

I recommend this read to anyone who loves a reverse harem with enemies to lover/friends to lovers themes and those of you who loved Flocked by Kate Stewart.

Please note: This novel does end on a cliffhanger and does contain both M/M and M/F scenes.

🎧 Audiobook Review 🎧

I'm torn about how to rate this book!

I kinda of love it but I'm also confused by how messy it is 😂😂😂

There's Mia, a freshman at college...
There's Ashton, her gay bestie...
There's Brayden, a hot hockey athlete...
There's Drew, the hockey new coach.

Mia is in love with Ashton, who is interested in Brayden, then in Drew, then in Mia, but confused because he's gay.
Brayden who is interested in Mia, but also have a past with Drew.
Drew who apparently is interested in everyone since the beginning.

Can you see why it's a mess?

Everyone hook up with everyone at some point, but i feel kinda of sorry for Mia... She was always forgotten the soon the guys got near each other.

In theory, there's no cheating, because no one is in a relationship.
But there's emotional attachment between Mia and Ash, and between Drew and Brayden way before things got messy.

Anyway... Even though I didn't know who I wanted with who, I couldn't stop listening to this!
I probably should check the quality of my work done today, because this book totally stole my attention!

It ended how i was expecting and now I need the second book!

🎧 About the Audiobook Narration 🎧

Amazing!
Narrated by Tim Paige and Kelsey Navarro.
Both did a great job with all the angst between these characters.
Love it!

I have been counting down the day for this book. So as soon as it hit my kindle, I dove in and couldn't stop reading. K.Webster and Nikki Ash killed it.

Torn Apart is told from four POV

Ash, Gay, Dean's son, annoys his father whenever he can. Also arrogant and charming
Mia, Ash’s best friend, stunning, smart, hardworking, and the daughter of a Hollywood actress.
Drew, Used to play for the NHL for three years, then quit for a mysterious reason. New coach for the college hockey team and Ash’s new roommate
Brayden, Hockey team captain. Was in high school with Drew and used to be best friends. Arrogant and angry. But deep down has a heart of gold.

We read how all four lives intertwine with each other. Without giving too much away, I can say be prepared for times of yelling. The authors did not hold back . I was sucked in and couldn’t stop. This book is different than most. I loved all four charters, and each is equally important. You can’t just pick one. The book ends with a heart-tugging cliffhanger. I Can’t wait to see what happens next.

❤️💙𝐶𝑜𝑛𝑓𝑒𝑠𝑠𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑠 𝑂𝑓 𝐴 𝐵𝑖𝑏𝑙𝑖𝑜𝑝ℎ𝑖𝑙𝑒 𝑅𝑒𝑣𝑖𝑒𝑤💙❤️

❝𝑳𝒂𝒃𝒆𝒍𝒔 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒇𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈. 𝑳𝒂𝒃𝒆𝒍𝒔 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒄𝒍𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈. 𝑳𝒂𝒃𝒆𝒍𝒔 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒑𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆.❞
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 𝑂𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑎𝑙𝑙 𝑅𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔: Torn Apart , book one in authors K. Webster and Nikki Ash’s new page-turning, reverse harem, new adult romance, Torn and Bound Duet. Told from multiple points of view, we have four charismatic and complex characters that are pushing boundaries and exploring their sexualities.

Straight. Gay. Bisexual. Friend. Lover. Jock. Gamer. Coach. Student. Popular. Nerd.

Labels. Some hate them, some live by them and let them completely control and define you. That is exactly what we have in Torn Apart . Some characters just go with the flow and love who they love and are attracted to who they are attracted to. But there are others that feel like their label has to completely define them. In Torn Apart those boundaries will be pushed, past and present drama will collide, and a whole lot of complications will arise.

As far as the genre, well that’s as confusing as these characters and all their drama LOL, we’ve got reverse harem (duh), friends to lovers, M/M romance, enemies to lovers, second chance romance, sports romance, you name it and it’s probably in here. And somehow… it all just freaking works.

Filled with sexual tension, emotional baggage, and a whole lot of angst, Torn Apart felt like it was only the opening act. Where we first met the characters and began to understand the dynamics between all of the characters. I feel like book two, Bound Together , is going to be where the show REALLY begins.

K. Webster and Nikki Ash make an incredible duo! Each of their writing styles are so different but yet when put together it’s executed perfectly.

If you are a fan of reverse harems or unconventional romances, then I highly recommend checking out Torn Apart !

❤️💙 𝐶ℎ𝑎𝑟𝑎𝑐𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑠: Oookkk, so the relationship dynamics and WHO these characters are is going to be extremely hard to explain without you having read the book yourself. But I’m going to give it a shot…

💙 Ashton Carter , swimmer, laid back gamer, gay playboy, AND the dean’s son… Ashton often uses sarcasm and his flirtatious personality to keep things from getting too deep. But things get complicated for Ashton when the labels he’s always hidden behind start to blur…

❝𝑬𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘𝒔 𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒕𝒚𝒑𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒔 𝒐𝒖𝒕; 𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒈𝒊𝒓𝒍 𝒇𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒈𝒂𝒚 𝒃𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒇𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒅, 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒔𝒉𝒆’𝒍𝒍 𝒃𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒈𝒆𝒕 𝒉𝒊𝒎 𝒕𝒐 𝒔𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒄𝒉 𝒕𝒆𝒂𝒎𝒔, 𝒐𝒏𝒍𝒚 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆 𝒍𝒆𝒕 𝒅𝒐𝒘𝒏 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒔 𝒊𝒕 𝒄𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒓 𝒉𝒆’𝒔 𝒈𝒂𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏 𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒃𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒇𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒅 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕.❞
❤️ Mia Lexington , A.K.A MiMi. Ashton’s nerdy next-door neighbor, and best friend. Mia is secretly in love with her gay BFF, Ashton. But when the two share a drunken kiss things between them don’t seem so cut and dry…

💙 Brayden Murphy A.K.A. dude bro. The cocky jock, the playboy, the hockey player, and the guy Mia is tutoring. Brayden and Drew have a messy past… a past that didn’t end well and now Brayden is stuck with Drew as his coach… AND now Brayden is seeing Mia.
❝𝑰’𝒗𝒆 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒅 𝒎𝒚 𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒅,” 𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒂𝒚𝒔. “𝑰 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒅𝒆𝒆𝒑.”
“𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕?”
“𝑱𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒏𝒐𝒘, 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝑰 𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒅 𝑰 𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅𝒏’𝒕 𝒊𝒎𝒂𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒘𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒌, 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒘𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒆𝒍𝒔𝒆. 𝑰 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆.”
“𝑻𝒓𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒎𝒆, 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒅𝒐𝒏’𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒈𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆.”
“𝒀𝒆𝒔, 𝑰 𝒅𝒐,” 𝒉𝒆 𝒊𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒔. “𝑰 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒅𝒂𝒓𝒌, 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒉𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒐𝒘 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒅𝒆𝒆𝒑. 𝑰 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝒘𝒆 𝒋𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒎𝒆𝒕, 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝑰 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒐𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖.❞
Oh, but wait… is there more to Drew and Brayden’s past relationship than just friends???

“𝑯𝒆 𝒕𝒐𝒍𝒅 𝒎𝒆 𝒘𝒆 𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒇𝒊𝒙𝒆𝒅, 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒈𝒐 𝒃𝒂𝒄𝒌 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒆, 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒉𝒆 𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒅. 𝑬𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒔 𝒃𝒓𝒐𝒌𝒆𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒚 𝒊𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒔.❞
💙 Drew Thompson , the hotshot hockey player, recently left the NHL under very secretive circumstances and is now the new hockey coach AND Ashton’s new roommate… AND he hooked up with Mia (sorta) before he moved in and found out who she was…

As you can see these four and their relationship dynamics are MESSY, and that’s putting it mildly. All four of them are struggling with SOMETHING. Whether it be school, relationships, defining labels, friends, families… SOMETHING. But as they try to navigate their growing and ever-changing dynamic lines will be blurred and boundaries will be crossed, and things will get twice as confusing as they already are.

🔥🔥🔥 𝟑/𝟓 𝑅𝑜𝑚𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑒 & 𝑆𝑡𝑒𝑎𝑚: With four characters all with blazing chemistry you can imagine that the sexual tension is ramped up to 110%! Their interactions are steamy, and although I was hoping for a little more steam, Torn Apart left me with no doubt that book two will be EXPLODING with steam once this tension finally reaches a boiling point.
❝𝑯𝒆 𝒕𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒔 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒘𝒉𝒊𝒔𝒌𝒆𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒃𝒂𝒅 𝒅𝒆𝒄𝒊𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒉𝒂𝒔 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒃𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓.❞
🌪🌪🌪🌪🌪 𝟓/𝟓 𝐶𝑙𝑖𝑓𝑓ℎ𝑎𝑛𝑔𝑒𝑟 𝑊𝑎𝑟𝑛𝑖𝑛𝑔: OMG, that cliffhanger… this dynamic author duo sure knows how to give us the jaw-dropping, “OMG” , cliffys! After that ending, I’m excited to see what this might mean for all four of the characters and how it will change their dynamics.

Will this be the catalyst that causes their relationship’s with one another to be torn apart for good… or will it be what breaks down those walls, rids them of their labels, and bounds them together???

I have no idea but I can’t wait to find out!
❝𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒊𝒇 𝒑𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈? 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒊𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚’𝒓𝒆 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒃𝒂𝒅?❞
I feel like there is a whole lot more story to tell and I’m honestly not sure how these authors are going to wrap up this complicated, messy, love story in ONE more book… BUT alas, I have faith that they will pull it off and I can’t wait for the conclusion in Bound Together .

⚠️ 𝑇𝑟𝑖𝑔𝑔𝑒𝑟 𝑊𝑎𝑟𝑛𝑖𝑛𝑔: I wouldn’t really say there are “triggers” Torn Apart is unconventional and is more of a why choose romance, but as far as triggers, I wouldn’t say there are any. Maybe drugs? I mean they like to smoke a little something and drink on occasion? Lol, but other than that I wouldn’t really consider any of the subjects a trigger.
❝𝑰’𝒗𝒆 𝒐𝒏𝒍𝒚 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘𝒏 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒂 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒓𝒕 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆, 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝑰 𝒂𝒍𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒚 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝒔𝒉𝒆’𝒔 𝒂 𝒈𝒂𝒎𝒆-𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒓. 𝑰 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒇𝒆𝒆𝒍 𝒊𝒕 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝑰’𝒎 𝒂𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅 𝒉𝒆𝒓, 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝑰 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒗𝒐𝒊𝒄𝒆. 𝑾𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝑰 𝒔𝒆𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒚 𝒔𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒕 𝒎𝒆, 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒚 𝒔𝒉𝒆 𝒍𝒂𝒖𝒈𝒉𝒔. Ashton Carter isn’t one to fit under one label, as he is a bit rebellious, athletic, nerdy, gay and a handful. With his flirtatious personality, he isn’t shy and doesn’t keep his sarcasm hidden so when his best friend starts getting male attention, he acts out. But it all gets complicated when the labels Ash has known, no longer exist.

“What if people are more than one thing? What if they’re not bad?”

As the narrative opens, it focuses on Ash and his bestie, Mia, and then the circle becomes bigger with Brayden and a roommate. Told from multiple POVs, getting to know the characters is effortless with each having their own insecurities and struggles. As they interact with each other and get into certain situations, the level of angst and sexual tension builds.

“And when we kissed… well, when I kissed you, I felt that shit to my core. I wanted you like I’ve never wanted anyone else in my life.”

For me, I got hooked by the plot right away and wanted to see what would happen next, especially given the allure of different relationship dynamics with a splash of taboo. Each character offered a unique personality and I definitely have a team. With all chemistry brewing, the interactions were steamy for sure, but I was hoping for a little bit more action. That said, I have no doubt that it will explode in the next book.

Torn Apart is a story about erasing labels and listening to one’s heart. Heavy on friendship and angst, this book would appeal to those who appreciate an unconventional approach to romance.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here is my review.
4.5 stars
I didn't know what to expect in this story because I didn't even read the blurb before accepting this copy. I knew I wanted to read it even without reading it, I always want to read books from K. Webster and Nikki Ash. Their stories are great and sometimes make you think. And this one was a roller coaster ride of what is going on and who is going to end up with whom.
Ashton and Mia are best friends, he is gay and she is in love with him or so she thinks. Brayden wants Mia and Ashton wants Brayden. And then there is Drew, he meets Mia while she is out with the girls and he turns out to be the new hockey coach. And Ashton's father, the dean of the college has him staying with Ashton. Brayden and Drew grew up together and had a falling out and haven't spoken in a few years.
So now the four of them are together and you will not believe what is going to happen. My mind is still reeling. I need book 2 NOW!!!! If you are looking for a story that is a little out of your comfort level and on the taboo side, then you need to read this one. I love this author duo and can not wait for more from them.

Torn Apart: A New Adult Reverse Harem Romance (Torn and Bound Duet 1
K. Webster, Nikki Ash

Blurb

From USA Today bestselling author K. Webster and Nikki Ash come an angsty, new adult, reverse harem romance.

I’ve spent the past three years in college terrorizing the dean, also known as my father.
I’m everything he hates.

Troublemaker.
Slacker.
Gay.

But I’m only getting started.
I’m about to make Dad proud of my newest life choices…

I fall for my best friend, Mia, who’s a freaking chick.
I’m dying to make out with my enemy, dudebro Brayden.
And best of all, I want to bone my new roomie, Drew, who happens to also be the school’s new hockey coach.

Senior year’s great.
I’m still the world’s worst human.
I’ve made all the wrong decisions, and when Dad gets wind of my newest mess, he might disown me this time.

But I can’t stop.
I don’t want to stop.

In typical Ashton Carter fashion, I wreck my life in the worst possible way.
It isn’t until it’s all torn apart, I realize I have a problem.
Me.

Authors’ note: Torn Apart is a full-length mature, new adult #whychoose romance between friends to lovers, enemies to lovers, with a bit of taboo thrown in. This story contains MF/MFMM/MM scenes. It’s the first book in the Torn and Bound duet and ends with a cliffhanger.

Review

I thought this was a reverse harem so why everyone seems jealous of each other? and the freaking cliffhanger establishes that. If you're feeling blue right now just read this book why? Because our main character existence is the perfect example of chaos and sadly this book just wasn't for me, the story drags a lot, the pacing was all over the place and characters are too bland in my opinion. I understand primarily did like or enjoy this but I'm in the minority. Please don't hinder my review in reading this, who knows! might not work for me might just work for you.

THE REVIEW FOR THE BOOK TORN APART BY K.WEBSTER AND NIKKKI ASH.

GENRE: NEW ADULT...WITH A LOT OF EROTICA.
TROPES: TABOO, MM, MFM, FORBIDDEN ROMANCE, BESTFRIEND TO LOVERS, NEW ADULT.
AUTHORS: K. WEBSTER AND NIKKI ASH.
TYPE: BOOK #1 IN TORN AND BOUND DUET #1.
POV:MULTIPLE PERSPECTION.
MY RATING: 5 TABOO AND FORBIDDEN STARS.

Where do I even start...I am experiencing so many rushes of feelings after finishing this...I am shocked at the ending and frustrated at the cliffhanger...I wanna read more!!! *Crying*

This book starts with the narrative of Mia and Ashton, best friends since forever yet in love with each other...*in secrecy*. Well, there is a catch, Mia is straight and Ashton has hots for guys...so how can there be any relationship between them, I thought like this too...but you are in for a huge surprise.

Their circle was small, with just two of them together. Then enters Brayden, a athletic jock who they both took a dislike to at his first impression. But fear not, there is a thin line between Hate and LUST and when they crossed it, then there was no place for disapproval.
As if it was not enough, another guy, Drew, comes into the picture. His entry only shooks the core of the book and we are left hanging with our mouth opens.
In one sec I liked a character and in the other sec he is screwing up the whole situation.

I really, really like the unusualness of this book, like I have never read MM but here the authors have so tastefully written the scenes that I just want to keep reading for more.

I have no fear to admit that Ashton was my favorite character...He was sassy, sarcastic, fun-loving yet he brings the comedy in the most appropriate situations...He is a non-stop flirt and I really enjoyed reading his perspective.
Mia is a quiet nerd girl, best friends with Ash, living two lives...one she wants and others her folks want. Only one person knows her inside out...
Brayden and Drew has a history together and now they cant stand eachother. Now that they are stuck in the same picture, there is no choice but to resolve their differences ...but its not gonna be an easy ride.

This was a rough ride...like so many plots happening together...all the characters are bounded together by some unusaul bond and that cliffy was to die for...

Torn Apart is a great YA college based book about the exploration of a person's sexuality, that love is love and labels are just that labels. But does peoples interpretation of those labels matter? and how does it affect others?

Nikki and Kristi wrote the book mastering the flow and change between the characters narrative so well, you couldn't tell it is a co written novel at all. With 4 main characters to focus on, the story is clear and concise and each character is distinct with their own voice and personality.

Mia is the only girl in the novel, a girl next door vibe with bombshell looks, she attracts attention. Mia doesn't want it though she is a gamer, focused on her studies, a virgin and is in love with her Gay BFF Ashton.

Ashton is Gay and proud, he likes labels and as the Dean's son he enjoys stirring up trouble, a member of the swim team Ashton is talented in the pool too.

Braydon the hot jock hockey player with a bit of a cocky attitude, comes into the mix when he is assigned Mia as his tutor. He has a history with his Coach and Ashton has a secret crush on Braydon.

Drew is the new coach at the college, best friends with Bray once upon a time their relationship has been strained since he was drafted to the NHL. Drew is Ashton's new room mate and also had an almost fling with Mia as a one night stand before he moved into Ashton's apartment.

Torn Apart is a great example of sexual chemistry and angst, a complex web of emotions that I absolutely devoured from start to finish. I didn't know who to favour, which direction my heart was pulling me in because I loved it all. The cliff hanger ending has left me craving for more and ugh all the feels! I loved the tension between the characters, watching the friendship grow and develop and how different each one was. Some sweet, some heated, some filled with banter and sarcasm but every interaction is meaningful and drives the story forward. Considering this book has 4 POV's each character shines.

If you love a steamy book, that mixes angsty, friends to lovers, enemies to lovers and you enjoy a sexually curious and charged story then this is hands down the book for you.

Where do I even start!!! First, K Webster and Nikki Ash writing together is the best decision they’ve ever made. This is the writing duo that everyone needs to be reading! Kristy effortlessly tells a story without holding anything back. She’s bold, dirty, pushes boundaries and doesn’t let anyone tell her what or how she should write and I love her for it. She feeds my dark craving with her twisted imagination and I can’t get enough. And Nikki, she’s the softness you need and the angst that has your stomach twisted in knots. She brings the passion and gives the characters depth and rounds their hard edges. Which brings me to Torn Apart! This book is everything I’ve mentioned above and more.

This is an angst filled loved story where each character is searching to find themselves. Ashton has labeled himself as gay his whole life but after one kiss from his best friend Mia, he’s suddenly questioning everything he ever knew. And Mia may be in love with Ashton but with his back and forth game of hot and cold, Mia realizes the hot hockey player Brayden is just what she needs to soothe her broken heart.

Brayden comforts Mia and makes her feel things she hasn’t felt before. But Brayden has a few dirty secrets of his own. New coach and sexy ex-best friend Drew is thrown into the mix and even though Brayden may be falling for Mia, he loved Drew first.

Drew may be ready to move forward in his relationship with Brayden but Brayden isn’t sure if that’s what he wants. With Drew and Ashton rooming together it’s only a matter of time before the sexy pair end up scorching it up. But when jealousy rears its ugly head, a ride on the crazy train ensues. Confusion sets in and each one of the characters ends up heartbroken and stunned.

Can’t wait to see where these authors are going with this book. This was next level with the dynamics and love triangles (quadruples??) Talk about ANGST!! I absolutely loved it!!

5 stars!

He tastes like whiskey and bad decisions, and nothing has ever tasted better.

Jeez... I really don't even know where to start with this. I pretty much read it in one sitting- I just couldn't stop turning the pages! There was romance. There was steamy sex with loads of sexual tension along with emotional angst while everyone is trying to figure out who is with who, who wants who, and really showing how we choose to define ourselves with labels. The book is told in four point of views: Mia, Ashton, Drew, and Brayden.

Mia is best friends with Ashton, the dean's son and gay gamer. Drew and Brayden have a history of their own. These four people have their own brokenness to them and while they try to deal with that, the lines get blurry when they find themselves attracted to people that didn't fit the box they put themselves in. In this book, we see a lot of development in the characters, not just with each other, but with themselves and their struggles.

"I want the light and the dark, the shallow and the deep. I know we just met, but I want all of you."

I really fell in love with the characters and cannot wait until the next book!

Mia is Twizzlers and Fireball and Skittles and happiness. I could develop cavities from this kiss, and it'd be worth it.

This book was highly anticipated for me!!
I really enjoy RH and I also love MM. This book has both and it didn’t disappoint!

K Webster and Nikki Ash put a fresh spin on RH and I’m SO here for it!

I was completely sucked into this story, turning the pages trying get through all the angst, anxious to find out where it would take me! It follows four characters— Ashton, Mia, Brayden and Drew. I love something about each of them and they all have amazing chemistry with each other individually (we will have to wait and see how they are all together 😏).

This book ends on a heart tugging cliffy but I’m definitely looking forward to more!!

This book is steamy AF and I loved every single minute of it. Told in multiple POV’s, through the eyes of Mia, Ashton, Brayden & Drew, this book has a bit of everything - friends-to-lovers, enemies-to-lovers and there something for the taboo lovers also. The chemistry between the four is electric and I was so gutted when the story came to an end - with an almighty cliffhanger...December is far too long for me to wait, I really need to find out how this relationship is going to play out. ⁣
