What could possibly go wrong? The Parole Board for England and Wales says he is “suitable for release” because of “progress made while in detention.” And they must know, right? Concerted efforts must have been made while RXG was in prison to disabuse him of his jihadist sentiments, right? Actually, no. No. Nothing, nothing whatsoever, was done while they were in prison to challenge their jihadist beliefs. Any such effort would have been “Islamophobic.” Instead, these beliefs were reinforced, as the jihadis were given Qur’ans and allowed to pray Islamic prayers together, despite the fact that the Qur’an inspired them to commit or plot jihad violence in the first place. Would Nazi prisoners during World War II have been given copies of Mein Kampf and allowed to congregate to study the words of the Führer? So again: what could possibly go wrong?
“Jailed for life over plot to behead police officer, Britain’s youngest convicted terrorist is now ‘suitable for release,'” by Jessie Yeung, CNN, January 19, 2021:
(CNN)Britain’s youngest convicted terrorist, who was sentenced to life in prison for masterminding a plot to behead an Australian police officer in broad daylight in 2015, can now be set free, a parole board ruled on Monday.
The 20-year-old man, from Blackburn, Lancashire, was aged 14 when he planned the strike in Melbourne for Anzac Day — a national holiday honoring Australia’s war dead — according to CNN affiliates Seven News and Nine News. Because he was a minor, he can only be identified as RXG.
RXG recruited Australian co-conspirator Sevdet Besim, who was 18 at the time, to carry out the attack, in which a police officer was to be beheaded in front of thousands of people during Anzac Day celebrations.
The plan was ultimately uncovered and foiled by police, and both were arrested. Later that year, RXG was sentenced to life in prison for inciting terrorism overseas.
But on Monday, the Parole Board for England and Wales ruled that he could be set free, Seven News and Nine News reported.
“After considering the circumstances of his offending, the progress made while in detention, and the evidence presented at the hearings, the panel was satisfied that RXG was suitable for release,” the board said in a statement.
RXG managed to convince Besim that he was much older and had a history of radicalism, and the pair set out the details of the attack in thousands of messages sent using an encrypted app.
But the plan was foiled, police say, when RXG threatened to behead teachers at his school in northern England — prompting counterterrorism experts to crack the encryption code on his phone and find the messages….

Not a problem. The UK Police Forces all support and aid Islam. Karma.

“BRITAIN’S POLICE FORCES seem to have agreed amongst themselves that their real purpose is not deterring crime and catching criminals but pulling increasingly embarrassing stunts in public to signal their political virtue.”

It is a shame this is in the UK where US law does not apply. Searching and reading the California case from the late 1970’s, just in time to make it into the law school casebooks, Tarasoff v. Board of Regents could show how the geniuses who release this creep might be sued if he does what he is programmed to do. But this is the UK where such deadly conduct is not punished: IT IS REWARDED.

He should get life without parole.

The authorities seem so sure of themselves in saying that he is now “suitable for release” and that he has “made progress while in custody”. They’d better be right and it had better be a hell of a lot of progress that he has made. As Robert Spencer notes, sarcastically, “And they must know, right?” Yeah, as if. I’d say, as Robert Spencer implies, that there’s a very good chance that this scumbag is playing the authorities for fools and he’ll remain a danger forever. These authorities seem to be way overconfident in their capacity to see into the inner workings of this Muslim maggot’s mind.
Christpher Watson says
The chances of him committing more crimes within months is probably 100%. So now ‘life’ means 5 years. Perhaps the authorities should prepare their messages of regret now. They may not have much time after he is released.
tim gallagher says
Yes, Christopher, I was also struck by the extraordinarily short time this Muslim scumbag spent in jail. AS you say “life” becomes a mere 5 years. I really believe that we are just far too soft with these shortened jail sentences. I think you are right. These authorities had better start thinking up excuses for their idiotic decision because there is surely a very big risk that this creep will soon offend again.
James Lincoln says
Yes, Christopher.
I can just hear the “authorities” now in some back room saying something like:
“How are we going to “spin” this after he commits more crimes? Who can we blame?”

……..;…………..
So now “life” means less than two years? Just grotesque.

There is no “queen of London”. And the implication that it is MI6 waging violent Jihad makes no more sense.

Model. Who is this queen of London. No-one in the UK have ever heard of her.

This seems to be the trend around the free world. You get a longer sentence for non-violent crimes then terrorism and murder or you get an early out.
