The murder appears to have been popular with “the leaders of a religious group”: “The suspect was then joined by the leaders of a religious group, all of whom raised slogans and addressed supporters from the rooftop of the Quaidabad Police Station.”
However, “a maternal uncle of the deceased manager stated that the security guard had shot dead Hanif due to a personal issue. He denied the suspect’s claim that Hanif had insulted any prophet, saying they were Muslims and not Ahmadis.”
Oh, well, then! Aside from the dig at Ahmadis, unc has a point: “blasphemy laws are often misused to persecute minorities or even against Muslims to settle personal rivalries.”
Indeed. They are often used to victimize Christians and other religious minorities. They are, in fact, a human rights abuse of monstrous proportions. However, because they’re rooted in Sharia, the international media pays these abuses no notice.
“Bank manager shot dead by security guard allegedly over blasphemy in Punjab’s Khushab,” by Imran Gabol and Sajjad Abbas Niazi, Dawn, November 5, 2020 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):
A bank manager was shot dead by its security guard allegedly over blasphemy allegations in Punjab’s Khushab district on Wednesday, police and relatives said.
Malik Imran Hanif, the manager of the National Bank of Pakistan branch in Quaidabad tehsil of Khushab, was shifted to a local hospital after he was shot by the guard from a rifle. Due to his critical injuries, he was taken to Lahore where he succumbed to his wounds at the Services Hospital.
Khushab District Police Officer (DPO) retired Capt Tariq Wilayat told Dawn it would be premature to comment on the motive behind the murder, but confirmed that the security guard, who was arrested after the incident, had claimed to have killed Hanif over blasphemy.
In a video of the suspect that was shared on social media, the guard could be heard saying that the deceased manager had “insulted the prophet”….
Speaking to Dawn, police sources also expressed doubt over the guard’s claim that he had killed the manager over blasphemy. They suggested that the guard had committed the murder due to personal grievances….
Videos shared on Twitter showed the guard being greeted by a crowd of supporters after killing the manager. The security guard and the mob then raised slogans as they walked on the street.
The suspect was then joined by the leaders of a religious group, all of whom raised slogans and addressed supporters from the rooftop of the Quaidabad Police Station. Police personnel could be seen standing nearby recording videos.
In another video, a maternal uncle of the deceased manager stated that the security guard had shot dead Hanif due to a personal issue. He denied the suspect’s claim that Hanif had insulted any prophet, saying they were Muslims and not Ahmadis. He demanded that the murder be investigated on merit and the suspect be brought to justice.
Human rights groups say blasphemy laws are often misused to persecute minorities or even against Muslims to settle personal rivalries. Such accusations can end up in lynchings or street vigilantism.
Up to 80 people are known to be imprisoned in the country on such charges — half of whom face life in prison or the death penalty — according to the US Commission on International Religious Freedom….

A fervent Muslim cannot serve two masters – is that the lesson learned here?(other than don’t hire Muslims as guards)
Life in an Islamic nation has the characteristics of a Cult: Religion first, life dedicated to the “cause”, extraction of wealth and timed rituals adquate to keep the powerless poor, dependence, complete intolerance of any criticism, separation from unbelievers even if family members, and the persecution of former members.
Islam goes beyond cult, allowing any Muslim vigilante to kill apostates and those who insult the “prophet”. Prohibiting religious murder boils down to the fear of civil law penalties which appear to have no teeth where Sharia prevails.
mortimer says
When all-out Muslims have no kafirs to kill, they kill half-hearted Muslims.
Islam is a true DEATH CULT, so no one is ‘safe’ from it … even the most serious Muslim may fall short of a difference of religious opinion and thus be considered worthy of execution.
Thus, even pious Muslims cannot trust their fellow pious Muslims not to turn against them.

Islam is viewed by some people like a competitive sport.
mortimer says
This killing of a ‘blasphemer’ by a private Muslims WITHOUT HAVING A FATWA is obviously NORMATIVE ISLAM … in spite of the lies of Muslim propagandists to the contrary.
Sharia law requires the assassination of a blasphemer. There is NO PUNISHMENT for the assassin of a blasphemer in Sharia law.

As Mo died 1400 years ago, he can’t be insulted no mo.

Keith O says
Islam in Pakistan is almost like some twisted episode of the old TV show “the twilight zone” where everything that would be considered sane and normal in a civilised world is upside down.
Then you realise that everything that Mudslimes believe in stems from a very superstitious phase of human history. One that the rest of humanity managed to, at great cost, move away from.
Islam stayed routed in the barbarous methods and beliefs that were in vogue 100 years ago. Hell, even the Vatican managed to progress to some point. IE they stopped burning women because they were good looking enough to give a priest a boner, therefore they must be a witch. Or the woman used herbal medicine.
Some Islamist’s still believe the earth is flat! and that Mo had a flying carpet, or was that a flying donkey? Anyway they are still living with a 1400 year old primitive, barbaric, mindset that the rest of humanity has out grown.
Linde Barrera says
To Keith O- And for all we know, the deceased bank manager might have said “I don’t like Muhammed” referring to a human contemporary that both he and the killer guard knew. But then the killer guard became confused (lots of mental problems in Pakistan due to first-cousin inbreeding) and erroneously thought the bank manager was referring to the so-called “prophet“ Muhammed.
What I just described could be the case. But we will probably never know.
Paul says
Everybody should study the teachings of islam honestly and come their own conclusion as to its true nature.
Since we have so much violence associated with muslims commited in the name of islam, we should have a govt-backed comission of inquiry and take the necessary action based on the findings.

Those Bahais, going on about their Prophet again ! I bet if Muslims tried this, they wouldn’t be tolerated. Nor would Jews.

James, it is true that Baha’is regularly whitewash Islam, but I’m not sure how this is salient here.

Pakistan: Muslim security guard shoots bank manager to death because he ‘insulted the prophet’
However, “a maternal uncle of the deceased manager stated that the security guard had shot dead Hanif due to a personal issue. He denied the suspect’s claim that Hanif had insulted any prophet, saying they were Muslims and not Ahmadis.”
……………………
It is actually *quite* common for Muslims to accuse others of “blasphemy” when they either have a grudge against someone or else want something that they have–land, mioney, marriageble daughters. And note this bit about Ahmadis–minority-sect Ahmadis are oppressed and often murdered by orthodox Muslims.

This is the reason I question why our politicians give our hard earned tax dollars to the foreign countries. We spend billions on building infrastructure for other countries while ours deteriorate and our people are unemployed. Why give money to countries that hate us and want to murder us, along with terrible human rights violations. The only Americans that are gaining from foreign aid seem to be our politicians.
