Dear NU community!
We invite all chess fans to take part in the NU Chess Tournament as part of a week of events dedicated to Nauryz, which will be held on March 19:

- Student chess club (NU chess club)
Top places:
1st place –KZT 50 thousand.
2nd place –KZT 30 thousand.
3rd place –KZT 20 thousand.
In addition, participants will be awarded with prizes and souvenirs from Nazarbayev University:
- three best results among men
- three best results among women
- three best results among children up to 8 years old (inclusive)
- three best results among children from 9 to 12 years old (inclusive)
- three best results among children from 13 to 16 years old (inclusive).
Registration of participants and direct conduct of competition on the
lichess.org platform is provided by the Panel of Judges headed by the Chief Judge of competition.
The competition will take place on 19.03.2021 at 2:00 PM Nur-Sultan time among all members of the Nazarbayev University community (students, alumni, employees, faculty and campus residents), as well as children of the NU community members.
Registration deadline - no later than 6 p.m. on March 17, 2021
After completing the google form, participants shall register on the
lichess.org gaming platform and join the relevant club (information will be sent additionally). When registering on the
lichess.org platform, each participant shall have an official login that matches the last name and first name (for example, Amanov_Serik), or username with the last name and first name in profile. Tournament will take place on the lichess gaming platform in 9 rounds according to the Swiss system. Time control - 3 minutes + 2 seconds per turn for each participant until the end of the game.
