How many migrants in Sweden would agree with this interpreter? No one knows, because no one dares investigate. But before too long, the answer will be clear to everyone.
“Interpreters are accused of serious errors – reports are dropped when word for word,” translated from “Tolkar anklagas för allvarliga fel – anmälningar läggs ned när ord står mot ord,” SVT Nyheter, December 25, 2020:
A bad interpretation can sabotage a trial or an asylum case. Nevertheless, there are major shortcomings in the interpreting industry, SVT’s review shows. In the state’s supervision of the authorized interpreters, many cases are closed when the interpretation is word for word. And an interpreter who does not have authorization can get new assignments – also from authorities.
In Sweden, there are authorized and non-authorized interpreters. The authorized persons must undergo tests and are under the supervision of the State Chamber of Deputies, which can issue warnings or withdraw the authorization. SVT’s review shows that this is very unusual.
– It is very serious that society does not react when there are shortcomings, says Sait Umdi, lawyer.
Serious errors are required for a withdrawal. In one case: several frauds. In another: that the interpreter urged an asylum seeker not to tarnish Islam….

Anecdotal but completely believable. If English is one’s native language then it’s likely that it’s also one’s only language. Aware of this an interpreter might say almost anything, even the truth.
Dave R says
Correction: this happened in a country where being multi lingual is not uncommon, with English being the most spoken foreign tongue. Islamic terrorist speech is multi lingual in the same way; mostly in English but also in French, Somali, Indo-European, Malay, Arabic, Arabic, Ukrainian, Hausa Swahili and many other African dialects.

Many native Swedes are indeed multi-lingual–but more likely in German and English than in Arabic or Urdu or something similar.

Gravenimage : Speaking of interpreters, I ( as a Canadian Christian guy myself originally from Iraq) have worked with the US army after the fall of Saddam’s bloody regime and I had the honour to serve with the US army as an interpreter and I told some American soldiers back then that they Should not trust Muslims blindly nor should they hire Iraqi Arab Muslims as interpreters because they would betray the Americans as they betrayed Iraqi Christians after taking Islam seriously and they even stabbed their long-time Christian neighbours especially in Baghdad & Mosul and many did stabbed the Americans in the back by snitching on the American troops through texting their fellow Islamic terrorists about the whereabouts and the destinations of the American military convoys so that the Islamist terrorists would ambush the American military convoys and kill as many Americans as possible

Thank you, Lion heart–and especially thank you for warning American troops, I hope they took your warnings to heart.

Gravenimage: no worries man ! And thank you as well ! Actually some Americans took me seriously but they couldn’t do anything about it because they said they were only soldiers and are not in the position to hire or fire interpreters and that it’s hard to tell which is which regarding the loyal Muslim interpreters ! and I said “ yeah , you can’t tell which is which because they would practice Taqiyya ( permissible lying to nonMuslim according to Quran 3:28 )
gravenimage says
Lion heart, they still may have been more cautious because of your warnings. You may well have saved some lives. I am grateful.

Two points: 1) Islam has tarnished itself from its inception; and 2) The very fact that someone has to warn against tarnishing Islam, whether in Sweden or anywhere else, itself bespeaks volumes—don’t have to warn about this with any other religion, eh?
Thus affirming again the common sense and informed conclusion that: 1) Islam has been rotten from the outset; 2) It has nothing good in it which can’t be found elsewhere (anyone, prove me wrong—yes, what good exists in Islam that does not exist elsewhere?—and thus Mohammedanism is, at best, redundant; at worst, simply evil because of its many heinous dictates, such as death for apostasy and the sanctioning of rape); and 3) No one of sense and knowledge should pay any respect to this horrific excuse of a religion; it needs to be regularly criticized, exposed, ridiculed, denounced, never indulged and, hopefully, eventually existent only on the extreme margins of human society where the detritus of the human species exists.
The trash heap of history is where Islam belongs. Not there yet. Would relish living long enough to see it placed there. I would celebrate this “event” with good beer, BLTs, and Beethoven symphonies—only three of many joys in life that Islam not only prohibits but will harm you, courtesy of the most devout Muslims, if you dare try to enjoy them. Which points to yet another wrong of Islam, i.e., it is suffused with control-freakishness.
Oh yes indeed, Islam is a monster many times over. That is the way I see Islam—a monster. I always will.

Sweden: Interpreter tells migrant not to ‘tarnish Islam’
………………
This is not the first time we have heard Muslim interpreters enforcing the violent diktats of Islam, or also telling migrants illegal ways to duck questions.
Kepha says
Was the interpreter a native, ethnic Swede who’d picked up one or more languages of the Islamic world, or a recent immigrant from the Islamic world or someone born to recent immigrants? In either case, the interpreter might be well aware that the behavior of some asylum seekers had caused Islam and Muslims to stink in Swedish nostrils. If the former, there’s probably also the smug, sanctimonious attitude of the Western Leftist who thinks his “scientific” worldview makes him an expert on everything.
Either way, Uncle Kepha has some sympathy for the interpreters, having done some such work himself (albeit Chinese document translation and some oral work for lawyers dealing with asylum seekers [or gangsters?]). Even an immigrant native speaker who’s been away from the old country for a long enough time might not be up on current slang or euphemism. I also noticed that at a deposition where I assisted the plaintiff’s lawyer, the defendant’s interpreter was doing a bit of hand-holding with his side’s client. Needless to say, I let my client know.
gravenimage says
Kepha–with all respect–the idea that this might be a native Infidel Swede concerned about the threat of Islam seems *very* unlikely. More likely this is a Muslim immigrant chiding Muslims not to become too Westernized.

“Don’t **tarnish** islam”? That’s like saying don’t dirty up that slug slime.
Don’t get the corpse close to that puddle of adipocere. Don’t make that lard greasy.
islam is tarnish…it’s scummy dross; it’s the dregs of demonic thought.
But for Sweden to completely go islamic, there must be those who help it along the way by lies and corruption; by hiding the Truth, they aid and abet the terror that is coming.

As an ex-translator of English/French (for Banks and industry) I know how difficult it can be to translate even simple concepts from one language to another. To intentionally lie from one language to another is very easy as the examples in other letters display. As an example, try translating the word ‘ignorance’ from French to English, or vice versa; it’s the exact opposite.

Off topic here – I need a concrete example, a court case from SWEDEN where someone was sentenced for spreading/providing information that reflects negatively on immigrants and was convicted because he/she is not an academic and therefore unable to discuss the isseu in a sensible manner – or something like that. Really specific, I know. I do seem to remember a case like that. More generally, this involves a debate about whether it is in practice against the law to criticise immigration in Sweden; even more generally the claim that left-wingers always ultimately erode freedom of speech(!). Any and all help would be much appreciated!
