It was only a matter of time until the truth came out.
I never thought it would come to this…
I tried, God knows I tried to stay away from her but eventually I crossed that line and broke that trust. I could no longer go back and I sure as fuck didn’t regret a single moment of it. I knew there would be hell to pay, I knew the wrath I’d be facing but I would willingly take the burns and scars just to have the love of my best friend's sister.
If there is one person I’d willingly go to hell and back for it was…

After reading 'Complicate Me', I couldn't wait to start the next book in the series. M. Robinson's stories have a way of sucking me in. Like it's predecessor, 'Forbid Me' proved to be an emotional, angsty story of forbidden love. I couldn't get enough.

'Forbid Me' is the story of Lucas's little sister, Lily and his best friend, Jacob. Much like half-pint, Lily has always been around the "Good Ol' Boys" for all of her life. Also like half-pint, she was very much "off-limits" to any of the guys. As much as they sheltered Alex, who was only a couple of years younger than the boys, it was far worse for Lily, who was seven years younger than Jacob.

The age-difference between Lily and Jacob might be tough for some to swallow. After all, she was around 15 when they first started exploring their attraction. He was in his early twenties at the time. If Alex was "half-pint", then Lily was "jail bait".

Most of the conflict in their story centers upon the forbidden nature of their relationship. In many ways, it was very similar to 'Complicate Me'. Jacob spends a lot of time trying to deny his attraction to Lily because she is so much younger and the sister of his best friend. Eventually, Lily has had enough of Jacob's rejection and tries to move on, only to have him then figure out how much he wants her. Once he's no longer fighting his attraction, they waste time trying to hide it from their friends/family.

Where this story differed from 'Complicate Me' was in the personalities of the characters. Lily was no shrinking violet. This was one bold, outspoken heroine. M. Robinson did a great job of crafting her character. She managed to keep her from coming across as young or "victimy", which was essential, given the age difference between her and Jacob. If anything, you felt like she was the one taking advantage of Jacob.

Jacob also stood out from Lucas's character. Yes, he was attracted to a younger, off-limits girl, but that was where the similarities ended for me. He didn't engage in the same self-destructive behaviors that Lucas did. He also seemed to give more regard to Lily and her feelings. Sure, he made plenty of mistakes along the way, but there wouldn't have been much of a story otherwise.

Overall, this was a great story. It was sweet, taboo and very angsty. I listened to the Audible version and it was well-narrated. If you're looking for a sweet, forbidden love story, this is a good choice.

After reading Complicate Me, I had to get my hands on Lily and Jacob’s story. A brother's best friend story- which is one of my favorite types of stories to read. I love the forbidden aspect of these types of books. Lily and Jacob’s story started when she was 15. Jacob is 7 years older than she is. The problem isn’t just the age difference, no it’s much more than that. The problem is that Lily’s older brother, Lucas, is Jacob’s best friend. No matter how old Lily is, it will never be okay that they’re together.

This story goes back and forth from past to present, with both Lily and Jacob’s point of view.

 photo D2577372-195D-473A-9F53-E42BB30C477D_zpssx3oflwv.jpg

Lily has wanted Jacob for as long as she could remember. And she’s always known that he’s had feelings for her, he just can never go there. He’s older and he doesn’t want to risk his friendship with Lucas. But sometimes, feelings and desires are stronger than anything, including friendship and loyalty. Especially when that feeling is love.

In the past, Jacob couldn’t push Lily far enough away. And she couldn’t get close enough to him. Now, years later, after so much has happened, things have changed. They both are in different places in their lives and want different things.
“Choose us. I promise I won’t ever walk away from you. from us again. I promise to give you all of me, forever. I’m all in, sweet girl, damn the fucking consequences.”

 photo FC304AF0-3739-4532-8DF0-B6EC5601D40B_zpske39vbjn.jpg

I loved getting all the background of Lily and Jacob, watching them fight their feelings for each other. And the present, watching Lily start to trust Jacob again and watching their love grow and come together. I just waited and waited for that moment that I knew was going to happen! And I was nervous as heck waiting!

M. Robinson writes angsty very well. She has been able to write two books in this series that I haven’t been able to put down. I had to know what was going to happen next and how things were going to turn out. That is probably the best quality in a story. Being unable to put it down. After reading the epilogue to this story, once again I am left dying for the next one. I’m so excited to see what happens with Dylan’s story!!! Even though this could technically be read as a stand-alone, due to the characters connections and all the background of these boys, I would highly recommend you read in order. If you love a steamy, angsty and forbidden story- pick this one up!

❤❤Jacob & Lily❤❤

This is their story of then and now, the long uphill battle to get to their HEA, taking you to hell and back. It was never a question as to if they were meant to be, after all they are each others lobster, it was all just a matter of finding the right time.

For Jacob, his whole world was Lily, so when he turned his back and left, he left a piece of himself in her care...she just doesn't know it yet. She has his heart, his love and his soul; and now that fate has crossed their paths, nothing will stop him from getting her back...even if he has to breakdown each brick she's built around her broken-wounded heart.
I was her first and I would be her last.

For Lily, she wants nothing more than for him to leave her alone so she can continue living her life. In three years she managed to do fine all by herself, doing what she loves and never letting anyone close. When she sees him, all the pain and heart ache comes rushing back, actually if she was honest with herself, it never even left. Her mind protects her heart, but her heart knows the truth; she is and always be his.
"I. HATE. YOU,"

“No you don’t,” he growled. “You don’t hate me at all, baby. What you hate is that you still love me.”

Actions speak louder than words, so with each passing day he shows her just how much he truly loves her...

reminding her just who her body belongs too...
"I get to strip you completely naked. I get to make you wet. I get to taste you. I get to make you come. It’s mine. Do you understand me?”

it's them against the world, pretty soon they have to come out of their little cocoon and face the ones who forbid their love.

Like with all of M. Robinson's novels, she effortlessly blends the past and the present, making you feel as if you are living each moment with each character. For me, my love for Jacob and Lily began in Complicate Me, and while these are considered stand alone reads, it gives you added history if you read it first.

There were moments I felt hatred, others where I unknowingly held my breath waiting for the other shoe to drop while at the same time hoping for no more heart ache. I won't lie, my favorite parts all took place in the "now", because it was the closest to their HEA. The angst that I have grown accustomed to getting with any or M. Robinson's books was felt, but to my surprise at a lower scale.

Jacob is charming to fault, he is sweet with a sometimes cheesy demeanor, has an utterly delicious dirty mouth, and the skills to back it up. Lily was a mix of sweet and sassy, we watched her grow through the pages and while her love for Jacob was clear as day, it matured with age. Their age difference never bothered me, maybe because my hubby and I are in the same boat, I'm a firm believer that age is nothing but a number and you really can't put an age on love. Regardless of it all, I loved it, I loved them and I can't wait to see Dylan and Aubrey's story, this from the looks of it will be one hell of a ride.

This is a definite recommended read especially for those who love a them-against-the-world kind of read, an alpha male who isn't afraid to get on his knees to say I'm sorry, and a love story that spans a lifetime.

“Hurting you is my biggest regret, loving you is my only redemption.”

Yes!!! Karma is a bitch, Jacob!!!
And yes, I'm still mad with Jacob because he was standing between Lucas and Alex, but damn me, i liked his story very much!!! Even though that he was a fuckin' hypocrite...

And why i'm saying that???
Well, this was the story of Jacob, one of Alex's Good Ol' Boys and Lily's, Lucas's baby sister who was seven years older than Jacob...

Do you see the irony here??? And why karma is a bitch???

"I've always loved you, but that doesn’t change the fact that this is wrong. What we’re doing, what we’ve been doing since you were fifteen behind everyone’s backs is fucking wrong."

From the last chapter of the previous book, i was eager to see what it will happen to this book and as in the previous book, the prologue made me wild to learn how the things will end up for Jacob and Lily...

For once again, we had back and fourth to past and present but i liked the way it happened...

"Have you ever wanted something so badly that it consumed your very being? Something that you could practically taste on your tongue? Something that was all you thought about, day in and day out?
The feeling is so intense that it becomes a part of you. You could feel it under your skin, in your heart, consuming your mind.
That was Jacob to me.
He was my core.
I couldn’t remember a time when I didn’t want him.
When I didn’t think about him.
When I didn’t love him."

Lily fell in love with Jacob in a very young age... He was her brother's best friend and they always had a special connection even though that they were 7 years apart...

Jacob started to acknowledge Lily's presence as a woman when she was fifteen and even though that he tried to stay away from her, there were times that he wasn't so strong to put some distance between them and Lily was a little shit who knew how to play him...
But those facts didn't make him to not hurt her and stay away from her for a long time...

"I’m hurting you when I’m with you, and I’m hurting you when I’m not. I can’t fucking win either way."

At the "present" (not exactly!), Jacob is determined to get Lily back because he can't live anymore without her, but Lilly was hurt and angry and he made his life miserable....
She is making him to work really, really hard to earn her back...

“You’ve loved me your entire life. I’m in your skin. I’m in your blood. I’m in your heart.”

"I. HATE. YOU,"
“No you don’t,” he growled. “You don’t hate me at all, baby. What you hate is that you still love me.”

Will Jacob persuade her that he is telling the truth and that he want to spend the rest of his life with her???

And even though they will back together, are they having a chance to stay together???
And what about Lucas???
How will he react to this relationship???

“Choose us. I promise I won’t ever walk away from you. from us again. I promise to give you all of me, forever...
I’m all in, sweet girl, damn the fucking consequences.”

I liked Lily and Jacob as a couple...

They had an intense relationship, a perfect chemistry between them, even though that they had seven years apart from each other...
Yep, their beginning seemed a little bit wrong, but their feelings were so strong that you could ignore how wrong it seems that she was 15 and he was 22...

In this case, Lucas was one of the main reasons that they stayed apart and they witnessed so much pain, but it wasn't intetional since Lucas had no clue of what it was happening behind his back...
To be real, Lily and Jacob lived much more together than Lucas and Alex and their relationship was hot and intense...

“I hated that my body wanted one thing and my mind told me another, both at war with each other.
My heart.
Betraying me once again.
It. Wanted. Him.
And that… I hated that, too.”
{Lily}

"I was blinded by her.
Consumed by her.
Wrecked by her.
She owned each and every part of me, right down to my soul.
I. Loved. Her."
{Jacob}

I loved Lilly from the first book already...

I loved the fact that even though she was so young, she was sooo intuitive...
She understood the love between Alex and Lucas and her heart was breaking for their behalf...
I liked Lily because she was a spitfire... A fiesty little thing that always spoke her mind even though the others were disagreeing with her...

She was real, authentic, with a big mouth and a huge heart...
She was full of life, until she felt a double loss and she lost her shiny side... But not for too long!!!
Jacob was everything she wanted in her life, but he kept hurting her and she couldn't bare it anymore... But even though everything that happened between them, she never stopped loving him and that was scaring her!!!

"As much as I hated to admit it, he was right. I didn’t see a future until Jacob came back into the picture and that scared me more than anything. I was jumping right back in. Head first into being dependent on him, and I had yet to figure out if it was a good or bad thing."

Jacob was a little bit rough around the edges... He was very different from Lucas...
He was an alpha male, a little bit dominant on bed and he was very determined... especially toward Lilly. As the rest of the Good Ol' Boys, he was a little bit of caveman and very possessive of his woman...

To be honest, i never fully forgive him for his part on the first story.
I was so mad that he couldn't watch his own goddamn business and what is really pissing me off is the fact that he wasn't innocent... He was doing something worse behind everyone's back!!!

But i have to admit that with Lily, he was very sweet and determined...
He was truly loving her and he made everything in his power to shoe her how much she means to him... He could do anything for Lily to take him back and i appreciated his efforts!!!

"She was my home.
So pure, so innocent, so angelic.
So mine.
She possessed my thoughts.
She owned my heart.
She fueled my wants and desires."

Yes, for once again, i loved that i saw the rest of the gang and I loved that i saw the happiness of Alex and Lucas... They deserved a piece of heaven after everything that got through...

Also my curiosity about Dylan and Aubrey hit another level... I'm dying to find out what the hell happened between them even though that it is obvious that they are still loving each other after all those years and I can't understand why she is with that piss of shit, Jeremy and why she is allowing him to treat her in that awful way...

And that epilogue??? Damn, it made me wild to start the next book immediately...

"I won't loose you again. You're mine, Lillian."-Jacob

Forbid Me is the second book in The Good Ol' Boys Series and it was a thrilling read. Lily and Jacob were magical together and every moment with them was simply unforgettable.

"Have you ever wanted something so badly that it consumed your very being? Something that you could practically taste on your tongue. Something that was all you thought about, day in and day out?"-Lily

We met Lily and Jacob in the first book of the series Complicate Me. Lily is Lucas' younger sister and Jacob is Lucas' best friend. Following the theme of the first book in the series, we have a case of "forbidden love". Jacob is seven years older than Lily. Although he should be feeling "brotherly" love for her, when Lily blossoms into a young woman Jacob feels something completely opposite of what a brother should feel for a sister. Additionally, Lily is head over heels in love with Jacob. Can they ever find a way to overcome the age difference and the judgement of their family, and friends?

"Every time I pictured my future, it was always with Lily by my side."-Jacob

description

As Forbid Me shifts between the present and the past, we experience the developing friendship between Jacob and Lily and the undeniable attraction they share. Although Jacob tries to do the "honorable" thing, Lily is a vixen that will stop at nothing to be with him. The constant push and pull was invigorating with the intense sexual chemistry building and the continuous battle of the wills between Lily and Jacob! Perhaps one of the most refreshing elements of this read is the tenacity of Lily! Jacob makes plenty of mistakes and when he "comes back" to "claim her", he has to work for it! (Which, might I add, just made the chase even that more exciting!)

"His love fucking consumed me."-Lily

description

Both Jacob and Lily are complex characters with a great deal of heart! The fact that they must face circumstances that are continually ripping them apart only makes their reunion that much sweeter! To have a read where both the hero and the heroine are so well matched for one another is like winning the lottery! The passion between these two was smoking hot.

"I want you in my mouth, Lillian. I could taste you in my dream. I woke up knowing what I wanted for breakfast. I want you in my bed."-Jacob

description

Told in dual POV, Forbid Me offers a perfect blend of romance and steam. The supporting characters continue to play a vital role in the plot development and enhance each moment with their strong connections to each other. With a well constructed story arc, witty dialogue, and unforgettable characters, this is one read you do not want to miss!

"Just her. Always her."- Jacob

description

"Just Jacob. Only him."- Lily
description
Overall, Forbid Me is more than just a 5 star read. It is a "must drop everything on my TBR shelf" and "read it NOW"! I thoroughly enjoyed every second of it. I have already been back to my kindle to re-read my favorite scenes (several times). Additionally, I will be counting down the days for the next Good Ol' Boy to hit my kindle. Bravo M. Robinson! Bravo!

Genre: NA Contemporary Romance
Type: Standalone Book 2 of The Good Ol’ Boys
POV: First Person - Dual
Rating:

Lillian (Lily) Ryder was known as Kid for being the youngest in their group of friends. Always feeling left out and treated like a kid, she yearn to make her mark especially in the eye of certain someone who she had her heart on since she was very young.

Being the oldest of the bunch, Jacob Foster is used of being seen as the brother, But as Lily blossomed into a young woman, every year it became harder to resist her. Out of respect to her brother and his best friend he tried to push her away without realizing he was only hurting himself that way.

In Book 1, Lily was never really part of the group and I never really paid attention to her, so I’m glad she got her moment in this one.

I didn’t see a future until Jacob came back into the picture and that scared me more than anything.

I love seeing a different side of her, with her fun and flirty demeanor. She was also a free spirit who wasn’t afraid to go after what she wanted.

She owned each and every part of me, right down to my soul.

Jacob was the responsible one. Having feelings for Lily, made it hard for him to decide whether to do what’s right or what’s best. I love how he put everything on the line to show her how much he wanted her.

The story went between present and past, from their pre-teen years until their adult life. We got to see how they started as friends and evolved to something more all while keeping it a secret to everyone around them, and how it all fell apart when things were just about to get better.

What I love the most about the book is how the other characters still played a big part in the couple’s life. I especially like how Alex was a big influence for Lily. However, I feel this book is lacking the emotions that I got from the first book.

“You’ve loved me your entire life. I’m in your skin. I’m in your blood. I’m in your heart.”

I was expecting some major angst but I didn’t feel much of it. I love it when characters suffered and I felt like Jacob and Lily didn’t suffered enough – as in the reasons they were apart were trivial and how they got back together were too effortless. Maybe that’s just me and my sadistic nature lol!

Forbid Me tells the story of a forbidden romance between friends who became something more and how their relationship affecting those who close to them.

Note:
The next book is of Dylan and from the ending of this book, it looks like it’s going to be explosive. Looking forward to his story :D

*****5 Forbidden Stars*****

(ARC kindly provided by author)

Jacob and Lilly's story was everything I hoped for and more. Emotional and tender; this is the tale of a forbidden love, that was able to withstand time and tragedy, but only grew stronger inside the hearts of these amazing characters.

 photo 7c7564d9-cdf0-4b07-b57a-31bb9ec9889b_zpsbjxhdzlw.jpg

Lily is Luca's little sister and she's loved Jacob for as long as she can remember. The love and admiration she felt for her brother's best friend her whole life, turned romantic as she grew older. Lily knows with every fiber in her being, that Jacob is her soulmate but he doesn't see her as anything more than his friend's baby sister.

Jacob is seven years older than Lily and even though he's always had love and a fierce instinct to protect her, he can't fathom the idea of admitting she's something more to him. When Lilly becomes of appropriate age, Jacob struggles with the attraction towards her, because the worse thing a guy can do to his best friend, other than to sleep with his woman and is to date his little sister, and Jacob can't do that to Lucas. So he tries everything, in order to avoid Lily.

Lily's mom is sick with cancer and the thought of loosing her has Lily struggling with everything in her life, she's so sad and scared and only Jacob feels like a safe haven during those trying times. The love Lily feels for him is the balm the soothes the scars in her heart. Jacob can't handle seeing Lily in pain so he gives her everything in order to help her, problem is when he finds himself forced to take it all away, and brake her heart yet again.

 photo image_zpsuvmfhuol.jpeg

Jacob goes away to Law school and becomes a very successful lawyer, he made partners and a lot of money but the feeling of loneliness never went away, no matter how much opulence he achieved. He very well knows, he could never truly be happy without Lily in his life but after three years, can he go back and prove to her that she's everything to him and he wants her forever, for real this time?

When Jacob comes back into her life Lily feels the need to protect her heart more than ever. She's hesitant due to their tumultuous past and she's determined not to make the same mistakes. They both needed the time apart, both of them have grown into the people they were suppose to be but something is always missing in the puzzle that is their lives, would the final piece fit this time? Read this amazing book and find out!!!

 photo 417e8920-6cc3-4b66-b9b6-dcaae9a7363a_zpshr9rnlb2.jpg

This novel was so emotional, I cried and got my heart broken along with Lily and even though I was mad at Jacob more than once, I understood his reasoning and his struggles.

What I loved most about Forbid Me was Lily's strength. Her mother's illness, Jacob's hot and cold behavior, Lily always remained strong through it all. She didn't allow her heartaches to define her. She was set out to do only what she wanted to do, no matter what anybody said, she was her own person and that quality was pretty inspiring to me. Hard times catch to us all, and if in those moments we can find a little bit of Lily inside us, everything should be alright.

As we read their story we catch up with the rest of the boys and it's impossible not to get excited about what's more to come in this series. M.Robinson created a group of characters with complicated stories that feel so real and as we learn more about them, they will each claim a piece of your heart.

As we walk along the streets of Oak Island and they become more familiar to us; it will be a place where we'll cry, laugh and fall in love with the Good Ol' Boys...

A must read series that has it all, romance, steam and angst. I loved it!!!!

In this seductively enticing romance, M. Robinson delivers yet again another complicated love story but this time with intricate layers and elements of first love, friendship, family, second chances, forgiveness, new beginnings, and a forbidden romance to get our hearts racing and yearning for more. With her wickedly beautiful and sinful prose, M. Robinson enchants her readers on all facets of love from first crush, first love, heartbreak, anger, lust, jealousy, and second chances. She sophisticatedly rivets her readers as she reminds readers there is nothing forbidden about love when it's your heart and true love on the line. So can an innocent love blossomed to a forever kind of love? Or will friendship and age be the deciding factor as to why two fated lovers will go on their separate ways? So in this forbidden tale of young love, can two fated mates finally realize that true love isn't meant to be easy? That love doesn't appear on command and it'll put you through hurdles but in the end, none of that will matter because it's about how you overcome these hurdles that will define your love. So can a forbidden love prosper and shatter all the doubts, insecurities, and the people that stands in their way in order to prove that there is nothing forbidden about true love?

#fORBIDME_3

Forbid Me is the second installment of The Good Ol' Boys Series and once again, readers are reunited with a group of friends who grew up together and had their lives intertwined. Each moment of their life was ingrained and built on their strong love for each other. And so begins the tale when a friendship gets complicated and blurred, when Jacob Foster begins to start look at his best friend's little sister a little differently. When Jacob first laid eyes on Lilian Ryder, he always saw her and treated her as his little sister that is until when he finally saw a young woman standing before him. Soon Lilian Ryder became the apple of his eyes, the beat to his heart, and the air he breathes. So what happens when the lines of what is right and wrong begins to get blurred?

#forbidT

The seven year age gap of Lily and Jacob was one of the biggest factor that stood in their way. It was a constant reminder to Jacob that he's toying and walking a fine line with danger especially when he knows and should be seeing her as his best friend's little sister. But when attraction, lust and love soon begins to take precedence, Jacob and Lily find themselves at a crossroad in their relationship. To start something that could lead something so beautiful. Or take a chance on a love that could destroy years of friendship. As they could no longer deny their feelings for one another, how can something so wrong feel so right?

#fORBIDME

M. Robinson has truly stepped up and elevated her writing to a whole new level as she delivers a book that was filled with everything that I loved, craved, and wanted in a forbidden romance. Ms. Robinson has sensitively and sophisticatedly delivered a forbidden romance that will set hearts racing as readers realize that the love of Jacob and Lily is something that can't be stopped. I loved that the author was able to make readers FEEL all the raw emotions, heartbreak, and loss of Jacob and Lily as they faced the uphill battle of their relationship. M. Robinson did an amazing job highlighting and showcasing the passion and tangible bond that Jacob and Lily had for each other was built on a solid foundation of love, understanding and respect. Nothing about their love was tainted and forbidden when readers realize, see, and feel their true love coursing through each of the pages. So if you are looking for a book that speaks volumes on love, honesty, vulnerabilities, and second chances then I highly recommend you to read Forbid Me. The only forbidden thing about reading this book is denying yourself to read an epic love story between two fated lovers who were meant to have their lives entangled with one another.

I have to start this with saying that although each of the books in this series focuses on a particular character and can probably be read as a stand-alone, don’t. Read them in order. One of the best part of this series is the buildup. Not just of the current book, but of the next one.

Now excuse me while I freak the fuck out.

The way Complicate Me ended, I knew one thing. I needed this book. Had to have it. Jacob has known Lilian since the day she was born. He loved her from the moment he saw her. But that love started to change. That love turned into something that could not be denied even if it was bound to destroy everything. She was just a girl. He was a man. She was his best friend’s little sister.

Okay so I stayed up until around 4am reading this. I was dying. I had to have all the pieces. I needed to know what happened. How three years had passed without these to seeing or speaking to one another. How did a man in his twenties give into the temptations of a teenage girl? How did they break each other completely?

This story is told in dual points of view and also with timeline jumps to the past and then back into present day. Each segment of this story was a buildup. Each chapter ending was a mini-little-heart-stopping-cliffhanger. I loved that the author worked in the angst in this manner. The story itself was filled with it. But it wasn’t this fabricated angst that backfires when you become so annoyed with the characters. The story held all of this. The storyline and structure of the book was the key. A fucking brilliant move. Far too many times I struggle with an angsty read when it is forced. This wasn’t forced one bit. I wasn’t told this story was heartbreaking – I knew it because it broke my fucking hear to read it. Everything about this story just flowed so perfectly. The way she didn’t make their relationship sordid at the start. The way she gave you Jacob’s POV and how much he struggled to give into what his heart wanted even if it could cost him everything.

As much as this gem was a girl falling for her brother’s best friend and an age-taboo romance, it was also a coming of age book. We saw Lily grow, we saw Jacob grow. We saw them struggle with life and the hard stuff, and come out on the other side, scars and all. And boy were these two damaged.

Then toss in the emotional aspects of this story. A very key part of this story also took place in Complicate Me – from a completely different POV. I knew it was coming. But nothing, NOTHING, could have prepared me for those moments. Jacob in those moments, Lily drowning in her sorrow – that just tore me to shreds. These two had so many obstacles. So many challenges to overcome.

Forbid Me is a story of second chances. A love story that shows you just how strong the pull of love can be. How sometimes, it can be so wrong and so right at the same time. That nothing is easy. Nothing comes without pain. That sometimes it’s just the right person is there at the wrong time.

I was on the edge of my seat during this entire experience. I sobbed. I soared. And I loved every fucking minute of the torture.

I need Dylan’s story. Right. Now.

This is a must read series. You will not regret it.

Past & Present Collide

This book right here is one of my most highly anticipated books, book #1 (Complicate me) had my heart 100% and put me in the biggest book funk I have EVER encountered, can not wait to see what M. Robison brings me with this book!! If it's another book funk I will cry!!

It was only a matter of time until the truth came out.

I tried to stay away from her but eventually I crossed that line. ~ Jacob

I've always loved you, but that doesn’t change the fact that this is wrong. What we’re doing, what we’ve been doing since you were fifteen behind everyone’s backs is fucking wrong. ~ Jacob

She was still my best friend's sister.

I cray cray love books like this, since I devoured "Complicate Me" I've been on a reading binge for books like that/this the feels, the angst, the heartbreak, the tears, the sadness wrap that up into one bundle and that's what I'm getting reading this book..

He was everything to me. My heart. My soul. I was his...My body, My mind. It had been and would always be that way..
~ Lily

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Then their worst nightmare happens when shit gets real when Lucas walks into Lily's bedroom catching them in a compromising position..

I'M GOING TO FUCKING KILL YOU! he screamed ~ Lucas

“I never thought it would come to this…
Bullshit…
Yes, I did.
Which is why I tried like hell to stay away from my best friend’s baby sister.”

Remember that's how the previous book ended, there's no having to back track because this starts off right where the above ended..

He was my LOBSTER. I LOVED him. He called me KID since the day I was born.

*Sighs* Jacob, I thought I loved Lucus's character but Jacob and his macho alpha caveman tendencies has stolen my heart..

My very first tear drop!! And all over a desert Jacob made, once you hit that scene you'll know what I mean, he's pulling out all the stops to win her heart back and claim her as his again..And the second lot of tear drops came when Lily's mum spoke to Jacob, so heartbreakingly raw

Lobsters mate for life.

A rollercoaster of a ride, laughter, love, tears, I loved every second, minute, hour I spent reading this book..I freaking consumed this book, what's not to love about a forbidden love, but this love was just so right, it worked..Consequences be damned..The conflicting emotions that race through you as you read this hold you captive within it's grasp, I never wanted to get off this crazy ride, I never wanted to get to that last page of this book, I never wanted it to end..

I think he was born with a ballcap on his head, he never took it off. The only time he ever did was when I would steal it off his head and put it on mine. It made me feel safe, like no one could hurt me when his hat was on my head. ~ Lily

The little shit.

Lily, I was there when you were born. I held you when you were a baby. I've watched you take your first step, I've watched you say your first word, and I've been there for every significant moment in your entire life. Lillian.Every. Single. One. ~ Jacob

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

With the past and present merging in this book it gives for greater character attachment and gives us the full picture of why things happened in the past that stopped these two from moving forward..

Hurting you is my biggest regret, loving you is my only redemption.

I couldn't wait to read Jacob & Lily's story. Definitely a forbidden love, that I absolutely loved. This author takes you on another journey from birth to adulthood with that once in a lifetime love, however this one is quite unique with a 7 year age difference. It's beautiful, it's wrong, but it all comes together effortlessly, yet so gracefully. This read was a lot more easy to read then the prior book in the series, I felt it flowed a lot better with the way you were "then and now" reading. Definitely loving this series, even though it has been ripping my hair out and chewing my nails off-ha.

"Forbid Me" is the second book of the "Good Ol' Boys" series, and the author did a beautiful job at making sure that all of my pet peeves that were present in the first book are now gone in this one!!

This story is about Jacob (who is one of the group of boys that are good friends) and Lily; who is one of the other Good Ol' boys members baby sister. That being said, you can imagine that any kind of attraction between Jacob and Lily has to be hidden, not only because she is Lucas's baby sis; but also because she is 7 years younger than Jacob. This makes things very tense and forbidden considering Jacob has known her since she has been born. Lily has always been in love with Jacob, and she lets him know it from a very young age. Jacob tries to stay noble for many many years, until the physical attraction starts when Lily becomes 15. The bond these two share is very solid, and yes...it begins very innocent until they both become older. There are a few kisses that take place when she is 15; but Jacob is very good at walking away before things get too out of hand. That is until he one day walks away one too many times, and finds himself trying to live without his soul mate for three years.

The other thing I really enjoyed about this book is how we were given a bit of their story in the past, and then in the present. It was alternating time frames through out and I found it worked to make a much smoother story, and one where the angst and the romance were balanced very nicely.
Even though we do get glimpses in the past, it doesn't come across too much nor does it over power the story.

This series seems to be getting better and better, and I can't wait to start book three, which features Dylan and Aubrey. M. Robinson is a very talented author who is able to keep me glued to each page she has written. I highly recommend this series!!

Have you ever wanted something so badly that it consumed your every being? Something that you could practically taste on your tongue? Something that was all you thought about, day in and day out? The feeling so intense that it becomes a part of you. You could feel it under your skin, in your heart, consuming your mind.
That was Jacob to me.

I first fell in love with the idea of Jacob and Lily in Complicate Me then I basically stalked M. Robinson waiting for more information. I love brother’s best friend stories and I love stories with age gaps, it just makes them a little more forbidden. Lily is Lucas’s younger sister, seven years younger and Jacob is Lucas’s best friend.

For as long as Lily can remember she has had a crush on her brother’s best friend. He has always been the hot older guy, but as they get older he becomes someone she can rely and lean on.

Jacob doesn’t immediately develop feelings for Lily, but as she gets older he begins to see her in another light. It isn’t planned and he really struggles with his feelings. It isn’t just that he has put Lily on a pedestal he also feels he is just too old for her. He wants Lily to experience life and have normal teenage girl experiences.

The story is told from alternating POV and alternates between past and present. I love how Robinson told the story with the reflections on the past, but it felt like it was changing so quickly. I think so much of that came from my overwhelming desire to know more about their past. A lot of their relationship was developing secretly going on during Complete Me. The sneaking around and hiding is my favorite parts of these stories. Since it alternated so quickly I was always left wanting more.

Jacob and Lily together isn't easy, even after they are both adults they have so much to overcome. Lily has always been the one chasing Jacob, so Jacob needs to prove his feelings to Lily. I loved seeing Jacob pursue Lily, I love how he made her feel. These characters are easy to love and attach yourself to. You want Lily and Jacob to find happiness.

This series has quickly become one of my favorites and with every book I look forward to more. Each book features a different “Good Ol’ Boy, regardless I recommend reading them all. I love how addicting these books are and how I am always looking forward to more.

I was blinded by her. Consumed by her. Wrecked by her. She owned each and every part of me, right down to my soul.

M. Robinson is quickly becoming a one click favorite in my love for angst department. I was completely blown away after Complicate Me and beyond rocked when the last written words set up a taboo love story for the ages. To say this book was highly anticipated would be an understatement.

While this book is a standalone, I would 100% recommend reading Complicate Me first to really know the boys and understand the connections established. That being said, Jacob Foster found his "lobster" the moment a young Lillian Ryder got scared to go to the bathroom after a scary movie. The only problem is...7 years separating him from that little girl.

M. Robinson did and amazing thing...she made a love story set in the foundation of friendship, protection, and added in taboo desire. What once was a "big brother" type of love turned into a growing fire with passing years of passion driven thoughts and passing looks of longing until the meeting of lips, just once, turns both worlds upside down.

Unlike book 1 with the back and forth emotional angst. Jacob and Lily have had their angst. They have a past full of tears, harsh words, and goodbyes that hurt one another deeply. Now it is time to finally grasp onto what was always meant to be. The only problem is...an older, wiser Lily is not the same infatuated little girl that Jacob once cared for. Needing actions over empty words, Lily challenges Jacob to STAY...for once. Hold onto your seats and enjoy the hell out of a man's journey to make Lillian his for all to finally see!

I really enjoyed this read, a lot. I think the writing was beyond great and the story flowed so well with using the past told in dual POV's to push the present. I know some may worry about the age difference and cringe at the thought of a college man and a 16 year old girl...DONT! This read is thought provoking as the author makes you realize that love has no boundaries. She shows the struggle with want and need and makes you question your own moral compass. More than that, she shows that love may not be easy...it may not be right...but will it wait???

I fell in love with the 1st book in The Good Ol' Boys series but I didn't enjoy this 2nd one much.

I have 2 main reasons for that and my 2 reasons are both about the hero, JACOB...

1. This book is about Jacob, one of the boys who tried hard to keep Alexandra and Lucas (heroine & hero in Book 1) apart, telling Lucas that she was their friend so they should all see her as their "sister" and she deserved someone better. But with the biggest hypocrisy, he fell for Lucas's baby-sister who is 7 years younger than him and all this thing started when she was 15 and he was 22.

When Lucas learnt about their affair many years later, he said what I exactly thought:
"After all the years and everything you did to keep Alex and I apart… you were fucking around with my baby sister? You’re such a goddamn hypocrite.”

Yeah.. this is reason one! I never managed to forgive him for keeping my favorite people - Alex & Lucas - apart, so I never cared about his happiness.

2. My second reason is the age difference between him and Lily when it all started. I didn't mind it when she was 24 and he was 31 but I kind of was irritated when she was 15-16 and he was 22, 23...

And Jacob's calling Lily "Kid" all the time didn't help it at all!

Also, another boy in the group, Dylan, who became a police officer, said to Jacob:
“Always knew you liked little girls, I should arrest your sorry ass.”

Well, this didn't help at all, either. It just made me feel sick to my stomach again...

So, that is my reason number 2 for not caring about this relationship.

And when you don't care about the hero's happy end, no matter how well the book is written, you can't enjoy it much.

If these two reasons do not bother you, it is a well-written book, you can go ahead and try. But, again, if you have read and loved Book 1, it is very hard to like this one for the obvious reasons...

P.S. I really wonder what will happen in Book 3 to Dylan, another boy in the group.

This second book contained vital information about the 3rd book, so if you are going to read Book 3, you should read Book 1 and Book 2 for the breadcrumbs the writer has left on the pages of the previous books.

It’s unconventional to want a man seven years older than you, a man who is your brother’s best friend. Lily, Luca’s baby sister, has always been in love with Jacob. It was the first kiss between her, 15, and Jacob, 22, that sealed their fate… As their paths continued to cross, they couldn’t deny the attraction they both shared. The forbidden nature of their love marked Lily’s age of transition and tested Jacob’s stamina. Their love was legally and morally wrong but Jacob was mature enough to sexually reject her when this was needed. In the beginning, a consensual relationship with young Lily seemed thrilling — but soon it only created gaps for self-doubt.

The relationship between them was exhilarating, drug-like…a warm secret humming in their chests. But, Lily was not of the age of consent and Jacob saw it as a double-edged sword. The man who promised to always be by her side, changed his mind and Lily was utterly devastated by his desire to leave.

 photo raw_zpsghlrcded.gif

Now, he’s back in her life and wants to start fresh again. Any love worth having, is worth fighting for, and Jacob is willing to change for this woman and fight for her. Both of them are overpowered by love, but Lily isn’t emotionally ready enough to forgive him.

 photo 11962611_zpsrrbq2tfa.gif

Jacob is invested in a life-changing-mind-blowing-heart-stopping-blood-rushing-difficult-but-extraordinary love with every bit of his heart. Will his relentless pursuit and strong feelings of love warm her?

 photo 12640700_zpskhgubnos.gif

The author had me captivated from the start; you could feel the passion they had for each other from the beginning. They both cared for Luca, even denying the connection they both shared. It was great to read both characters’ POV’s. The story shows no matter the age gap between you and your partner, what’s truly important is you love each other. If you love a book with romance, passion, suspense and a little humour you will absolutely love this story!

So I finished it but only because the prologue gripped me and I wanted to find out what happened next. Forbidden romance and falling for your besties little sister are usually right up my street, but sadly it didn't quite live up to its early promise.

My issues for anyone interested:

I understood this could be read as a standalone even though it's the second in the series, but it wasn't really a standalone I'm afraid. I think I missed too much back story and character history to make sense of the relationships in this.

The then and now narrative combined with the alternating fp narrative messed with the flow of the story and confused me; admittedly, this was not helped by the fact that I hadn't read book one.

The writing style jarred with me. I was pulled out of the story frequently by what seemed to me to be some pretty clunky phrases and language: "What are you inkling for?" and "'I thought we were going to eat' I seductively feigned" are a couple of examples but there were lots of others in a similar vein. It just sounded awkward to me.

This is a complete story, but based on my experience, I'd definitely recommend reading the first book before reading this.

I am a huge fan of forbidden romance so this one was right up my alley! And it was soooo good! I really enjoyed the first book in this series, Complicate Me, about Alex and Lucas, but I LOVED this one, the second book, Forbid Me, Lily and Jacob’s story.

Lily is Lucas’ little sister. Jacob is Lucas’ best friend. We met both of them in the first book and could already see the connection between the two. But, for years, the two fight their feelings for one another; it’s wrong, she’s too young, what will others say. However, Lily is feisty and sassy and she gets what she wants.

“What are you inkling for? Mmm, you smell good enough to eat. Is that what you want me to do? Spread your legs like you know I love and taste your sweet pussy?”

When the two finally can’t fight it anymore, it is HOT and intense. The connection between the two is like nothing else. They are each other’s lobsters.

“You’re mine. Only mine. Always been mine. Say what I need to hear.”

I absolutely loved this book. I couldn’t put it down and read it in a matter of hours! I loved how it went back and forth between the past and present to give us the answers to all their complications. I adored how much of the other boys we got to see. I really enjoyed how we got to see parts from the first book from Jacob or Lily’s perspective. This book was sweet, sexy, emotional, and I want more. I am so excited for Dylan and Aubrey’s story next! ~ Tiffany, 5 stars

M. Robinson manages to do it again... Another amazing story and another glimpse into The Good Ol' Boys Series.

In "Forbid Me" , book two of The Good Ol' Boys Series, we meet Jacob. Remember him, one of Lucas' biggest cock blockers in "Complicate Me"? He's the oldest of the good ol' boys, the bossy one. My, my, my how the tables have turned in "Forbid Me".

"Forbid Me" picks up where "Complicate Me" left off, however, both can be read as standalone novels. In "Forbid Me" we get a good look into Jacob and Lily's relationship. NOW, what I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, about M. Robinson's writing is that you meet her characters as youths. It's brilliant, because you are drawn in from the very beginning, relating and loving the characters. Even in their worst moments and worst behavior, you can't help but to sympathize with them. When you know where they've come from, you can almost justify their actions. Anyway, we meet Lily and Jacob at the tender ages of ten (Lily) and sixteen (Jacob), and how we meet them is HILARIOUS! (THIS IS A NO SPOILER ZONE, YOU'LL HAVE TO READ FOR YOURSELF) Lily is definitely crushing on her big brother's best friend, and constantly looking for every opportunity to impress him and be around him. Jacob is often times impressed, and dotes on her every chance he can get. He adores the little girl. He's nicknamed her KID. It's all very sweet and innocent.
As the book continues, and time progresses, these characters mature and feelings evolve into something that neither one them can fully handle. Actually, Jacob can't fully handle. (YOU'LL SEE WHEN YOU READ IT). There are some major obstacles standing in the way of their love and attraction for one another. For one, her age. Then there's that minor detail of her being his best friend's BABY sister. Through out "Forbid Me", there are other moments that deter these two to get it right and just be together.

SO, I LOVE THIS SERIES.. I LOVE THIS BOOK... I LOVE THESE CHARACTERS!!!!!! First of all, "Forbid Me" took me thru so many emotions. I felt a sense of nostalgia, during parts of their childhood. Lily's innocence, but fresh ways, with her eaves dropping on the boys conversations, or her revealing her curiosity for kink with her movie choices. Lily's humor and snark also had me stitches. Like her mother and her book of Lily's made up words, I was ready to write down everything she said to Jacob. (LILY-ISMS) Her humor was infectious. The banter between she and Jacob seemed to be push and pull at times, but she knew how to bring Jacob to his knees, literally and figuratively. I loved it. Lily could be a pretty little liar at times, when it came to getting Jacob right where she needed him. I loved how he tried to resist her every time, but she proved to be stronger, in the their battle of wills. And when you thought she'd defeated him, he resorted to that alpha male behavior we all love and yearn for. I loved the anticipation, and the build up to every intimate scene, even when it resulted in them walking away from each other. The chemistry between these two was off the charts. "Forbid Me" has some extremely, panty soaking scenes (OR BEARD DRENCHING SCENES... WHICH EVER YOU CHOOSE) !!!!!
But, what is a M. Robinson novel, without a teary moment or two. While, I was not an emotional wreak through out the read, like I was with "Complicate Me", there are moments that pull at your heart strings, and make your throat all lumpy. REMEMBER, SHE'S MADE YOU LOVE THESE CHARACTERS. YOU LAUGH WHEN THEY LAUGH, LOVE WHEN THEY LOVE, AND DAMN IT, YOU WILL CRY WHEN THEY CRY.

I received my arc 4 days ago and I have already read it twice. I am sure I'll read it at least one more time before book three is released. I am in love with these characters, this book, and the series thus far. 5 STARS FROM ME :-)

Too many "he was my core", "she was my core", to be followed by wishy-washiness. The h relentlessly pursues H, which is never a favorite trope of mine, and the H seems to respond well enough when h is in the room, but has no problem putting her out of mind when she is out of sight, moving on with his life (going to college, law school, dating, building his career) and there is zero evidence he is pining for her, aside from cheap words. The writing was unbearable to me. In just one paragraph, we have the H's blood boiling, followed by him becoming a ticking bomb ready to explode, and finally, a victim to be burned at the stake. Other cliche metaphors and expressions abound. From the aforementioned "you are my core", to calling his body "a wonderland", or talking about how she draws him "like a month to a flame." Seriously? The cherry on top of this cake was H slut shaming not only girls in general but the h herself, when, at sixteen years old, he sees her at a nightclub, and remarks that she is dressed like a slut with a face full of makeup (makeup, you say??? Oh, the horror. The horror...) I can't even believe I made it halfway into this book. What was I thinking?

Forbid Me is the second book in the Good Ol'Boys saga by M. Robinson. We the reader are finally given Jacob and Lily's Forbidden Love Story!

7 Years......that is the difference in our ages. I am too old for her. It is too much when we are young but now....Now we are adults and to hell with what people think...what Lucas thinks. I am going after what is mine.
Jacob and Lily's existence has been intertwined their entire lives. He has protected, comforted, and supported her whenever she needed. He was always there...Jacob her rock, her friend, her hero. It was easy in the beginning she was a kid "his kid" his best friend Luca's little sister.
Lily began to grow into herself. She became curious, sassy and beautiful so beautiful that everyone took notice especially Jacob. She began to question her feelings for Jacob and even though shy and innocent wanted to explore them.
Jacob's struggle is evident on every page. He is lead by his heart but his mind soon wants him to believe what he feels is wrong....forbidden. I commend M for making me the reader feel that pain and struggle. It was so powerful and overwhelming.
Jacob and Lily know that with each interaction the bond between them strengthens, sealing their fate. The attraction is undeniable and will soon overcome them. Jacob realizes this and decides to make their choice for them. He walks away...away from Lily...away from temptation...away from love. He must sever the ties.
The hurt does not fade with time. They are now adults and Lily will not be easily won over. The vulnerability, trust and innocence have been replaced with hurt, heartbreak and sass. Her love for him has been tainted by his actions and words. The damage is done. Jacob is not easy swayed and knows that he has to bring his A game to win back what is his. Actions speak louder than words and he has his work cut out for him!
Jacob and Lily own this story. You the reader can't help but be swept up in this captivating tale of young love. I must say that Lucas had wormed his way into my heart in the first book but Jacob swept in captured and ran with it! His sweet, seductive, filthy mouth took me over the edge. He planned each action and word with precision to prove his love to Lily!
So get ready to be pulled in by their amazing story. Jacob and Lily need to be heard!
Hats off to you M. I have again fallen in love with your characters and their journey!!
I was a beta reader and provided an arc for an honest review!

Forbid Me...Jacob and Lilly's story

This book was Consuming, Intense and Destructive.

It was sooo freaking good..I may have liked this book a teensy bit more then Complicate Me- Bo and Half Pints story...don't hate me...lol I just really loved it!!!

This was Lucas's Little sister-Lilly and one of Lucas's best friends-Jacob's story. It is how they knew in their younger years their love was forbidden but you rode that rollercoaster ride with them through the years into adulthood and see if Jacob forbids his best friend from dating his little sister. There are soo many twists and turns and angst in this book. (who knew Jacob could go all Alpha Male on Lilly)...lol

This book can be read alone, but OMG, you really should read Complicate Me cuz that story will give you lots of back story and will make you fall in love with these two all the more.

I gave this book 5 Good Ol' Boys STARS!!!

****4 1/2 Forbidden Love Stars****

I have to say that this book started out very strange and a little icky for me.

description

Stay with me, though, because it ends up being one of those romances that will have you clapping and smiling like a fool at the end;)

TMI

description

I normally don't mind age gaps, but (initially) there are several things here that made my brain gasp, 'ooookay, I'm not so sure I want to know this shit'...

a) where he is seventeen to her ten-years-old and she is overhearing him talking about "eating pussy" and she fears for him thinking he is eating 'meow' cats.

b) where he is a 20-year-old adult comforting a scared 13-year-old child.

c) where a 14-year-old girl innocently jumps on his 21-year-old morning wood and they laugh it off as a friendly awkward moment and dub his penis, "his friend."

All of these 'then' moments are written in a non-creepy, innocent type of way, mind you! He isn't a perv, but I still don't think it was a good move to have this much info/ detailed scenes into the early years of a romance that's morally & legally questionable...

It's difficult to have ^this^ detailed loving pseudo big brother type relationship described between a child and an adult and
THEN have the same characters evolve and transition to a teen and adult romance without the reader having a little moral pause about it all, ya feel me?

Transitions...,

The first transition, which is a mild kiss, takes place when she is still very young- 15 to his 22. He knows it's wrong, and he removes himself.

The next transition takes place on her sixteenth birthday, and this kiss is much more heated.

From her being 16-17 and him being 23-24, things heat up to oral sex and an on again-off again hidden relationship.

Sexual intercourse doesn't take place until she's legal.

IMHO: I think the author should've either lessened the age gap, omitted the details of childhood scenes when she was so, so, so fucking young and he is in his late teens and early 20's, or held off completely on them kissing and so forth until she was a couple years older.

description

I eventually was able to move on from the age thing and go on to love the story because he is a really good guy and actually loves her, but, sadly, I imagine some readers reactions will be unmovable from the ..

Moving On

Both MCs have a POV. Awesome!

This book goes back and forth between then and now, with each time line progressing forward independently till they meet and progress as one.

My romantic misgivings about the 'then' periods aside, the romance in the 'now' is cute as a button. Both time lines were technically very well done. It was easy to follow & added a lot of layering and suspense to the story. I wasn't ever bored, and I never even skimmed a single page.

Characters

I don't warm to Lily immediately. I often found her adolescent character childish, but then I REMEMBER SHE WAS A FUCKING KID!

Anyway, I love the tough, snarky, witty woman she is an adult;) She's a funny brand of hell on wheels;) I kept picturing a brown haired...

description

Him...

"That lip is going to fall off, Kid. Then what am I going to kiss?

Her...

"My ass."

Lol, feisty ;)

Jacob is funny, demanding, and stubborn as hell. I love how he just keeps showing up and either giving or taking shit away from her. And, oh, the panty melting shit that comes out of his mouth:

"The only reason I would leave you again, baby, would be to take you to another room and fuck you senseless."

"I want you in my bed, but I need you in my life."

"Hurting you is my biggest regret, loving you is my only redemption."

And the panty melting shit he does...

Her...

"So this is what you're going to do for the rest of our lives? Leave when you want but when I try to, you're going to take my truck apart?"

Him...

"Look what it's done for your perspective. You're picturing our future together. That's a step in the right direction."

They were endearing characters that lit the pages afire when they were together and broke your heart when apart.

Storyline

The blurb says this is a standalone within a series. Most of the time that means characters are featured and then maybe make guest appearances as secondary characters get their own stories, and you don't rally miss anything skipping about.

description

This storyline is so woven, uhm complexly intertwined, perhaps, in the secondary character involvement that I really wish I would've started at book one to know them better and better catch the secondary dots floating around in the storyline.

The heart of this story is a romance taking bloom and working around impossible circumstances for 10 years...

description

description

description

Of course, there's just so much more to it than that - from coming of age issues, the grey area between right and wrong, family dynamics, friendship, illness, etc.. It's really a book that you just have to read to appreciate.

The ending was beautiful and perfect! And, I can't wait to see WTF a secondary character gets arrested for in the final damn sentence of the book!

Final Thoughts

Spoilers for OM/OW

For those concerned with ow/om, yes, both MC's have sexual relationships with people during separations. No cheating. Other relationships are insignificant to the MCs, are not written in any detail other than to say they existed, and there are no written sex scenes outside the MCs.

Trigger alerts - cancer & intimacies w/ underage MC.

I really liked this " forbidden love" story.

I didn't read book 1 because it just seemed to angsty for me, to enjoy right now. Maybe I will try it at a later date.

Now this one was a bit angsty too, but not too much. I enjoyed the age gap...the forbidden part. It was very nicely done.

There will be some people who won't like the idea of a 22 year old being on love with a 15 year old, but I think the author did an amazing job with this subject.

This story spans over multiple years. Starting when the heroine is 10, until she is 25. The hero is 7 years older and her brothers best friend (I love these kind of stories).

The steam was also very nicely done and eventough they did fool around when she was younger the actual "fucking" didn't happen until she was an adult.

Jacob was a very nice who fucked up more than once...but I could understand were he was coming from and being torn up about what would be the best thing to do. Lily was a very sweet and likeable heroine. She was no doormat ..thank god. She truly loved Jacob with all her heart, but she also knew when enough was enough.

4 stars from me :))

I am at a loss for words. Your writing blows me away! Jacob and Lily's story is my favorite. Full review at release. Five star read

Here is my full review

I was gifted a copy of Forbid Me for an honest review. Let me tell you I honestly loved this book. I could not wait for Jacob (old man) and Lily's (kid) story. I love the banter between the two of them. Lily is sassy and Jacob is hot, sexy and is such an alpha male. I love M's writing and each book she blows me away. You will be brought to tears, then you will be laughing and then you will want to slap both of them. Here are a few lines that I loved.

"You, Lillian... I. Want. You."

"No you don't," he growled. "You don't hate me at all baby, What you hate is that you still love me."

I swear to God that girl is like a tornado and I can't help but be sucked in."

I was blinded by her. Consumed by her. Wrecked by her.

Let me leave you with this 'READ THIS BOOK"

I absolutely love The Good Ol' Boys!
The first book in the series left us right at a jaw dropping moment, so I wanted this one really bad!!
It did not disappoint!! Jacob and Lilly's story was awesome. They had a completely forbidden relationship on so many levels. Their being together was totally wrong but here I sat reading it rooting for them. My heart broke with every obstacle. Everytime I thought it would work for them something or someone threw a wrench in it!
I loved how the story was told through Then and Now chapters. Giving us their current story while showing us what happened in their past to get them to this point. The characters are so relatable, they feel real, just normal folk who work for a living while loving their friends and families.
Oh boy M. Robinson did it again though giving you what you think is a perfect HEA and BAM hits us with another jaw dropping moment that leaves you dying for the next book.

Wow could this book be anymore AMAZING!!! This maybe the best book I read in a long time!!! I am obsessed with M Robinson books but this surpasses them all by a landslide!! I. Could. Not. Put. It. Down. LITERALLY!!! This series just keeps getting better and better!

Jacob and Lily! LOVE them!! The depth of the feeling and emotions they had were surreal. They were sooo real and relatable! I felt every feeling and emotion they had. It was intense, powerful, full of angst, captivating, intrigued, funny, and sad. Each one giving you the feels. Sooo many points in this book I would stop and think wow this book can't get any better and honestly it did! It was gripping, compelling, and pulled at your heartstrings!! Literally AMAZING for lack of a better word.

Lily she is sooo funny, stubborn, determined, beautiful, but young. She changed and grows tremendously throughout the book!! Parts of this book I literally felt the same way. It made her easily relatable. I made connections between my life and this story. Which to me only adds to how great this book truly is. She is 7 years younger then her brother Lucas's best friend Jacob. One of the Good Ol' Boys who she grew up surrounded by but, too young to be apart of the group. Jacob is alpha male, domineering, sexy, funny, and always trying to do the right thing. Torn between what's right and wrong. Being pulled and pushed back and forth. How such pain can they both go through and be put through before they make it? Or do you cut your losses and protect yourself?!

This book is a whirlwind of a tornado that you can't help being sucked into.

Well it has happenend!!!! M.Robinson has outdone herself with Forbid Me!!! This book consumed my life from the first page until the end and yes I was still left wanting more!! This entire group of characters are absolutely amazing and suck you right into their lives!!!

Jacob and Lily....what can I say?? I freaking loved them, every single thing about them. Although their relationship is not easy and of course they have so many different o sticles, you can not deny their attraction and chemistry. But is that really enough?

I honestly can not say one bad thing about this book!! The writing was superb. It grabbed a hold of me and pulled me right in. The characters are flawless and have so many characteristics I love! The love, the chemistry, the wholy hotness was the perfect mixture. With just the right amount of drama and angst and of course our favorite, a hot alpha male, it was destined to be perfect!

I would without a doubt recommend this book to everyone. I am dying for the next book in the series!!! This is definitely not only a book, but a series that will stay with me and is for sure one of my top favorites!!!!

***ARC KINDLY PROVIDED BY AUTHOR IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW***

From the first time Lily appeared in "Complicate Me" I loved her and couldn't wait for her story. Once again M Robinson has delivered a truly wonderful book that covers every spectrum of emotion and I loved it.

Lily is Lucas's baby sister and Jacob is her brothers best friend who is 7 years older - beginning to see the problem here? As we discovered in Complicate me, Jacob has been a part of Lily's life since the day she was born. She was considered his little sister but as the years went by Lily knew from a very early age that she loved Jacob - that he was her lobster and even though at first Jacob refused to acknowledge it he knew Lily was his lobster too, but her age, her brother, the other good Ol boys and their parents were all the things that kept them apart for so many years.

This story is told in dual POV as well as from past to present. It connects to the timeline in Complicate Me and for me it worked really well. There is an underlying suspense / mystery through the book that you as a reader can't wait to find out what happened to Lily and Jacob being apart for 3 years and her hating him so much and these glimpses from past to present feed that anticipation.

Lily is a great heroine. She is funny, full of life, quick witted and her smart arse comments are brilliant. She loves fiercely, is head strong and stubborn at times and when she was in pain and hurting I felt it too. I felt her emptiness, and despair and fear and I cried with her.

Jacob was a complete surprise. I had no idea he was so possessive and dominant!! He was a lawyer and boy did he have a way with words. I loved his confidence and they way he wouldn't take no for an answer from Lily when he FINALLY couldn't stay away from her anymore.
He was a honourable man and his turmoil and struggle to do the right thing was heartbreaking to read.

Just like in Complicate Me the scenes with Lily's mum were my breaking point. I read these pages with tears streaming down my face and even though I knew what was going to happen they held no less impact.

We get an insight into how close Jacob and Alex actually are. which reflecting back I didn't pick up on in Complicate Me and same goes for Lily with Dylan and Aubrey.

The ending of this book sets up for the next book in the series - Dylan and Aubrey but seriously I wanted a little bit more of Lily and Jacob and I hope we get that from the next book or perhaps a novella. (Pretty please)

Congratulations Ms Robinson on another wonderful book and I'm eagerly awaiting the next book in this series.

M. Robinson does angst and drama so well. I was so looking for to this book.

Jacob, TOTAL ALPHA , likes his best friend's (who he gave such a hard time in Complicate Me) little sister.
I just knew madness was going to ensue. He could be a total dick but once you see the reasoning behind certain things, very loving and giving.
He was also a dirty boy

Lilly was so badass she didn't take any crap from from Jacob. She lived her life how she wanted.

They had so much they had to overcome. Not only their age difference but her brother, her parents, their friends but also Jacob and Lily themselves.

This book had everything!!
I laughed out laugh. The interactions between Jacob and Lily from they where young to adults were hilarious. Just remember cats that's all I'm saying LOL.

I cried. Some parts broke my heart. Even though I knew it was coming. I had a mini ugly cry.

I was shocked. Oh.Em.Gee. There were things that occurred that I did not see coming. Like seriously my mouth hung open reading.

There were so many other emotions while reading this.

I really loved it. Awesome writing that pulled me in and I just had/needed to know what was going to happen next.

The ending WOW!!!!!! I really need the next book. That is going to be emotional and drama packed I can just tell!!!

They are basically standalones but you should read the series!!!!
