Vengeance (Book 1 in The Vindicator Series) Kindle Edition
For me, Vengeance is best served through the eyes of my scope. The twitch of my finger. The pull of a trigger.
The death of someone who deserves to die.
Revenge, retribution, and retaliation are all that comes to mind.
Cruel and brutal punishment for the hell inflicted on my family is all I’ve ever been able to think about.
The betrayal fresh in mind years later, reminding me of the day my world came crashing down.
I lost everything.
The woman I loved.
My sister.
My parents.
Myself.
You know what else I say about Vengeance?
It’s best served frozen.
No side dish of compassion. No extra helping of warning.
No dessert called a second chance.
The price I want for it.
Is written in blood.

The written language style of Vengeance is hard, punchy, and as dark as Cade’s heart and soul as he talks through the murderous betrayal that his older brother perpetrated on their family. For me, it begs the question, is evil born or created?? How can someone with the best of love and family turn around and raze all that to the ground in the worst of ways? This is Cade’s story as he becomes the epitome of vengeance poised to be unleashed upon his brother and friends, in the most fitting of ways that he could possibly conspire. There’s no forgiveness, no second chances, and no cheating the dark soul who has come to claim the lives owed to him.
Told in my favourite dual POV, and in the present tense, my heart absolutely broke for Ivy. She lost the love of her life, and married a man she thought absolutely understood her loss. Instead, she was betrayed just as badly, and I lived her pain as she is debased and tortured by her husband, the man who should have respected her, but instead has beaten her to within an inch of her life. She has been in hell, unknowingly married the man she thought had been as broken by the death of his entire family as she was, but discovered too late, how depraved he actually was. I was gutted.
Cade thinks he is dark and beyond redemption, yet we still see his compassionate and protective side, and the deep love he is capable of. Have I crossed a line that I could love and admire a man who takes out the worst of society’s scourge for a fee while he hones his skill and builds the connections he needs to obtain his end goal? Cheer him on as he exacts the most twisted forms of revenge? Ms Coopmans delivers to us, our own need to avenge every bit of evil that we hear, or read about in the news, but legally can’t have, or won’t openly admit in polite company. Yep, I was definitely invested in his outcome.
There was one voice that I was both surprised and gratified to hear, and enquiring minds wanted to know one thing. Nothing changed my view, but I just wanted to know, why. WHY?
Oh holy hell, I sat inside on a sunny Autumn’s day and had to finish this book, only managing to peel my backside away for urgent jobs and food. Yes, if I could convince you of one thing only, it would be to read this book.
Absolutely a 5 dark star read for me.

Ivy seeks comfort in her boyfriend brother after he dies in a fire, along with his parents and sister, to find out he is nothing but a monster.
This is a very dark book, revenge is brutal but both Cade and Ivy need it.

Wow!! If anyone deserved vengeance it’s Cade St. James. The punishment he inflicts on those who have wronged and defiled his loved ones is brutal and merciless. I have to say this is the first book that I have read from Kathy Coopman and it was dark and ferocious. I loved the storyline and the characters and that cover was perfection. Although I did find that the character’s feelings and thoughts were overly elaborated upon to the point of repetition at certain stages of the story, it is still a striking and compelling read.

Cade and Drew are brothers, and Cade and Ivy are in love with each other....And, then, Drew burned their parents and sister to death, for the insurance money, and he.left Cade for dead...but Cade didn’t die....♥️🌼🔥
Ivy doesn’t know what Drew did, but her true love, Cade, was burned to death in the fire with his parents and little sister....and Drew fakes being a human being long enough to get Ivy to marry him.....So, Ivy’s life, in the last 10 years has been a nightmare....Drew has shown his true colors...She’s raped and beaten, by her husband, over and over and over..♥️🌼🔥
Cade walked away from the fire and joined the military....For eight years, he learned how to kill and to do it without guilt, and his vengeance, for his brother and his friends, grows and grows....and when he returns, it’s to kill everyone involved with his parents’ and sister’s deaths.....and if Ivy is involved, she’s dead, too....♥️🌼🔥
I loved VENGEANCE, and I LOVE CADE!! His love for Ivy is palpable, as is hers for him.......Love for Drew?? Not so much....He gives crazy a whole new face....♥️🌼🔥
