Fractured Things

Poe Halliday could have been everything, the one who taught me to dream again.

But a single night ended it all, and it was over as quickly as it began. The hope blooming in my heart poisoned by a dark truth spit from cruel and twisted lips.

A truth that stole my innocence.

My beginnings were stained by the ashy fingerprints of my mother’s demons—I refuse to let them ruin anything else. Terrifying shadows may haunt the town that holds our history, but my heart longs for him. I’m stronger than they know, and the only way I can escape this nightmare is to face it.

Stella Bradleigh shone like the brightest star, keeping my shadows at bay with only her smile.

I’ve been unknowingly living with the devil incarnate. The architect of a horrific scheme kept secret for too long.

A secret that made her run.

When she left, my world turned cold again. After basking in her warmth, I refuse to let it end this way. From the day she arrived I knew my heart belonged with hers, and she became a part of me. The darkness here is no match for the rage I harbor, and the only way I can protect her is to destroy it.

Ladies, you're in for a treat. Intense drama. A sketchy atmosphere that hides a whole ton of secrets. Two leads with absolute chemistry! Poe is a hottieeeeeeeeeee. Star is a badass! There were lots of twists and turns this time around. Lots of heartbreak. Get ready. That ending will leave you SHOOK. Can't wait for the next book!

Poe and Stella are finally back! And Fractured Things has the same magic as Fragile Things. Sexy, emotionally complex, suspenseful, and angsty- this story is every bit as full of twists and drama. But this story also has its own vibe- an insular focus that makes it even more emotionally resonant and makes the stakes feel higher- because Fractured Things is about fixing what is broken, and there is no one more broken by the revelations of book one than Stella.

After the jaw dropping ending of Fragile Things, I’ve been anxiously awaiting our next book to figure out how these characters can move forward from the life changing revelations and scarring violence. Stella, with the support of the best ride or die bestie ever in Sunday, has left Folkestone behind- not ready, or perhaps unwilling- to confront the horrific truths she learned about her family and the Heirs. Poe, meanwhile, is devastated and lost- he broke his own rules to love another, and now she’s gone. Can he find a way to repair Stella’s fractured heart? And what secrets yet remain in Folkstone?

Samantha really changed up what I expected from this story- in a way that I find really clever. Fragile Things moves at a frantic pace- the unraveling of secrets and the powder keg collisions of characters. Fragile Thing was about a cacophonous breaking of our characters. Fractured Things feels entirely different- because the catalyzing focus of this story isn’t about Stella figuring out the mystery of her background or adjusting to the elite and volatile world she finds herself in like in book 1- no, this is more about her existential reconciliation of all she learned. And Poe and others trying to repair the fractures in their relationships with Stella as the result of the depravity and secrets of the Heirs. Of course, there are still secrets and twists at every turn- just when Stella thinks she has all the information she inevitably finds out she doesn’t- but the plot is slower here, the secrets and twists more steadily meted, and the focus is more emotional: Stella’s journey to try to make sense of all she’s learned about her life and where that means she needs to be, all while trying to figure out what transgressions and mistakes are forgivable, and those that are not, for those she trusted and loved. That’s a quieter character journey, but one that is equally as captivating as book one. But that does give the story a different feel- because the focus is no longer on revelations (even though we still have them), the focus is on reparations.

This book made me fall even deeper in love with Poe. We get to see how much he’s changed, we get to see his sweet and tender heart, and we feel so much for him as he faces impossible decisions. This story softens him, gives him vulnerability. Whereas Stella, we get to see her emerge stronger, harder, more resilient and more empowered. She gets hurt, A LOT, and she spends a lot of this story in an emotional vornando, but she finds the right nexus of courage and kindness, and she finds her place. She finally belongs. But she has to learn to forgive, to trust- and Poe? Well he has to find a way to be worthy of both.

I said it before, and I’ll say it again- it still SHOCKS me that Samantha is a newer writer. Not only is she a technically accomplished writer- the prose is polished, engaging, and beautifully scribed- but she has created such a captivating world and characters. Characters who touch our hearts, whose stories pull at our emotions. A world about escaping the burdens of your past, of letting go of the pains and mistakes of your parents. A story about finding who YOU are...about belonging. Not only am I impressed, I am ADDICTED. I want to live in this world and with these characters forever.

Of course, just when we think things are all peachy, Samantha gives us a hint of what is to come. And I for one as SHOCKED but also overjoyed with the possibilities. I’m so ready for Restless Things- and our heroine?! Oh my- she’s going to steal the whole show.

FIVE FRACTURED STARS for Stella and Poe 💜🖤💜🖤!!!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This year I had the opportunity to discover a large number of new authors and I have to admit that most of the books thrilled me and I'm so happy that I gave a chance to the new hopes of the writing scene.

One of the mentioned new authors is Samantha Lovelock and her series "Folkestone Sins", which I found out about a little over two months ago and whose blurb interested me in the story itself.

After reading the first book "Fragile Things" in this series, I could hardly wait for the sequel because the cliffhanger left me speechless and I just had to know what would happen next in Stella and Poe’s lives.

Reading this and the previous book, I can say that I fell in love with Samantha’s writing style.

Her way of describing the characters and designing the plot is great!

So, I don’t expect anything less in her next books.

"Fractured Things" is a dark bully high school romance filled with secrets and unexpected twists that will nail you to the book and you won’t be able to separate yourself from it to the very end.

Stella is a female character who learned to take care of herself at a very early age and there is nothing tough for her to do to survive.

Poe is a male character who has only one intention through high school, and that is to enjoy life before taking on the job assigned to him by birth.

But his perspective and attitude start slowly changing when he meets Stella.

Stella and Poe’s connection is strong and palpable from the start!

It's everything!

But first, they have to go through many ups and downs before they finally get what they deserve.

If you're looking for a dark bully high school romance, then you should read this book next!!!

Highly recommended!!!

P.S. I can't wait to read Sunday's book "Restless Things" 😍😍😍!!!

“This is where you come from, Stella Evangeline Bradleigh. These people, this town, this is your home. For better or worse, Folkestone is where you belong” Cecily

In book one , we got to learn a little bit of Stella’s past... but we were left with a jaw dropping cliffhanger at the end.. it left me salivating for more.. I needed answers and Author Samatha Lovelock did not disappoint..

Weaving through the piles of crap Stella had dropped on her, it’s hard to believe that there’s more to be uncovered.. but Folkestone is just full of secrets and enough drama to fill a mini series .. while Poe, Sunday, Heller, Raff, and Payne are used to it... Stella is not and every bump makes her question if coming back was the right move.. How can you love someone who has secrets? How can you miss someone you’ve only just met?

Love is hard no matter the age but for Stella. She doesn’t have the happy childhood or the loving home.. maybe she had it for a while but she’s used to having to take care of herself and loving herself .. this book showed her struggles with learning how to forgive and who’s secrets were worth forgiving.. she has to decide which is more important .. can she forgive? Cause she’ll have to and there are a lot of people on that list.

And My poor Poe ... put in an impossible situation.. I can’t see how he could stand it all.. my heart broke for these two .. they took my heart on an emotional train ride .. and with Both POVs .. I got to see how it is they came to their choices..

It’s such an amazing series and I can’t wait for Sunday and Payne’s book.. I’m excited to see where book three takes us.. I am so in love with Poe..

This is the second book in the Folkestone Sins Series. It was an amazing read and It concluded Poe and Stella's story. You will most definitely have to read book #1, Fragile Things, to grasp the storyline and make sense of it all. Story is told in dual perspectives.

Samantha Lovelock is an author I discovered this year and I’m so glad I did. She writes with passion and pulls at your heartstrings all throughout. I’m so very glad I came across her series and she entrusted me with sending me an ARC for it.

If you need to read a new series and a new author you need to grab these two books. They will not disappoint you in the very least.

Whoa. I thought I was floored after the last book. Poe is just about perfect. And our FMC she is just amazing.

Lovelock has a natural talent with words and keeping us readers in our toes. I think I heard the previous book was her debut novel. Unbelievable. Love this series.

It's impossible to not get swept up in this story... in these characters. They literally just beg to be heard. I am already anticipating the next book.

I'm guessing it's about Sunday? I really hope so! This series is definitely a keeper. Absolutely fabulous all around. Definitely recommend.

Abso-freakin-lutely amazing.......prepare to be left shocked and speechless!!!!

After being completely blindsided by the awesomeness of book 1 i couldn't wait to pick back up where we left off, I NEEDED to know what happened next, and oh Holy hell my mind is BLOWN 🤯.....
A story of love and lies, a rollercoaster of high emotions and twists galore ,so buckle up buttercup and enjoy the ride 😈

I'm still in complete awe that this is only the second book by this author, these books truly are brilliant. Fantastic storyline and characters you will adore, she really does have a natural talent for writing and I'm extremely excited to see what futures words are to come.

There’s no such thing as the perfect her—

[ENTERS POE ALEXANDER HALLIDAY]

Fractured Things is book #2 of the Folkestone Sins series, and completes Poe and Stella’s love story. The cliffhanger at the end of Fragile Things (book #1) had me gasping for the next book, and let me tell you, I was not disappointed in the slightest. This book is everything I wanted and more for Poe and Stella.

More secrets are unburied. Lies are harder to keep. The mysteries surrounding the Heirs of Folkestone are unravelling thread by thread. And through it all, Poe and Stella continued to own my heart. Stella’s character kept getting stronger and stronger while Poe’s swoony self had me feeling all warm and gooey inside.

The ending gives way to Sunday and Payne’s story, and I already know I’m going to need these books in my life!

Fractured Things by Samantha Lovelock is book two in the Folkestone Series and lemme just say, it’s everything and more!!

Samantha continues to amaze me with her stellar storytelling abilities! Her writing is simply fantastic and her development of a solid story and equally well rounded characters makes it even better... plus, this is only her second book!!!

This book finds Poe and Stella reunited after the events at the end of Fragile Things but this world is very entwined with secrets and deceptions and cliffhangers.

You want to read this book, this series!!!

I’m on pins and needles for Restless Things!!

5 stars!!!

I absolutely loved Fragile Things so my expectations was high for this one. I’m so glad to say this is another great read by this author.

This is the conclusion to Stella and Poes story. It continues from where book one left us hanging. Their story is an intense and crazy ride that had me glued from start to finish. Both characters took a piece of my heart with them on this ride.

I’m so looking forward to reading more from this author.

Ob. Sessed. OBSESSED!

After Samantha Lovelock dropped that bomb at the ending of Fragile Things, I just knew that Fractured Things was going to hit hard. And it did! Lovelock does not pull any punches and gives us more insight into our favorite Heirs. There are so many layers to pull back, each one coming with more twists than the last.

But before I get too ahead of myself, can I just say how much I LOVE POE HALLIDAY?! Because I do. I really, really do. My heart broke for him as he was torn between two impossible choices and I hated to see him go through it. Just as he has my heart though, he has Stella’s, too.

And Stella? Talk about a girl who has had to navigate life throwing everything at her, now including the kitchen sink. She feels it all, too; all the rage and pain, the sadness, the betrayal, but also the joy and happiness. She’s realizing she fits in with the Heirs and finally has family around her.

Special shout-out to Sunday Easton for being perfect. Everyone needs a ride or die best friend like Sun, you know?

But hey, this is Folkestone and just when things start to smooth out, a wrench gets tossed in the mix. We’re hit with another cliffhanger that has me salivating for Restless Things. Samantha Lovelock has created such an incredible cast of characters and I’m in deep with all the secrets and trouble they face.

This was one series that the first book ended on a huge cliffhanger that whacked a punch and left me going OMFG what the hell just went down. Book #2 picks up from that night when everyone went cray-cray and dark secrets, abuse and betrayal were all laid out on the table. Stella couldn't handle it all and took off with her new best friend Sunday to New York so that she could clear her head on what to do. A few months later, Poe and his dad Mr. Halliday and Payne head to New York to bring the girls on. Here once again in the small town of Folkestone, Stella will have to face a whole lot of demons from discovering her birth father to the truth of her mother Catherine and secrets that surround her as remember Stella hasn't seen her mum since she took off when Stella was 16 and she is now turning 18. Once again, Fractured Things ended on another major cliffhanger that had me going what the heck and had to read that last sentence twice as Woah, did not see that coming. I am now looking forward to Book #3 and to see how Sunday's story plays out. Folkestone Sins is an amazing series that if you love messed-up families and dark romance and towns with deep, hidden secrets - then you will fall in love with Samantha Lovelock's series.

This is the second book in this series of Folkestone Sins #2 Series and it was a great read and is the conclusion in Poe and Stella's story. You have to read book #1 ion the series first though so the story line makes since to the reader. This book also ends on a major cliffy and it will have you throwing your kindle across the room. Lol! This author has a great writing style and really hooks the reader in. This story flows beautifully and I couldn't get enough of it. I love the characters and you cam really connect with them and I was really invested into the story.

This author is fantastic a creating cliff hangers and nail biting moments throughout the story and I was on the edge of my seat nearly the whole way through. This book is jam packed with a lot of drama, secret, twists, turns, shockers and love and once you have started this book you will not be able to put it down.

After the explosive ending of Fragile Things I have been looking forward to reading more of this series for awhile. Stella really seems to have the skill of finding trouble wherever she goes and 90% of it is finding out the secrets of the past and of the people who say they are her friends and family. So many surprises yet again in this one that had me gasping in surprise, it was awesome. Poe really has to prove himself over and over again to his Star and like a typical male he stuffs it up more than he gets it right but I definitely felt the love he had for his girl. The next book seems like it will be another character's story and the hints that were dropped at the end have me yet again excited for more of this crazy world.

I can not express how much i love this series and i can not wait for more!! Samantha’s writing totally makes you feel as though you are part of it all, gives you that connection to the characters and pulls on all of your emotions!

Lordy when you thought Stella and Poe couldn't get any hotter along comes book 2!! picking up right from the end of Fragile things this is told from both MC's point of view although more from Stella than Poe. Secrets and lies from the past are rapidly catching everyone up and the only thing that's for sure is no one is going to make it out of this without getting hurt.

The heirs are amazing, we get to see more of Sunday in this book and god I want a BFF like her, she's like a breath of fresh air every time she opens her mouth and I want amazing selfies! The sexual tension between her and Payne is unreal and i can't wait to see that go boom! Roxy and Aylie also show themselves to be exactly the kind of friends Stella needs

The underrunning mystery and deceptions from the past which have been dragged to the forefront by Stellas return seems to be just the tip of the iceberg and I can't wait to see where this goes next.

After devouring this talented authors debut I've been on tenterhooks waiting to see what on earth will happen next. Before diving into this book, do yourself a favour and read Fragile Things. Not only will it blow your mind on many different levels, things happen within that you need to know for this book to make more sense.

For those who thought (rightly so) book one was epic just you wait. I can't say anything without ruining things, but I'm sitting here bug eyed and scared to turn the page to find out what on earth is going on. There is on particular character who has some explaining to do it seems. Talking about characters, I am totally jealous of the fierce friendship between Star & Sun.

When the truth comes out is there hope for our star crossed lovers, or was their destiny ill fated from the start?

I had all the plans in the world to write a lengthy review, but this book consumed me in the very best way, and all I feel like doing is rocking in a corner drinking copious amounts of alcohol.

That should speak volumes of how much you need to read this series!!! I am in complete awe that this was the author's second ever novel. Trust me you don't want miss out. She's definitely one to watch.

Where to even begin… I love Poe and Sella and their willingness to work through problems and pave a way to a future worth having. This book has the angst, passion and mystery to point us in the direction that not everything is as it seems.

After we saw the fallout of the first book, there was no way that this story could get anymore dynamic and intense but boy was I wrong. There are secrets within the heirs and truth will always find itself to the surface. Samantha does a great job of setting the scene and surprising us throughout the series with her ingenuity and understanding of character building.

Stella is a strong character that takes whatever is thrown at her. She has learned to navigate life on her own two feet and wont take negative people in her life. Question is will she be able to accept what she finds out about herself or fall under the pressure and lies?

This book is the second installment of the Folkestone series and a great read if you have not started it yet. Will you go on Poe and Stella’s journey to finding happiness?

"Fractured Things" is the second book of the "Folkestone Sins" series by the author Samantha Lovelock. Told in dual perspectives , this book was definitely a most anticipated read of mine!!

After that crazy ending of the first book I was positively going crazy for this one and I definitely love it a lot!!! Poe and Stella are life and I am so glad that I got to read them again!! The book had some crazy angst that my heart loved a lot.

This book was complex and sinfully hot and disturbing and damn if I didn't love every second of it!! Now Stella and Poe are separated and there is nothing that Poe wouldn't do to explain things to Stella and to mend her broken heart. If only she would give him the chance. The book unfolds some crazy secrets and I loved every word!! The ending was great and this one is a definite recommendation to all the dark Romance lovers out there!!

Wait, what?
.
I mean I could have been slapped in the face and it would not have effected me as much as this book did.
.
I love this book. I don’t even know where to start first. The characters, amazing. The more I read the more I love every single one of them. Seeing them in this book compared to the first there are definitely some moments where I don’t believe they are the same people. They are incredibly written it’s amazing.
.
Samantha has a way to her writing you don’t come across often and it’s pure gold. Descriptive masterpiece with all the feels, how can you not love it. The plot is awesome and has a great pace set to it. I didn’t know that this was going to be a set of duets and just thought it was going to be a series, but I’m hella curious. There’s really no way to predict what’s going to happen. I’m loving the layers to this story also, it just draws you in and keeps you captivated from the first page.
.
I definitely need more. I didn’t think I would be consumed by this series but I am and I’m here for it.

Samantha Lovelock has created another masterpiece! After the way Fragile Things ended, I wasn’t sure I could stand waiting for Fractured Things. I NEEDED to know what was gonna happen with Poe and Stella!! How were they going to survive the life changing and hearth shattering events in Fragile Things??

Poe and Stella’s story is one for the ages. Poe loves hard and tries to do everything in his power to heal Stella’s broken and tattered heart and mind, whilst repairing their relationship. The secrets and depravity Stella uncovers is staggering both in Fragile and Fractured Things.

This book is so well written, it has all the depth and grit of a seasoned writer. The characters, both main and supplementary, are believable, interesting and well thought out, making it an easy read. I am left again, desperately needing to read the next book in this series!!

This is a definite 5 star book!

I had been anxiously waiting for Fractured Things and let me tell you Samantha DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! I fell in love with Stella and Poe in Fragile Things and they literally gave me everything and more. What do you do when your world comes crashing down on you after hearing all of the horrific things that happened to your mother that made her flee the only place she knows as her home. This story shows you just how strong and resilient Stella is, especially after more truth comes tumbling out. Can I just say, everyone needs a bestie like Sunday! Dare I say girl crush. Sun is fiercely loyal and has Stella's back no questions asked. I loved how Poe shows a more vulnerable side to him in this book. But when he has to disclose a hard truth to Stella their relationship is tested big time and they both need to decide to either sink or swim together. This story is unexpected, emotional and had me devouring it page after page. I can't wait for more to come!

Poe & Stella went through a rollercoaster of a ride. My emotions were everywhere with this one. I thought book 1 broke but book 2 final nail in my coffin of a broken heart !!

I love the final chapter cause we got in the mind of the amazing Sunday and to feel her heart drop with what Poe showed everyone on his phone...

REALLY RECOMMEND & my fav of 2020❤

💔 broke for Stella and Holt. Holt loved her mam and I was hoping she would return...and then Holt can finally be happy and her mam to to have her happy ending too...😢 Let's just says my heart broke for Holt alot.

This book continues on from where the first book left us hanging and what a ride it takes us on. More secrets and lies quickly catch up to the characters and when the truth gets revealed, nothing is held back. Stella & Poe go through hell when these secrets are exposed and I love the different POVs allowing us to see it from both Poe's & Stella's. Samantha does such a grand job of creating such wonderful characters that you can fall in love with and her storylines really keep you on your toes! The Heirs are such friendship goals and I cant get enough of them. Sunday is quickly becoming one of my favourite characters ever and I cant wait to dive into the next book to see what happens after the bomb shell that was dropped at the end of this book!!

Spectacular

I loved this book it was so amazing m. After the bombshells dropped at the end of the first book I wasn’t sure what would happen between Poe and Stella. I loved seeing Poe go after Stella to New York it really showed how much he cared for her. Book 2 Stella was stronger and resilient but still suffered and hurt so much in this book. Also after the bombshells at the end of book 1 I didn’t think it could be topped but let me tell you this book had my jaw
Absolutely dropped. I can’t wait for book 3
