I treat eating pancakes on patios like it's a personality trait.

Brunch is my jam. I like the beach, shopping, carbs, and reading naughty books on the train during my commute. I wear pink. Lots of it. If Tinder were an olympic sport, I'd take home the gold. I can rock stilettos like they're a pair of Nike joggers. I'm basically basic.

I'm in the prime of my life. I've got my dream job as the head of marketing at a huge company, and I've been steadily dating myself for the better half of the last decade. I'm thirty, flirty, and thriving!

Or at least I was, until some jerk had the audacity to turn me into a vampire.

I don't do blood and doom and gloom. I sure as hell don't like sleeping in a coffin, avoiding garlic bread, and these ridiculous vamp politics. And don't get me started on Diego. He's vampire royalty and a pain in my butt. A very sexy pain in the butt. When he's not driving me crazy with all his rules, he's turning my panties into Niagara falls.

I absolutely refuse to live the rest of my immortal life in some wannabe nineties grunge music video.

So Sucking Good!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: ❤️💙💜🖤💝
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙📓
World building: 🌎🌍🌏🌎🌏
Character development: 👤👤👤👤👤

The setting: The City; The Vampire coven compound; The DVM and a few other places.

The Hero: Diego – King of the Vampires. Though there are people in the Council who want to take him down. Diego usually would kill a fledgling vampire who was turned without permission, but in the case of Drew, he does something different.

The heroine: Drew – a girly girl who loves pink, loves her life, her job at a sex toy company and her friends. Drew is quite a character, she is outspoken, is not the best at following rules and she is definitely not happy she was turned into a vampire.

The Love Story: Diego is attracted to Drew from the first time he sees her and though Drew is attracted to Diego, she loves her freedom of choice and is not sure she is a one guy type of girl. Drew balks at doing what Diego says even though he is the King.

This book was incredibly fun to read. It was sexy, funny and the characters were engaging. I loved Drew and her inner commentary was terrific! I don’t always love an outspoken feminist, but in this case she was a fantastic character and perfect for this book. Don’t get me wrong, I definitely don’t mind feminism, but sometimes feminist characters can be too brash and preachy. Drew was perfect.

Diego was definitely hot and possessive but not too overbearing for a vampire king. He was a bit confused by his attraction for Drew and by some of the things he was doing when it came to her. It made him very relatable. I liked him from the start as well.

I don’t want to go into too much of what went on in the book, but to say that I was entranced from the first page and I loved every minute of this book. I highly recommend it to any romance reader whether you like vampires or not. I am definitely adding this to my favorites. It was literally one of the best books I have read in a while.

On a side note: If King Diego really wants to make Drew’s nude rendition of Chris Hemsworth disappear, I have a great place for it in my bedroom!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Well This Sucks is a paranormal rom-com by the insanely talented duo, Coralee June and Carrie Gray. Told in dual perspectives. Get ready to meet Drew and Diego. Their story is a barrel full of laughs with heaps of heat and crazy good times.

I absolutely loved Drew! She was smart, kind, sassy, witty and unapologetic. I could easily see why everyone loved her. She was not afraid to speak her mind or stand her ground, especially when it came to Diego, the King of the Vampires. He was sexy, powerful, demanding and immediately smitten with the lovely Drew. And as it turns out, this unlikely pair was fated to be together. But certain others did not make things easy for them.

Well This Sucks was such a quick and fun read! It was all kinds of epic, unputdownable, all-consuming and a riveting page-turner. I loved the characters and can't wait to read more by these authors because this book for me was a bloody good time! Five stars all the way for Drew, Diego and WTS!

Boring and the characters were annoying AF, especially the heroine. Enough about the sex toys and talk of sex with other dudes please (i love sexually promiscuous and experienced heroines, but this heroine was TOO much and OTT). Hero isn't much better. Not only does he say the heroine looks like a "sexy goldfish" but he also got turned on thinking of a 80-something year old granny seeing the heroine going commando 🤢 this book tried WAY too hard to be funny and was just so much cringe.

Safety:

Neither virgins

Not too many details of hero's s*x life, but heroine likes to share all

No ow/om drama but heroine is abt to have s*x with another dude in the beginning

No cheating

❝Mᴏᴛʜᴇʀsᴜᴄᴋᴇʀ sᴀʏ ᴡʜᴀᴛ?! Vᴀᴍᴘɪʀᴇs?❞
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 𝟓/𝟓 Overall Rating: Well This Sucks by Coralee June and Carrie Gray is a standalone, laugh out loud, steamy, paranormal rom-com about a basic bitch turned vampire! Oh my gosh, these ladies are KILLING these co-writes! 👏 After I read Aggro , I was like damnnn ladies, then I read Looking to Score and after I picked my jaw up off the floor I was like OH.MY.GOD, you two are freaking amazing… after reading Well This Sucks , I am completely HOOKED!!! I’m hoping for many, MANY more co-writes from these two because they just keep getting better and better! I have literally laughed until my stomach hurts, all the one-liners have cracked me up, and OMG let’s not forget the epic chapter headings!! 😂🤣 Well This Sucks is NOTHING like I expected nor is it like any other vampire romance I’ve read, but I absolutely LOVED it! If you’re looking for a funny, steamy read then I HIGHLY suggest checking out Well This Sucks !

❝I’ᴍ ɴᴏᴛ ᴀ ɴᴏʀᴍᴀʟ ғʟᴇᴅɢʟɪɴɢ. I’ᴍ Dʀᴇᴡ Lᴀɴᴇ, ᴠᴀᴍᴘɪʀᴇ ᴇxᴛʀᴀᴏʀᴅɪɴᴀɪʀᴇ.❞
All Drew Lane wanted was dinner and an “O” or two. What she got? A boring guy who helps his Mama poop and a cute enough waiter who offers her a quickie in the alley.

But things go from bad to worse for Drew when waiter guy lets his bitchy granny take a bite out of her.

It doesn’t take long for Drew to find out that life as she knows it has now been changed forever.

She’s now an undead, a vampire.

Diego is the King of Vampires for a reason and he can not allow an unsanctioned fledgling to exist. But once he sets his sights on Drew he’s instantly smitten and finds it impossible to kill her.
❝Tʜᴇ ᴅᴇsɪʀᴇ ᴡᴀs ғʟᴇᴇᴛɪɴɢ ᴀᴛ ғɪʀsᴛ, ʙᴜᴛ ᴛʜᴇ ʟᴏɴɢᴇʀ I ᴡᴀᴛᴄʜᴇᴅ ʜᴇʀ, ᴛʜᴇ ᴍᴏʀᴇ I ᴡᴀɴᴛᴇᴅ ʜᴇʀ. I ᴄᴏᴜʟᴅɴ’ᴛ ᴇxᴘʟᴀɪɴ ɪᴛ, ʙᴜᴛ I ɴᴇᴇᴅᴇᴅ ʜᴇʀ. I ғᴇʟᴛ ʟɪᴋᴇ I ᴡᴀs ᴛʜᴇ ᴍᴏᴛʜ ᴛᴏ ᴀ ғʟᴀᴍᴇ. I ᴡᴀs ᴏʙsᴇssᴇᴅ.❞
So, instead of killing her, he finishes her transition and lets her feed from him. Which unbeknownst to Drew, after feeding from a vampire king, instantly elevates her “status” in the vampire community.

Drew’s transition is far from easy. This independent woman now has rules, regulations, and a whole slew of council members to please. Oh, and don’t forget the Vampire KING, if she wants to live… or is it to remain undead?

This laugh out loud rom-com is one you’ll have to read for yourself to find out what happens next!

❝Wᴇʟʟ sᴜᴄᴋ ᴛʜᴀᴛ. I’ᴅ ᴘᴀss ᴡɪᴛʜ ғʟʏɪɴɢ ᴄᴏʟᴏʀs, ғᴀɴɢ ʏᴏᴜ ᴠᴇʀʏ ᴍᴜᴄʜ.❞
💙 (H) Hero: Diego—Vampire King. Mr. Tall, dark, and handsome rules with an iron fist, everyone needs to follow the rules and fear his wrath. But a certain little fledgling gets under his skin… quite literally, and causes all kinds of problems for him. Once Diego realizes the connection between himself and Drew is a lot more than just chemistry, he’ll do anything to protect her, even from herself. Which he has to do, many, many times. Lol, the girl can’t stay out of trouble to save her life, literally! I love how alpha possessive this usually calm, cool, and collected King gets over Drew, but I adore how he lets her just be HER.
❝Wᴇ ᴍᴀʏ ʙᴇ ғᴀᴛᴇᴅ, Dʀᴇᴡ, ʙᴜᴛ I ᴛʜɪɴᴋ ᴛʜᴀᴛ ɪs ᴏɴʟʏ ɪɴᴛᴇɴsɪғʏɪɴɢ ғᴇᴇʟɪɴɢs ᴛʜᴀᴛ ᴡᴇʀᴇ ᴀʟʀᴇᴀᴅʏ ᴛʜᴇʀᴇ. Aᴛ ʟᴇᴀsᴛ, ᴛʜᴇʏ ᴡᴇʀᴇ ғᴏʀ ᴍᴇ.❞

❤️ (h) Heroine: Drew Lane. Sassy, independent, confidant, and outspoken. As the marketing director of a very successful sex toy company Drew is all about female empowerment and isn’t afraid to say exactly what’s on her mind or take care of her own…*Uhm* pleasure… 😈 I love that she’s a woman who owns her sexuality! She is living her best life when she’s turned into a vampire, but she’s not about to let that slow her down. She’s certainly not happy about being a vampire but she makes the best of the situation and her laugh out loud inner monologue had me giggling the whole way through the story.
❝I ᴡᴏᴜʟᴅ ᴅᴏ ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ғᴏʀ ʏᴏᴜ. I ᴡᴏᴜʟᴅ ʀᴇsᴄᴜᴇ ʏᴏᴜ ᴀ ᴛʜᴏᴜsᴀɴᴅ ᴛɪᴍᴇs, ᴋɪʟʟ ғᴏʀ ʏᴏᴜ ᴏʀ ɴᴏᴛ ᴋɪʟʟ ғᴏʀ ʏᴏᴜ, ᴀɴᴅ I ᴡᴏᴜʟᴅ ᴇᴠᴇɴ ʟᴇᴛ ʏᴏᴜ ɢᴏ ɪғ ᴛʜᴀᴛ’s ᴡʜᴀᴛ ᴍᴀᴅᴇ ʏᴏᴜ ʜᴀᴘᴘʏ.❞

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 𝟓/𝟓 Romance & Steam: The chemistry between these two is fang licking HOT! It’s a little bit of a slow burn for the main event… but there are plenty of tiny bites leading up to the main course! 🤤😈
❝Tʜᴀᴛ’s ʀɪɢʜᴛ ɢᴏʀɢᴇᴏᴜs. Cᴏᴍᴇ ғᴏʀ ʏᴏᴜʀ ᴋɪɴɢ.❞
❥ 𝟚 ❥ Secondary Characters: Bitchy Granny Betty had me laughing until my stomach hurt! I love her and Drew’s banter and her take no prisoners attitude!
❝Wʜᴀᴛ ᴋɪɴᴅ ᴏғ sᴇʟғ-ᴇsᴘᴇᴄᴛɪɴɢ ᴠᴀᴍᴘɪʀᴇ sᴘᴀʀᴋʟᴇs?❞
🌪 Cliffhanger Warning: Nope, Well This Sucks is a standalone… butttt I surely wouldn’t be mad if they decided to continue on with this Vampire Coven! NOT.AT.ALL!
❝Aɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ғᴏʀ ʏᴏᴜ, ᴍʏ ǫᴜᴇᴇɴ.❞

This book should come with a warning-do not consume any liquids before or during because I found myself choking out laughs, holding my sides, and wishing that I could be seated in between these two authors on a couch for the rest of my life. These two geniuses have created such a hilarious, yet perfect paranormal story that it’s hard to even convey into worlds how much I need everyone to read this book. I was hooked from the very first page-it’s no secret these two authors possess the amount of wit and ability that truly knows no bounds-but I’m utterly impressed at the way they feed off of each other so seamlessly you don’t know where one stops and the other begins.
The creativity was absolutely off the charts-PNR isn’t my fav, but I’ll read it if it’s one of my favorite authors. This book is for ANYONE and EVERYONE that wants that broody alpha male and hilarious, smart as a whip, relatable heroine. This was truly a masterpiece-and will fit every single romance reader’s love for a fantastic story. A must read!

Vampiros y romance.

Betty. Bitchy Betty. La ame fue mi personaje favorito.

It turns out that the cute guy in the alley had an agenda. After a bad date-night Drew wakes up feeling weird. It turns out that she’s actually a vampire in the making. The vampire king, Diego, shows up in a mission to correct this wrong doing. He can’t kill Drew, because she makes him feel something. Instead, he gives her his own blood, something that also will create a connection between them.
Drew, that works at a sextoy company, is not the usual human the vampires allow turning. She has a hard time accepting her new reality and rules…

”I’ve never role played quite like that. Well done, Diego.”
“That wasn’t role playing. Have you accepted that you’re a vampire, Drew? It’s so much easier when you accept it,” he replied in a bored tone.
“Right, big guy. I’m a vampire,” I replied with a sarcastic roll of my eyes, though a familiar sense of panic was bubbling in my stomach. I chose to ignore the truth in his statement.
“Denial doesn’t suit you, dear.”

What I liked:
The portrait of Diego’s feelings for Drew. He was hot and had his cute moments. Drew was kind of funny and a free spirit. Some of the banter between Drew and Diego. I wanted to read it all the way til the end.

”Would you like to see my dick, Drew?” he asked, shocking the hell out of me.
I swallowed. Yes. I’d very much like to see it, but even though my vampire brain wanted to please the asshole, I refused to give him the satisfaction. “If you could just find me your biggest vampire, that will do the trick. I can have molds sent here, and we’ll make a replica.”
“I’m the biggest vampire here,” Diego growled.
“Your ego is cute when you feel challenged,” I replied with a wink.”

What I didn’t like:
The pacing and details. I usually read a book a lot faster than this one, but it fell flat for me. It didn’t hold my attention, so I had a lot of breaks. And it was to much that just didn’t make sense to me. Diego is the vampire king, and nothing explains that. I didn’t see the power or difference he was supposed to be showing unlike all the others. And the sextoys, Drew’s relationship with her friends, Betty and Rocky, how they lived, nothing made sense. All that resulted in a “meh” for me.

- No cheating
- OM/OW drama: no
- Dual POV
- Epilogue sometimes later (didn’t make sense what he did there either)

”It’s this way, Miss Independent,” he said, nodding his head in the opposite direction.
“Where are we?”
“Come on, I’ll explain as we go.”
“Fine. I’ll follow you, but don’t you dare interpret this as me trying to please you,” I said, walking over to him.
“Has anyone ever told you that you’re kind of cute when you’re all worked up?”

This dynamic duo is truly the literary power couple. Looking to Score was just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to their comedic chops. Well This Sucks is brilliantly subversive, dripping in sexiness, and delightfully uproarious. This is dark romantic comedy at its best- it has something to say, but it's also a bloody good time.

On the surface, this is light hearted fun. Chock full of memorable one liners, biting banter, witty takes on familiar vampire tropes, and dripping in sexiness. Well This Sucks is a refreshing comedic twist on a story that has become all too familiar. From the hilarious and shocking first chapter, I knew this would be a riot. How could it not be when our heroine is a crass, sex-toy entrepreneur, a woman who loves shopping, is perpetually clad in her shades of blush and bashful, and would letter in brunching if it were a legitimate sport. Her latest Tinder dating experience more than ends in disaster- it ends in her being undead. Uh-OH Drew is now a vampire. Thrust into a whole new ancient supernatural culture with new rules and politics, she has to rely on the guidance from the deliciously dark and powerful vampire king, Diego- although there might be more to their attraction than either expected. Either way, Drew is not about to give up her happy little life bubble to bow down to the vampire way. Vampire drama and a subtle, slow-burning push-pull create for a delightfully straight forward story….or, so you think.

Because there is so much more to what Carrie and Cora built into this story. CoraLee June has always loved to play around with the often explored tropes- bring a new and exciting flair to their well trodden stories, and it seems Carrie Gray does, too. Brilliantly, they take perhaps one of the most iconic, most immortalized romance genres and overturn it completely, dismantling it entirely with an ironic and sardonic flair, all while keeping the story substantive. They take a trope that is inherently and at times oppressively dark- all gloom and doom-and make it light, funny, and BUBBLE GUM PINK.. A trope where women are inherently weak- powerless to their own bodies and to their own mates and overcome by the new realities, and again instead we get a heroine brimming with power and independence, a heroine who is not controlled by her destiny or who is controlled by her supernatural reality. NO, instead our heroine rewrites the rules, takes over her new world, and makes it work on her terms. We get a sassy, snarky, sexually liberated and feminist heroine. A career-driven leader who is confident in herself and owns every aspect of her identity, including her sexuality. A heroine who isn't overcome or overpowered by aspects of her new reality- because she stubbornly refuses to be.

And that is what makes this story so charming- so SUCKING clever. While it is funny, sexy, entertaining, and brash- this story is also brilliant in its feminist revelry. Because Cora and Carrie have taken a genre that is inherently misogynistic in construction, a trope that is anything but feminist, and have turned it into a delightfully feminist manifesto. This comedy is jammed packed with clever and cutting commentary about gender roles and gender power, about the nature of consent and choice, on the stereotypes and shame of female sexuality, archetypes around female aging, and on the nature of female independence and liberation. There is so much symbolic meaning and allegorical representations in this story. Turning, mating, vampire dating, and a poignant vampire trial call to the me too era. Vampire politics and hierarchy speak to cultural gender and class inequities. The sexual liberation of both Drew and Betty contrast with the ways in which women’s sexuality has been culturally castrated by shame. Hell, even Drew’s damn cat (with a very on the nose name) with her agitated behavior has meaning.

What most encapsulates with this story is trying to say, though, is the relationship between Drew and Diego. A woman turned not of her free will, who has her consent taken time and time again by this new culture- is thrust into orbit of the most powerful creature on earth. An alpha king with a “mine” caveman mentality. He’s every reader’s dream- the quintessential vampire leading man. Until we realize he’s not- he’s more interesting than that. Because as much as these two are drawn to each other, as much as they are both powerless to fate and attraction, Diego ensures that the relationship is 100% on Drew’s terms. The Vampire King, the dominant alpha, does something the done-to-death vampires in our favorite PNR stories would never do- he gives his heroine all the power. Not because he’s forced to- but because he’s genuine, because he respects her, because he SEES her. Fate, vampire nature, politics, even their own sizzling chemistry are all superseded by the most powerful and important power of all- CHOICE. And that? Well that is just SUCKING beautiful.

Well this Sucks is a literary girl power anthem- it might be wrapped in a silly and pretty pink package, but this story? This is more than just frivolous paranormal fun. When it comes to having a meaningful point of view, this story packs quite a bite. Outside of being a fun vampire romp, Well This Sucks is a sweet and sassy, but subtle, middle finger to a culture that judges and limits us….a story that empowers as thoughtfully as it delights. Humor is indeed good natured truth. Carrie and Cora continue to shine- and here they help us think through easy laughter and a whole lot of fun.

This book did the opposite of Suck! I'm not usually one for PNR but this one was so refreshingly different that it just sucked me in! Pun intended! I loved that Drew was basically in love with who she is as a woman. I don't really see that very often. She knew what she wanted in dating and her career and in life, and she went for it unashamedly. And the story read true to me about how someone would react if thrown into her new reality. There was just something about this book. I'll be recommending it for a while to come.

I have really mixed feelings about this book. While I did like it and enjoyed reading it I didn’t love it as much as I thought I would.

I fell in life with Diego right from the start. He was so dreamy, caring and protective..I loved him!
Drew was definitely an interesting character, I didn't like her name and sometimes she annoyed me but still I liked her a lot.

What I didn't like is that the biggest part of this book was about Drew and her getting used to her new life.
The ending seemed rushed and I ended up wanting more from Drew and Diego's relationship. I think I would have loved this book much more if it was part of the series.
And I really didn’t like the fact that Granny that was eighty-four years old was in a relationship with a thirty year old. I didn't find that funny at all.

By this point, it's pretty clear to me that anything Coralee June and Carrie Gray write, I will just absolutely adore.

I devoured this book in a little over three hours and I had a sucking (yes, I did do that lol) blast!
This was exactly the kind of book I needed. I've been getting stuck in book slumps all year long, and like always, Cora and Carrie do their author magic and I get their book when I most need it.
On the surface, this book is a brilliant, low-angst, comedic filled romance. BUT the amount of female empowerment and overall female badassery in this book is just *chef's kiss*

Drew is annoyingly perfect. She works at a sex toy company helping women everywhere find their own pleasure, ENCOURAGES women around her to stop caring ONLY about a man's opinion, and makes the oh-so-handsome vampire king, Diego, work for it.

One weird side note that I would like to add: Drew is obsessed with all things pink, fashion, and brunch but I love that there are still characters that can still help her with all those things and that she's not portrayed as a know it all on those subjects just because she loves them.

Diego is just *yummy* and I would like one order of Diego, please! Diego is THE vampire king. He is all-powerful, broody, and extremely handsome (with a big...) but he has feelings! I KNOW! SHOCKER! He *is* the alpha male we all know and love but he is not emotionally constipated. From the very beginning, he feels an attraction towards Drew but he doesn't know how to feel about it. After all, he has been alive and been a vampire for over three hundred years, and Drew is only a fledging.

The way he expresses his emotions and feelings towards Drew makes my heart all soft and gooey.
I love how Cora and Carrie amped up the cheesiness but very masterfully made it their own thing. I will definitely continue to support these two amazing authors and I can't wait to see what they throw at us next! If you haven't read any of their other books, I recommend you immediately go read them -and maybe save Well This Sucks 'till after you've read Aggro because you'll definitely need it.

This book was provided by the authors through Wildfire Marketing Solutions in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Carrie Gray, Coralee June and Wildfire Marketing Solutions!

Well This Sucks is a standalone Paranormal Romantic Comedy about Drew and Diego.

I have read a few books by Carrie Gray and Coralee June, but this is my first time reading a Paranormal Romance book by them and I LOVED it. The story was so fast paced, I kept on reading and reading and I enjoyed every bit of it. The characters are so funny and the vampire world Carrie Gray and Coralee June built together was amazing!

I really loved Drew. She’s such a funny character, and I couldn’t stop laughing. I also really liked the fact that she worked at a sex toys company and that she’s all for empowering women. My feminist heart loves that. And Diego… I’ve always been a fan of vampires and I cannot not love Diego, our vampire king. I think he’s just so cute. I want a Diego for myself…

Well This Sucks was such an amazing vampire book and I’m so glad that I was able to read an ARC of this book. Carrie Gray and Coralee June are such amazing authors and one of the best writing duos. I loved and enjoyed reading Well This Sucks and I hope that they’ll write a novella about Drew and Diego or a novella about Betty and Rocky because I don’t want to say goodbye to these characters!

The right mix of fun and serious. I liked both main characters. A couple of twists but a well rounded happy ending. Didn't like Graham, he got more irritating with every appearance. Favourite character was Ryan. The vampire king at the end was entertaining, I could see Lacey buying the lot to worship.

Wow!

This was such a fun book to read! I absolutely loved the characters but I feel it was missing something. I'm not sure what that something is but maybe it was the fact we never found out what happened to Graham and what his punishment was. But all in all this was a great book to read!

What a breath of comedic air..

This had me laughing and swooning at the same time

Diageo is a super hot vampire king who meets his match in Drew. She’s a sexy, independent, says what she means/wants and take no prisoners. The chemistry between them is super 🔥🔥🔥

They’re the power couple you want to be 🖤💖

Such a fantastically written book, I couldn’t put it down. I was laughing out loud so much, and love the business Drew’s in. Absolutely sucking perfect for her 🤣

Brilliant read - 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

A dark comedic PNR? Uh, yes, sign me the heck up.

I love Drew. I love what she has to say, love how she’s going about it, I just love a woman in charge.
And Diego. My goodness, can someone find me a Vampire King? I’d be willing to join HIS harem.

This duo is smashing the patriarchy, one well executed hit at a time.

Well This Sucks by CoraLee June and Carrie Gray is oh so punny, full of good vibes and and tasty treats.

Drew is confident as she’s sure of herself, knows who she is and what she can do for herself. She’s got loads of sass, and more importantly doesn’t care about what anyone else thinks. In some ways, she who many of us would want to be. After one disastrous and pointless (or rather pointy) date, Drew’s life is forever changed.

And then we have Diego, the badass vampire who’s in control, that is until... Drew dances into his life.

You’ll be laughing out loud and fanning yourself from the heat between Drew and Diego, as you sink your fangs into this vampire satire.

Side note: pay attention to the chapter titles, they’re a hoot.

- like she gets changed into a vampire against her will and she’s rightfully angry about it but she never EVER even tries to learn about being a vampire on her own (like not constantly asking questions instead of just idk reading the pamphlet??) and she tries to rush things??
- and yet somehow she’s has no issues????
- it’s so long and there’s no plot
- honestly it revolves around female empowerment, but it’s kind of a moot point when the only reason she has a good handle on things is because of diego. Not to mention he never really apologizes for making her uncomfortable and not talking to her about things and she still accepts him?
- also no one acts their age. drew acts like she’s 12?? which is really uncomfortable considering diego sometimes calls her little one as an endearment and he’s over 300 years old?? ew?? and betty is in her 80s but she acts like she’s a teenager??
- like i’ve said before i’m not saying older people can’t have fun, because of course they can, but there’s a certain level of maturity you get when you age and these characters don’t have it
- and considering this is a romance, it was boring tbh and a lot of the time felt very forced

No for me.

I don’t usually bother to write a review for a book that I could not even finish, but I disregarded the lower rated reviews that I read and tried the book anyway. Should have paid attention and not wasted my time. I pushed through to about half way and couldn’t take it anymore. I only made it that far because I thought maybe the FMC would grow up a little. But it didn’t happen. She is 30! And she acts, dresses and conducts her entire life as is she is 14. And then rants about how her views on women’s rights should be taken seriously. Not going to happen you act and look like a 30 year old teeny bopper. There is no chemistry between the two leads and no world building. This was a miss all the way around.

Before I get into the vampire romance portion, I’m going to take a minute to address the feminism. Is there a hot vampire king? Yes. Is there a particularly hilarious scene involving a ghostly entity and making it to 3rd base? Also yes. But we lost RBG today and I think she would want me to start with the equality portion of the book. You know how WAP by Cardi B has become this feminist anthem, teaching women to boldly flaunt their sexuality and be proud of it? Well This Sucks is Carrie’s and Cora’s WAP. I mean, not actually, ‘Cause that’s a different kind of book. But this book has serious undertones of feminist empowerment. We have Drew, our main character and head of marketing for an adult toy company geared towards female pleasure. Her job alone would be enough, but Drew also unabashedly acknowledges her own sexual needs and pushes other women to do the same. Even when the king of vampires, Diego, comes a’courtin’, Drew does not even dare swoon, nope, she makes him work for it. She is constantly challenging his rules and pushing him to recognize her worth, beyond any physical or fated attraction. Drew is just fine with speaking up for things she thinks are wrong, even when faced with a slew of judgey, rich and powerful vampires. And through all of that? She is still proudly obsessed with pink and fluffy/ sparkly things.

Diego is a hugely powerful and insanely hot vampire king, but he meets his match in Drew. From the moment they meet, Diego is torn between kissing her or killing her and her refusal to bend to his will only further confuses those options. Diego is not the stereotypical vampire romance hero though. He has real life feelings, from the pain of his past, loneliness in his role as king, and his feelings about love. He’s definitely a hot, alpha male, but he doesn’t detract from the strength of Drew, he complements it.

Carrie and Cora are the author duo of my dreams and I love them with my whole heart. They can write comedy that will make you cackle, but still tug on your emotions just when you think you’re reading a silly rom com. This book is hilarious, I mean, I didn’t even address Betty and she is one of my favorite parts of the book, but the humor isn’t shallow. These authors write humor that is smart and punny and relatable, the kind of humor that makes you want to have mimosas with the ones that wrote it, because you just know they would have you snorting in real life too. Oh, and yeah, there is a scene with some ghostie loving going on, in case all the rest doesn’t sway you.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

I treat eating pancakes on patios like it's a personality trait. Brunch is my jam. I like the beach, shopping, carbs, and reading naughty books on the train during my commute. I wear pink. Lots of it. If Tinder were an Olympic sport,I'd take home the gold. I can rock stilettos like they're a pair of Nike joggers. I'm basically basic. I'm in the prime of my life. I've got my dream job as the head of marketing at a huge company, and I've been steadily dating myself for the better half of the last decade. I'm thirty, flirty, and thriving! Or at least I was until some jerk had the audacity to turn me into a vampire. I don't do blood and doom and gloom. I sure don't like sleeping in a coffin, avoiding garlic bread, and these ridiculous vamp politics. And don't get me started on Diego. He's vampire royalty and a pain in my butt. A very sexy pain in the butt. When he's not driving me crazy with all his rules, he's turning my panties into Niagra falls. I absolutely refuse to live the rest of my immortal life in some wannabe nineties grunge music video. THIS SUCKS

First and foremost this book is hilarious. I was laughing out loud with my family looking at me like I had lost my minds at times. This is were you meet Drew. She is a sassy, smart, funny, and full of fire. She has an outlook on life that will have you spitting out your drink if you drink and read this book at the same time. She has some outlooks on things that will have you in stitches and she really is great at making observations. Then there is Diego. Good great goodness this man is darkness and night but burns brighter than the sun. No way can you not fall in love with this grumpy and hilarious man. He is such a fun match for Drew. You guys just have to read the book. I don't want to give much away. Except that I loved it!!

Would you want to be a Vampire?

I’m not going to lie, I would love to. They are fast and strong, plus all the other amazing abilities they have. Sign this girl up!

🆆🅴🅻🅻 🆃🅷🅸🆂 🆂🆄🅲🅺🆂 by @authorcoraleejune and @author.carriegray was a laugh out loud, steamy romance, with VAMPIRES!

Yes. You read that right. It’s like they wrote this book specifically with me in mind.

🅳🆁🅴🆆 is the ultimate heroine. She’s sassy, confident and smart. She cusses like a sailor and isn’t afraid to say what’s on her mind, no matter how provocative it may be.

𝕯𝖎𝖊𝖌𝖔 Hot! Sexy! A King! Did I mention he’s hot! I instantly loved Diego. He was perfect for Drew.

Their chemistry is off the charts and you’ll be routing for these two the entire book.

Here’s my only draw back from the book. And this is only my opinion so don’t come at me with your crazy....but the epilogue left me with questions. And trust me when I say this may have been the authors intent, maybe there is a second book, maybe not. But honestly if there isn’t a second book, I may be a little bummed because I FEEL like it was set up so there could be more. But if not then...ugh....it bums out.

Well This Sucks by Carrie Gray and Coralee June does not suck at all! It's a lighthearted, funny story that kept me turning the pages and had me laughing out loud.

Drew Lane wasn't planning on becoming a vampire's meal when she accepted a flirty invitation to join her waiter in the back alley of a 3-star restaurant after ending a horrendous Tinder date. She really wasn't planning on waking up as the newest member of an undead coven.

Drew's journey to becoming a full-fledged vampire is full of wit, sarcasm and funny banter. Drew is a feisty, free-spirited, independent woman who doesn't want a man telling her what to do, but she's immediately drawn to the Vampire King, Diego, and wants to please him. Is it because she's truly attracted to him or is there something more going on?

Carrie Gray and CoraLee June are an amazing author team and I really enjoyed this lighter story from them. Laugh-out-loud vampire fun!

Well This Sucks is a fun read from Carrie Gray and Coralee June. I'm not a huge fan of PNR so I wasn't sure how much I was going to like this book. But these two did amazing things with this book. This slow burn rom-com had be hooked.

I loved that Drew and Diego were instantly attracted to each other but it was a slow burn. While this book was a rom-com it had plenty of twist, turns, and betrayal. I could almost forget the fact they were vampires. Even vampires have drama, and I love other people's drama.

The secondary characters were just as amazing as the main characters. Everyone brought something to the table.

I loved every second of this book. I laughed until I cried but it also had steam. Gray and June delivered a fun, sexy read that had me hooked form start to finish. It's a must read rom-com.

What a fun read!!!!!
I love paranormal and haven’t read a good one in awhile. This book brought it all out and made me crave the paranormal once again.

Drew is a feisty, empowering woman on a mission to dominate the professional world in pink, pink and pink.
Oh, and heels.
She wouldn’t be complete without her entourage of BFFs.

While I absolutely loved Drew and Diego I also fell for the secondary characters. Each of their introductions pulled me further into this world and makes me want more!

Diego is a brooding beast that is having a hard time coming to term with this new fledgling that won’t listen and gives as good as she gets. Frustrating is a word for it!

The push, the pull, the laugh out loud moments. And all the Corky lines make this a book that is hard to put down.
Hot!! Did I mention the “scenes” are HOT!!! A bit of a slow burn but totally worth it.

This book hasn’t even officially came out yet and I can’t wait to sink my teeth into the next book!!
I hope there is a next book!!
