Dark --- book 2 Dangerous WEB by Aleatha Romig

As I dive into the depths of darkness a darkness I have been waiting for to find out more of what is happening? why did it happen ? and now what happens next ?
Skilfully written taking the reader on an incredible journey one that started long ago and is not finished yet.
More lies and deception added with memories are they truth or lies ?
Lorna is such an outstanding woman , strong , courageous with bravery worn as a badge of honour .
Reed , well , I think we would all love a Reed in our lives , he will do anything for Lorna , she is his life …
What he finds isn't for the faint hearted , how he deals with the problem ,Brings in the clean up guys !
Such a fascinating series , one that is addictive once you start you cannot put the kindle down ..
Its extremely interesting seeing the personalities of the “ Sparrow “ women .
Another wonderful book from Aleatha with such weaving in and out of situations more than five stars , much more.

What I love about this series is its connection to Sparrow's world. While I have enjoyed each series, I think my two favourites have been the first series and this one. The former because it was the introduction of Sparrow's world and this one because all the characters have been introduced and it builds on from the others. The three previous series are interconnected and interweave into each other creating a richer and complex world in this collection of stories.

In this installment, Aleatha has shown the significance of memories. Even though a person suppresses a memory, it doesn't mean that it will stay forgotten. The past has a way of returning and it is important to have people around you to support you through it. Lorna will need this especially when you see the flashbacks of her life. She's had to be strong for so much of her life that it is wonderful that Reid is there to be a pillar of strength for her. Plus she has the other females to rally around her. That doesn't mean she isn't strong. Far from it. She is a resilient woman who thinks about others and makes sacrifices for those she loves. For Reid, it seems that the world is darkening around him and Lorna is the only light in his life. It looks like there are multiple entities at play but I'm still uncertain as to their end game. Aleatha leaves us on a cliffhanger and I can't help but be a little apprehensive on how all of this will pan out. It will be difficult to wait for Dawn but I'm sure all the answers will be contained within its pages.

This book was very satisfying and made my heart happy for several reasons. But I don’t do spoilers so I’ll just state that Aleatha Romig is the QUEEN of Suspense and Drama in the Romance world!!! I really love how ALL the characters from the Sparrow Web books are intrinsically involved throughout the entire book.

As ever when you finished one of this talented authors books you are at a slight hiatus. What , why how. A cliffhanger is such a simple word but didn’t possibly describe the ending of her second book, in this trilogy. The second book starts immediately where the guest ended. Lorna has been recovered, battered, bruised, unconscious , bitten by ants. Her life is hanging by a thread. Although her wounds do not appear to be life threatening, the deep trauma of the psychological impact is devastating to Reid, as he feels he has totally let her down and Lorna as her memory appears to have been wiped in certain areas. Has she been not only physically abused and tortured but sexually. This book is very dark in places, and leaves the imagination sometimes to fill in the blanks. Child abuse is a topic mentioned and described with compassion and the naivety of a child . It has obviously been researched but described sympathetically from the child’s point of view, and horrendously by the perpetrator. The story flows well and the brutality is not for gratification but for the soul content of the storyline. There are some exceptionally tender moments described also between Reid and Lorna, and there is always suspense, drama an bundles of intrigue. Racism is also a topic that is mentioned, but again in a sensitive and yet typical stereo type way. In all an excellent second book in this particular journey of Lorna and Reid, but other previously mentioned characters play a very important role. This is not a stand alone, and at the very least is essential to have read the first book in this series. We are definitely left on a knifes edge, waiting for the final enstallment . Patience!

Ms. Romig has created such an astoundingly brilliant saga with intelligent depth. I love her gifted creativeness put into words and I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if this entire series is a made for TV series one day. I must reiterate; even though it’s not necessary, I cannot stress enough how much it would benefit (the newbies) of this latest trilogy to start at the beginning of the whole series: (SPARROW WEBS SERIES), just to acquaint ones self with the importance and sophistication of the Sparrow group, (especially just how influential and powerful the King Kingpin, Sterling Sparrow is..), and the detailed depth and intricacies of their work. And...just the full cast of characters, their importance, their histories and how complex the Sparrow group was plotted, planned and eventually born. You won’t be sorry... So....Revenge! This second installment of this trilogy, delves more into each of the 8 main characters; reiterating and giving more in depth history of their pasts, all the while moving steadfastly forward with Reid and Sterling’s hard fixed mission of revenge and why Laurel was/is the target. The healing begins and slowly progresses with Lorna and Araneae, finding answers and seeking justice.

I enjoyed reading book 2 in the Web series.Lots of background information and more details into Lorna and Mason’s childhood. Again another cliffhanger that I will need to wait a month for the conclusion. Great writing, details and in-depth account into Lorna, Mason and the Sparrow family. I’m addicted and can’t wait to learn more and conclude the story. Well worth the read, but best if you read prior series although author does fill u in on important details. Highly recommend. I love reading A. Romig novels...I’m hooked. Thanks 😊
