This has been a strategy that the Islamic State has been open about for years, as is explained in detail in The Complete Infidel’s Guide to ISIS.
“Daesh terrorists in Turkey act secular to conceal identity,” Daily Sabah, February 4, 2021 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):
Daesh terrorists in Turkey have been disguising themselves as nonreligious, alcohol-consuming individuals to evade police scrutiny, a detained top terrorist in northwestern Sakarya province has revealed.
Turkish security forces nabbed Jordanian national A.Z.A.A.D., a suspected high-ranking Daesh member, in Sakarya on Wednesday. He was the so-called “deputy minister of education,” responsible for all of the terrorist group’s educational institutions in regional Daesh strongholds in Iraq and Syria from 2014-2017.
The terrorist used a fake identity, shaved his beard off, tied his hair up in a ponytail and wore stylish outfits to conceal his true identity, the investigators said, according to the Hürriyet daily.
Like the Jordanian national, other Daesh terrorists in Turkey also opted for a secular-image and embraced an anti-social lifestyle to minimize contact with the outside world.
They also put beer bottles in front of their homes to trick passersby into thinking they consume alcohol, which is strictly prohibited in Islam, and even rubbed some on their faces when they went outside.
Authorities also indicated that the terrorist group used social media outlets for their propaganda. For instance, A.Z.A.A.D. allegedly published images of people that were brutally killed by Daesh in support of the group’s propaganda….

Using deception to mask intended goals
Is a stated aim in the Muslim Brotherhood plan.
It’s quite unaffected by Western opinion polls,
And is something we need to accept as soon as we can.

War is deceit as the false prophet said 1400 years ago and let alone the Taqiyya ( Quran 3:28 ) in other words LEGAL lying to non Muslims

“Taqiyya is of fundamental importance in Islam. Practically every Islamic sect agrees to it and practices it … We can go so far as to say that the practice of taqiyya is mainstream in Islam, and that those few sects not practicing it diverge from the mainstream … Taqiyya is very prevalent in Islamic politics, especially in the modern era.” – Sami Mukaram, At-Taqiyya fi ‘l-Islam (London: Mu’assisat at-Turath ad-Druzi, 2004)

You can include Erdogan in that group.

Oh yeah, Erdopig & his radicalized pedophile Ottoman gang of looters, rapists & bloodthirsty decapitating monkeys are excercising the very same ‘Takhiya’ practices on a daily basis!

Yes. I find the article a bit “comical” in that Turkey harboured the ISIS leader and let the soldiers of ISIS come and go at will. They pretend every now and then to have captured a terrorist from the group–while he is probably having dinner with Erdogan as we read this.
Or IF he was apprehended in the first place, it was probably for looking like a Westerner, with a pony-tail, behaving in secular ways in obvious fashion, etc. THAT will get people arrested these days in Turkey it seems, and it’s only getting worse there as they crack down with Sharia, bit by bit. Now that all the opposition is in jail, and journalists who might critique them are in jail, in exile, or dead, all they have to do is keep a steady drip on the people. And there will be no more opposing the plans of the gov’t that’s currently in power (which have very low approval ratings among the Turkish people).

Let’s say turkish police gets them what then? 7-8 years is the maximum sentence turkish courts typically give to isis terrorist mass murderers (unlike journalists who get anywhere from 20 to 200). They’ll do a bit of of time in Turkey learn the language and as soon as they “graduate” from prison they’ll likely be reqruited by turkish intelligence or they will enroll in one of the turkish backed islamist militias in Syria or even straight back to isis

Let’s remember where the 911 jihadis trained, and recruited. Turkey.
