My husband. My monster.

The truth isn’t always what it seems.
Lia doesn’t realize that, but she will. Soon.
I chose this life. This road. This twisted arrangement.
For her, I made a deal with the devil.
For her, I toyed with fate and death.
There’s no going back.
I stole her and like any thief, I won’t return her.
Lia is my addiction. My obsession. My love.
Mine.

I have to give myself props for continuing this trilogy. And I have to give Rina props for somehow causing me to be invested in the story. This entire series is a train wreck…I wanted to look away but was tempted to glance back.

If you think what Adrian and Lia have is love then I would recommend seeing multiple therapists ASAP.

Why I just couldn’t deal with this book:

-Adrian is a psychopath. Lia has so many issues. They should, in no shape or form, be procreating.

-He literally drove her to the point of jumping off a cliff to kill herself and we were just breezing past that like it was no biggie.

-Adrian punishing Lia by whipping her as she begs him to stop is not love, it’s not romantic, and it’s definitely not okay.

-Possessive hero doesn’t mean a man who will literally kill a man or punish his wife for just speaking with another man.

-The epilogue where Lia tells us Adrian has been having sex with her all the time to knock her up and when she doesn’t want to he tells her she needs to suck it up bc their son wants a sibling?? Wtf.

-This book is mostly sex and it’s not hot. It’s just super creepy hate sex.

He releases a deep sigh, staying silent for a beat too long. “Is it worth it?”
“Is what worth it?”
“Losing everything for her?”
A small smile grazes my lips. “Absolutely.”

Rina Kent really put her back, sac and crack into this trilogy, huh?

i truly never thought id see the day where i wholeheartedly enjoyed a Rina Kent book, where both the hero and the heroine excite me. i was throughly invested in them as a couple and as individuals because they were both equally fleshed out and intriguing.

i think Adrian worked so well for me, unlike her other heroes, because of how refined and sharp he was? he was intense and threatening. he just had this quiet, alluring quality to him that slowly reeled me in until i became obsessed.

but ultimately, he was ruthless and i could see it. his words and actions matched up. so many of RK’s heroes constantly tell us how monstrous and dangerous and threatening they are... when in reality they’re really not and they should be embarrassed for their childish behaviour (granted a good amount of her H’s are in high school or early college but still💀).

how RK heroes normally make me feel:

description

while Adrian was just...

description

he just hits so hard like idk how else to articulate my thoughts without becoming a whore on the tl, so. just know id do anything for this man.

He drags his gun down the hollow of my cheek. I swallow, and it’s not only because of the deadly weapon. The way he watches as the metal slides down appears to be nothing short of anticipation.

his devotion to Lia was just 😫 like i truly couldn’t stay mad at him for long because it was so apparent how much he loved and cared for her, even when he fucked up. severely. cooking with her and for her. washing her hair and body. protecting her from anyone who’d try to hurt her. the moment he laid eyes on her, no one else existed and that’s all i ever want in a hero. he was just always there for her, no matter how bitter and awful things were between them. some may say it’s a lil toxic, but i ate this shit up. i can’t even understand how she managed to resist him for as long as she did because Lia, gurrrrrl

description

i always complain that heroines, but particularly RK’s, don’t have backbones and the one time a heroine does im annoyed because i just wanted Lia to give in some they could be together🧍i am an Adrian Volkov defender, you’re on honour and im never gonna be sorry about it.

She willingly closes her eyes and whispers, “I wish I’d never met you.”
My lips brush against her forehead. “I’ll meet you over and over again if I have to.”

Lia also stole my heart. her and Nicole are officially my fave RK heroines, with Lia’s daughter Annika having the potential to be a new fave if she’s written how she deserves in her book.

Lia was just so easy to root for. i felt her pain and despair too many times to count, so whenever she was truly happy i kinda wanted to cry? seeing her lose ballet, struggling with her mental health and spiralling as she lost herself was executed with such raw poignance i was shocked with how emotional i would get. RK hasn’t done it often, made me physically emote beyond deranged laughter and shock. but here with Lia (and with Nicole) she just wrenched a lot of emotions from me. when she takes the time to unpack trauma and a person’s deteriorating mental health, she can knock it out of the park. when she gives the time and space to authentic storytelling, RK can write a really good story beyond her basic, water-downed enemies to lovers formula with the same copy and paste characters and generic smut. Lia, Adrian and their story definitely proves that.

”I do love you, Lia. I always have. But my form of love isn’t sweetness or softness. It’s nothing noble or delicate. My love is selfish and villainous. My love is the type where I will kill people to protect you and erase others to avenge you. My love is possessive, obsessive, and knows no boundaries, not when I first met you and certainly not now.”

but ultimately, the main reason this worked amazingly for me unlike the rest of her books are two words for you:

✨character development✨

the people Lia and Adrian were by the end of this trilogy were so fundamentally different to who they were at the beginning. you really do go on a journey with them as a couple and as individuals. the change isn’t drastic enough to be unreasonable and make them unrecognisable, but it was just a natural progression aided by self-growth, healing and each other.

there was one scene in particular in this final book that just hit me so starkly, making me realise how much Lia had grown and hardened, and how much Adrian had softened and opened up. she barges into his office, in front of all of his men and demands he listen to her. the shift in their dynamic here was so different in comparison to all of the other times she demanded to be heard and he refused to fully listen.

here they were equals. i could feel how powerful and hardened they were as a couple, with their headstrong and intense love still filtered through the pages.

lemme tell you i was weeping when he asked her to dance at the Bratva dinner, i just—

”I didn’t know you danced, Adrian.”
“I don’t.”
“You are right now.”
“Because you look beautiful.”
“You’re dancing because I look beautiful?”
“It’s a perfectly good reason.”

description

the intense stubbornness, angst and heartbreak of this couple also worked surprisingly well for me because it felt logical. well... logical to who they are as people. their choices, despite how it hurt the other person, aligned with their characters. so it lessened my frustrations most of the time because i could see their line of thinking, which may not be logical to me but was to them.

they were just really well fleshed out to me. normally, all of RK’s heroes look the same to me. all of her heroines, too. Lia and Adrian stand out amongst all of them— they’re unique, their trauma is well explored, Lia’s mental health issues were fleshed out and not used as a plot device, but actually added to her character. her mental health issues actually broke my heart, i thought they were so well portrayed.

...low-key convinced RK has a ghostwriter for either this trilogy, or all of her other books because this one just isn’t in the same ballpark and it’s actually kinda wild to me.

I don’t tell him he’s the only one I’ve been thinking about, in the most terrifying way possible, and that when I saw him again in the audience, something inside me unlocked. That I think I had my best performance yet, just because I knew he was there.

one of the highlights of the book for me were THE FAMILY MOMENTS. oh my god.

Adrian, Lia and Jeremy as a lil family unit hold my whole heart. baby Jeremy is such a cutie, i adore him. he was such a sweetheart and i loved seeing how his relationship with Adrian and Lia just showcased an entirely new dynamic between Adrian and Lia, as well as Adrian’s soft side... and Jeremy calling him “papa”😫🥰🥺

He gives me the stink eye. “I’m a grown-up.”
“Of course you are. I’m just going to lift you and you’ll wash your hands, all right?”
He nods. I hold his small body as he lathers his hands with a lot of soap, then grins at the bubbles. I can’t help the smile that stretches across my lips at how he finds the smallest things joyful.

i could read an entire book of them just being a sweet little family. i can’t wait for Jeremy and Annika’s books so i can see these two again. i will never say no to seeing Lia and Adrian in any of the other books, expect Empire of Sin. we don’t know that Adrian.

and shout out to my fave side character, Yan. it’s a crime you’re not getting your own book, bby. i can be your heroine💅🏻

oupsi, I forgot the rating while writing it!

"I’ll try to be better. Though I’ll probably never be a hero.”
“Who says I want a hero? I’m perfectly happy with you, my villain. "

I couldn't have hoped for a better outcome to this twisted, addictive trilogy.
The third book took place shortly —a few months— before the mind blowing revelation of the first book in the series. I figured the twits and turns would’ve eased after getting most of the questions answered in the 2nd book. Oh. How wrong was I!

"Everything you mentioned is scary, but none of it terrifies me as much as the thought of losing you. As long as we’re together, I can get through anything."

This closure was a paradoxal combination between joyous and poignant moments, I found myself smiling at their heartwarming family scenes and a few minutes after crying my eyes out; thinking it was the breaking point of their relationship.

" She is the only person I’ve ever wanted to belong to me, no matter how illogical and impossible that is."

The epiphanies that came with them opening up to each other and trusting one another helped me to outline the complexe character behind Adrian. A lot of his actions in the previous books made complete sens with his strategist/mastermind caricature. Going back to the point of them working on their relationship, the storyline was full of selfless actions to save their beloved ones, to save each other. And with the bond between them increasing and blooming to a real husband/wife relation, it was literally the sherry on the top I needed for their epic story to end in apotheosis.

"What my husband doesn’t know is that he isn’t the only one bent on protecting me. I’d do the same.
With my life, if I have to "

I think I don’t have much to say or add about it without spoiling the most important parts of the story. To sum : the series was brilliantly pulled and this book gave the most satisfying ending to it. Et maintenant que j’ai toutes les cartes en main, I think I’ll reread the first book soon.😌

" My roughness matches her softness"

Hmm.. after finishing this book I’ll need a full week of confort reads.
Wish me luck🫡

Hd footage of Adrian and Lia! *too sensitive*

This book didn't help much! I enjoyed it though! I thought maybe I'll get how much Adrian is regretting that Lia jumped the cliff and he'd be out of his mind, but nothing much happened! He was terrified and all, but still!

The first half of this book is just like book 2. Adrian is still thinking she cheated on him I don't blame him when he saw Luca kissing Lia, but thank God he believed her after his PuNiShMeNt. There wasn't a full grand happy moment when Adrian found out she got her memory back! He was like OKAY 👍🏻

Lia — she's determined now to not bottle up her emotions and she'll just try to make things better! It wasn't until she lost her family (being winter and being jealous of Lia) that she realized how much she loves and misses Adrian and Jeremy! She's hell-bent on making things right, and for that, she needs to work on it and start opening herself!

Adrian — his growth was done slowly, but he eventually realized everything he did! We got his reasons for suffocating Lia, and it was obvious he was scared to lose her after losing the only person he loved – his Aunt Annika. He promised to be better and opened himself up! He started supporting Lia! And Ahhhh wanted to cry when he went to the Pakhan to die just because he refused to divorce Lia! He accepted death over leaving her at all! 😭✋🏻

❝Is it worth it?❞
❝Is what worth it?❞
❝Losing everything for her?❞
A small smile grazes my lips. ❝Absolutely.❞

I'm just really happy that Lia got confident and fixed everything in the end! She became equal to Adrian just like Rai & Kyle. Adrian supports her! Jeremy adores his parents and they got Annika! 😭 ADRIAN REALLY LOVED HIS STEPMOM!

I seriously love Damien and Kirill. They are like two besties who go around the campus poking and disturbing other kids 😭 and hahaha dying at the way Kirill was defending Adrian in front. Lmaoooo, that meeting scene where Adrian was literally about to either be executed or free was so chaotic hahaha! Kirill was seriously acting like a doting wife on Adrian! 😭😭

Sadly, the Conclusion to Consumed by Deception…. I lost my way on this last book… I didn’t want to read it cuz I really didn’t want to let them go….

description

They started with blood and death, but something much more beautiful blossomed from the darkness.

Adrian, he does love Lia, he always has! But his form of love isn’t sweetness or softness. It’s nothing noble or delicate. his love is selfish and villainous. His love is the type where he will kill people to protect her and erase others to avenge her. his love is possessive, obsessive, and knows no boundaries….. he loves her so deeply that he started to suffocate her….

Lia got to the point that she couldn’t breathe anymore, that she jumps off a cliff to get away from Adrian

She is -A resilient rose with the deadliest thorns
description

Lia might have lost her way for a Lil while, but once she realizes all that Adrian will do and he’ll stop at nothing to bring her back from that dark tunnel, that she fell into

He will make her so addicted to him and she will be unable to function unless she gets her fix
These two had so many ups and downs in this last installment I didn't know if I wanted to laugh cry or just throw my Kindle across the room but either way, I really

enjoyed this last glimpse of this couple... my heart broke when Adrian finally opened up to Lia...
Omg I almost forgot to mention, how when the opening chapter of this book was based on Adrian's 10-year-old self. I just wanted to cry the things that this poor child went through and how he suffered....
I really enjoyed the different personalities of all of Adrian's guards…. and course, one of my favorite characters throughout this series was Yan! And how can you not love him…. But secretly I loved them all
Jeremy he was just amazing

This was crazy ride & it’s amazing how the author made this toxic relationship work out

Terrific conclusion to the series!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Narration: 🎧🎧🎧🎧🎧
Romance: ❤️💜💙🤍💛
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📙📕📗📘📔
World building: 🌎🌏🌍🌎🌎
Character development: 👨🏻👱🏻‍♀‍🧔🏻👩🏻👱🏼‍♂‍

The heroine: Lia - Adrian’s wife. Her mental stability is still a bit tenuous. She still thinks she saw her double standing in the window of the pool house though Lia knows she is in a coma.

The Hero(es): Adrian - He is a Bratva King and answers only to Sergio, the Pakhan. He is ruthless and immoral and can’t seem to keep his mind off Lia. He is in the information business for the Mafia. He has a network of hackers and spies that can get him all the information he needs on his enemies, his partners and also on Lia. He might be in trouble with the Bratva if they find out that he killed their Mayoral candidate because he touched Lia.

The Story: There is so much between Adrian and Lia. He is a sadist and she a masochist. They love each other but each of them has reason not to trust each other. They are hiding things from each other yet they can’t stay away from each other. Plus they have a 5 year old son, Jeremy that they both love.

In this book, all the secrets come out. This book is sizzling hot and quite a wild ride. I won’t give anything away, but this series is terrific if you like a broody, possessive and dominant Hero.

The narrators are terrific. The female has a great voice which fits Lia perfectly and she does other voices just as well. The mail voice is just as good. It is nice and deep and he does well with the Russian accents. I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook!

I told you how different my love is, how dark it can get, but I do love you, more than I've ever loved anyone in my life. I don't only need you; I also genuinely cannot live without you and the light you bring to my darkness. I know you deserve better, but I'm unable to let you go, so I'll try my best to be worthy of you, Lenochka.

i have so much thoughts about this trilogy and my mind is literally all over the place tryna write this review but, if you're wondering if it's worth the read or not: YES. my answer is yes. i would advice going into this knowing little-to-nothing bc, from my own experience, it was much better that way.

my thoughts:

overall, this trilogy has me wrapped around its fingers and i wouldn't have it any other way. ✨

Trigger Warnings:

OH MA GOD THIS BOOK WAS SO GOOD I LOVED IT SO MUCH AAAAH!!!! Everything about it, the characters, the way things were resolved, the way the story ended, everything was just so damn satisfying. A huge, huge, huge thank you to Apoorva for recommending this because if it weren’t for her, I wouldn’t have read it this soon. The couple in this series is definitely one of my favourites but I can’t reveal it to those who haven’t read the books because of spoilers. This is the third book in the Deception series by Rina Kent and it’s bloody amazing. This is not a standalone series, you would have to read Vow of Deception and Tempted by Deception before getting to this since it is the third and final book in this trilogy. I am so sad that it is over since I will miss the characters. I will definitely reread this at some point in the future just to look at all the stuff now that I know everything and see what hints and clues I missed, this series is a shit storm, it’s crazy, with so many twists and turns, it’s mad addicting, I couldn’t stop reading and finished this whole series in three days. I can’t wait to read more from Rina Kent, I wanna check out Rai and Kyle’s book since I noticed she has a book out for them even if I read mixed reviews for it. I’m just gonna jump into spoilers since I have a lot to say. Throughout this review you’re gonna see me talk about my heart a lot, my heart has been through so much while reading this, it’s gonna be crazy repetitive lol but whatever.

Spoiler section yeee boi

I feel so weird, normally I would continue to read this series but now that it’s over I’m lowkey book hungover. I don’t know what to do with my life now lol, I miss the characters aah. Anyway, stay safe folks, and happy reading :)

My favorite book from Rina Kent. Although I've read 17 books by this author and plan to read the rest, I know that nothing will beat this book and trilogy.

I loved both main characters and I really liked their relationship development in this book. I'm so glad Lia started fighting for their relationship. Lia and Adrian deserve literally everything, they both fought for their love until the end and will definitely be one of my favorite couples, if not my favorite, from Rina Kent.

"Because even though I performed the act of living before, I've never truly lived until Lia came into my life."

"You're my last stop and I plan to stay, not move on." "You're my last stop, too."

I'm obsessed with Adrian Volkov, because how could I not be when he is literally like that to Lia.

"He sometimes watches you as if he wants to stab the air for making you cold.”

The scenes with Lia, Adrian and Jeremy gave me so much serotonin, I feel in love with them as a family.

I'm so glad everything turned out as I hoped it would end and everyone got their happy ending, even the side characters.

This trilogy was just a rollercoaster ride of emotions.

Adrian and Lia finally face her remembering who she is and the consequences of their actions. We go through the aftermath of her jumping off the cliff and how that affected Adrian.

I love how Lia came out of her ordeal to finally speaking up and taking charge. Standing up for herself and not being afraid to love her villain. To also expressing her feelings for him.

''I trusted you Lia, even more than I trusted myself''

The scene where he finds out she might have possibly been behind his assassination attempt is just cruel to read about. I don’t blame him for the pain this information causes him. He loves her and she betrayed him and not by keeping her friendship with Luca but by never revealing the truth to him.

There were a lot of revelations in this book, and honestly despite Luca’s entire reason for being Lia’s so-called friend was all a grand scheme, it still made me feel some sort of sadness for him. He just had the worst life and all he knew was revenge.

''He's here to unleash his wrath. The wrath that makes me tremble all over''
Such a major hint at Jeremy being the God of Wrath since he is Adrian's replica. I loved all the little bits of Jeremy we get in this trilogy. It’s amazing how he is the only next-gen person to spend so much time in his parents’ story.

The next scene where he basically is implying that he will have to kill her for being a traitor is hard to read since you become genuinely scared for her but it’s not that at all but him being caught in a lie and murder that has dire consequences. He knows he will be killed for it and chooses to sacrifice himself to keep her and Jeremy safe. He is given a choice to divorce her but denies it outright. His loyalty is to Lia before the Bratva and that’s unwavering love right there.

''One day, she'll realize that the world we live in doesn't matter. We're the only ones who do''

Lia being the savior and badass was great - taking charge and showing Adrian he is who she wants, and it’s never been any different no matter what was said over the years. She killed a man for him, she sacrificed her beliefs to protect her husband. How can you not love her for it?

They are intense and insane, but they fit so perfectly.

I love that they named their daughter Annika after the only parent Adrian truly had.

This was a great conclusion to a wonderful series. Third time reading this and it’s still holding a great place in my bookish heart! It’s my favorite mafia romance book/series and Adrian reigns supreme in terms of favorite MMC and book boyfriend/husband. Nobody else compares in my eyes and I have read a lot of books since the first time I read this trilogy.

Overall Opinion :
Holy shit. The way I waited for this book, damn, I can't remember ever waiting this bad for a book! I had remainders set on my calendar and alarms as well! By about 20% of the book, Rina had me like - " What the holy fuckkk" And then I was freaking out pretty much throughout the whole book.

Adrian and lia are pure fire! Their story is the best tale ever and I am so sad to say goodbye to them. What was more marvelous was the way Rina has written their tale. The timelines that she picked for us to read first was the best part and I think it played a vital role in enhancing the suspense of this story.

My heart broke so much for Adrian and Lia in this book! Especially for Adrian. His childhood glimpses were brutal and all I wanted was to hug that man. He was so cold and hot but hurting so bad as well. He would never admit it, but all he wanted was Lia's love and for her to love him as much as he did to her. But so much miscommunication and pain had ruined their relationship beyond any hope and now they might never get it back.

And then there was Jeremy! He was the cutest little angel ever and the number one fan of Lia and Adrian being together. His scenes with Adrian had me highlighting the book like crazy and I loved it so much!

Rina being Rina, gave another hint of a new couple and I hope she graces us with their story! It's going to be the best. I have been screaming this since the start of this whole trilogy, if you want an utter mindfuck and a book to completely ruin you , then just read this trilogy! It's dark and definitely has a lot of triggers, but I swear it's the best storyline ever. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

No matter how many best laid plans Adrian created, Lia thwarted him every step of the way.

Two wrongs don’t make a right but what do two rights make? I suppose it’s whatever plan makes sense at the time. It seemed that Lia’s flying by the seat of her pants worked out better in the long run. Silly men lol.

He fought her independence so hard, so thoroughly, over and over again it’s a mystery how he got anything else done.

But in the end she more than proved her worth.

It was when he finally kneeled at her feet, gave her everything she deserved did they both found peace.

I’m terribly sad to see this end. I’ll especially miss Adrian’s dirty mouth and his shifty spanking hand.

This is what the second book should've been and not just unnecessary drama.
Finally Lia and Adrian started acting like mature adults and actually talked and Adrian fucking finally listened.😭
He was still the possessive asshole don't get me wrong but we got to see another side of him and accepting Lia as his equal and not sheltering her away.
And Lia really surprised me. I expected a lot more resistance from her like before or hiding secrets but that was not the case here. She didn't hide or push him away and even saved his life.
Their family moments with Jeremy were so cute🥺

The only thing I didn't like was that rushed ending. I felt like the whole thing with Lia's new family, her father and Luca was not developed enough and the ending was a little anticimactic.

That epilogue tho, so sweet🥺

“You’re not only my lover and my husband, you’re also my best friend and my partner in everything.”
“And you are mine, Lenochka.”
“I love you, Mr. Volkov.”
“I love you, Mrs. Volkov.” And I’ll spend the rest of my life showing her exactly how deep and raw that love is.

i've read all of rk's books in random order but i just want to say... royal elite who? legacy of gods who? jonathan king (who was my fav rk man) WHO? literally any other books written by rk WHO??? i only know adrian & lia volkov. they're the best couple by far and adrian is her best hero ever created imo. he is in my top 3 book boyfriends, he may even be my number one now 🤭 it's honestly so funny to me how people think Aiden has a chance against Adrian lmao 😭

after finishing this book and now having the full picture of everything, it makes me want to go back and higher the ratings for the first two books, especially the first one. this book brought so much more meaning to them and as to why everything had to happen the way it did. for example, why adrian was treating lia the way he did in the first book.

I was wrong, of course. So utterly wrong. And I would’ve made a huge mistake had it not been for Adrian. He brought me back. That thought causes my heart to thump wildly in my chest, slamming against my ribcage. Even when I chose to be Winter, my husband got me back and treated me as Lia. He also refused to call me Winter, even when I begged him to. Even when I threw tantrums and demanded it. Even when he could’ve easily made me into Winter. And that touches a deep, dark corner of my soul. One that had no light, no hope, and no way out.

i hated in the first book how adrian was insisting on calling winter, lia. it was quite cruel and it didn't sit with me well. making her learn someone else's life as if her own didn't matter. but it was because he was trying to bring his lia back. everything he did had a sole reason, and it was so he could bring his wife back. idk yall, but that really just resonated with me. he still even did all this when he was still thinking lia "cheated" on him. that crushed him and not even the worst betrayal to him could deter him from loving her and taking care of her.

the character development. for both lia and adrian, was amazing. they are both drastically different people than they were when they first met. adrian learned to communicate for her and the way it actually took him time. it was so realistic for a character like him. he's the definition of, if he wanted to, he would. he LEARNED from his mistakes and this book showed that. i don't mean were were told, it was actually SHOWN in the actions he did. he knew she deserved better, so he was going to try his damed best to give that to her. and lia? a queen. i'm as obsessed with her as i am with adrian. the way she stood up for herself and took initiative, how she wouldn't take no for answer, how she made sure she took a role in the mafia bc she didn't want to be left in the dark anymore, how she gave her all in her and Adrian’s relationship, how she did what SHE wanted. and the way she SAVED adrian.

i adored everything about this book. there was so many precious moments. lia and yan's friendship. how yan, as the bodyguard of adrian, would tell adrian when he's in the wrong for lia (even though it could get him killed), bc his loyalties shifted to her. they were complete platonic soulmates in my eyes. adrian and jeremy's relationship 🥺 their interactions were the cutest, like this:

My son grins as his feet dangle from the toilet. I’m in his direct view while remaining outside the stall as he instructed.
“I don’t call Mommy anymore,” he says. “I can do it on my own.”
“That’s a good boy.”
“That’s right. I am. I’m gonna be big as you and protect Mommy when I grow up.”
“And what am I going to do then?”
“It’s okay. You can protect her too.”

like pls 🥺🥺🥺

adrian and lia are such a power couple. rk has me hooked.

“The fact remains, you killed Richard, who could’ve become an asset to us.” Igor glares at me. “Why?”
“I assume you listened to the recordings and already know why I did it.”
“Say it, Adrian.” Sergei’s voice rises with every word. “Enlighten us with the fucking reason why you endangered the brotherhood’s future in this city.”
“He touched my wife and had to die.”

~ can we talk about how adrian knew this would be a major betrayal to sergei and he could die for it, but still didn't hesitant to kill that fucker for hurting lia.

“No. You’re not just my wife, the mother of my son, and completely and utterly mine, but you’re also the only woman I’ve wanted since the first time you begged me to fuck you when you were drunk.”
~ 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨

“Remember when you asked me if I ever loved you?” I nod, fresh tears surging to my eyes. “I didn’t understand my emotions at the time, but I do now. I do love you, Lia. I always have. But my form of love isn’t sweetness or softness. It’s nothing noble or delicate. My love is selfish and villainous. My love is the type where I will kill people to protect you and erase others to avenge you. My love is possessive, obsessive, and knows no boundaries, not when I first met you and certainly not now.” [...]
“And because my love is selfish, I will put you ahead of everything else.”

~ couldn't picture any other type of love for them expect for this ❤️‍🔥

“I wish it could’ve been different between the two of us. I wish I were the man you deserve instead of the villain you’ve got.”
~ even though lia's accepts adrian for what he is and loves him no matter what, it's the fact that he still wishes he could be better for her 😭

“With all due respect, she won’t be protected when you’re dead.”
“Yes, she will be. You will make sure of it.” He releases a deep sigh, staying silent for a beat too long.
“Is it worth it?”
“Is what worth it?”
“Losing everything for her?”
A small smile grazes my lips. “Absolutely.”

~ 😌😌😌

“She’s always felt like home, the one I think about going back to whenever I’m away from it.”

i'm so fucking emotional in like a good way. fuck me i love them so much. this is the book i needed right after the first one. i still dont understand the filler book because goodness i've never been more of a mess whilst reading this.

where do i fucking begin. the character development in this book ugh i'm still so fucking proud of them. jesus the way they BOTH changed for the better. i don't think i'll get over their progress.

this book was sad in a way. i fucking cried at that scene when he said goodbye. god even though i knew nothing bad was gonna happen lia reaction to it broke me. even the way adrian did it fucking tore me into pieces. scratch that, the whole fucking book was a rollercoaster of emotions that just made this whole trilogy one of my favs ever.

even though i gave the 2nd book 3 stars, as a whole its def worthy of 5 stars. if i could give it more i would.

i think adrian and lia will have my whole heart for a long time and i just know i'll want to reread this trilogy again. oh and i fucking love the family dynamics in this book, i love love love yan, kolya and boris. fucking cuteness overload.

daddy adrian is so fucking hot, i wish this man was alive because i want him. he's so fucking possessive and caring - pls i would die in a second.

“But no matter how much I fucked her, no matter how much I punished her, there was no satiating the thirst I had for her.”

This book is about a victim of violence who has resigned herself and learned to love her rapist. Is it sexy? I don't think so.
Plot so repetitive that I had to skim through pages.

She opens her mouth. He spanks her. Sex. Repeat in a circle. Three books of this, this is too much, and if in the first two there was still some kind of plot and something happened, then the third book is tedious.

Ps
Ah and wtf he called her Lenochka if her name Lia.

Because Lenochka it's tender for name Lena. He calls his wife whole 3 books with a name of different women. Yeah, yeah I remember explaining about meaning "light" and blah blah blah. But seriously Lena and Lia it's two different namea ffs.

I can’t believe how bad this was. Sloppy and stupid. Zero finesse. It feels mean to say, but I’m extremely unimpressed with this writing—I literally have nothing positive to say. I know I'm in the minority here so I’ll just see myself out.

Told in dual POV, 1st person. It's the third (and the last) installment in the "Deception Trilogy" and has to be read in order. Even though this series with its characters was addictive but sometimes Adrian’s obsession with Lia, his possessiveness, and the need to control everything (especially everything related to Lia) was irritating. I’m glad I was finally able to see that Lia could tame her monster, her villain. Overall, I enjoyed this series (I wish there will be a book for Yan in the future) and hope you enjoy it as well!

OH MY GUCCI!!!

Posibles spoilers…

This is for the trilogy. I was much intrigued with this trilogy by how the writer set it up. This one could have been a 5 for me. But I can’t get behind him beating her with the belt and he never stopped it. But I guess she loved it so...
I also can’t do a 5 cause I skipped through a lot of the 3 books because of the bad treatment.
