An outstanding fantasy thrill ride from a first time author! Unique twists and rich characters take the reader on a journey through a deeply detailed world. Looking forward to what happens next!
I picked up this book at a book signing. Its really not my kind of fantasy but I like Dan’s approach to magic. It not the same wizard story as in many other fantasies and that’s part of what makes the story interesting. But the best part is the search for the main character’s family. I was riveted by his search and had to know if he was going to find them.
Intriguing concepts and well-developed characters populate The Alterator's Light. Sadly, Einer and Sean do not accomplish what I thought they might but it is good that this is only book one of The Rune Cycle! I especially look forward to learning more about Sean, Kirian, and Melek. On the occasions that I had to set the book aside for very long, I found the details of the multiple storylines hard to remember.
