The Decoy by S.E. Rose was a light and fun read with an enjoyable storyline. Regan, Zach, Grant and Harrison were interesting characters who got into some crazy situations while trying to stop a family wedding from happening. There were some funny moments involving the other guests at the wedding as the four of them tried to put their plan into motion.

Regan was a great character and I enjoyed reading her interactions with both Zach and Grant. She was so down to earth and loyal, and I was rooting for her to find someone for herself. I liked that there was substance to the story and it wasn't just straight out slapstick comedy. The mystery behind the inheritance added a layer of interest for me. While this book was on the shorter side, the storyline flowed well and the intimate moments were evenly balanced with the humorous ones. There was tons of drama but thankfully none of it came in the form of OW/OM. The ending wrapped things up in a satisfactory way for everyone involved, though I was sad to see the trip to Mexico come to an end. I overall enjoyed this book and recommend it to anyone looking for a light and funny read.

Amazingly hilarious

Once again, SE Rose did NOT disappoint!! I loved everything about this hilarious story. Reagan and Zach meet at a destination wedding and the last thing they expected to find was each other. Their very first meeting is hysterical. I also adored Grant and Harrison who both made it even funnier.

Can’t wait to see what’s next from this author!

"It is going to be one long evening of drinking."

It was a very badly written book. Mostly about people drinking and then drinking some more. In Mexico. But it could have been anywhere else. They complained about the heat, saw some monkeys and exotic fish. That's it. The romance was unconvincing and silly, the intrigue was not even remotely interesting. And worst of all: it wasn't funny. I didn't laugh even once. Simply horrible!

A cute and funny light-hearted read. I enjoy the little bit of intrigue as the group tried to unravel the mystery behind Lee and Maggie's upcoming wedding. Great characters that I would not mind seeing again in the future. The premise of the storyline was cute. I really liked the character Reagan. She was real (eye roll and all) and thought she was perfect for Zach.

My only frustration with this book was the ending. The whole story revolved around the wedding but not much focus was placed on the future for these two characters. It gave a happily for now ending but that felt rushed compared to the details in the rest of the book.

Holy Wedding Disaster! The Decoy is exactly what was promised. A story full of scandal and disaster. This book does have romance, but it also has mystery. Take a gander inside and see if you can figure out what is going on.
What happens when your best friend asks you do them a solid and play the decoy girlfriend at a family wedding? Well if you are a good best friend, you say to heck with it and jump on the plane. What they don’t expect is the secrets and scandal that will follow. Or the fact that they might just meet someone who will make their heart race and palms sweat. Welcome to Mexico!
Reagan is such a great character. It is obvious that she is a very caring and empathetic person. Even more, she is also a regular person even thought looking at her on paper you would expect the opposite. I loved how funny and strong she is. Then you have Zach. He is smart, attractive, and not at all comfortable with his place in this group. One thing that you can say about him, though, he is a very loyal person. That is the best thing about him.
Oh my heat. There is just something about a book when the plot starts with a fake anything. You just know the chemistry is going to be off the charts. Add in two very attractive characters with a common goal and well I would be surprised if the sheets weren’t on fire. I really enjoyed the heat aspect.
The writing style in this book is good. The story has a steady pace. The story is told from a dual point of view. The characters are dynamic and make you love them. I really loved the minor characters. There is one character in particular that I hope gets their own book. He deserves it.
Overall, I loved this story. All the secrets, scandal, and drama was perfect for me. I really liked the detective aspect of the book that made me want to find out what was going on more than the characters. I would recommend this book to others for sure.

This light and fun read will keep you guessing as to what wild thing will happen next. Its got it all! A destination wedding, a decoy relationship, the matriarch of the family lovingly called "gramma satan" and some unexpected romance between wedding guests. Regan is a loyal down to earth woman who would do anything her best friend Grant asked her to do. Even if it means flying to Mexico for his cousins wedding last minute. Grants cousin Lee is getting married and he needs a girlfriend to hide the fact that he's gay from gramma who disapproves of everything from same sex marriages to interracial relationships no matter who it is. She will disinherit you! So every so often Regan lovingly poses as Grants on again off again girlfriend to get him through his family obligations. This time however things don't go as smoothly as they would like. Enter in Zach and Harrison. Both of them are wedding guests there for the same wedding of their friend Lee (Grants cousin). Attraction occurs except its not with who Regan and Grant are supposed to be with. What starts out as a vacation fling once everyone gets on the same page with who's available and who isn't leaves both Regan and Zach with catching some very real feelings. On top of this they have uncovered the fact that the bride is trying to marry Lee for less than noble reasons and decide to put a stop to this wedding and expose her for who she is. The two couples of Grant and Harrison and Regan and Zach team up and hilarity, steam and love ensue. Once you start this book you won't be able to stop! S.E. Rose will easily become an author you won't be able to get enough of!

A•R•C ~ I was given The Decoy by S.E. Rose as an Advanced Readers Copy (A•R•C) from Give Me Book Promotions. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.

5 out of 5 Stars ☆☆☆☆☆ Loved this book!

S.E. Rose has written an amazing romantic comedy with The Decoy. Reagan and Zach are perfect and so are Grant & Harrison. The four characters make the entire book so funny I was crying I was laughing so hard.

Reagan is Grant’s Decoy” since Grant’s family would cut his inheritance if they found out he was gay, just like they did his sister Beth when she married an African-American Doctor, all thanks to Eunice or Grandma Satan as Reagan calls her. A horrible old woman who is just awful to everyone around her, she want’s complete control over her family in everything and interracial marriage and same sex relationships are things she will not tolerate she would kick you out of your rightful inheritance, one-word, WITCH with a capital B-I-T-C-H!

The story was amazing and so funny again I laughed out loud many times during my reading of this book, still have a smile on my face and it’s been hours since I finished the book.

Thank you for the pick-me up with your literary humor!

This book had it all: comedy, some mystery and intrigue, vacation flings, coming out...everything! Reagan never thought that playing the decoy for her best friend would end in so much drama, handcuffs (not for her, mind you), and a fling-hoping-for-more. She helps her best friend, newfound friends, and fling figure out just WHY the wedding they’re all in a hot, humid, alcohol-laden beach paradise seems so fishy, but none of them EVER expected it all to turn out as it did!

Zach, Reagan’s fling and friend to the groom, isn’t really looking for more, but after meeting Reagan in a very awkward (for her) way, he can’t keep her off his mind. He gets lucky when he learns that she and Grant aren’t really together and swoops in for some vacation fun, which quickly turns into real feelings for a woman he never expected to find.

There is a little bit of OTT drama (and many laughs for me) in this read, but it meshes well with the whole plot and brings some serious amusement with it, so this book is definitely worth a read!

This book is fabulous. The story is fresh, lively and full of laughter, hotness and drama. I simply couldn’t put it down. The writing is wonderful and dragged me right into the middle of their lives. I think I’m in love with all of these men, their characters just jump out of the pages.

I love the main characters, Grant, Zack, Reagan and Harrison. I really liked the friendship between Reagan and Grant, these two will do anything for each other. Reagan is Grant’s ‘decoy ‘ as in she’s pretending to be in a relationship with him. I also thought the friendship between the four men; including the groom, Lee, who were all Frat brothers in college, was fantastic.

There are lots of characters in this book and I was a bit overwhelmed to start with, I soon got to grips with the most important ones though. There is a helpful list of characters and their relationships in the back of the book.

This is my first book by S E Rose and I’m a new fan, I hope we get the stories of all of the main players in the future, I’m definitely invested in their lives.

This book is nothing short but amazing. S.E Rose has suspense and romance all in 1.
Grant and Reagan are BFF’s. They go together to Mexico for his cousins wedding. They pretend to be in an on again off again relationship. Grant does not want to come out to his family that he’s gay.
While on Mexico, Reagan meets Zach, and she’s very interested in him. Grant meet Harrison and they are attracted to each other. Them as a group as 1 mission, break up Grants cousins, Lee’s wedding. They had to prove that his fiancée was a good digger. And it took up to an hour before to prove to Lee was his fiancée Maggie was up
to, along with his grandmother.
After breaking up the wedding they try and enjoy the rest of their time in Mexico. They all parted ways to return to their normal lives, with knowing that they would see each other in Vegas in a couple of weeks.
When in Vegas, Zack asked Reagan if she would start dating him. Both could think of nothing but each other since they left Mexico.
A great read, highly recommend

The Decoy

This book has it all - steam, laughs, mystery, a destination wedding, best friends. The main characters, Grant, Reagan, Harrison and Zach are all amazing. Grant gets his bestie to be his plus one at his cousins wedding in Mexico. Harrison and Zach are part of the wedding party, as they are fraternity brothers of the groom. Soon there are two new romances blooming, and not with who you might think. Then Grandma Satan is pressuring her grandsons to sign new paperwork about their trust funds, but is it as straight forward as she makes it sound? Oh and the above foursome find out the bride is marrying the groom for all reasons other than love. Will they successfully keep the groom from making this major mistake? Read on to find out!! Oh and the chemistry between one of the new couples (well actually both) is off the charts from the time they meet. I enjoyed the dual point of views of the book....and would love to read more about all of these main characters.

Very cute

Very funny romcom. Our fabulous four is comprised of Grant, cousin to Lee, and his decoy partner and best friend, Reagan, who has brains as well as beauty; Harrison and Zach are college classmates of Lee the groom. These four find themselves in adjacent suites at the resort where the wedding is being held.
Grant, Harrison and Lee are all mega rich and think nothing of hopping their private jet to wherever they want to go whereas Reagan and Zach are from wealthy backgrounds but not in the same class. Neither Harrison nor Zach like the bride, Maggie and think that Lee is making a big mistake. Grant and Reagan soon join their ranks especially when they realise how unsuited the pair are and that Maggie is in it for money! But that doesn’t make sense because she’s also from the same mega wealthy strata.
Then there’s Grant and Lee’s Grandma Satan, as Reagan calls her. The whole thing raises questions while causing our fabulous four to keep falling into one comic mess after another.

Its all about excess and repetition

Too many eye rolls (the author even repeats it herself), too much heat (exaggerated to no end), they are all drunkards and main female character must suffer from narcolepsy (she's asleep or falling asleep most of the time).

Besides the fact that Reagan's the most unnatural klutz, she drinks like the desert as if its routine.
She's so frail that she keeps on getting either sick, asleep or drunk every two seconds.
Apparently, she can come from a touch, so you know...yay....

Zack, is a mother hen, always there to protect her at all costs but with a side of alpha to make sure he is macho enough (as if the body builer description wasn't enough). Oh and let's not forget, he is great in bed...

It is supposed to be a laugh-out-loud romance but not once did I actually laugh. And it actually made me cringe when it described the characters were belly laughing about what was said when it didn't grant that.

The mystery story behind it is actually quite fascinating and was the sole reason I finished the book.

It 's a fun romance with an enjoyable and compelling storyline that keeps you glued to the pages.

Grant and Regan have always been friends: he is gay and she is recently single. Grant's grandmother is an austere, overbearing and very conservative woman, if she discovered Grant's secret she would remove him from her will. So he asks Regan to be his decoy at his cousin's wedding. Here they meet Zach and Harrison and immediately get in tune. Together they will try to prevent the marriage and shed light on their feelings.

All the characters are lovely. Grant is a very good boy just a little spoiled. Regan is generous, loyal, funny and very true. Zach is really charming and protective, the ideal man.

The plot is flowing and engaging, alternates perfectly romantic and passionate scenes with very funny and humorous ones and there is also a mystery to be solved.

It is perfect as a beach reading, if you are looking for a light but engaging and funny reading this romance is ideal.

The Decoy is a book that needs to be picked up. If you love family drama, best friends that do anything for each other and out right laughing out loud then this one is for you. I love Grant, Harrison, Zach and Reagan so much. They all click together so well. Grant and Reagan have this amazing friendship. I love how she doesn't mind so much stepping in and playing the decoy when he needs her for family events. The chemistry between Grant and Harrison is amazing. My heart was so happy for them. It was even filled with more love when it came down to Zach and Reagan. They are so hot together. Not only do you find yourself fanning yourself throughout this read but you will be laughing out loud. When these four are together you are going to have a good time. You really must read this to find out all the family drama that unfolds. A perfect one click read for any day ending in y.

S.E. Rose delivers a book that is jam packed with everything from hilarity and steam to drama and mystery with The Decoy. This entire book is like a nonstop adventure! A super fun nonstop adventure full of swoon if we’re getting specific. I was going from dying of laughter to a puddle of swoony mush then straight to “OMG! NO THEY DID NOT!” and back again from start to finish while reading this.
Reagan has been her best friend’s long term decoy when it comes to his family. For years she’s played the part of girlfriend so he doesn’t lose his inheritance, but all that begins to crumble at the wedding of her best friend’s cousin. With the immediate attraction between her and a groomsman Zach and a tangled mess of secrets that need to be unraveled there’s an endless amount of hilarious shenanigans and stolen steamy moments with these two.

The Decoy by SE Rose is a lighthearted and fun read. It is full of scandal and clumsiness and laughter.

I just loved Reagan and Zach. They were so cute together, and I just loved Reagan's attitude and Zach's sweet alphaness. They were just so awesome!

I loved the story! It was so lighthearted and easy to read, and I was just so addicted! It was also so original, and funny as well. I couldn't stop myself from laughing.

Oh and Grant and Harrison were sooo cute, and funny! I just loved them as a duo, and I loved Grant and Reagan as a duo too! I loved everybody (with the exception of a few). I just loved them all.

The Decoy is a great and funny read. If you're in the need of a read to put a smile on your face, and laugh into oblivion, then this is the perfect book for you!

Not your "typical" romance but a really good read that will have you hooked right from the start. Zach is gay, but when he has to attend a family wedding he needs to keep up appearances that he is in a heterosexual relationship - in come Reagan his best friend who has played this role before. They haven't been at the destination wedding for long when sparks begin to fly with 2 other guests and the groom's best fraternity friends of old Grant and Harrison. What goes on from here can best be described as both a comedy and a mystery - Reagan wants Grant, Zach wants Harrison, a pregnant bride or is she? A grandmother who holds the purse strings, rules the family with an iron rod yet she's clearly up to something. Thoroughly enjoyed this.

I adore this story😉

This story was a breath of fresh air! It's about young love. First we meet Reagan and Grant. They are best friends. Reagan is beautiful, smart, funny, sweet, and dedicated. Grant is awesome. Reagan is going to a destination wedding with her best friend Grant as his pretend girlfriend. She had me laughing with her and her shenanigans. Zach and Harrison is also attending the wedding where they meet Reagan and Grant. Zach is sweet, protective, funny, smart, and caring. Harrison is a hoot. When all them get together you know it's going to be epic! The writing was done beautifully. Every word pulls you in. This is my first time reading from this author which was great. Great freaking work S.E. Rose!

This book was exactly what I needed and hoped for! Great job S.E. Rose! Hilarious, steamy, and so fun that I had a few laugh-out-loud moments that made my hubs and kids look at me from across the room! Reagan agrees to be the fake girlfriend of her best friend, Grant for a family wedding.

Zach and Harrison are best friends with the Groom and are looking to have a fun-filled week on the beach! Little did they know the four of them were going to plot to save the groom, drink way too much, and maybe even fall in love. It was a fantastic read on these cold winter nights! I definitely recommend this one if you are looking for instalove, hilarious moments, and a happy ending! @theoriginialmrsp

This book is a hook, line and sinker book! It hooks you by the title, you read all the lines and you sink into the story and never want to come out. I was lucky enough to receive an ARC and as always this book did not disappoint. Raegan and Zach have such a strong chemistry that you you can feel in it your soul. I wanted cry for the family but I loved it and when I came to the end was hoping that there would be more. I want a love story on Grant and Harrison and more on Zach and Raegan. SERose did a fantastic work.

This is a delightful little story about a true wedding disaster which contains a little scandal, a little drama, and a little romance. Excellent balance. Reagan Monroe has grown accustomed to standing in as her friend Grant’s decoy at family affairs, but this one turns out a little bit differently. Zach is on a guy’s trip to the wedding of one of his frat brothers. The attraction is I stand, and you get the added bonus of a little mystery and a fair amount of drama. Great, easy read.

Sooo much fun

Grant is a lovable ass and Zach is just yummy. Then you have Harrison and Reagan are just treasures. Together they are just so much fun and I just adored this story and man did not see the drama that unfolded, although I do want more and can’t wait for Aggie’s story.

My only complaint is that there was some continuity issues that need a once over because it would take me out of the story and I would have to find my way back.

Overall, this is a fun story and worth a read.

Just ok.
I wanted to love this book. I think the premise is great. Best friends Reagan and Grant go to Grant' s cousin's destination wedding. Grant is gay, but he needs Reagan to pretend they are together to appease his tyrannical grandmother who holds the family purse strings.

All the great storyline details uncovering the scheming bride's plans get lost in a haze of binge drinking and an excessive amount of eye rolling. I honestly don't know how these people have functioning livers after this trip.

There are multiple steamy love scenes and the f-bomb is used frequently.

Really enjoyed the twists and turns of this new book by a new to me author! Great premise, wonderful meet-cute, loved Reagan and Zac's dynamic from the start. Their chemistry was hot. Grant was the perfect comic relief on their drunken adventures. I loved the thrill of figuring out the mysteries behind the scenes of Reagan and Zac's love story. I hope we hear more about their HEA in future books.

I love this destination wedding story. It's got everything. Bridezilla, suspense, grandma-satan, wedding fling. Zach and Reagan are so good together. I love how this story has a happy for now ending. I love how things worked out even with Reagan being a decoy and Zach having a few insecurities and maybe being a little bit of a snob toward the filthy rich.

I can't wait to read more by S.E. Rose!!!
