Kings of Carolina #3

Stealing Kisses With a King

Rate this book
He makes my heart do the tango and my head want to explode. In other words, it’s just another day working for Prince Malcolm.

ALICE:
Give me a problem and I’ll fix it. That’s what I do. The trick is remaining calm and preparing oneself for any eventuality. But even I failed to anticipate my former boss, Malcolm, crossing an ocean to bribe me for my help. He insists I’m the only one who can fix his problem, but I had an excellent reason for leaving that job in the first place and putting an ocean between us. It’s hard to keep the big picture in mind when you’re secretly in love with your boss. And even harder when he’s about to be crowned a king.

MALCOLM:
Being a prince certainly has its perks: money, cars, women, and a license to do just about anything I please. But since my assistant, Alice, resigned out of the blue, I’ve been unable to find my footing and have admittedly been a bit cranky. When a problem arises calling for the utmost discretion, it’s clear Alice is the only woman for the job. But she’s less than thrilled at being coerced into returning, and she’s doing her best to make me pay for it. With the clock ticking down to my coronation, I’m putting all my trust in her to see me through. But the stakes are getting higher because Alice is beginning to look more like my future than even the throne I was born to take.

Stealing Kisses With a King is book 3 in the Kings of Carolina series. It can be enjoyed as a standalone, but is swoonier (yeah, I made that word up) when read in order.

This is a good rom-comedy. It has a good story line and characters. Malcolm and Alice have good chemistry too. That makes the story more enjoyable. I have not read the previous books from the series, but it's still enjoyable and I couldn't put it down.

Pick this one up if you want some good rom-com!

I received a free ARC copy of this book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is my first time reading this author and series. This is book 3 in the series and one and two feature two characters connected to this story, Leo and Ruby. This story is a standalone and has a happy for now ending.

The main male character in this story is 27 year old, Malcolm who is about to become king of his European nation in three weeks time. He is suffering because he lost his assistant, Alice. Malcolm is Leo's twin brother and Alice is very close with Leo's fiancee, Ruby. In fact she has moved to the United States and is spending time with Ruby's uncle since she quit her job and dodging Mal's texts and calls, while working at a new company.

Mal is so desperate for her he comes to the United States to try and convince her to come back to work for him for the next three weeks. She agrees to come and train her replacement and thats when this book starts getting so great.

Mal is a total laugh riot. As Alice calls him, he is a Man-Baby and he totally is. But as you read the story he starts to grow up as he falls hard and starts to see how awesome Alice is.

I highly enjoyed reading this romance and I liked all the characters. I felt the romance was very light and it was more about the characters and the laughter than hotness and sexy times.

It is definitely a slow burn romance as Mal is very slow in seeing Alice. Also they never date, so its more of a working relationship/friendship leading to kisses and more.

I received this free eARC novel from the author and Wildfire Marketing Solutions. This is my honest review.

Malcolm and Alice were such an odd bunch that you can help but root for them! This is the first book I've read by this author, and while these characters are new to their own book, this is part of a series. I'm not sure if reading the previous two books about Malcolm's brother, Leo, would have cleared up some confusing bits in the novel, but I definitely don't think you have to read the other two to understand this novel.

I respect Alice hardcore. She knew her personal feelings were going to become an issue one way or another in the future working for Malcolm, so she removed herself from the problem should would encounter. And that takes a lot of self-will because not many people would do that. Then again, Malcolm always gets what he wants and with Alice on the brain to come back and fix all of his problems, she had no chance when it came down to it.

Honestly, Malcolm at the beginning of the book really annoyed me because he was self-centered and selfish. He never really thought about too much more than himself, so it rubbed me the wrong way. It was nice to see him finally grow up, and that he did it on his own too, that Alice didn't change him. So in the end it was good, but I struggled just a little bit at the beginning.

Overall, I thought this book was cute and it definitely showed character development for BOTH of the characters, so that was a plus! I'm glad I got a chance to read this book and I may look into reading more by Sylvie Stewart.

Alice and Malcolm are finally getting their own book. After reading the first two books in this series I already had a serious crush on Alice and a fondness for the charming and clueless baby man Malcolm has appeared to be.

Being a crown prince doesn’t build character when everyone goes above and beyond to make your life easier. Fortunately he has his twin brother and his sister to try to ground him.

His assistant Alice left him due to his actions in the previous book. Now he’s totally miserable and lost trying to get her back. It’s hilarious the way he is oblivious to his own feelings and the reason why he wants her back in his life.

Being the prim and proper assistant Alice is responsible and sensible, planning ahead and always doing the right thing. Now it’s right to try something new to protect her heart. But before you know it, she’s back in her home land trying to get the new assistant up to speed whilst she is spending more time with the crown prince in private.

The crown prince has his master plan to make her happy, trying to get her to stay and this love story will make you laugh out loud, swoon, and maybe curse a little. The story takes a winding turn and both have a lot of growing up to do to ensure a happy ending. I’m not willing to spoil everything but I couldn’t put it down.

I was so excited to read Mal’s book. I have been patiently waiting to get my hands on it and loved every second! Stealing Kisses With A King was the third book in Sylvie’s Kings of Carolina series. It was sweet, magical, and super swoony!

Alice was a planner, she dotted her i’s and crossed her t’s, but her heart had a mind of its own. It decided to fall in love...and not just with anybody but somebody who was about to become king, not to mention, her boss! She tried to fight it but she knew she wouldn’t be able to do her job as time went on. She did what she thought was best for everyone, but was that the right decision?

Malcolm was about to become king but often didn’t act like it. When Alice left, he had to figure out what he needed to apologize for to get her back. She was the only one that kept him on track and put up with his antics. But did he really just miss her for her organizational skills or was there something more? Would he be able to figure it out before it was too late?

Oh Malcolm!! He grew up so much, I was so proud. This was such a fun book to read. I loved the two of them together and their journey was perfect! I hope we get to see more of these royals, I was not ready to say goodbye!

The prince is a bit clueless. I take that back he’s a lot clueless, he really does need things spelled out for him. It’s kinda endearing and frustrating all at the same time.

Alice left her job as his assistant and he wants her back. We are left wondering if romantically or is it because she’s really good at her job (which she is by the way). He travels halfway across the world to woo her back.

She’s a little confused by the gesture, he flew by commercial (very sweet) but bought her flowers which she’s allergic to. She’s agreed to go back temporarily. She’s different than she was before, seems she has grown ball in his absence. He’s loving the new unfiltered Alice.

I really enjoyed this story, it was a sweet funny romantic story.

I received an arc of this book from Wildfire marketing and the author in exchange for an honest review. Let me start by saying Sylvie is a new author for me and the storyline attracted me.

Alice was once the administrative assistant to a prince. While she did this job for a few years she came to realize. That she had fallen for the prince who would be crowned king. So she resigns which hey, I understand. She wanted to do the right thing, and put distance between them. Moving across the continent to put space between them.

Malcolm has enjoyed his life as a prince and is about to be crowned king. Yet he finds he misses his former assistant. Though he probably wouldn't admit it to just anyone. While his new one is doing a decent job. Well, he wants Alice back, and Malcolm always gets what he wants. When he learns her location, Malcolm wastes no time in flying to the States. Except Alice refuses to return to her old job. When a situation provides a solution the prince takes advantage.

Upon returning things proceed, there are a few bumps along the way. Both learn more about the other as a closer relationship builds. Which leads to the happy ending they both deserve. Stealing Kisses with a King is a fun story, if you enjoy royal love stories this book is for you.

This is the first book that I've read from Sylvie Stewart so I didn't know what to expect from her, but surprisingly, I enjoyed this book very much.

First of all, this book is pretty hilarious for me and it kinda reminds me of the K-Drama What's Wrong With Secretary Kim? Also, when we talk about the characters, I truly adore both of them especially Alice and Malcolm. In this book, Alice is such a sophisticated woman and very mature because not only that she knows how to handle her job excellently, but she also knows her boundaries which lead her to resign herself from her position because of her feelings. Whereas for Malcolm, he's extremely charming and truly cares for others even tho he can be oblivious in some parts of the book 😂 Also, when we talk about their relationship, we can see that they have an absolute chemistry and connection even before they started to become something more which make this book much more enjoyable.

Overall I have to say that this book is pretty cute and sweet for me especially since royal romance is one of my favourite tropes ❤️ Therefore, I can't wait to read more by Sylvie Stewart 💞

This is book three in The King's of Carolina Series and it is Malcolm and Alice's story and wow what a story it is. Malcolm's coronation was in three weeks and he was so stressed and the only person who can calm him is Alice who used to be his assistant but she has left and took his calmness with her and now he needs it back so he is going to do everything that is possible to get Alice back at his side. Alice left Malcolm as she couldn't stay there any longer as she was in love with him and she knew he would be King soon and he was also a lady's man and didn't do commitment but what she wasn't expecting is for Malcolm to track her down and persuade her to come back to help him till his coronation. Alice and Malcolm were brilliant characters with hot chemistry and connection and they were so funny at times that you find yourself laughing. Sylvie Stewart is a brilliant author and writer and I definitely recommend that you read this book and others by her and you will definitely not be disappointed.

I loved this book ..Malcolm and Alice finally get a book and what a book it is !

Alice, who feels she has one sided feelings for her boss ... Malcolm , who just misses Alice ...

I laughed a lot during this book.. I thought Malcolm was a little clueless at times.. but Alice wanting to be professional resigns and moves back home .. and Malcolm needs her, he just thinks it’s because no one works like her.. their chemistry and banter is so captivatingly charming and definitely swoon worthy at times.. Malcolm is kind of adorable at times.. he has a huge heart.

I really hope y’all enjoy this romcom and much as I did..

I recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of royal reads and swoon worthy romances

Sylvie Stewart has been on my TBR list for awhile now, and I am glad I finally jumped in to read one of her books.

I was drawn in by the blurb and Alice and Malcolm's story was sweet, funny, and entertaining. Malcolm grows a lot and it was nice to see his and Alice's relationship evolve. Alice was a great heroine and I could totally understand her feelings/frustrations with Malcolm.

Even though I hadn't read the first two books in the series I wasn't didn't feel like I was missing anything. I am looking forward to going back and reading them too!

Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.

Title: Stealing Kisses with a King
Author: Sylvie Stewart

Review:
This was such a great book!

Alice. There were times you wanted to shaken some sense into her, but for the most part her character grew into themselves very well by the end.

Malcolm. I also wanted to shake this character a lot and maybe a slap on occasion. He definitely had no filter, but he grew in me by the end. He also had great character development.

Alice & Malcolm. Geeze talk about needing someone to spell it out sometimes. It makes me laugh to read a good story where one is so oblivious to a match right in front of them.

I highly recommend this book! It’s a good down to earth, feel good read.

The third book in the series brings Alice and Malcolm's story . Alice is the fixer of all Malcolm's shenanigans but quits to save herself some heartache, being she's in secretly in love with him. Malcolm is lost without her and needs her to get him through to his coronation as King. The author does a great job developing their story and bringing them together. She takes you on an emotional journey watching theses opposites connecting and coming together. There's tons of laughter and love and I enjoyed reading their story.

Wow!!! I loved this book so much and it came as a shock. This is my second book from Sylvie Stewart and its sooooooo good!! THIS is what you're looking for in a rom com-- hilarious royals, hijinks and just overall lighthearted comedy. Prince Malcom is a player and Alice is the wonderful assistant who is in love with him. However, his antics made her quit and move across the ocean and Prince Malcom is desperate to get her back. Prince Malcom & Alice = Perfection.

This is a story with a lot of dialogue and energy from the first page. The characters use British vernacular so being an American it has that European flavor many of us enjoy.

Prince Malcom is on the fast track to coronation but isn’t quite ready commitment-wise and maturity -wise. Alice, his Uber-efficient PA left him for reasons unknown to him, and he’s lost without her and decides a way to get her back to his country.

The story continues with Alice and Malcom trying to come to terms independently with how they feel about each other. Each not only has problems trusting people, but they also do things for good reasons that make them seem untrustworthy.

Prince Malcom coming into his own as a leader is a part of the story that sticks most with me because of how Alice responds in the times that test him in his country.

This is a book that might be too energetic to read right before a nap, but you will enjoy it.

I'm very new to the Sylvie Stewart world but what I've read by her has been entertaining. Alice is the assistant to Prince Malcolm, but when she started catching feelings, she left her position because she's very responsible like that and I loved her. Malcolm kind of came off selfish when he wasn't making me laugh with all of his pitiful behavior after she left (He is spoiled royalty) and he truly doesn't realize why it bothers him so much. He decides to come to her to try & bribe her to come back with him, so let the entertaining games begin. Stealing Kisses With a King was a fun read that kept me laughing, and by the time I devoured it, I had the biggest smile. I'm going to go back & read the previous books in this series because now I'm fully in. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This book brings us Alice and Malcolm. Malcolm is a prince, first in line for the King as his father is no longer able to reign. Alice was/is his assistant, and when she leaves, he doesn't know what to do. There is just something about Alice that he can't get out of his mind. Alice, loves Malcolm, but she doesn't think he even know she exists other than being his assistant. When Malcolm asks Alice to come back, she reluctantly does so, and the closer the time comes for Malcom's coronation, Malcolm is beginning to realize that Alice is more than his assistant. This is a good read. I did receive an arc for an honest review.

I received an ARC for review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Malcom is a freaking riot. OMG. He cannot handle being without Alice for nothing.

Alice new she had to resign from her position with Malcolm as her feelings were getting too strong to ignore.

The chemistry these two have is bonkers. They belong together and balance one another out perfectly.

This book was hilarious and something I needed to read with everything going on. Sometimes you just need a good laugh and Sylvie Stewart nailed it.

Malcolm and Alice don't seem as if they would ever be a match. In reality she is his perfect match. The balance he needs to be the king he is meant to be.

Alice is definitely someone you a rooting for to get Mals head out. Mal does some serious growing up and puts in the effort to win over Alice. It’s great to see Leo and Ruby again and a glimpse into their life. Pick this up you will be glad you did!

I feel like I’ve been wanting Mal and Alice’s story FOREVER... and boy, oh, boy was it worth the wait! Sylvie Stewart does such a wonderful job of bringing each character to life and being true to their individual unique personalities. They are always so relatable, even when royalty. There were moments where I was worried, especially that Malcolm would muck everything up! I laughed, I cried and I loved the little bits in there of hints for future books... huh, yeah, Nolan... a Princess... hmmmmm...

7 Stars if only it’d let me rate it properly!

Stealing Kisses With a King is a beautifully written royal rom-com story that will have you entertained, smiling, laughing out loud, swooning, feeling frustrated at times, and have you truly rooting for Mal and Alice. These two have had a connection and chemistry since meeting however have fought it from the beginning. Their journey to a HEA while a slow burn riddled with sweet, hilarious, cute, and angsty moments, is worth it to reach the beautiful ending.
This is a first Sylvie Stewart book for me and definitely won't be my last!!!

Yuuuuuus!
I’ve been hanging out for this book for what feels like forever! And, Sylvie didn’t disappoint.
She blended humour, swoon, and heart to give us an addicting and enjoyable read.

Alice.... I want to be her when I grow up. She is fabulous.
Mal grew on me (after reading the first two books in the series he wasn’t my favourite person) and by the end I was totally swooning.

Narration was a bit patchy in places but overall a good listen.

This book was just a fun fun read.

Stealing Kisses with a King is the next installment of Ms. Stewart’s King’s of Carolina series. This is Malcom and Alice’s story. Their rom com romance can absolutely be read as a stand alone. Leo, Ruby, Malcom and Alice do an excellent job of filling the reader in on what has come to pass to bring us up to current day in their world’s.

Malcom is a prince about to become a king. The elder of a set of twins, Malcom is bequeathed the honor of the throne in order for his physically ailing father to retire.

Malcom is not quite on board with this bit of reality.

Added to his upcoming wall of harsh reality, his long time assistant has just up and quit. Disappearing into the world without a goodbye or a trace. Well, sort of. A few people in the castle know where she went, however they aren’t sharing.

The breaking point comes when Malcom freezes at a public speaking engagement. He becomes singularly focused on locating Alice as obviously only she can solve whatever is plaguing him.

Alice has run and created a nice new life for herself in North Carolina. Far from Feldlands where Malcom, his self centeredness, and his impending coronation are. The only thing she wasn’t able to leave in the Feldlands was her horrifying crush on the Man-baby.

Alice is stubbornly dogging in to her new life with a purpose and a mission. She’s working hard to help her boss to save the American branch of Triumph eyewear. If only her perfect spokesman hadn’t gone on a racist rant captured by paparazzi while wearing his Triumph sunnies.

Malcom appears in Alice’s life at this perfect time rendering her speechless in his underhanded castle spy tactics to locate her and his outrageous promise to her boss that HE will be the new face of the Triumph line. Knowing royal law as well as she does (Alice adores details. All of them. They calm her) she knows that Malcom can in no way live up to this promise. As such, Alice must return with Malcom to the Feldlands, train her replacement, and save the world. Not really that last bit though. Just saving Triumph.

Our story arc takes through castle gossip, sibling concern, assistant jealousy, and a man child growing up into a man. Oh! And a Queen Mum who can scare even the most frivolous of souls into seriousness.

Malcom and Alice’s romance builds even as they both unknowingly trek down a coming of age of sorts. Malcom realizes that he is too self centered and turns his not so flighty intelligence towards making Alice happy. What begins as an exploratory excursion to determine who would be a good suitor, Malcom instead finds himself admitting he’s loved her for a long time.

Alice in turn takes a girl’s afternoon out into a day drinking adventure which leads to the world’s best drunken seduction scene. Sadly for all of us, Malcom really DOES have a working heart and conscience which means Wine Drunk Day Drinking Alice goes to bed and only wakes up with her hangover.

A strong story line is cleverly hidden in off the cuff one liners, sibling interactions, not so unintentional actions from a king to be, fatherly advice from the current king, and plain speaking North Carolina family.

Malcom AND Alice both grow in this story. Malcom into the leader that everyone knew he could be, and Alice from the appearance of a perfectly out together adult, to a functioning and real adult.

This book had all the things I love in a light heartedly presented read. Interesting and intriguing characters who hide their depth. A heavier storyline than expected as the core of comedy and light heartedness, and a beautifully rich world with strong character dialogue.

I’m really hoping Princess Clara eventually receives her own story. Or Sadie. She’s been cagey lately....
