The Secret Sorcerer by Nicole Demery creates such a fascinating and intoxicating effect on my heart! I absolutely love the masterful writing of the author that transfers me to a mystical world. The magic. The myths. The smartly interwoven worlds of art, adventure and paranormal creatures.

Cassandra Whelan's life has literally been turned upside down. This student of Irish Culture has now come to her childhood town to attend the business of her recently expired grandmother. And she is facing so many secrets and new information from Jonathan Lynch. The mysterious British sorcerer aka physicist aka executor of her grandmother's will. She always knew her grandmother was a powerful Seer but now she has visions, memories and information overload. The future seems dangerous and volatile while she deals with her own emotions.

This story isn't like any conventional paranormal or fantasy romance. Yes you get to see the spells, the visions and the action packed twists. But the details are mindblowing. I have to salute the author's vivid imagination and how she shared that with us. It was an intriguing journey into the Seer and Sorcerer's heart. And I feel like they are only humans like us. Only with heightened powers. Cassandra is confused and angry and frustrated as her whole life feels like a lie. She is heartbroken over her grandmother's violent death and now she is facing a dark future where she needs to tackle responsibilities she had no idea of. Neither does she know how to handle the changes her mind is going through. Jonathan is an enigma with so many shades and like Cassandra, I am oddly attracted to his charisma. They have an ethereal connection but they don't have the chance to explore it like normal people. His aloof, stern and brooding personality is pulling Cassandra like magnet at this hour of grief and loss. Because he is also a source of strength and empathy and support. Their conversations were enlightening and engrossing and I found myself anchored through the pages. The setting was equally amazing. The story ends with the future hanging by a thread. Cassandra and Jonathan's journey has just began. They have some evil forces to battle, some serious mysteries to unravel and some intense feels to sort.

Nicole Demery has created this dreamy and dramatic world in The Secret Sorcerer. Absolutely stunning locations. Some beautiful and complicated characters. Adrenaline rush in every page.

5 phenomenal fantasy stars!!

Cassandras world was turned upside down in The Mind Witch and as she returns home she realizes that the unknown is bigger than she ever expected!

As Cass learns hidden truths we are immersed into her world and I have to say I love every facet of it! I’m so intrigued by the world Demery has created and I want to know it all! This does end in another cliffhanger and it’s one that will raise your pulse and have you hanging on every word.

Wow! This second book in this new PNR series is incredible! It takes up where we left off in The Mind Witch with Cassandra going to find out what happened to her Grandmother. This story has so much suspense, mystery and intrigue it’s mind blowing! More comes to light about Cassandra and her interesting family with a mystery man included! Cassandra is an extremely likeable character and I enjoy everything about her. She’s a strong person, yet has a sensitive side to her as well. She’s a free spirit who just wants to live her life, but when something happens, her life as she knows it may drastically change.

This story draws you in from the very first paragraph, so much so that you won’t want to put this down until every last word is finished. The way this author writes makes you feel as if you are a part of the story. I could feel every thought, feeling and emotion. Now I can’t wait for the next book in this phenomenal series!!!

This whole story was captivating. I was glued to the pages needing to know what was going to happen next in Cassandra's life. This story made me think, in a good way! I had to follow along and I learned things along the way. I adore Cass! She is so strong and I'm so intrigued by her powers and what is going to come of them. Jonathan is still so mysterious and I cannot wait to find out more from and about him. There was never a moment I wanted to put this book down because it kept me on my toes the whole time. Giving me exactly what I needed, and yet keeping things hidden, forcing me to keep reading until I got answers. I am incredibly excited to continue this journey in The Last Selkie! Another brillant story in this series!

This is the 2nd book on the Magi Trilogy and it picks up right where the other one left off. Cassandra (Cassie) has flown out to Oregon to take care of her Gran's affairs. There she meets up with the mysterious green-eyed man from Boston who both fascinates and terrorizes her.

Cassie and Jonathan have an instant connection that was noticeable from their first meeting. As they spend more time together, Cassie realizes that he was a lot more involved with her Gran than he ever let on. But the mystery of how she died is still a pressing matter that is beginning to twist up more and more. The connection between Jonathan and Cassie is growing, too, but Jonathan is determined to keep it platonic.

There is so much going on in this book, you might better have your passport ready because you will be all over the place! I didn't want it to end! But, alas, it had to, like all good things. Book 3 will be out in no time! So grab this one while you can and sit back and enjoy!

With the passing of Cassandra’s grandmother, we find out in this book more of who Cassandra is and follow her to face her biggest fears of laying her grandmother to rest. Without giving any spoilers away, this book had me all over the place. Do I trust him? Her? What do this/that really mean??? What I can say is that you will be given a more in-depth of who her grandmother really is and who this mysterious green eyed person is. I feel like after finishing this book I have more of an understanding of what is needed for Cassandra and I can’t wait to see how everything unfolds in the next series. As always, so many questions going through my mind but I know that N. Demery would fail to answer them soon. I loved the journey that I felt we were on and can’t wait to see how everything comes together. I’m sure I won’t be disappointed!! Great read!

The Secret Sorcerer is the second installment in Nicole Demery's The Magi series. It continues following Cassandra Whelan as she is processing her grandmother's completely sudden, unexpected and suspicious death. Cassie takes a leave of absence from grad school to tie up some loose ends with her grandmother's estate. However, what she finds once she gets to her grandmother's cabin and once again crosses paths with the green-eyed man will forever change her life and all she thought she knew.

This book pulled me in from the very first page and still has my heart in a vice grip even after I've read the last page. The way the story line twists and turns, as well as the amount of detail and character development is truly masterful. Through much of this book, I felt more like a fly on the wall watching the scenes unfold before me instead of just reading them in a book. I highly recommend this book and this series (as all of the books need to be read together and in order) as they are so well written and entertaining. Now I am very impatiently awaiting the next book and conclusion of the series, The Last Selkie.

Book two in The Magi Series, The Secret Sorcerer, has sunk it claws into me and I cannot wait for book #3! The life Cassandra is living is blown out of the water! She must return home to settle affairs in the wake of her Gran's death. Learning that she is ill prepared for the magical world surrounding her, she wonders if she should continue her current path or the path laid out by her Gran.

The character development and discovery had me in awe for quite a bit of the book. The detailed imagination Nicole Demery paints is a mystical and beautiful view of how others actually see the world. It was like nothing else I have read. I reread pages because of the eloquent beauty at which she details the energy flowing in the world is beyond amazing.

The snippets of Jonathan and his powers are intriguing and compelling. How will he influence Cassandra's decision making process? Where will the relationship lead? Where did he come from? What was his true relationship with her Gran. So many questions and thoughts as I read this book. Can't wait to read the next book in the series - The Last Selkie!!

I'm going to start out by saying that you really must read The Mind Witch (Book 1) first before taking on The Secret Sorcerer since it's a continuing storyline. It's mind blowing how this author writes each colorful detail like it's everyday life, and I can't even fathom the imagination it took to write this epic adventure. There are secrets that don't make friends so the twists are coming in hot. Cassandra is dealing with her powerful seer grandmother's death, and coming into her own powers while Jonathan is still such a mystery despite the comfort he brings to Cassandra's life as she goes through the fire of uncertainty. They have a deep magical connection but with the responsibilities she has to deal with now, they aren't getting to see it through yet since a hell of a lot hinges on her. It all leads to another cliffhanger that has me dying inside so the next book cannot come quickly enough. Please don't miss out on this epic adventure because we all need this type of distraction in our lives! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

" You'll never live unless you live,"
~Gran

Gran has a tip for nightmares. Which is water and flick a few drop around your room and drink the rest of your water.

Chapter 1 is a emotional one. I don't want to spoil it. I will say that we see the magic that the family has and, it was truely emotional one.

Cass ehi is fey and Lynch is a dall{non-seer fey} do start off at enemies to friends. She did dream of green eyes. We do get entry of her dream journal which I love. I really hope they get together in book 3!

THE LETTER !! There is one part of the letter (am no going to spoil who) when she talk snout Death not finding what he seeks...are we going to meet death at some point in this series?
We learn about her birth right and, the Counof the Magi.

I love the quotes at the beginning of each chapter and some of the. Link with the chapter. To me they do some of them link with the story❤

1 year, 1 years to wait, 1 year to wait for revenge...
I love that last scene between them

4 and 1/2 stars

I love magical tales and this is a great one. All Cassandra wants is to be normal. Finish her study and teach. But when death comes knocking, it changes her life forever. It seems that Cassandra's grandmother kept many secrets from her and now those secrets are coming for her. She finds an unexpected ally in Jonathan Lynch but she isn't 100% certain whether she can trust him or not. After all, her grandmother taught her that there are no coincidences and yet there he is at every turn. Who is he really and what is his motive? Darkness is trying to steal secrets that don't belong to it. But will Cassandra be strong enough to keep them safe and herself? The path won't be easy and the journey difficult. I'm looking forward to seeing more of Cassandra and Jonathan and what their story holds.

Cassandra’s story continues in as the details surrounding Gran’s mysterious death begin to unfold. When she travels back to her home town to handle the arrangements regarding her grandmother’s estate, the reader gets a glimpse of Cassandra’s childhood and some pivotal moments that shaped the relationships with her parents. We’re also introduced to her best friend Reina and finally the enigmatic stranger from book one, Jonathan Lynch, whose intentions are still somewhat unclear. In The Secret Sorceror, Cassandra comes to terms with a devastating loss and the choice of whether to continue her grandmother’s legacy or forge her own path.
This is one of those novels you hate to see end. The characters are so interesting and multifaceted that you just want to know more about them. The slow reveal is a sweet torture but also speaks to the brilliance of the author’s writing style. Plus, the tension between Cassandra and Jonathan is killlllling me! Hurry up book 3!!

Magic and Mystery

The Secret Sorcerer is Part 2 in The Magi series and picks up the story from where the first book finished.

Cassandra has returned to her home town and makes an unwelcome discovery about her grandmother's death, while the mysterious green eyed man continues to be a presence in her life. This book moves the story forward with plenty of twists and turns, and we get further glimpses of Cassandra's abilities.

I'm really enjoying being taken on this magical and paranormal journey. The story is very intriguing and the characters are really well drawn, engaging and likeable. This is a suspenseful, curious story with enigmatic characters and a deadly shadowy evil presence lurking on the periphery, all very gripping and exciting. I thoroughly enjoyed the magical elements to this story, and I cannot wait for part 3.

Book one definitely wasn't long enough only a taste and book two although longer it wasn't long enough either. I'm really enjoying these books. The story is engaging the characters are enchanting and the mystery just continues to intensify.
Cassie and Jonathan have connection but it seems he also had one with Gran as well.
He is a bit of a mystery yet Cassie feels she can trust him.
As Cassie searches for answers to the mysterys facing she's going to need all the support she can get.
Can the keep their connection in the friend zone.
Can Gran help from where she is now? What of the black box?
So many things to come. And I'm so excited for more that I will say no more about book two get yours today!

I really enjoyed this book, even more than Part 1! It’s a fun, engaging read and the quick pacing kept me reading late into the night.  The Secret Sorcerer starts right where Part 1 left off and keeps you hooked from the beginning.  While Cassandra starts to uncover some of the mysteries surrounding the sorcerer that keeps appearing and the sudden death of her beloved gran, she discovers her own destiny is much more significant and with greater purpose than she ever imagined.  The author continues to build strong, relatable characters, which is one of my favorite parts of her writing– they’re so real!  They’re stubborn, head-strong at times, insecure, reluctant, and self-preserving, but above all, very human and very real.  I can’t wait to read the next part!

The Secret Sorcerer picks up where book 1 left off and Cass is off to try to figure out what happened to her grandma Penny. Penny has had a lot of secrets in her life and they’re all about to come crashing down on Cassandra’s shoulders. She’s also dealing with the sometimes salty Jonathon who wants her to trust him yet won’t afford her the same luxury. The dynamic between Cass and Jonathan is kind of strange, it’s tense and almost to a steamy level but not really? I hope in the future that there will be some growth there. There’s a lot of mystery around Penny’s death and Cass’ future and I think it’ll make for a wonderful series.

This world that Nicole Demery has created is filled with mystery, murder and magic. She holds you in suspense as you wait to find out exactly what is going on in Cassandra's life and how Jonathon fits into it all... it starts with her grams mysterious death and evolves around what she is and how she can harness her place in the magical world of the Fey. How Jonathon fits in and his role continous to be shown through out the book. She leaves us in a place were we feel Cassandra's strength and determination to get to the bottom of it all. And I love her passion in the wait for her grandmother's murderer. Well done Ms Demery I am looking forward to the next reveal.

AN AMAZING SORCERER/SCHOLAR

I anxiously waited for this book‼I knew it was going to be more exciting. I again became enthralled with the story line and of course the familiar characters, the magic and mystery with scholars. It picked up where The Mind Witch left off and it had mystery, action, great plot. I was glued to the story building up to the end. It goes without saying this will be a great read. The way Nicole Demery weaves this whole magical series so eloquently will captivate you and you'll love it. I can't wait to find out how she'll outdo it on installment 3‼ I'm sure she'll get it done. 100 Stars‼get your copy now.
I highly recommend you read The Mind Witch first.

Cassandra finds out her Grandmother is dead and goes to her house with Reina to sort it out. She arranged for a post - mortem to take place. Then Jonathan turns up she has now seen him in the three places she lives. Jonathan explained that he was her grandmother’s lawyer as well as being a scientist. Together they try to unravel what happened to her grandmother. Cassandra sees her grandmother being killed with her visions. This is a good story which goes a way to help Cassandra work out her thoughts and feeling and Jonathan tries to help her understand what is happening. I can’t wait to read the next book. I received an ARC for an honest review which I have given.

I loved everything about this book and how Cassandra's story has continued from The Mind Witch. The adventure, the mystery- it keeps you turning the pages and starving for more. The emotions Cassandra goes through, you feel in your core.

The ending isn't quite a cliffy, the story between books one and two are nicely tied together by the end of this book but you're definitely left yearning for more and have questions still begging to be answered but it's easy to hold on with this soft, slightly open-ended ending.

Wow! This is the second instalment of Nicole Demerys Magi series and boy does Nicole bring it all to the table. Cass has gone back to her childhood home after her grandmother mysteriously dies. The suspense and the intrigue in this book is epic. Every page has Cassandra finding something else mysterious about her Grandmothers mysterious life and even more mysterious death. And Jonathan is around every corner and is very closed mouthed about what he know. I can’t wait for the next part of this amazing adventure with Nicole Demery. 5⭐️s. It is truly an amazing read!

This author sure has an imagination - she weaved this story so tight - it was a pleasure to read.

The eye opening and scary, life adventure continues for Cassandra - with the help of new friend Jonathan, who was also a close friend of Cass's grandmother's, from back in Ireland.

She has no idea what her life is about, or about to be in the not so distant future - there are some dark forces looking for secrets that Cass can't give up - she has alot of learning to do - but first she has to finish school, then onto her Gran's expectations of what her 'fey' life must grow to encompass.

Wow....this book is so just WOW! I don't even know how to explain it. You should definitely read The Mind Witch first to get the full effect of this book. The story picks up where The Mind Witch left off and from there is just gets better and better. It is written in such a way that there is so much finesse and it is whimsical, magical, beautiful, and just a complete experience. I really got sucked into the story and instead of merely reading it I felt it. I found myself losing track of all time and just getting totally immersed in this world that Ms. Demery has created.

Should have been one book with the first - but as much as I like the main character and the developing story, please, I beg you to get a better editor - the sheer volume of typos, double words, incorrect grammar, spelling errors was distracting at best and made it difficult to follow. There is no excuse in any format for those kinds of errors in that quantity. I felt like i was reading a poorly edited final paper and wanted desperately to get out my red correction pen.

Hoping the next book in the series is better.

The second book in The Magi Series is even more incredible than the first! The characters have a depth to them that I can only find with this author. The amount of detail that goes into this work is perfection, transporting us across the globe to be with Cassandra as she continues to learn more about who and what she is. This installment has immersed me in this world and I cannot wait for the conclusion! The Secret Sorcerer is a must read!

Wow. The way this book started out had me immediately hooked. I was spellbound. I couldn't wait to unearth every secret. The heroine is this smart, stubborn woman who is trying to find her way, and the hero is mysterious, knows a lot more than he lets on, and is seriously vexing to the heroine. I cannot wait to see what is discovered in the next book.

This is a page turner. There are so many twists and turns, you won’t want to stop reading. The character dynamics are amazing. Cass is an amazingly, strong woman who is quickly learning not everything was what it seemed to be. There are many more secrets to uncover and lessons to be learned for Cass. Hopefully along the way, she’ll be able to find true happiness.
