My latest in PJ Media:
A race up in New Hampshire will show whether the Stupid Party, as the Republican establishment is so deservedly called, is going to get smart now. On Saturday, the New Hampshire Republican state committee will either re-elect Steven Stepanek as chairman of the New Hampshire Republican Party, or elect Keith Hanson. It’s a contest over whether the Republican Party in New Hampshire will remain the party of Mitch McConnell, i.e., cowardice and me-tooism, or whether it will genuinely offer a choice to voters and a home for people who are genuinely alarmed at the Leftist establishment’s contempt for civil liberties.
“There is a concerted effort, Keith Hanson told me, “to silence conservatives on the state level, and I stand in direct challenge to the initiatives to push the party to the left in an effort to be liked by progressive Democrats,” of whom, Hanson added, the present New Hampshire Republican leaders are “terrified.”
I have direct experience of this, and a keen interest in this race, because back in October 2019, when he was the chairman of the Sullivan County Republican Party in New Hampshire, Hanson invited me to come to the state and speak to his group, and all hell broke loose. What happened as a result of his invitation showed in microcosm how the far Left has gained control of the political process in America, while Republican leaders are generally spineless accommodationists who fold at the least sign of disapproval from Democrats.
My appearance led to what has now become the usual firestorm that ensues whenever someone who challenges the prevailing Leftist narrative speaks anywhere. I was defamed in the local media by Raymond Buckley, chair of the New Hampshire Democratic Party, as a “white supremacist”; Buckley had apparently confused me with Richard Spencer, and refused to retract when repeatedly asked to do so. Democrat State Senator Martha Hennessey, imitating the Nazi Brownshirts in the early 1930s, jumped on and led a smear campaign on Twitter to get me canceled. Two venues caved in to this and canceled the event, which ultimately took place at a third. Here is the video. You can see for yourself if it’s full of “hate.”
Buckley is a liar and Hennessey is a fascist, so neither should be in positions of public service, but they’re typical in the Democrat Party these days. What was far worse was the cowardly response on the Republican side. Instead of investigating the false charges being made about me, discovering I wasn’t really any of the things that were being said, and standing up for the freedom of speech, the New Hampshire Republicans were ready to kowtow and do everything the Democrats wanted.
There is more. Read the rest here.

Well, as Dennis Prager has said for years, the Democratic Party is the Dangerous Party and the Republican Party is the Stupid Party.
Trump tried to change this about the latter party but one person against monumental stupidity is, to say the least, an uphill battle.
As for the Dangerous Party, no end in sight. Actually, gettin’ worse by the year.
Much trouble ahead. Thanks, Mitch, you old fart.

Wellington,
Yes, Pres. Trump was definitely swimming “against the current”:
1. The democrat party
2. Media bias / big tech
3. The Deep State
4. Weak Republicans.
5. Never Trumpers
6. etc,.
revereridesagain says
Between “Never Trumpers” and “etc.” add the influence of “MassHoles”, liberals from Marxachusetts who have moved to the “Live Free or Die” state and brought their “I’d rather die than vote conservative” attitude with them.

And don’t forget all those NH republicans that voted a republican straight ticket and then checked off Biden for president. Maybe because they didn’t like the way President Trump articulated himself? Have to agree this NH republican party and McConnell is the dumbest party on the planet. Now look at the mess we are in.
Infidel says
The larger problem w/ the GOP in most New England states is that they are the real definition of RINOs – a term that’s wrongly applied to Trump haters as much as to them. Trump-haters/never-Trumpers and GOP establishment people like Liz Cheney or John Bolton are/were at least republicans in most important issues, be it taxes, judges, military and so on. They diverged from Trump on issues such as ending endless wars, balancing the budget/entitlement reform and a few other things. Whereas New England Republicans – RINOs – would be Democrats anywhere else in the country
I’m disappointed that Corey Lewandowski didn’t run for the senate seat this year. Hopefully he does 2 years from now. As for this NH race, hope Hanson wins, but more importantly, next year, we need to treat the GOP primaries as importantly as the Iowa Caucuses and the New Hampshire primaries (if Trump decides to run, I doubt that we’ll have primaries in either party in 2024)
James Lincoln says
Excellent analysis, Infidel.
In what category would you put Susan Collins, Senator from Maine?
Infidel says
James, I forgot to mention her, but she’s the latest in the line of RINOs – liberal Republicans. There were others that I recall, like John Chafee, Lincoln Chafee, Jim Jeffords, Olympia Snowe, Bill Weld, Mitt Romney and today Charlie Baker and Phil Scott. Chris Sununu and Maine’s Paul LePage seem to be the exceptions
I’m not sure that the GOP has been better off by winning any New England senate seats (except maybe Scott Brown): all it does is pull the party leftwards, as we saw during the Obamacare debates. In the meantime, NH has become bluer, as people from Massachusetts have flooded them in the same way Californians have flooded Arizona and partly Texas. Maybe New England is better off having a 2 party system – Democrats and Socialists. Why would Republicans even bother?
James Lincoln says
Thank you for the reply, Infidel.
And former Maine Gov. Paul LePage was a very strong supporter of former Pres. Trump…
Infidel says
James, I’m just disappointed that Paul LePage didn’t primary Susan Collins and then run for the senate. Or better yet, Collins and LePage could have swapped positions: Collins could have become Maine’s governor, while LePage could have been a mainstream GOP senator. In fact, that may have made Lisa Murkowski less likely to vote the way she did, had she had no company
James Lincoln says
Infidel,
I agree that a better case scenario would have been Susan Collins as Maine Gov. and Paul LePage as a mainstream GOP Sen…

They should not try to silence fellow conservatives, but patiently hear them and debate ideas. The answer to wrong speech or incorrect speech is more speech.
Eagle Nest says
Yes I agree, the speech American people need to hear for healing would be an apology from Pelosi, Adam Schiff, Charlie Schumer, and Nadler for the last failed impeachment attempt of President Trump. Remember? “No one is above the law?” Does the law apply to these human excrement? Maybe when pigs fly?

The Rinos really did. us a favor by handing the 2020 election to Biden. The Congress and the courts and the media elected Biden. We didn’t. This unlawful action should be punished all around and the rightful winner, Trump, put in office immediately. This is looking like a very bad joke and is in fact a very dangerous situation. 2024 is going to be too late to fix this mess. And we saw what happened to Ron Paul and others in the GOP primaries. Rinos are just another dangerous arm of the globalist establishment. It’s time to act now! They are complicit in voter fraud and need to take the walk today!
Infidel says
That’s the only silver lining in this election, the storming of the capitol on Jan 6th and so on: we got to see the true colors of every republican – from the Liz Cheneys and Lindsay Grahams to the Kelly Loefflers and Dan Crenshaws. So if things have to continue in the GOP, we know who to primary next year
I still strongly think that President Trump should announce the new Patriot Party, and invite anyone dedicated to his agenda to join him

I didn’t always care for Trumps style of speaking and the way he treated people. But I as an American citizen and long term tax payer felt safer with the closing of the borders and the rebuilding of our military. On top of that the economy and employment were the best we’ve seen in my life time 70+ yrs. Sadly Biden and crew are tearing that all down as I type this.
I recently read that it would be a good idea to take your voting rights away if your on welfare and in public housing, sounds terrible until you think of it from the standpoint of people who don’t want to work are voting against those who do, in order to get more free stuff. I’am all for taking care of people who are physically unable or mentally unable to work, but there are generations of families that have lived off of the rest of us and want to continue getting more for free. These families and individuals will always vote to improve their benefits as the number one issue in their lives. Where is the incentive to get off your butt and go to work or school so YOU can improve your own life without living off of me?
Carol the 1st says
When a society stops having ordinary jobs for ordinary people won’t those lives seem rather aimless and out of their own control? Won’t they begin to be rather despised by those who have the necessity or luxury of a working life and who would to a certain extent otherwise be happy to share the wealth?
IDLE HANDS ARE THE DEVILS WORKSHOP. Makes you wonder if we should deliberately go back to simpler times/taking care of our own backyard as these one-size-fits-all authoritarians/globalists certainly aren’t to be relied upon in any safe or meaningful way.

Today’s Republican Party is generally no more than the “RIGHT WING” of the Democrat Party.
They are the Modern day Whigs. The still wriggling tail of a reptile that doesn’t realize that the other-end is dead!
