I have been wanting to find out what happened with this missing omega ever since I read Andorra Sector so this couldn't come too soon for me.
So yeh this is a different author to that one but set in the same world.
This is a reverse harem read with I think 3 Heros for our Omega.
I say think as this is the first book in a duet and the story is yet to complete.
I was actually pleased with that fact as it meant this wasn't rushed this took its time to help forge that initial connection.
So, Meira, an omega flees after she is captured from the wild by Ash Wolves as part of a current trade shipment between there packs.
She's a lone Wolf who still hasn't shifted living wild since her mother was killed by shadow monsters (Zombies).
Duscan is the Alpha of the Ash Wolves, Lucian is his third and finally Bardhyl his forth and Meira's wolf feels a connection to all of them.
This didn't disappoint and managed to keep my attention throughout.
I liked the fact this built the tension rather than jump straight into the matings.
There was plenty of action. likeable characters and a lot going on.
I am looking forward to the next part of this and seeing where this one goes this really was a great and imaginative start and it left me wanting more.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of Shadowlands Sector.

This book is incomplete

I hate, Hate, HATE books that end in the middle of a peak! I thought this was going to be either a 4 or 5 stars but I cannot do it.

I was enjoying this story until it just ended, at 88% in the KU edition. That means I still thought I had two or more chapters to go through. The settlement is under attack, the Alphas realise something about Meira, Meira is deliberating her options, the infected are ripping people to pieces, then "CONTINUE THE STORY IN SHADOWLANDS SECTOR 2". Did Ms Young run out of paper or ink? This is not a cliffhanger, its an incomplete book.

I saw, from other reviews, that the series is concluded but its still irritating as hell. This is the reason its difficult to support new series releases because some authors, like this one, cannot be bothered to give customers a complete product. Can you imagine buying a house but the floors are still dirt, or a car with no wheels? Why do some authors think its acceptable to give customers an incomplete product when this is not tolerated in any other industry? If a lawyer drops a client in the middle of court trial, for no reason, I am sure there will be repercussions for such conduct. Who holds authors accountable for ripping readers off? I am not a writer but I know an incomplete book when I see one. I don't think planned series means "just drop the story where ever". I am sure certain standards should still be maintained even with a continuing book series.

This book ended on climax, there was no falling action, no resolution. Which sucks because it is not badly written, just incomplete. Normally I would deduct 1 point for a stupid cliffhanger because I really hate cliffhangers. But like I said, this one is not a cliffhanger, its simply incomplete. So, Ms Young, for making me feel like a sucker for wanting to continue the series, I am taking away more points in my rating.

Also, if you haven't read the other books in this Zombie Year 2099 world, it might be difficult to fully follow the story. It sort of assumes that the reader is familiar with this world.

My first read by this author and definitely NOT my last - especially as this one ends on a cliffie!

I came to this story via Andorra Sector by Lexi C Foss. We briefly met Dusan there, though Mila Young's clever world building and dissemination of information means you don't need to read that to understand and enjoy this. The small number of chapters in this did make me wonder how the author was going to convincingly write a reverse harem story in the available time, so I'm glad it isn't stand alone. So despite being absolutely desperate to know what happens next, I'm glad that this is going to be a longer, more complex and developed tale.

I LOVED Meira. A strong heroine, who might have been inexperienced in terms of contact with others, but she sure knew how to look after herself. Dusan needed to earn her affection, after all he had 'stolen' her from her life, one that she was perfectly content with. I liked how the pair did forge that connection, and loved that Dusan ultimately gave Meira the ability to choose freely.

Another thing I really appreciated, was how the author wove a story and set of circumstances that, both for Meira as well as the other females, made their capture a blessing rather than a curse. It pushed dub-con boundaries but was definitely the lesser of two evils.

I couldn't read the book quickly enough and was totally captivated by it, falling in love with both Meira and Dulsan. Personally I needed to see a little more of Lucien with Meira, that part of the story line felt just a little bit too rushed for my liking. However I'm sure there will be plenty of opportunity to get to really know him, and Bardhyl who I suspect will prove equally important to the story. It was surprisingly slow burn, but when the flame did ignite boy was there a heatwave. SCORCHING.

This author's fantastic writing, great characters and brilliant storyline has definitely found her a new fan.

I dove into this book with high hopes because it was recommended to me with glowing praise. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to disagree with most—if not all—of the reviews.

General review: It's a fast-paced book that fails to pull together all the strings it dangles into a neat little bow. It ends on a sort-of cliffhanger, but there is no concise world-building that allows the reader to fully immerse themselves in the world. Characters' personalities are vague and frustratingly inconsistent. The romances are rushed and underdeveloped with no tangible chemistry between the characters. There is some use of fictional elements such as flashbacks that come out of nowhere, making the reader question their necessity. Although I do commend the revelation at the end where , I still recommend a reedit that makes the narrative flow smoother.

MEIRA
It was pretty obvious from the get-go that Meira was ; it's a pretty common affliction for most heroines in a shifter romance. I was honestly hoping she was secretly . Meira's personality is admirable...until she meets Dušan. Then, she suddenly becomes someone who's easily tossed around, and somehow forgets that she is more or less a bird in a gilded cage. And once she allows , her personality does a complete one-eighty the next day. She literally went from "I want you now" to "Never" to and that just frustrated me to no end.

DUŠAN
Your typical everyday male alphahole. His character was two-dimensional, and was full of pinings for Meira that had nothing to do whatsoever with her personality. The carnal lust he exhibited put me off from his chapters.

LUCIEN
Certainly gentler than Dušan, but I can't say much about him because he was barely in the story, despite his being a part of the eventual harem.

I had a hard time getting into this one. It moved very fast and gave little information on the world so parts were confusing. The romance aspect also seemed very lacking and I didn't really see a connection between the heroine and anyone else. The cliffhanger did leave a lot of questions but I doubt I'll go back to this series.

Wolf shifted, fated mates, reverse harem.

What originally caught my attention is that it's a reverse harem with wolf shifters and, of course, fated mates! Really glad I started reading it.

I totally recommend Shadowland Sector if you love strong, independent main characters who are somehow special or unique. I love how Meira stands out from her kind (for better or for worse), and how distinct her relationship with each of her guys is. And despite the post-apocalyptic setting (not to mention the zombies), Shadowland Sector isn't all that dark (at least once you get past the opening scene). It's more of an adventure mixed with steamy reverse harem romance that you can't put down.

Not gonna lie, wasn't pleased with the cliffhanger, but I did love the men in this book and how fiercely protective they are, “sonofab***h!” A howl tears from my throat. “Lucien, let’s kill every mothereffing infected. Then, we’re claiming our mate.” I can't wait to see where the story leads.

There’s something so refreshing about a badass Omega that doesn’t fit the typical “submissive” role. Add in three hot af alphas and my little reverse harem loving heart is in heaven.

I’ve previously read books by Lexi C Foss that are also set in this particular Omegaverse and I must say that this book is an incredible start, and a great addition to, the verse.

Not gonna lie, I love that this is a zombie apocalypse trope. It's always fun to see a current or post-apocalyptic story that isn't dystopian in nature. It was easy to understand what happened, the problems that the shifters faced, and how a lone omega could have a warped view of shifter society.

Fantastic start to the series and I can't wait for more! Mind that cliff though! 🙊

An apocalyptic book like no other

The author knows how to pull you in from the first page, am I right? If you aren’t hooked from chapter one I can’t imagine that you enjoy books with adventure, intrigue, and a plot so amazingly written that I didn’t see it u til it was running me over! Love this book!

A surprisingly good new author to me😁

Andorra Sector started me off on my Zombie 2099 journey. Now admittedly, I don’t like Zombie stories but this is more about the shifters that live in a world of the infected and their interactions are minimal at times.....they do play a small background role❣️

That said, I was excited to find out more about the wolf shifter who escaped the shipment to Andorra Sector and I was pleasantly surprised to find another good, new to me, author👍 This book is the first in a series, so expect a cliffhanger - unlike me😂

I received an advanced copy and I voluntarily leave my honest review😍

Normally, I liked to be warned when I am going to be left in a cliff hanger. I did not expect it with this book. With that being said, I enjoyed this book, I just really hope the next book is out sooner than later.

Mila Young created a fascinating world in the Shadowlands sector, entwining some of the previous characters from our other books in the series if you have been following along. We got to see the other side of a phone call that had me smiling. It always thrills me to see previous characters.

The pictured painted in this book of how it is like in the sector and what life is like with the undead is easy to place yourself right along with the characters.

The Ash Pack has a great group of leading Alphas to keep our leading woman on the edge of her seat even if she did not want to be drawn to them. She has been independent for a very long time and does not want to be linked to anyone.

Dusan is a fierce leader and alpha of the Ash Pack, he has worked hard to better the life for his pack. But one night with Meira and he knew she was it for him. I loved that push and pull they had together.

Meira also had a pull towards to other alphas under Dusan. Lucien and Bardhyl are both drawn to Meira like nothing they have ever experienced before. But every time she was pulled towards someone the undead made an ugly appearance. I am curious about what will happen in this next book and what will become of Meira and her mates.

Interesting enough.
Different take on omegaverse
There’s knotting for those interested.

This is a rh novel and world building is set up nicely.
Dead wolves turn into infected shadow creatures setting the scene of a post apocalyptic universe.
I’m not 100% on the love interests tbh but maybe this will change.

I’m listening to the audio omnibus and am struggling between the two love interests names because the narrator pronounces them quite similarly. I’m guessing written they look a lot different.

I’m looking forward to seeing this mfc grow and woman up…. Here’s hoping.

To be honest I don’t even now why I picked up this book. I knew it was a mistake. I’m soooo over weak girls being a slave to their body and alpha males completely disrespecting someone’s wishes. What I hate most is when the first thing the heroine thinks after being captured is that her abductor is sexy and mysterious. What? What? I’m out don’t want to know.

I really enjoyed this book! Because who doesn't love a shifter romance that is also a reverse harem?

In this book we follow Meira, a strong and sassy Omega that has been running non stop from shadow monsters that pay her no mind but kill everyone around her. She has been a lone wolf since she was younger and still hasn't shifted into her wolf. But there is more to her then anyone realizes.

description

Then we have Dušan, the alpha of the ash wolves and feels a instant connection to Meira. He has not found his fated mate yet so could she be his?

description

Lucian is Dušan's third in command that has lost his fated mate so when Meira comes along and he starts feelings things for her he tries to stay away especially when his alpha also has an interest in her, but can he have her as well. He is super kind and gives off teddy bear vibes unless you cross him! :)

description

Bardhyl is Dušan's fourth and is also a man that Meira feels a connection to. so what is she to do when she has feelings for three shifters from the same clan?

description

I love the world building in this story and I can not wait to see where this goes! Mila young has such a way of interconnecting series without losing any details or characters along the way! I am not surprised that I am enjoying this series so far.
I love that even though the world is a dark and scary place for shifters that there is still hope and I am excited to see everyone get their HEA

I highly recommend this book! :) Check out tashie_leereads for my bookstagram! :)

Meira is a fighter, surviving on her own in the woods, away from all the packs seeking out females. Yet the day has come where she is captured by Dusan, the Alpha of the Ash Wolves and he takes a personal interest in her. Yet she believes she's a monster. Since she hasn't had her first transformation, it means her wolf is going to be feral and kill everything on sight. She can't let that happen. Bonding might save her, but she doesn't know what is more dangerous: the undead that wander the world or her broken wolf.

What an awesome start to this RH paranormal series. Meira is a survivor and earns my respect from the start. Yet there's a secret churning inside of her, and she might not even know what it is herself. The tension between her and Dusan, and with Lucien, is steamy. It had me clicking through the pages eager for more. I love the addition of zombies to a world already taken over by werewolves. A bit of chaos that we don't know where it's going to go. It does end in a cliffhanger, but I'm begging for some more!

I'm so excited! I didn't realize this was a spin off from a previous Zombie Year 2099 book! I was intrigued from the small snippets we got from Andorra Sector and I'm so glad we get a look into the flip side.

Meira is one badass. She has been on her own for so long while going through a horrible sickness. I loved her determination to be free, but I also loved that she gave in to the connections she felt. Dušan while he comes off a bit cold hearted at first, you learn he's a very great Alpha. He cares for his people and he cares for Meira. Lucien is still a little mystery to me, but I enjoyed what we got to know of him. He has a really big heart for an Alpha.

I'm dying to know what happens next and can't wait to find out!

I loved this book... I'm obsessed with all things Zombie Year 2099'... I've been anxiously awaiting Shadowlands Sector after finishing the Andorra Sector and Mila Young did not disappoint! From beginning to end I was hooked by Meira and her journey. There was so much supernatural goodness, lots of secrets, twists and turns and THAT ENDING! I may or may not have launched my kindle clear across the room! & I regret nothing because this book was SO GOOD! Honestly, this was my first read from Mila Young but it most definitely won't be my last. I will definitely be doing some binge reading while I anxiously/impatiently wait for book two. ❤️

This is a new author to me and I definitely will be reading more of her work! This book is suspenseful and intriguing and I just couldn’t put it down. From the beginning I was obsessed with Meira’s journey. She is all alone when she goes through her sickness and my heart breaks for her but I adore her determination to be free. She meets Dusan and as they say the rest is history, or not. Meira has this strong pull towards Dusan, but she also feels it with the two alphas under him Lucien and Bardhyl. Everyone knows three alphas can’t claim one female, can they? This story is full of suspense and intrigue and I can’t wait for the next installment of the series!! Hopefully the answers to all of the unanswered questions and this book will be answered and subsequent stories.

Another incredible RH story from Mila! I was a bit apprehensive with this one, as I'm not fond of zombie themed books/movies, but I was still excited to read it. Turns out I had nothing to worry about. While the story is set in a post-apocalyptic world, where zombies currently reign supreme, it is in fact a shifter story while the zombies are largely in the background. And what steaming hhhhhhot shifters they are! If you like fated mates, kickass FMC's, hot alphas with primal instincts, secrets, mystery, betrayal and the possibility of death from every angle, then this is definitely a story for you. First in the series, an absolute page-turner, Shadowlands kicks off what promises to be an awesome series.

In this dystopia novel, Meria is a half-wolf. She needs to keep this a secret otherwise the other wolves will kill her. Moreover women are getting kidnapped and sent to different clans to find their mates. Meira gets kidnapped twice, with the second time being the leader of the Ash Wolves who kidnap her. Not having the chance to escape anymore, she needs to find a way to survive, especially if they find out what she is, and if her other secret comes to light too, Meira will be in for a lot of troubles and pain.

I thought it was a quick read, but it didn't leave me wanting to find out what happens next.

Having read Andorra Sector by Lexi C. Foss which is set in the same universe as Shadowlands Sector, I was more than happy to read this book.

I was really intrigued to find out about Dusan, Meira and the rest of the Ash Wolves. Having seen a snippet mentioned in Andorra Sector, I couldn’t wait to find out what they were going to get up to when given their own story. and this author did them justice.

There was chemistry, intrigue, tension and great world-building. From the very first chapter, i was hooked.

Not liking the cliff-hanger but I was forewarned about this in the blurb so expected it. Very much looking forward to the next instalment.

After being introduced to Dusan and Mad in Lexi C. Foss’s “Andorra Sector” I knew I had to read Shadowland Sector. I had to see what the wolf who caught the stern Alpha’s eye would be like. Meira is a spitfire, but hiding from the world and adept at avoiding the undead who roam the woods she calls home. After escaping the plane set to take her to Andorra Sector, Dusan sets out to find her. Her escape, after all, puts his trade deal with Andorra Sector in jeopardy. The second his wolf scents hers, however, he’s intrigued and he begins to realize he can’t send her to another sector.

Something is different about Meira, though, and she’s caught the eye of not only Dusan, but also a couple of his most trusted advisors. Alphas don’t share… Or do they? The story drew me in and kept me reading. Now I’m in a book hangover and in need of book 2 like yesterday, because that cliffhanger… Holy heck, I need to know what happens!

I saw this book over on TikTok and was intrigued. To be quite honest, this is something that I don't really turn to and I don't really know how I feel. It was a quick and easy read and it allowed me to dip my toes in this genre of writing/storytelling. As of right now, I don't see myself picking up the second book, but maybe in the future.
