This is a story of not practicing what you preach, crossing over the line and breaking the guy code.
Forbid Me is the second book in the "Good O'l Boys "series but can be read as a stand alone. I personally recommend that you read Complicate Me first as it is where we first meet Lily and get a glimpse at her feelings for Jacob, her brothers best friend.
Lily at the age of 15 falls head over heals for Jacob but with 7 years age difference Jacob knows that it is not right to persue her and tries every thing to curb his feelings for her. The story takes you throught many facets of life and death and how we depend on our loved ones when we need them the most, even when we know what we are doing is wrong.
Lily's character is a feisty adolescent and a strong, determined, and successful adult and she was not afraid to walk away if need be. She does not need a male in her life to look after her which was pleasing to read.
jacob is an Alpha male who truly believes in right and wrong and tries his best to do the right thing by Lily even if it makes him out to be the bad guy.
I must say that after reading Complicate Me I wanted nothing more than for Lucas ( Lily's brother ) the kick Jacobs arse but M Robinson weaved her magic and redeemed Jacob in the most interesting of ways.
This is a young adult romance in the finest form and M Robinson certainly knows how to bring the characters to life and make you fall in love with them, even if they are being an arse.
So now I'm waiting patiently for the next book in the series about Dylan and Aubrey
So do your self a favour, download the book, and enjoy the ride that is known M ROBINSON, author extradionaire.

It was only a matter of time until the truth came out.
I never thought it would come to this.
I tried, God knows I tried to stay away from her but eventually I crossed that line and broke that trust. I could no longer go back and I sure as f--k didn't regret a single moment of it. I knew there would be hell to pay, I knew the wrath I'd be facing but I would willingly take the burns and scars just to have the love of my best friend's sister.
If there is one person I'd willingly go to hell and back for it was Lillian Ryder.

After being introduced to the Good Ol' Boys gang in Complicate Me, I was looking forward to continuing my reading journey and finding out what was to become of the forbidden love affair of Jacob and his young love Lily. There is so many obstacles in this love story, the primary one being Age, Lily being only 15 to Jacobs 22 when they first share a kiss, nevertheless and without spoilers, their story just had to be told and I loved everything about them and their journey. This is a must read.

This author definitely knows how to do angst ! Lily and Jacobs story is one of forbidden love , she’s young and underage and he’s 7 years older but they know they’re meant to be together - soul mates .
There’s plenty to of drama and inclusion of the other characters of the series .
This book alternates between Jacob and Lily’s
Point of views as well as alternating between the past and present as their story unfolds . The plot intertwined with events that happened in the first book and I thought this was handled really well, we also got glimpses of what will be in the next book of the series and has me kean to get started right away ! 😊

M Robinson has once again broken my heart and put it back together again with this book! She has a beautiful gift of creating beautiful, gut wrenching stories.
Jacob and Lily's story was AHHHH-MAZING!!!! I couldn't get enough of the Jacob's dirty mouth and dominance! I ❤️❤️❤️ him!! And I also fell in love with Lily as she was so strong headed and sassy!
I can't wait to read the next book in this series. This is a highly recommended read!

It has been a couple of days since I finished reading Forbid Me, and it has taken me a while to get my thoughts together to write this review.
If you read Complicate Me, there was a bit of an indication of what this story would be about at the end of it.
But that was nothing compared to what It was and what it made me feel.
Oh the feels.
Jacob and Lily's story has been years in the making. And never easy - especially as Lily is Lucas' little sister, and Jacob is his best friend. To Jacob it is taboo, to Lily, it is none of Lucas' business.
The heart wants what the heart wants.
Have you ever wanted something so badly that it consumed your very being? Something that you could practically tase on your tongue? Something that was all you thought about, day in and day out?
The feeling so intense that it becomes a part of you. You could feel it under your skin, in your heart, consuming your mind?
Told from dual POV's and in past and present tense, we follow their beautiful but quite brutal story over the span of over 10 years. And every time I thought "yes! The are finally getting there!", Ms Robinson ripped my still beating heart from my chest... again!

Spanish & English Opinion
ESP ::
ENG ::
I love the brother’s best friend trope and also, the age gap twist. However, since we kinda know what was happening, the book felt long and with lots of moments that were there just for making extra pages.
I loved the past and present narration though and also, Alex and Lucas continue appearing!

As soon as I was done with Complicate Me, I couldn't wait to dive into Forbid Me. The ending in the first book and little sneak peeks had me curious and really wanting to see where Jacob and lily's story would go. I just love each book in this series. It just keeps getting better. Jacob and lily's journey was also oh so difficult but I loved how she just believed they were each other's lobsters. Jacob who cared about nothing but lily always lily. I loved this one. Now the next I'm curious about Dylan and Aubrey's story.

This book starts off from book one but of course following Lily and Jacob, not Lucas and Alex. It goes back and forth over the years of their lives and relationship. You have Jacob who's best friends with Lily's older brother Lucas and who's 7 years older than her. Even though they should stay away from each other due to age and then her brother, they can't seem to stay away...although at times, Jacob tries to do the right thing and ends up hurting Lily. I understood where he came from and even applauded him for his strength for doing the right thing. It was sad to see Lily being hurt but I thought it was for the best...plus I love angst in a book.
When they were together...Holy Toledo.....it was hot....Jacob.....what a dirty talker, I loved it...the way he spoke to Lily was so alpha. Even if they were just kissing, their passion was off the charts...I loved the taboo..
I loved the going back and forth of the times, it keeps the book more interesting. I really, really loved this book. It's another five star read from M.Robinson...can't wait for the next book in this series, I think it's going to be the most painful one yet.

M. Robinson manages to do it again... Another amazing story and another glimpse into The Good Ol' Boys Series.
In "Forbid Me" , book two of The Good Ol' Boys Series, we meet Jacob. Remember him, one of Lucas' biggest cock blockers in "Complicate Me"? He's the oldest of the good ol' boys, the bossy one. My, my, my how the tables have turned in "Forbid Me".
"Forbid Me" picks up where "Complicate Me" left off, however, both can be read as standalone novels. In "Forbid Me" we get a good look into Jacob and Lily's relationship. NOW, what I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, about M. Robinson's writing is that you meet her characters as youths. It's brilliant, because you are drawn in from the very beginning, relating and loving the characters. Even in their worst moments and worst behavior, you can't help but to sympathize with them. When you know where they've come from, you can almost justify their actions. Anyway, we meet Lily and Jacob at the tender ages of ten (Lily) and sixteen (Jacob), and how we meet them is HILARIOUS! (THIS IS A NO SPOILER ZONE, YOU'LL HAVE TO READ FOR YOURSELF) Lily is definitely crushing on her big brother's best friend, and constantly looking for every opportunity to impress him and be around him. Jacob is often times impressed, and dotes on her every chance he can get. He adores the little girl. He's nicknamed her KID. It's all very sweet and innocent.
As the book continues, and time progresses, these characters mature and feelings evolve into something that neither one them can fully handle. Actually, Jacob can't fully handle. (YOU'LL SEE WHEN YOU READ IT). There are some major obstacles standing in the way of their love and attraction for one another. For one, her age. Then there's that minor detail of her being his best friend's BABY sister. Through out "Forbid Me", there are other moments that deter these two to get it right and just be together.
SO, I LOVE THIS SERIES.. I LOVE THIS BOOK... I LOVE THESE CHARACTERS!!!!!! First of all, "Forbid Me" took me thru so many emotions. I felt a sense of nostalgia, during parts of their childhood. Lily's innocence, but fresh ways, with her eaves dropping on the boys conversations, or her revealing her curiosity for kink with her movie choices. Lily's humor and snark also had me stitches. Like her mother and her book of Lily's made up words, I was ready to write down everything she said to Jacob. (LILY-ISMS) Her humor was infectious. The banter between she and Jacob seemed to be push and pull at times, but she knew how to bring Jacob to his knees, literally and figuratively. I loved it. Lily could be a pretty little liar at times, when it came to getting Jacob right where she needed him. I loved how he tried to resist her every time, but she proved to be stronger, in the their battle of wills. And when you thought she'd defeated him, he resorted to that alpha male behavior we all love and yearn for. I loved the anticipation, and the build up to every intimate scene, even when it resulted in them walking away from each other. The chemistry between these two was off the charts. "Forbid Me" has some extremely, panty soaking scenes (OR BEARD DRENCHING SCENES... WHICH EVER YOU CHOOSE) !!!!!
But, what is a M. Robinson novel, without a teary moment or two. While, I was not an emotional wreak through out the read, like I was with "Complicate Me", there are moments that pull at your heart strings, and make your throat all lumpy. REMEMBER, SHE'S MADE YOU LOVE THESE CHARACTERS. YOU LAUGH WHEN THEY LAUGH, LOVE WHEN THEY LOVE, AND DAMN IT, YOU WILL CRY WHEN THEY CRY.
I received my arc 4 days ago and I have already read it twice. I am sure I'll read it at least one more time before book three is released. I am in love with these characters, this book, and the series thus far. 5 STARS FROM ME :-)

Forbid Me is the second in the series of The Good Ol' Boys. Each book focuses on a different couple, but it does help to read each book in order. As you get back some of the story in each book.
So when starting I was unsure if I was gonna like Jacob, because I thought of him as a hypocrite after everything with Bo & Half-Pint, but the more I read on the more I realise I love him.
You get all the angst again from Complicate Me, but it's different this time. Forbid Me is told from the past and present times, both from Jacob and Lillian(Lily's ) points. This sees Lily being in love with of one her older brothers best friends, that's one problem, but there is also the age gap. Jacob had been around Lily since she was a baby, he watched her grow up, then when his feeling changed his love grew into a different kind of love, one he struggled to deal with.
We get a wee insight into Forbid Me at the end of Complicate Me, however nothing could prepare you for all the feeling this book would envoke. You find out how Jacob and Lily spent the three years apart, and you get the back story of their relationship. You see Lily growing up into a brilliant sassy woman, you see her deal with something heartbreaking that was also prominent from Complicate Me, but most of all you see her deal with her love of Jacob, even with all the hurt she never stops loving him.
Jacobs back story is also heartbreaking, which is why it endears you to him so much. The turmoil of falling in love with his best friends baby sister. You feel the sadness as he wars with his head and his heart. It's a case of doing what he thinks should be right and what his heart wants. The way the story is told, it doesn't make Jacob seedy and you don't feel it's wrong. Sometimes you can't help who you love. Like Complicate Me it was like star crossed lovers, you couldn't help feel they should be together.
The book is a must read from start to finish, I couldn't put it down. The way the story has been told just draws you and makes you feel what the characters are feeling and I love how it all interconnected with the first book. It also make you understand more of why somethings happened in the first book. Forbid me is a poignant story of a forbidden coming of age story of falling in love with the right person, at what maybe could be considered the wrong time.
A teaser into Dylan and Aubreys story was at the end,all I can say is I need it,like now..
I was given an Arc in return from my honest option.
