It’s been months since Jonathan Toews has met the public eye — not since the end of the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs have we seen the Chicago Blackhawks Captain around the team in any way. After citing an unspecified illness back in December, he was kept out of training camp and has not been with the team yet this season.
But on Tuesday night, Jonathan Toews showed up for his long-time teammate and friend Patrick Kane.

A sight for sore eyes, eh?
Great to see Toews after he has been away from the team for so long. The cloud of uncertainty surrounding him and his health won’t be lifted with this one video, but it’s just refreshing to see him looking and sounding healthy.
Toews would be next in line to play 1,000 games with the Blackhawks after Kane, having played 943 career regular season games with the Blackhawks.
Toews ends his video message to Kane by saying, “Wish I was there to celebrate with ya. See you soon, man.”
