The Chicago Fire will host the New England Revolution in its 2021 home opener at Soldier Field on Saturday, April 17, Major League Soccer announced today.

The match kicks off at 7:30 p.m. CT, and will be broadcast live on WGN-TV and Univision Radio Chicago. As of right now, there’s no official word on whether fans will be allowed to attend, but the Fire have said the club is in contact with Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s office about making it happen. Both of the city’s Major League Baseball teams have already been cleared to host fans in a limited capacity, and the Fire hope to announce plans for fans to safely attend soon.

As of right now, the Fire do not have a streaming partner. The club’s deal with ESPN+ ran out last season. The Fire are working on a new deal to stream matches, but nothing has been finalized just yet.

Also, MLS announced the Fire will play its first away game of the season against Atlanta United FC at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Saturday, April 24. That match will kick off at 7 p.m. CT, and will also be on WGN-TV and Univision Radio Chicago.

The club will air a 30 minute season opening special, called, “Make No Little Plans: Chicago Fire FC 2021 Season Preview,” beginning at 7 p.m., before the home opener kicks off.

The rest of the MLS schedule will be announced in the coming weeks.
