Ready to fall in love with Punky?

Totally wasn't expecting this book. It was dark and delicious with a cherry on top.

From the prologue I was like, okay... I'm going to love this. When the opening scenes involve something emotionally dark, bloody with violence and triggers, you know you're going to be in for a ride. Or I do anyway. My favorite kind of book!

Puck Kelly or "Punky" is going to own your heart. His life changed from a horrific childhood moment and he wears those emotional scars like a war paint. Literally. So beautifully broken you will feel all the emotions with him, deceived for most of his life, its hard for him to know what to believe and who to trust.

"Babydoll" as Punky has named her after their first meeting has a job to do. In order to save her family she has to lie, deceive, steal and become a puppet in this deadly world.

Punky knows she is up to no good but the pull between these two can't be fought. The twists and turns that come about in this book you will not be expecting. I wasn't. The action, blood, suspense, mob scenes and hot sex had me flipping through these pages pretty quick. Buckle up!

It is book 1 in the series so don't expect it to be wrapped up with a pretty bow, more like blown to pieces. If you like your romance a bit darker than some then you will want this one on your shelf.

My wee lads!!! What in the bleeding heck just happened? Hours after hitting 'The End (for now)' I am still sitting here shooketh with my mouth wide open catching flies after Monica James just dropped the mic with one heck of a plot twist!!!

Thy Kingdom Come is a twisted, dark, and gritty tale about Puck 'Punky' Kelly, and his blood lust and soul deep need to avenge the brutal death of his Ma.
From the raw, dark, and utterly heartbreaking prologue James's storytelling had me gripped and devouring every word. She has created a captivating world that draws you in. It's riddled with lies, deceit, death, and oh so many secrets your head will spin.
The main characters Puck and Babydoll are EVERYTHING! While ghosts and events from their past have made them dark, twisted, and scarred you won't be able to not fall in love with both of them.
Their journey wreaked havoc on my emotions and had my heart aching, pounding, and warming.
It was raw, dark, twisted, violent, suspenseful, utterly shocking, and yet beyond all of the darkness there was a light, a soul deep connection between Puck and Babydoll that was beautiful to read.

Honestly, Thy Kingdom Come is hard to review in some ways because I really don't want to give away the plot. It's a book you simply need to grab yourself a drink, buckle up, and dive in head first.
Take in all the details, watch out for the twists and turns, and look out for that plot twist!!!!
Bring on Book 2!! This journey has just begun and I'm so damn ready for the rest!!

What did I just read???? How does Monica James work her magic time and time again..... post book me: “WTF just happened - I need book 2”....!!!

Punky has had a hard life, from experiencing a truly traumatic experience as a child he has a whole lot of questions that have fueled an unquenchable thirst for revenge and justice. He has played the game. He’s followed the rules and done what he needs to do. But the need for answers will not stay dormant.... and as he ramps up his search, things start to unravel around him and he finds himself closer than he’s ever been before. Just when he thinks he has a grip on things....Babydoll strolls into his life and turns his world upside down when he realises that the pull he has towards her will not be ignored!

He is the ultimate antihero, with so much running below the surface and you only catch glimpses of the heart beneath, but those glimpses are enough to have you falling hard and turning the pages.... together, him and babydoll are absolute fire and James just effortlessly convinces you that they were pulled together by fate. But fate can be a fickle b****.

James IS my favourite dark romance writer. I cannot wait for the next instalment.

This is an insta connection romance full of darkness in the most delicious way. Punky witnesses his mother’s brutal murder at a young age which changes him to not feel love but the moment he lays his eyes on babydoll even when he keeps denying the feelings he thought he’d never feel again you just feel it, it oozes off the pages. Even though he knows she’s trouble he can’t help this pull to her and vice versa. Monica just knows how to draw you in and feel every sort of emotion each character is feeling. I loved how strong and sassy babydoll was, even with the hand she was given. There are some pretty brutal scenes that kept me glued to myself.

When he goes after his families swarm enemy and the people that murdered his mother revelations are made. There are so many twists and turns you don’t see coming. The chemistry between babydoll and punky is sizzling, I had to fan myself quiet a bit. I was left thinking and feeling what the ef.. but craving more because it’s left on a cliffhanger and there are so many unanswered questions and so much more storyline to be told, that I want book two now. I cannot wait to read more of this series and continue my fix on punky and babydoll.

Monica has: Wrecked Me. Ruined Me. Slayed Me. With this story. I am absolutely head over heels in love with Punky. This book grabs you by the throat and pulls you in from the start holding you incapacitated until the final word has been read. And even after your done you are still enraptured, going back through the pages you have already read screaming that you need the rest NOW, It can’t end this WAY. Alas it does and Monica leaves you awash with so many conflicting emotions, but the one in the forefront is how much you loved this book!!

Monica has this way with her words that calls to the dark side in us all. She weaves these tales that have you salivating at the depravity and the deviance occurring making you seriously question your moral compass. But at the heart of her books there is loyalty and honor, there’s love and devotion, there is need and dominance, and at the heart of this story there is revenge a living breathing entity always pulsing in a steady rhythm throughout. Not all love stories grow in the light, some need the dark to thrive and this is one of those stories.

If you do not like cliff hangers, I would not recommend this because Monica throws you straight off the dang side of one and you hit every rock on the way down. But I personally do not mind them if I know one is coming. And I cannot wait to see what Monica brings us next. With how this story ended I am anxious and impatient to see how Punky grows from his experiences and to see the man that he has become. I am eager to get thrust into the darkness once again and letting it consume like only Monica can.

To be honest I'm not sure what to put in this review, its taken me a few days write! Other than "what the hell have I just read?"

This story is such a rollercoaster, litterally you will not be able to put it down! I loved that it kept me in my toes, just when I thought I had it figured it out BAM, wrong!

Puck and Babydoll are litteral fire, the chemistry between them is so hot it jumps off the pages.

I can not wait for the next books to come out!

This tale is dark, twisted, unpredictable, haunting and will keep you turning the pages!! The attention to detail in this story has you envisioning every sordid detail! I want to see this turn into a movie.

Puck 'Punky' Kelly has demons that haunt him and drive him daily. He has seen too much for his young age. His mission in life is to avenge his mother's death. He was 5 years old at the time but he remembers that they were three men who were present when his mother died. When Punky starts his research, the lies, secrets, religious wars and ties to his family and the other main drug family in Ireland seem to be too much. Who can Punky trust besides himself and his two boys Rory and Cian? Everyone wears a red flag.

Out of nowhere appears Camille, otherwise known Babydoll. Why does she help Punky? Why is he so drawn to her? Why is there so much uncertainty about her? Will his demons allow him to develop a relationship with Babydoll? And just WHO is this Babydoll? Where did she appear from? Can she be trusted?

Oh, the Irish lingo in this story is so hot!!

And this is just book 1, I can't wait to read book 2!!

Where to even start! Right from the get-go this book starts dark af. It's gripping and action packed.
This writing style was hard to get in to at first, the thick Irish accents were hard to read but once I got into it it was sooo good. So if you're struggling with the accent, stick it out and keep reading because it is so worth it. I can't wait for the next installment.

Holy Punk(y)!!! That’s truly all I can say at the moment after finishing this book! Thy Kingdom Come is INCREDIBLE!!! I binge read it in a day and a half. It’s rare when a book pulls me in so deep and doesn’t let me go. What you think you know, you really don’t!

Punky has gone through so much in his life and it’s shaped the man he has become. He is strong, takes no crap from anyone and is on a mission (one that’s been on the agenda for a long time). He’s looking for answers and sets about his own way to get them. My heart bleeds for him and you just can’t help but love him!

Babydoll is beautiful but also very fiesty, sly, smart and raises suspicion. She knows more than she lets on and is a mystery Punky wants to figure out. Their chemistry is off the charts and they fit so perfectly together!

This story takes you through so many twists and turns that you’re left wondering what the truth really is and who’s telling it. This book made me gasp, had my heart pounding and I couldn’t read it fast enough to find out the truth! I can’t express enough how much I would recommend this book to everyone! If I could give it 10 stars I would! What you think you know, buckle up buttercup and keep reading! Monica James, this book is one of my new absolute favorites and there’s still 2 more!
