Michigan for the Winter

Rate this book
From bestselling author, Dr. Rebecca Sharp, comes a heartwarming and hilarious standalone romantic comedy...

Ryan Finan needed a change of scene.
No more warmth. No more wooing. No more women.
Needing to get over what the last woman did to him, he’s fled to Michigan for the winter.

A secluded cabin, a wood stove, a bottle of scotch, and guaranteed solitude are all he needs… until Winna Madden recklessly collides into his path—and other parts of him. With her fresh beauty, captivating awkwardness, and far too much talk of freshly jerked meat, Ryan struggles to give his temporary neighbor a necessary cold shoulder.

Having lived in this neck of the woods all her life, Winna knows the gorgeous recluse isn’t prepared for a Michigan winter—nor for the kinds of harsh truths it brings. She’s determined to be a good neighbor—no matter how much he grouses.

As temperatures plunge, their walls tumble down faster than the snow. Soon, the only thing left is a wild desire burning between them.
But Ryan’s stay always had an expiration date. When it arrives, will he walk away? Or will the warmth he found with Winna tempt him to stay?

Part of the Country Love Collection - https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1...

Michigan for the Winter is another installment in the Country Love Collection by Dr. Rebecca Sharp. This story is based on the song by Ryan Hurd, if you listen to Country Music you may have heard this song before...I have not and didn't listen to it until I finished reading the book.

Ryan Finan has just sold his Tech Company and broken up with his longtime girlfriend so he decides a change in scenery is needed and rents a cabin in Michigan to work through everything and figure out his next move.

Winna Madison isn't the typical woman Ryan comes into contact with. I have to say I enjoyed Winna a lot, it's not often I read about a Tomboy in romance novels so she isn't your typical heroine and that was just fine with me. Winna was raised by her dad and four "uncles" after her mother died very early in Winna's life. They taught her all the things she would need to know to survive the winters and life itself in Michigan, but nothing on what it is to be a girly-girl.

Ryan and Winna's first meeting had me laughing out loud. Winna is a bit clumsy and adorably awkward as we witness in a few of the other meetings, but little by little she breaks down Ryan's walls.

I know I am in the minority with my rating and that's okay because everyone feels books differently. I enjoyed reading Ryan and Winna's story and found myself laughing out loud a few times but I just didn't feel the chemistry between the two characters, and I honestly don't know why. I would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys RomComs, don't let my rating deter you because you may absolutely love this book like so many others have.

Happy Reading!!!

This was a cute story that was quite enjoyable! I loved that the story it had a strong and independent female character that was not like any other female that I have read about, so that was really a nice change. We saw Winna as an awkward character who was full of fire and spice, and she did not have one shy bone in her body, and we found and her quite refreshing and a lot of fun. God did Winna make us laugh!

Ryan is struggling with his emotions, and he is brutey and sexy and wants to drown his sorrows in Scotch but, a sexy waif is constantly on his mind. Chemistry galore between these characters. For a couple of characters who seem to have nothing in common end up having more in common than either of them realize. Together or separate, these characters made us laugh and smile throughout the entire story.

Michigan for the Winter is such a cute, funny, easy read! Winna is funny, quirky and so awkward sometimes. Ryan is brooding and gruff. They’re explosive together. It’s a beautiful little story and it really highlights how beautiful winter can be. Plus I want all the food, they sound delicious!

Ryan has come to the wilds of Michigan to find some peace, to get away from the ruins of his relationship, and to contemplate his life now that he's sold his company. He meets tomboy, awkward tomboy, Winna, his first day there, and his life is not the same thereafter. Will the quirky Winna win the heart of the city boy?

Winna is different. She was raised by men. To be strong and independent, definitely, but she has no basis of relationships and men in a romantic relationship, so when she meets a gorgeous city boy, she's even more awkward than usual. She's fascinated by him, though, and renting a cabin to him, so you know she's going to end up being around him a lot. She knows he's not here permanently, but she'll end up taking as much of him as he's willing to give her. She just has to hope it won't end up with her heart in tatters.

I've loved everything I've read by this author, and I can happily say Michigan for the Winter is not an exception. It's so sweet and fun and quirky, and Ryan and Winna have serious chemistry and are quite adorable together. The secondary cast is just as wonderful, especially Winna's Uncle Kurt. Altogether an excellent rom-com.

5 Star Review Michigan For The Winter by Dr Rebecca Sharp

I have only read a copy of books by Rebecca Sharp but each book has been well written. Michigan For The Winter is a fun read that kept me invested from the first to the last chapter in this heart warming story.
This is Ryan Finan and Winna Madden’s story which was entertaining. What could be a better setting than a secluded cabin, a wood stove and lots of snow? Just the sound of it had me wanting to snuggle under a blanket with a glass of wine in hand.
Ryan was such a broody hero that he ticked the boxes for me. I loved Winna, she was such a fun leading lady. Only in Michigan temporarily, what happens when the chemistry and tension that build between them explodes? Will he walk away when it is time for him to leave?
The writing was descriptive and I could easily picture myself surrounded by the Michigan snow. The banter between them was witty and had me laughing out loud on numerous occasions.

4.5 Stars for Michigan for the Winter
If you are looking for a fun, entertaining, heartfelt romance look no further than this great read.
Dr. Rebecca Sharp is a relatively new author to me but with each book I pick up I’m left thinking I need to read more by this very talented author and this book left me wanting more.
Ryan Finan needs a chance of pace, he needs to get away and try and out his life back together so what better than a secluded cabin, a bottle a scotch and a wood stove to give him time to think. What he didn’t expect was a blonde wood nymph named Winna Madden crashing his solitude, especially as she gets parts of him moving that shouldn’t be moving......
Winna owns the cabin Ryan has rented and she is doing her utmost to make him comfortable, even if he doesn’t want her help.....
I fell in love with Winna, I loved this quirky, crazy, I don’t stand for no nonsense woman and I loved how she stood up to the man determined to send her on her way. It took me a while to warm up to Ryan but once I did I needed my fan to hand because this man went from broody to scorching hot over night. This entertaining read ticked all my boxes, I laughed, I giggled, I swooned and I sighed as I joined this couple on their journey through the snow. Great read and I highly recommend this gem.

With the country currently buried under snow comes this charming romance of instant attraction as two very different people find things heating up the more time they spend together. Readers will quickly find themselves captivated by this easily relatable couple and appreciating the low angst interactions that put a smile on my face. From the first page to the last this was an enjoyable book, one to read by the fireplace while wrapped up in a story that felt like a warm embrace.

Staying in a secluded cabin in the snowy wilds of Michigan seems like the perfect place for Ryan Finan to get a break from the world. With the recent sale of his company, and a painful end to his long term relationship, he needs time to heal. He's feeling lost and uncertain and just wants to be left alone, but it's not long before a sassy and strong-willed woman lands on his doorstep. Sparks are the immediate result in a relationship that's slowly ticking down to his leaving and that has both of them deciding what they truly want before time's up. Ryan wasn't the nicest person early on, licking his wounds while trying to decide what he wants out of life. Meeting Winna though saw him start to come back to life. She lit a fire within him that helped dissolve his brooding and gruff demeanor which made for sexy and combustible interactions between them as the story progressed. With each turn of the page I started falling for him and the carefree moments he brought to Winna's life.

Winna Madden's a breath of fresh air among heroines. Growing up under the tutelage of her dad and uncle taught her independence and how to live off the land. She's a woman who can clearly take care of herself and she's just what Ryan needs while living in her secluded cabin...both physically and emotionally. Winna's a delightful heroine, sweet and sassy with a heart of gold, and she slowly worked her way into his heart and mind. In scenes that were both funny and flirtatious a bond was slowly built that soon turned combustible as both brought what was missing to the other's life.

This was a sweet and sexy story with an appealing couple whose road to romance was an endearing one. These two opposites couldn't have been more perfect for one another in a gentle story that made me smile while warming my heart. It's the perfect read for those struggling through the inclement weather now occurring as I felt warmed inside and out by Dr. Sharp's romantic storytelling.

My actual rating is 4.5 Stars.

This is the second book I’ve read by this super talented author, and after both I’ve wanted to download her back catalogue. The first time I didn’t, but I won’t make that mistake again!

Ryan Finan is a very rich man after selling his business, but after his fiancé leaves him for his business partner, he decides to head to the last place on earth she’d expect him to go, to lick his wounds. Where better than Michigan for the Winter to a secluded cabin with bottles of scotch and nothing else.

When Ryan’s peace and quiet is disturbed by a crazy, clumsy, blonde, his anger is instantly ignited. Ryan soon realises it’s not just anger he feels for Winna, but by the time he gets his act together, it might be too late.

Winna Madden was raised by 4 mountain men, she hunts and butchers her own meat, living a very sheltered life in a small town. Winna’s obsession with spaghetti-o’s sends her crashing onto Ryan’s radar, literally. Winna also happens to own the cabin Ryan’s rented. After getting off on the wrong foot she goes out of her way to help him and provide him with supplies, even if he doesn’t want it. Winna’s instantly attracted to the city slicker who is totally unprepared for a Michigan snow storm, but when he pushes her away one too many times, Winna might just get the hint and stay away.

Winna is awesome, I fell in love with her, she’s sweet, clumsy and has a soft heart but also knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to go for it, even when what she wants is a grumpy, rude man that keeps telling her to leave him alone.
I didn’t like Ryan to begin with. It took me quite a while to warm up to him, around about the time he started to let Winna in. Once he stopped acting like a jerk (when you read this sweet romance you’ll get the significance here) I was all in on their relationship, rooting for them to make it, even though they were from worlds apart.

This sweet romance has everything, I laughed, swooned, had tears in my eyes and fell in love with this couple and their happily ever after. I highly recommend grabbing a hot chocolate and snuggling up to immerse yourself in this winter wonderland.

This was a great, fairly quick read.

"Winna. Even though I didn't say it out loud, her name rolled around like whiskey on my tongue. Smooth. Potent. And intoxicating, if I wasn't careful."

Ryan Finan has come to the middle of nowhere to escape his life and find oblivion in a bottle of scotch. However, his stunning, intriguing neighbour keeps intruding into his space and his thoughts, until she is all he can see.

"The burn of his lips when they touched mine was like a burn of the most intense kind."

Winter AKA Winna Madden was raised by her dad and three honorary uncles. She's beautiful, wild and direct. The way she lives provides her with everything she needs... until the grouchy city slicker shows her another aspect of life that she hasn't experienced yet.

"When I was in front of her, I couldn't stop staring. I couldn't stop looking deeper. And I couldn't stop the way she gently melted right through all the walls I'd come here to hide behind."

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It was funny, so sexy, and meaningful. Ryan and Winna were complete opposites in their lifestyles and what they valued. Ryan had had the rug pulled from under him - when he should have been feeling on top of the world, instead he was suddenly without purpose. He had all the worldly life experience but Winna showed him how to really live and value life. I loved the simplicity of her life and viewpoint on what really mattered. In turn, I loved that Ryan brought passion into Winna's life - the air always seemed to crackle between them. Honestly, she lived so remotely that you have to wonder how she would have ever found a guy to share her life with. Together, they were hot and wild, and I loved the conclusion.

I have been looking forward to Michigan for the Winter since it was announced because I have loved Rebecca Sharp’s Country Love rom-com series. This one is good, but not great. I went into the first couple of chapters with a great feeling. I thought their meet-cute was hilarious and set up for some really awkward and hilarious moments in the next few pages. However, by the end of the book I felt a little bit let down. Winna is a strong, independent heroine who is 100% sure of her life, and has no qualms about living her life in the way that she does. She was raised by a single dad and her “uncles” to live simply. But she is not simple by any means. She is a smart, well educated woman who leads her life exactly as she wants without anything extra. She has all she needs and wants. Ryan just sold his company, broke up with his girlfriend, and wants to hide. I had high hopes that he would turn out to be this amazing hero, but he fell flat for me. He was so focused on getting to the top, that once he was there, he couldn’t handle the drop. He continually calls Winna “wild”, but truly the only wild thing about her was the fact that she lived partially off the land. She wasn’t wild, she was centered. Thankfully for me, he finally comes around in the last few pages of the book, and we see that transformation more in the epilogue, but overall I wasn’t a big fan of Ryan. I had to give this one 3 stars, partially because I had really high hopes coming in, and mainly because Ryan took a big chunk of the book to become the man that Winna truly needed.

3.5 stars for this one, I seem to be in the minority here so I urge you to read this one if you like low angst novellas with a love at first sight "ish" feel.

Ryan has come to a remote cabin in Michigan following the sale of his tech company and the failure of his long term relationship. He just wants to be alone for a while to think. He also is "off" women right now. Too bad as soon as he comes into town he meets Winna. Instantly, he is drawn to her, but it is terrible timing because he is in no place for a relationship. As she invades his cabin though, she also begins to invade his heart.

Winna is a tomboy at heart. Being raised by so many men has her struggling on the relationship front. She is clumsy in front of Ryan and she can't seem to find her footing when he is around. She gets flustered and he finds it endearing. He thinks of her as "wild" and he likes that about her. She knows that Ryan is only there for a short amount of time but the attraction is there for both of them so why not go for it?

This book seemed to have all of the things I love, but it missed the mark for me. Ryan was broody and Willa was a strong heroine, which I usually love, but I felt something missing between the two of them. If you are looking for a cute fluffy read, this book is your book. Again, I am probably in the minority here so I think if these things tick your boxes you will enjoy this one. Unfortunately, it didn't feel real to me, and the fact that he kept referring to her as "wild" kind of made me upset. She's a normal girl and educated just like he was; because she wasn't made up constantly and prissy doesn't make a girl wild, it just makes her normal.

What a wonderful, emotional, sexy, breathtaking romance set against a winter backdrop. The story did end around 75% on my Kindle with chapters from an upcoming book filling the rest of the download, so I would consider this in between a novella and a short romance.

Ryan and Winna were amazing. Ryan, recently scorned in a relationship and newly released from his company as a billionaire, was a prick at first. Drowning his pain and self-torment in booze, he wasn't the nicest person. But sweet, wild Winna weasels her way into his life and heart with her clumsiness and unending wisdom about what life really means.

This was a truly beautiful story. There were some hot AF scenes in this book. The passion was INSANE. Lots of laugh out loud moments and yea, I swooned quite a bit. The angst was low but the emotions high.

This is a perfect feel good story for a cold, winter's day.

A fun loving, fast paced book that is perfect for curling up next to the fireplace with a nice glass of wine.

Winna is the perfect representation of a true Michigan girl. Her love for her state, her way of life, and the disbelief that anyone would chose to come to 'vacation' in Michigan especially in Winter and the Northern part, is seriously the truest thing every Michigander thinks. Plus, Winna is hilarious!! I laughed almost the entire book because of her crazy antics.

Another great read in the Country Love series.

Fun, lighthearted, steamy and with zero angst. This is a really lovely read from Rebecca Sharp.
Winna is a quirky, independent young lady with no filter.... having been raised to work the land by her father and uncles she is unapologetically wild and very caring.
Ryan is a city slicker who’s life has derailed.... he heads to Michigan in the dead of winter to lick his wounds and re-evaluate his life..... what he hadn’t bargained for was the snow blizzard that is Winna and her simple, yet fulfilling way of life to totally captivated him... almost as much as the woman herself does.

A sweet and heartwarming read that is perfect for this time of year. I love this author’s stories because she always incorporates a lot of emotion and personality into each and every character. Ryan and Winter are two of these characters and their heat will help you stay warm on these colder days. A great addition to the Country Love Series and I’m looking forward to hopefully many more of them.

Ryan just sold his company for a lot of money and just ended his long term relationship for good. He wants to get away from everyone and everything so he rented a cabin in Michigan. Winna is a fierce independent woman who shots her own deer and makes and sells the jerky. She also makes a mean venison spaghetti-O casserole! Winna is renting out her cabin to Ryan and the sparks are flying between these two. This was a really cute quick read. There was great chemistry and funny banter. As a wife and mother of bow hunters I found Some of the scenes relatable and entertaining.

Nothing like a strong storm to show us what we need in life! Add in a quirky, independent woman and well you’re in for a ride!!

Ryan and Winna are equal parts angsty and hilarious! From their not so meet cute to her no nonsense attitude they were an explosion of emotion waiting to happen and I loved every second of it!

I loved the uniqueness of their story! I don’t think I have met a heroine so independent as Winna! What I loved most though is she wasn’t all rough edges! She had a heart of gold filled with so much love to give! Her and Ryan were breath taking and I absolutely loved their story!

Another great little edition to this collection of books by Rebecca Sharp.
Sweet,Cute Romantic and the signature sexiness that Rebecca is known for and I really enjoyed it.
Ryan and Winna are funny, angsty and so hot together and they are an ideal match.
Ryan has been burned by a past relationship and wants to be alone, hiding away in Michigan, but no such luck when delectable and quirky Winna inserts herself into his life, turning it upside down.
I was charmed by Ryan and Winna and it was such a delight to read and a perfect story to be entertained by on these cold winter nights with a cup of Hot chocloate...Which is the way I devoured this book, and it warmed my insides and I loved it.
A wonderful and adorable tale of Love in Michigan.

Ryan Finan’s life just imploded, and his future looks about as bleak as the winter landscape surrounding this secluded cabin, where he’s decided to hide out and regroup for a while. After he gets rip-roaring drunk, of course. Winna Madden can’t help but worry about this sexy new visitor to her small town. He’s a newbie to the harsh winters Michigan can dish out. And he just so happens to be renting that secluded cabin from her. After a less than stellar first (and second and third) impression, will he let her in or keep her locked out just like the rest of the world?

Can I just say that I quite simply adored Winna? I mean, she’s as tough and self-sufficient as they come, but she also has this huge heart that’s easily bruised. Raised by her father and “uncles,” she’s no girly girl. And she has no idea how beautiful she really is. Despite how growly and rude Ryan is initially, she’s tough, sassy, and snarky enough that she doesn’t allow him to walk all over her. Deep down, Ryan isn’t really the heartless jerk he wants everyone to believe he is. Hes a generous, giving man whose world was just decimated by the two people he trusted the most. And their chemistry is off the charts.

I realize that right about now (Feb. 2021), most of the country is probably sick and tired of this brutal winter. Despite most everyone’s distaste for all things snow and ice related, I promise that this is a book that you do not want to miss. A sassy, snarky rom-com is just what the doctor ordered! Michigan for the Winter is chocked full of laugh-out-loud moments as well as some genuinely emotional moments. And, of course, some pretty sexy and swoony scenes! Ryan and Winna’s journey to their HEA will keep you turning page after page, not wanting to put the book down until you’ve devoured every hilarious, crazy, swoony, sexy moment.

NICUnurse’s Rating: I give Michigan for the Winter by Dr. Rebecca Sharp 5 out of 5 stars!

Ryan needs a change after selling his business and learning about his ex-girlfriend and best friend/business partner. He heads to Michigan for a month to get away from everything, including women. Heading to a secluded cabin is his perfect escape until a snow nymph named Winna crashes into his life like a force to be reckoned with.

Ryan and Winna's story was a fun and entertaining story. Winna really was a force to be reckoned with and I loved how she was able to tame the wild city boy. Chewie was an adorable little pest of a pup. I laughed to the point of tears at the beginning but did find the middle of the book to be a little slow. The chemistry between Ryan and Winna was hot enough to keep you warm during a snow storm. Looking forward to more books by Dr. Rebecca Sharp.

Let’s talk about “Michigan For The Winter by Rebecca Sharp”.
💙
Rebecca ha easily become one of my go-to author, she has a little of everything and is a wonderful writer. With this series, the Country Love, she always delivery a heartwarming, funny, loving and it seems a bit more steamier than the last book. Do you know that every book in this series is based in a country song? Most of them I don’t know, but every time I listen to the song before I start reading, so I can get in the vibe.

Needing a change of pace and new beginning in his life, Ryan moves to Michigan after broke up with his girlfriend and selling his tech company. Nothing like a secluded cabin and a bottle of scotch couldn’t help, oh and swear off woman. Who would have thought that he just rented the cabin from his opposite Winna Madden? I love Winna, she wasn’t your normal heroine, she had a foot in the tomboy side but yet I loved her strength, crazy personality, her clumsy side and also how she wouldn’t be put down by a man, she almost had a no nonsense rule! I want to be friends with her.

I super enjoyed their banter and I laughed out loud with how they met for the first time. Gold. Although I had an instantly love for her, Ryan took some time to fall to my grace. But eventually he did and they made a crazy awesome couple, they went 8 to 80 in the steamy section and I was so here for it, Winna’s awkward comments were a highlight! I had a good surprise in the end and I love it! Can’t wait to read more in this series.

This was a fun one! I knew I wanted to read it based on the title since I'm a Michigander. And it was set near my grandparent's town so I knew exactly where they were, which was a fun connection. This is my second Rebecca Sharp book, and I liked the writing of this one better. Still not my favorite style, but I definitely enjoyed this. There were some cheesy moments (hello Frozen style shopkeeper) but overall this was a good, fun story with a lot of heat and heart.
Winna is a great character, with lots of strength and quirks. She was raised by her dad and his best friends and has the quirks that come with it. I liked that she was pretty fearless and went after what she wanted.
Ryan is a tech billionaire trying to start over after selling his company and losing his girlfriend. He picks the remote Michigan north for his change of pace. And it was fun to see him so very out of place in the north woods town. I think any northerner will relate to laughing at a southern city guy's attempts to brave a harsh winter.
This was definitely a fast-paced love story, and things get going rather quickly. I think I would have liked a little more time for tension and chemistry to build with Ryan and Winna. It would have made me more invested in their relationship.
Overall, this was a fun and quick read! I think romcom fans will enjoy this one! It has me hooked enough that I want to go grab the rest of the Country Love stories and read them all too!

Ryan Finan's life has imploded, so he's come to Michigan for the winter to get his head on straight for the most part. He's in a cabin in a remote area with his scotch which is why I used for the most part. Little did he know that his stay would change his life again, and maybe just maybe this time, for the better. Winna Madden has an overprotective family of men in her life, so dating has been more challenging for her than most. She's a simple girl who marches to the beat of her own drum, but don't let that fool you, she's very smart & educated. Her awkwardness when she comes across Ryan is fun, and had me laughing more than once so there's humor in the pages. There are also heartwarming moments that this author adds in her stories so effortlessly. However, there's one big issue I had and I don't say it lightly because I'm a HUGE fan of Dr. Sharp, but Ryan wasn't my cup of tea. In my eyes, he just didn't do it for me with the way he kept using wild when it came to Winna. I'm not sure why, but it just rubbed me wrong because he kept doing it. Anyway, this is only my opinion, and I will say you can't go wrong with this author so decide for yourselves by hitting those one click buttons! HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Wow... Rebecca Sharp did a phenomenal job with this incredible story!
I’ll start off by saying that I absolutely loved this book. I’ve been a fan of Rebecca’s romances for quite a while now and she did not disappoint with this story. I was so impressed by how Rebecca was able to write such a deep, sexy and obsession worthy romance. I think this is some of her best work to date! It’s deep and emotional and has All. The. Feels!
Ryan and Winna are both strong characters in their own right, as well as a perfect pair when put together. They complement each other so perfectly! Rebecca Sharp has once again created two lovely characters for her readers to swoon over.
I don’t want to give any spoilers so I will finish by saying this: “Michigan For The Winter” is fantastic and I HIGHLY recommend giving this story a chance! I’m sure that you will be just as enthralled with Ryan and Winna’s story as I was!
I can’t wait to read more stories from Rebecca Sharp in the future. 10/10, 5 star rating from me! 👌🏻👍🏻❤️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Michigan For The Winter is the latest addition to Rebecca Sharp's Country Love Collection of books. It was a cute, quirky and entertaining neighbors romance between Ryan -- who escapes his latest relationship by hiding out in snowy Michigan of all places -- and the local sweetheart, Winna. He is all kinds of broody, she is all kinds of fiery, independent sunshine. Albeit a bit awkward. There is an instant attraction and instalove between Ryan and Winna, despite them knowing that their relationship has an expiration date when he leaves at the end of the month.

I found this book to be well written, but it was just lacking that page-turner quality for me that makes the difference between 3 and 4 stars. It was just missing something for me; I liked it but didn't love it. Ryan ticks all the boxes for a broody hero, and Winna is a great independent, strong, take-no-BS heroine. If you want an easy read, low-angst, opposites-attract romcom, then Michigan For The Winter is going to be right up your alley.

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

This book was a surprise for me. I am from Michigan so of course I HAD to read it. I have never heard of Ms Sharp or her books before, so I went in blind. I was pleasantly surprised.

Ryan is what we could say a corporate snob in sorts. He worked hard to make his business successful and a great life for his then girlfriend. Once he came up for air, he noticed there was something completely wrong with his life and took a trip up to Michigan to seclude and forget.

Winna is described as “wild” throughout the book. Which I think it’s a metaphor for her spirit. Nothing can tame her spirit, she’s free and doesn’t depend on anyone but herself. When she meets Ryan it all goes south….literally. They don’t hit it off because Ryan is in this horrible mind space but will he snap out of it?

I really enjoyed this story and am intrigued what else Ms Sharp has out there!! I loved the banter between these two and I REALLY loved Chewy!

This was what I needed, a quick fix of rom-com from Rebecca Sharp. It is a really fun, quirky and lighthearted read. I read it within a few hours, totally devoured Winna and Ryan's story.

Ryan rents a cabin in the middle of nowhere Michigan to escape and look for solitude. His first encounter with Winna didn't go well exactly. She was definitely not what he needed at the time. And he is definitely not thrilled to discover she owns the cabin he is renting and will be his neighbor. But Winna is one persistent lady even though being alone is all he wants.

The chemistry between these two is explosive and undeniable! Ryan is a gruff and broody guy, while Winna is quirky, blunt and awkward woman. As they get to know each other, their attraction grows. But how long would their bubble last? This is a beautifully written, heartwarming story with witty banter throughout.

Ryan needs to get away after selling his company and finding out the betrayal of his girl he's needing a place to just be him and find peace. He chooses a small town in Michigan in the dead of winter. All he wants to do is get to the rented cabin, but when he can't find it he stops and asks for directions. What he doesn't plan on his cans of SpeggettiOs getting in the way. Winna has been cared for by her dad and uncles, all she knows is the outdoors and how to hunt, kill, and survive. What she doesn't do are men and their sexiness. Ryan and Winna have an attraction for sure, but it's Ryan who puts the breaks on. However, Winna man I loved her she just keeps pushing, but there is an end date in sight. Can these two learn and grow with each other in ways neither of them expected? Or will Ryan leave when the time comes? Fall in the cold with Ryan and Winna a go-along for the fun ride.

Omg, this book was cute, cute, cute!

First, let me tell you, I am a mid-western girl, not Michigan, but for the most part same type of culture. Dr. Rebecca Sharp nailed this heroine. Winna was just everything for me. Yes, her character is overdramatized a bit, but a lot of her was so spot on. I was laughing, nodding my head because of the truth in her character.

I loved that Winna was raised by her Dad and his three best friends. Think of the old movie 3 Men and a Baby but with a wilderness twist. I love that she's independent but in a live off the land type of way. She's so clear about her thoughts and her wants. I just thought she was a great heroine.

Mighigan for the Winter is an easy, fun, leave you smiling read. I couldn't help but instantly fall in love with the characters and story. It was a perfect read for a cold mid-western day!
