Meet Everette Ramses known as Rett ...
An extremely powerful guy who knows what he wants , takes what he wants ..
He resides in New Orleans where life changes from the day to the night just like light and dark, very dark indeed !
Emma is who he wants he needs to protect her but will she submit to him ?
This first book has completely drawn me into all the mystery, the lies and maybe truth. Now I need the second book to know what is happening, is it the truth or what ?
Lives will be lost , some will unite ..
There is passion , deliciousness of passion with a side serve of lust ...
Such mystery and many twists and turns make this a fabulous read...
Again Aleatha writes an incredible story .
Book two Devil's Deal takes us to the heart of New Orleans, where Rhett is classed as King and he wants Emma to be his Queen.
I can't tell you how much I was drawn into this story and world. The secrets, the intrigue, the suspense, the lies, the betrayal, the lust and steam, and of course the super quirky housekeeper that can talk to spirits had me captivated and devouring every word in one sitting.
I reached those dreaded two words 'The End' and like any good duet I was left with my mouth wide open thinking WTH just happened.
I'm now desperate and excited for Book 2!!!
It was really slow and really not much happened.
I will read the last book in order to make a final judgement on this book but so far, it's not really something that I would read again.
These stories are not for me. Just my opinion.

It starts off with numerous questions to be answered and as you go along, you feel like the answers are being answered.
It's a slow leisurely pace and you can feel the pull between Emma and Rett, all the while getting stronger.
All along he insists he's keeping her safe, from the brother she thought to have died, when their parents had died four years earlier.
The truth becomes apparent, when she suddenly finds an opportunity to run and so run she did. When she finally gets out she finds her way to Retts neighbour. What happens there brings terror she never expected.
When Rett finally finds her, she is no longer under any illusions as to the safety Rett brings her. After a month Rett finally tells her they are to marry within the hour!!
After a sweet ceremony they move to Retts office to sign the marriage licence and that's where things suddenly happen!!
To find out what though, you'll need to buy the book and read for yourself. While you do that, buy the audio too.
This book is narrated by two people I've never come across before.
Kelli Tager reads the parts for emma, whereas Conner Goff reads the parts for Rett.
Kelli has a great vocal range and had a different voice for every single character. Which makes it a real shame that I've not had the chance to hear her narrate before. But I will keep a look out for her in the future.
Conner's range isn't as diverse as kelli's, but he still manages to make each character known by slight changes.
When it comes to the book and audio, you really need to buy both, as they really make each character come to life and makes the enjoyment of this book, one of the best I've listened to in quite a while.
I'm usually a little nervous when it's names I've never come across in the past but, Kelli especially, these are definitely worth the cost. I'm really excited for the next book 🙉🙉

This is a very interesting story. It takes place in New Orleans, a land where history is long, ghosts haunt, vodoo is practiced and the inexplicable abounds. So, of course, this opens with a very gothic feel, dark, haunting and mysterious. You may even go so far as to wonder Vampire for a bit. But even when you begin to lose that notion, the puzzle remains as do the ghosts. (Yes, there's a character who speaks to ghosts.)
This story has it's roots in a past long before the main characters were born, setting in motion the events in the future. But who do we believe? We're fed just enough information (same as the heroine) to keep us guessing and just when we think we know who to trust, something happens that has us doubting again.
This is a story about power and control and the struggle to maintain it. It's about wrongs committed in the past that effect the present. It's about finding strength to go on when you've lost everyone you love only to discover everything you knew was a lie. It's about submission and fighting the very nature that kept you moving forward in spite of everything. it's about trust and discovery.
There's so much action and mystery in this story it will keep you turning pages. Looking forward to the second and last book in ths duet (Angel's Promise). So glad it's already out and I don't have to wait.
