Wrong victims. Doesn’t fit the narrative. If the roles were reversed, which they would not be and should not be, this would be the focus of screaming international headlines.
“Rising hate crimes against Armenians serve as a warning,” by Stephan Pechdimaldji, San Francisco Examiner, January 6, 2021:
Over the past year the number of hate crimes committed against the Armenian-American community has been on the rise. In the San Francisco Bay Area alone, there have been four hate crimes committed against the Armenian community over the last six months including a local Armenian School being vandalized with hateful and racist graffiti, which was followed by an arson attack on St. Gregory Armenian Apostolic Church. There are about 2,500 Armenian-Americans living in the San Francisco Bay Area, so these crimes per capita is a very high number given how small the community is. For a region of the country that prides itself on its progressivism, diversity and acceptance of all cultures, these latest attacks should be a warning sign that hate, and violence can rear its ugly head irrespective on where you may live.
While the timing of these latest incidents might be circumspect, they both occurred right before Azerbaijan, with the help of Turkey, launched an attack on Armenia over the disputed territory of Nagorno-Karabakh in September. The vandals at the Armenian School in San Francisco spray-painted the colors of the Azerbaijan flag and used threatening language in Azerbaijani. In many ways, these latest hate crimes, coupled with the resurgence of hostilities in the South Caucasus, are a continuation of the Armenian Genocide that is now finding its way to the San Francisco Bay Area.
It is often said that those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it. We are clearly seeing these prophetic words come to life for Armenians in the San Francisco Bay Area who have fought for decades for recognition of the Armenian Genocide. As victims of oppression, Armenians see these latest attacks as an extension of Turkey and Azerbaijan’s denial of the 1915 Armenian Genocide and a threat to their very existence….

Awesome! We now have the Armenia-Azerbaijan war in San Francisco. Why stop there: why not bring over Iranian and Turkish jihadists, so that we can have shi’a-sunni riots in Oakland? Put it down under intra-BLM squabbles

@Infidel. Immediately after the terror attack on Air India in 1985, https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/jan/27/air-india-bombing-1985-canada-inderjit-singh-reyat-released Canada had deported hundreds of Sikh’s back to India. They had become persona non grata. Why it is not possible for the state of California to do the same with Azerbaijani community, or at least with people who are involved in actions like these ones? This is a terror attack, and terrorists have to be pushed back.

When “Team Biden Harris” loosen up immigration policy from unstable Islamic countries see terrorism skyrocket in all parts of America.

This seems very likely. The attacks are a bit like the mostly peaceful demonstrations that the left apologized for this summer. I can well imagine theleft making this possibly through mass migration from unstable countries. It is partly the fault of Republicans, who did not try to stop them from changing the election laws to favor Biden and the failure to prevent voting fraud in the election. We might say the religion of peace strikes again.

Spent some time in San Francisco back in the mid-1980s.
Seemed like a wonderful city – clean, great restaurants, entertainment, etc.
Due to to conditions created by Democrats, it’s now in a death spiral – and major medical associations will no longer hold their conventions there due to the crime and filth.
Something even Dirty Harry couldn’t fix…

I used to occasionally go there in the 90s. It was quaint, but both traffic and parking were ugly. I much preferred the suburban feel to the Santa Clara valley, where I lived and worked. But when I visited there in 2014, I was shocked to see that most of the companies I’d drive past in the 90s and even the 00s were gone
What struck me was the tolerance of the public for mismanagement of San Francisco, and why companies like Yelp!, which could have located anywhere, picked that most expensive place – a stupid decision given that one of any company’s goals is to minimize costs. Anyway, even the woke companies of California are leaving, so Newsome will need all that cash he has at hand

Totally agree, Mr. Lincoln and Infidel. San Francisco is my hometown, and I will never go back again.
Pelosi and her minions have destroyed it imo.
Bay Area is the only place where you can get arrested for eating a sandwich on a BART platform, but not so much as a citation for defecating or shooting drugs on one.

The country is circling the drain. It’s gotten so bad that the inevitable terminal deterioration that’s inevitable from Islam is a side point. The policies forthcoming from the Kamala/Joe will dominate the headlines for the next few years, disruptions and failures all over. For us it’ll be nice to think less about Moslems and more about the globo-socialists.
It’s that bad. Think about it, our biggest problem is China and we’ve just “elected” through an openly stolen election a president who’s received millions in payment from China for his influence peddling services. As a personal tip to Joe, who’s in the role of a table server to the China, the CCP gave Joe/Nance/Chuck the opportunity to mass mail unsolicited ballots to tens of millions, which is unprecedented and wide open to…… election fraud.
It’s all one tight little package. You scratch my back and I’ll ride on yours. Way to go, Joe.
Boycott Turkey says
AzerbaNAZIS strike again they and Turkey want to finish of the genocide they started in 1915 what are the US police going to do about this? This is not vandalism by some bored thugs it’s a evil racist hate crime and the FBI should investigate it and expose the hate and racism of AzerbaiNAZIS

Biden wants more of these rag heads in America, they make such wonderful citizens. Until islam cleans up its own house I don’t want them in mine.

The only way that islam can clean up its own house is to tear it down…

San Francisco: Azerbaijani Muslims vandalize Armenian school, set fire to Armenian church
……………
I live here and I had managed to miss this story. Let’s just say it did *not* receive wide coverage.
And as noted, this is not the first crime targeting Armenian churches:

I lived and played music in and around the city between 1969 & 1986. While I did not experience overt anti-Armenian sentiment (Omar Khayyam’s was a great place to eat. Popular too), this does not surprise me in the least. (With my “Proud Proboscis” I’ve been mistaken for [a.k.a. derided for being] many ethnicities.) In fact, being fromRhode Island, I’d never heard the term, “Fresno Indian” until I was in basic training at Fort Ord by Monterey. Since my antecedents are Armenischer, Englander, Franklander, Hollander und Scotlander, as I replied once in Munich, West Germany, I occasionally tweak the liberals with, “A proud member of the Fresno Band of the Fresno Indians”. (It usually takes them awhile to figure that one out.) I am also a proudly Unhyphenated American. That has ticked off some of the entrenched “Cubby-hole’ers” I’ve interacted with. As I always say (since 09/11/2001): “If you want to know what life would be like living in a Caliphate and/or under Sharia Law, ask an Armenian”.
Myron J. Poltroonian says
[Addendum: I sometimes mix it up as a”A proud member of the Providence of Fresno Indians”. That really confuses ’em.]
