“When your whole world is shaken from all the risks we have taken, dance with me. Dance with me into the colors of dusk.” ~ Ben Harper.

I’ve served my country, a man, and a cause. I’ve given my whole being while at the same time finding its true meaning. There was no way for me to know the day I met the men who were to become my best friends that they would introduce me to the love of my life.

Fiery red hair and hypnotizing emerald eyes caught my attention.
Creamy, soft skin, a stark contrast to mine, seduced my body.
Strength, devotion, and determination stole my heart.

I am Reid Murray, and I’ll kill without regret to once again dance in the dusk with my wife. This war has only begun. I won’t rest until it’s done.

From New York Times bestselling author comes a brand-new dark romance, DUSK, set in the dangerous world of Sparrow Webs. You do not need to read Web of Sin, Tangled Web, or Web of Desire to get caught up in this new and intriguing saga, Dangerous Web.

DUSK is book one of the DANGEROUS WEB trilogy that continues in DARK and concludes in DAWN.

WOW! Alethea Romig has done it again! Her writing is captivating. When you start one of her books, you just don't want to put it down. Just like this one, Reid and Lorna's story. Of all the Sparrow Webs, I think Dusk is the most intriguing that got me engaged right from the start. The suspense was palpable all the way through. In a series of flashback which provide a pivotal moment between Reid and Lorna relationship were clever and done right. Recurring characters (Sterling and Araneae, Mason and Laurel, Patrick, and Madeline) are still mesmerizing to read about. This book grabs the reader with so many emotions and has a cliffhanger ending. Can’t wait for the next one. Read this book. It is well worth your time.

This whole series has had the blood rushing through my veins. My heart pounding. My hands sweating.

Lorna has always been my favourite of the Sparrow women. She was the first one. The mother figure that made sure all of the men were looked after. The nurturer, the sense of calm in the Sparrow storm.

And Reid, the swoony, gorgeous, devoted Reid. I had wondered what Aleatha would give us for their book. We already know they are married and besotted with each other, so what extra could Aleatha do?

I never expected this story! Unpredictable. Unputdownable. It made me cry. It made me fall even more in love with Lorna and Reid. I even liked Sterling. Just a little bit, but he actually grew on me.

There’s one bit in it (don’t worry no spoilers here) that made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up because the love and the friendship between the Sparrows was just beautiful. A decision is made, protect those we love, mobilise and assemble.

It was amazing. Now I wait for more.

5 Star Review of Dusk (Dangerous Webb) by Aleatha Romig

Dusk is the first book in the latest series Dangerous Web from Aleatha Romig. This is Reid Murray and Lorna Pierce's story and although I haven’t read any of the previous books in the Web series, I had no trouble reading and enjoying this book.

Reid is a computer genius, a former soldier and a man who can be depended on, along with his best friends Mason Pierce, Patrick Kelly, and Sterling Sparrow. Falling for Lorna, Mason’s sister should have been easy but it wasn’t.
I really liked both Reid and Lorna, both separately and especially together. There were many twists and turns, mystery and suspense and I was often on the edge of my seat as I read this story and I cannot wait to see what happens in the next two books Dark and Dawn.

This is the first book in the Dangerous Web Trilogy and is followed by DARK and concludes with DAWN. It not necessary that you have read the previous books in the Sparrow Webs, but if you haven’t you will want to go back and see all the other characters and their individual stories.
When we met Reid and Lorna in the first book they were married so I wasn’t sure we would ever get their story, but I’m so glad we are finally taking this journey. There are so many amazing parts of this story told in flashbacks and of course there is the usual suspense elements including kidnapping and espionage. And a doozy of a cliffhanger. I am not so anxiously awaiting the release of DARK in January 2021!

Reid and Lorna finally get their story and boy it’s fantastic! From the first page your drawn into the Sparrow world and all of the wonderful characters. Dusk takes you on a wild and crazy ride with a glimpse into Lorna and Reid’s past, how their love story started, but it in know way takes away from the present story and the twist and turns of this magnificent read! A fresh new spin for the Sparrow world that will keep you glued to the pages!

I was Captivated. Right from the start. Sucked in in true Aleatha Romig style. Dusk is amazing. The first of the Dangerous Web trilogy, I am sure this is going to be my favorite, it’s just that good. I could not, and did not, put this book down until I read every last word. All in one sitting. I was hanging onto every word, on every page until there were no more pages left to read! I kept looking for more, but alas, I now have to wait for Dark. Which can’t come soon enough for me. If you haven’t been Aleatha’d yet, what are you waiting for? 100 stars!

Romantic Thriller!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💋💋💋
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 👏👏👏👏👏
World building: 🌎🌏🌍🌎🌏
Character development: 🤓🥸😎😤😳

The setting: Chicago

The Hero: Reid Murray – Works for Sparrow. Sterling Sparrow is the kingpin of the Chicago underground as well as the head of Sparrow Enterprises. Reid is the Technology specialist of the group, he is quiet and knows everything there is to know about computers.

The heroine: Lorna Murray (previously Pierce) – grew up poor, from the wrong side of the tracks. Her brother Mason did his time in the armed forces in the middle east before he began working with Sterling, Reid and another guy Patrick. Mason brought Lorna to live with them for her own safety.

The Love Story: Reid and Lorna fell in love despite initially hiding their relationship from Mason. They lived in the Tower, a luxury building in Chicago owned by Sparrow.

I hadn’t read any of the other Sparrow Webs books prior to this one except the 80 page prequel called Dangers First Kiss that read like a Cinderella retelling. That one was basically the meet-cute between Reid and Lorna. This book, though is full of intrigue. It begins with Lorna and Sterling Sparrow’s pregnant wife Araneae are both kidnapped and thrown in a dirty cell somewhere by thugs.

The story was good, it was interesting and suspenseful. I said this in another review a few days back, but I am sick lately of books that keep moving from then till now and back (flashbacks). I know they are a valid plot device and create mystery and suspense while furthering the story, but also they are like little cliffhangers when the story is just getting good it will switch from the present to the past or vice versa.

In this one it was the love story between Reid and Lorna in the past and the Kidnapping in the present. I guess I just like to have things in their proper order, but hey that could be due to reading too many books with flashbacks lately.

Like I said the story was great. The romance between Reid and Lorna was minimal and told in flashbacks, but you could tell that they really had a connection and love each other. There was one steamy bedroom scene and it seemed almost obligatory. I almost wouldn’t count this as a romance, more of a thriller. There were some big surprises near the end and I thought I knew what was going on, but I was wrong. I like it when a book can surprise me like that!

I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

ღ DUSK is the first instalment in Aleatha Romig’s new series

What can I tell you that hasn't already been said! this is one phenomenal spectacular read! To be honest I really really tried not to read this book right away, cuz I knew there would be a Cliffhanger, but I got so lost in the book that I didn’t realize that I was at the end of the book, until it was too late! it had pulled me in that easy

Darkness has fallen upon the Sparrow world.
What seemed secure was breached, and what was assumed unattainable is possible.
In this dangerous underground world, we Sparrows took our power by force. As dusk gave way to dark, we Sparrows are once again determined to use any means necessary to recover what is ours, secure our stronghold, and defeat those who appear unconquerable.
The gauntlet has been thrown.
We will not retreat.
Darkness be damned. It is time for triumph.
I am Reid Murray.
For my wife and my brothers-in-arms, nothing, not even darkness, will stop the Sparrows from victory.

Honestly, I don't believe I can say it any better than that

Absolutely wonderful!! In a perfectly told story, incorporating past and present storylines, Reid and Lorna’s story shines. I simply could not put my kindle down wanting to know more and more.

The Sparrow World is addicting in my opinion. Reid is the last alpha to have his story told. Reid and Lorna have been together since the first series but we never really knew their story. They were married and part of the Sparrow world. But now we get to know how their past has shaped them and how the present is now shaping to be full of twists and turns, dangerous situations and new revelations. All I can say is get ready to be Aleatha’d.

I love the Sparrow world.
The characters are fantastic, every series is full of love, suspense and twists and the bond among the 4 main male characters is powerful and outstanding!

In the new Dangerous Web series, Reid and Lorna’s story unfolded.

Lorna and Reid shared a beautiful and strong connection, their love was undeniable, and as the main plot was evolving there were some flashbacks as to introduce us to their backgrounds.

A very suspenseful romantic story, very well written, with mystery, great twists and turns, strong and devoted characters and a pace that kept me on my toes!

The Queen, The Goddess, The Master of Cliffhangers has done it again, I'M DYING HERE I NEED DARK NOW!!!

From the very beginning I wondered if we would ever get Reid and Lorna's story because they have been a married couple since the first book in the Sparrow Webs Connection. In SECRETS we knew that Reid and Lorna were married and Lorna was Mason's sister we knew a couple of other things but not much at all so I am so happy that we have gotten their story.

We are starting off this trilogy with a bang and are left with a whopper of a cliffhanger! I absolutely loved the way I got sucked into the Sparrow World again, Lorna and Reid are great together and I really enjoyed the flashbacks to when they first began dating nine years prior.

What can I really say!!! Who in their right mind would dare kidnap the Kingpin Sterling Sparrow heart of heart who would dare walk away with the top of the Sparrows organization women. Someone with a death wish because the Sparrow's outfit will do everything until they get their women back.

This is Reid Murray & Lorna Pierce Murray story and of course the Sparrow organization. How they met when Reid laid eyes on his wife for the first time and how they fell in love. How much Lorna's brother Mason sacrficed for his family due to a unfit mother and a missing sister sold into sex trafficking. But when Lorna Murray & Aranae was taking thinking they were someone else the Sparrow organization will not stop or leave a stone unturned to find the love of their lives.

So was this kidnapping a distraction to get the Sparrow's thinking of other enemies to leave their glass tower or was it someone from their past coming back for revenge. A must read and definitely a cliffy as no one does it better than Aleatha Romig. Aleatha leaves salving for more.

THE REVIEW FOR THE BOOK: DUSK.

It was as if I was at the point where light and dark meet. Dusk or dawn, which would win?

This is the first installation in the Dangerous Web Series focusing on Reid and Lorna's story in the dangerous thrilling action-filled world of THE SPARROWS...

Just FYI, to read ou would like read about their first meeting, told in a modern-day Cinderella themed story, please search for DARK FAIRY TALES, or after it is no longer available, DANGER’S FIRST KISS, by Aleatha, on your favorite retailer.

Once again, Aleatha Romig has rendered me speechless with her writing...We have met Reid and Lorna way before in the previous books... we know that they are both already married but that's not the end of the drama for them. On the contrary it's just the beginning. I want to write so much about this but sadly...No no spoilers...and believe me..Every word in this book has a twist and a plot behind it....

I am Reid Murray, and I’ll kill without regret to once again dance in the dusk with my wife.

Lorna has always been the mother-type, nurturing woman and Reid the computer brains of the Sparrow...They bring true love and just out of the oven hot chemistry in the book...Aside from them, we also see the Camaderie formed between these dangerous men of the Sparrows and the love they shared as the Family.

The story is pivoted from both past and the present perfect with us knowing the history of their relationship and in the present the pain of "separation" they feel.

I recommend you to read all the trilogies preceding this book but this can also be read as a standalone series...But you will be missing out on the other sexy Alpha Sparrow Men ...Sterling, Mason, and Patrick who has also appeared in this book...

Dusk is an intriguing and beautiful story focused on Reid and Lorna in the Sparrow series.
This story was complicated and very well written, snaring the reader from page one! There is kidnapping and espionage, as well as flash backs to happier times of love, and sadder times of upbringing. I was engaged and committed whole heartedly in this story, I could not put it down!
I am excitedly, patiently waiting for book 2, Dark!

REVIEW: 4.25 stars—DUSK is the first instalment in Aleatha Romig’s contemporary, adult DANGEROUS WEB romantic suspense trilogy set in the author’s Sparrow Webs world. This is Reid Murray and Lorna Pierce-Murray’s continuing story. DUSK can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous series is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading the other series as the story line premise references things that have happened in the author trilogies.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the storyline premise, there may be some triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Lorna and Reid) using two timelines (present day and nine years in the past) DUSK follows in the aftermath of the abduction of Reid’s wife Lorna, and Sparrow’s wife Araneae. As Reid Murray and Lorna’s brother Mason Pierce struggle to make sense of the security breach at Sparrow’s Montana ranch, the possibilities and probabilities are endless as to the who, how and why of the women’s abduction . Meanwhile, Lorna and Araneae find themselves locked in a cell, facing a stranger who demands information that reveals the women are not the intended victims. Separated from one another, battered and bruised, Lorna and Araneae struggle with what happened, and the loss of memories from the time of their imprisonment.

DUSK is an emotional and and intriguing story of secrets, lies, power and control. Aleatha Romig pulls the reader into a heart pounding and captivating tale of betrayal and vengeance wherein haunting dreams are the reality of life. DUSK ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.

Where do I even start this review? Dusk is the tenth book in the Sparrow Webs saga but the first book in the trilogy all about Lorna and Reid. I have been waiting for their story since they were introduced into the saga. Lorna and Reid are the only married couple of the Sparrow from the beginning, but this book starts with a bang as Lorna and Araenae are kidnapped. Reid, Sparrow, Patrick, and Mason must find them and why they are kidnapped. There is much action, and the story keeps you on the edge of your seat. There is a cliffhanger ending being this is a book one and makes you want the next book immediately.

Aleatha Romig is an incredible author and this is another amazing book, once you start you cannot put it down, it ensnares you and pulls you in.  Lorna and Reid have always been the steady,  undramatic pair in the Sparrow family, but not anymore.  Reading while holding your breath is not easy to do.  Dusk is nonstop from the first page and will bring tears to your eyes at times as well as sighs of relief, only to be back to holding your breath on the next page.  This book also elaborates on the other couples that live in the Tower and thereby has an added dimension and interest as well as giving a deeper insight into the Sparrow world.  It is very well done and does not impede the flow of the story, it just adds to it.

I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.

This is a new series by Aleatha and it sucks you right in, just like her other books do.

This is Reid and Lorna's book and you get to see their beginning and their current situation. Everyone is searching for the missing women and nobody is sleeping. With the women missing and the men trying to figure out where their leak or misstep is, the Order is the only group that comes to mind when they piece everything together.

With a mind that can't remember, kidnappers who give nothing away and pasts that will creep into the present, as the reader, you'll be cursing Aleatha for not having all of the books lined up, ready to go. This won't leave you disappointed, but may leave you breathless after you have held your breath the entire book!

I knew I shouldn't have started this book right when it came in, but I just couldn't help myself. Despite having a newborn and not getting enough sleep as it is, I sacrificed even more sleep for this book. Once you get started, you're not going to want to put it down.

I liked this one. Especially the beginning. I think the past/present chapters worked very well here and it was nice to view the Reid and Lorna's beginning of their relationship. I didn't read the last trilogy (Web of Desire trilogy), but I can't help if the ending in that one led to the beginning of Dangerous Web series. If so I'm sure it was minimal, because I believe Aleatha did say these are standalone trilogies. It didn't take me long to remember who's who, etc... Of course with the ending here makes me sure I'll be back for Dark book 2.

I received this book at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Dusk is the first book of the Dangerous Web series. Reid Murray and Lorna Pierce's story, Aleatha, introduced them in the Web of Sin series and gave us a little back story on how they met in Cinderella, a novella published in Dark Fairy Tales earlier this year. But no worries, if you didn't read it, you can still enjoy this story.

Reid Murray is the computer wizard, a sleuth finder of hidden gems on the screen, be it computers or videos. But don't let his brains fool you; he will break your neck if necessary. He is a trained soldier like his best friends, Mason Pierce, Patrick Kelly, and Sterling Sparrow. These four men are not only friends, soldiers, and brothers who served their country and now maintain Chicago's underbelly.

Mason's sister is Lorna, a fiery red-head with creamy porcelain skin and emerald green eyes that will melt your soul. When Reid meets Lorna at a party, he falls head or heels in love. This story has all the feels, but there are so many hurdles. The mysteries and challenges are never-ending. I love the whole Web series: Tangled Web, Web of Secrets, and Web of Desire.

Aleatha Romig has done it again. This story started with a bang and ended with a WTF is going on? We are back in the Sparrow world with Lorna and Reid's story. The only question I have after reading this first book of the Dangerous Web series is, who took Lorna and what do they really want?
I will not give anything away, I hate when spoilers are given and it ruins the story. So I will just tell you to be prepared for a roller coaster ride of emotion because when you step on at chapter one, it begins. I love how the story is filled with suspense and keeps you on the edge of your seat. So hold on tight and keep your hands inside and enjoy the ride. Book two is coming and I know that author Aleatha Romig will give us even more of an emotional turmoil story.

Ahhhh! That is my scream of excitement as I finish this book. Good grief, Aleatha Romig can weave a story so amazingly! What a fantastic twist of events the ending of this book leaves us with. Holy smokes, I need the next book now!

I just cannot get enough of this series and this incredible world Aleatha Romig has brought us. I was so anxious to get Reid and Lorna’s story. I had no idea what it was going to consist of, but, in true Aleatha Romig fashion, not only is it more than I could have hoped but I’m left chomping at the bit for more!

Fast paced, high energy, characters we’ve grown to love, and a storyline that captivates from the start, Dusk will leave your heart racing and mind spinning. Bring on Dark!

The first in Reid and Lorna's Web, and boy oh boy, it hits the ground running. Anyone familiar with the Sparrow world knows how it goes, but if this is your first, you might be surprised at the pace. Once you read the first words, you better hold on tight. The questions and suspense, the mystery and conflict are consuming. The breadcrumbs are left to make our minds spin, while small pieces of the puzzle are starting to be fit together. What we have here is just the tip of the iceberg, I can't wait for Dark~

I cannot get enough of this world that this author has created; just when you think every secret has been uncovered and this story has nowhere left to go ... BOOM!! Aleatha Romig pulls another cracker of a plot that had me questioning who? What? Where? And why? This has it all ... romance, suspense, mystery, killer plot , four hot guys that just love their woman with every fibre of their being !!

Whilst the previous three trilogies move forward with the hero meeting and falling in love with the heroine , this book is slightly different . Lorna and Reid are already married but we are taken back in time to when they first fell in love and got married. Whilst these two characters have a presence in the previous books they don’t really play a big part so it’s great to finally get to know them. We soon learn that they truly are the backbone of the sparrow outfit!

What a cliffhanger, I am left aghast at the clever penmanship of Ms Romig and the ability to hook her readers into the pages from the very beginning!! I have once again been Aleatha’d !!

Dusk is #1 in The Dangerous Web trilogy.

The start of Reid and Lorna's story was 1000% more than I was anticipating!

I did not put it down from start to finish. I also found that I HAD to read the Prequel first - Danger's first Kiss. Just to read their beginning.

Everything about Lorna and Reid's Story is so Beautiful!

I found myself at times holding my breath.
This book had so many freaking suspenseful moments it was hard to sit still!

We also have in Dusk all our Favourite couple's from the Sparrow World also which I Loved.

One darn thing is for sure, I cannot wait for Dawn!

Aleatha Romig is so darned good at this writing gig it is no wonder I consider her one of my favourite authors.

Oh wow!! Dusk will grab your attention from the first page and hold you tightly til the last one. We all met Reid and Lorna in the previous Sparrow books. I always hoped Aleatha would write their story and I think this trilogy will be my new favorite. Twists and turns, the whole Sparrow family dynamics, they all love and protect each other even if they’re not blood relatives, they are family. Can’t wait to read the rest of the trilogy.

Loved. We meet Lorna and Reid in Lies (Web of Sin). In each book, in the Sparrow Webs, we got to know them a little better and now we get to know their story. Dusk brings us full circle from the beginning until now. Lorna is such a beautiful loving character, she has always been one of my favorites of the Sparrow family.

Lorna and Reid will warm your heart becoming one of your favorite couples. Can't wait for the rest of this story.

Shelby – ☆☆☆☆☆
Another series based in the Web of Sin world, by Aleatha Romig – Yes, Please!

Lorna and Reid have been in each and every book since the beginning, but this can be read as a standalone; although reading the previous Web books all build up to this. I can't be the only one that's been patiently [impatiently] waiting for this couple's story.

As per usual with any Aleatha Romig books, this story grabbed me from page one and hasn't let go. Not your typical romance, instead this is a story of an existing couple with glimpses to their past and how they got to this point. While these scenes are sweet and relatively tame, the rest of the book is a dark, twisted journey. The suspense is expertly built, and I know I will never figure this one out. This doesn't mean I will stop trying, it just means that book two needs to come out sooner rather than later!
