Boys of Bridgewater #3

My Foolish Heart

Rate this book
“Too early seen unknown, and known too late.” ~Juliet Capulet

Of all the women in the world, or at least in Bridgewater, why did I have to fall for this one?

When she walked into my brother’s wedding reception, I fell quick and hard. Until I learned her name.

Nope. No way. Not for me.

I have no intention of dating my biggest competitor. The new owner of Mama Leoni’s Restaurant is clearly off-limits. But when a local newspaper links us as a couple, my brother suggests we play it up for “good press.”

I agree.

For the sake of my new restaurant.

Not because the mere sight of Evie Fuller sets my blood on fire.

Turns out the only thing more complicated than a fake relationship with my biggest rival is a real one. This situation has gotten out of hand much too quickly.

Time to cool it down or risk getting burned.

Tristano is here!
And wow does he enter with charisma and passion, this man will have your heart beating faster and you drooling at every page.
He’s romantic, thoughtful, entertaining and enjoyable to read and fills the whole book with his own special moments.

Evie has no family left and is struggling to keep her restaurant in the public eye, she up against, her nemesis and the man who has her affection, Tristano, and his new venture, a restaurant in the same town.
This means competition for customers is fierce, when it’s award time and the judges visit both establishments, will the two be able to make it through without them falling out.

Awesome writing and enjoyable reading from Bella, loving this series.

I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review

4.5 stars!

Bella Michaels’ books never cease to amaze me with their swoony small-town scenes, that leave you with a smile on your face. I can’t believe this author is so early in her writing career, you really wouldn’t know it. My Foolish Heart is an enemies to lovers romance between rival restaurant owners Tristano and Evie in small town Bridgewater, Pennsylvania.

Tristano and Evie eyes quite literally meet across a crowded room at her friend Chari’s wedding reception. Tris is blown away by the gorgeous woman he sees at his brother’s wedding reception, however, Evie knows exactly who Tris is, the man who opened up a rival Italian restaurant in the same town as her late mother’s Mama Leoni’s, which she has come home to run. Tris can’t understand why they are drawing looks when he asks her to dance until he learns that who she really is, the owner of his restaurant’s biggest competitor. But when they work out the buzz around their supposed romance is causing press, they decide there is no such thing as bad press and to go with it. But of course, feelings get involved, and they soon learn they are rivals in more ways than one, as both restaurants are up for a prestigious culinary award. Can they move past the competition and see they are meant for each other, or were they doomed from the start?

Tris and Evie’s chemistry was clear from their first dance to Sinatra at the wedding reception, and Bella did such a great job of making the reader feel that coming off the page. The will-they-won’t-they around their growing feelings for one another was the perfect level of angst, as they made excuse after excuse to run into each other, when really all they wanted was to spend time together. Their first date has to be one of the most unique and downright swoony scenes I have ever read, I fell for Tris alongside Evie. But how Bella included Evie’s grief and how she felt alone after losing both her parents was one of my favourite inclusions, it was so well written. I loved seeing how Evie was quickly accepted and loved by Tris’s family, which helped her heal that hole in her heart, and Evie helped Tris see that he was successful in his own right, and to not compare himself to his brother.

It was nice to see previous characters too, and I can’t wait to see which couple from Bridgewater we will get to see fall in love next! This has to be my favourite book from this series so far, Tris and Evie despite being natural competitors proved that you can put your rivalry to one side for the sake of love!

ROMANCE AT IT’S VERY BEST!!! My Foolish Heart by Bella Michaels is book 4 in the Boys of Bridgewater series and I am confessing that My Foolish Heart has been my very favorite in this series so far. Don’t get me wrong, I have loved this entire series and yes I have read them all but this has to be one of the most romantic book I have ever read. I have a new Italian Stallion and his name is Tristano!!! What I absolutely loved about this book is being a Philadelphia girl myself I get to read of a lot of places that I have been to and the fact that my all time favorite romance song is The Way You Look Tonight is feature in this book several times…. Oh Sigh!!! Bella has taken her writing to new levels and this book is so very well written, I couldn’t put it down and yet I was so very sad that I had finished all too soon. I loved the one-liners such as”Hello McFly” from Back to the Future and “Holly Crap on a Cracker” from Big Bang Theory… totally cracked me up. I can honestly say that I defiantly escaped into another place and there could have been a earthquake and I would have never known I was that engrossed in this book. This story has enemies to lovers, restaurant competition, feeling alone, never having a serious relationship, good and supportive friends, a wedding that has finally happened, a loss of both parents, a big and hard working family, a billionaire brother, a ruse for publication, big dreams and love at first sight. This book has is all and if you want to get the feeling of “A Little Italian” I am highly recommending this book… I know you will absolutely love it.

***This book was gifted to me and I am voluntarily reviewing.

What a ride! Great read!!

Tristano..... exactly as pictured on the cover of this book. And he's not only passionate about his restaurant, he's also passionate about the woman who walked into his brother's wedding. A woman he couldn't keep his eyes off of. And after a few minutes of talking to her, he was in. That is, until he found out who she was.

Evie.... is someone who immediately finds her way into your heart. Both parents are gone and she wants nothing more than to make her restaurant a success to honor their memory. That, and the Cucina award that will put her restaurant on the map. And the guy hitting on her at the wedding has no idea who she is....this should be fun.

FAVORITE LINE IN THE BOOK:
"You're suggesting we do what exactly?" My answer is yes. Yes, yes, yes. To whatever he's proposing.

My other favorite couldn't be quoted here without spoiling it for the next reader. Just know the speech Tris gives his brother and sister in their kitchen warmed my heart like the Grinch when he realized the meaning of Christmas.

Loved this story...mostly because the lovebug bit when they least expected it. Both of them knew their feelings would interfere with their restaurant life....it's bad for business, right? Hmmm.... Seems to me love will always find a way when it's the right one.

This author has managed to keep me guessing with each book so far in this series. Evie and Tris shouldn’t work, but they do. They shouldn’t want each other, but they do. And they CERTAINLY shouldn’t try to make a real relationship out of some dumb PR luck, but they definitely do. I love how they played off of each other’s strengths to diminish their weaknesses, and I truly loved the surprises Tris, Enzo, and a mystery guest orchestrated for Evie along the way.

At first, I was worried that Tristano wouldn’t be the guy I hoped he was. After all, he’s a bit of a hothead sometimes. But I shouldn’t have worried because he showed his true colors soon enough. Sure, he needed to learn to trust Evie sooner, and he definitely had a couple of slip-ups, but Evie proved to be just as human. After all, she needed to protect her heart, her legacy, and her dreams before just believing that Tris really had her best interests in mind. But once these two figured it out, that happiness shone so brightly that I was disappointed when their story came to an end. Oh, well. I guess now I just have to wait to see who finds their perfect someone and the dreams they never thought they’d achieve in this series.

This is the third book in the Boys of Bridgewater Series but can be read as a standalone. I think you'll get more enjoyment if you read the series as each book features a different brother. You can't help but fall in love with Tristano and Evie. They have so much passion and spirit. Their chemistry is off the charts and they are fun. They both have a lot of emotion and will definitely take you through some ups and downs. They're rivals in the restaurant business but their hearts win out. A great book that is hard to put down. Bella Michaels is a masterful writer and it's very evident in this book. The story line will keep you guessing and page turning. The characters are well developed and draw you in immediately. A great read that I know you will enjoy. I read an arc via the author and voluntarily chose to review it.

My Foolish Heart by Bella Michaels is a book in her Boys of Bridgewater series and I LOVED it! Evie and Tristano won me over and had me giddy and on the edge of my seat from start to finish!

The competition is heated, the CHEMISTRY is sizzling, and the conversations will have you chuckling and SWOONING and everything in between! It will definitely deliver on giving you all of the FEELS.

Evie is so sweet and endearing and sassy and feisty and fiery! She's so incredibly strong, and I really admired her and her persistence and her growth.

And Tristano? GOODNESS GRACIOUS me but what a hunk of a man! Tris is driven, he is charming, he is compelling. And the sparks fly off the page with each interaction!

If you're looking for a story that will take you on one HECK of an emotional rollercoaster ride of a journey and will also teach you about the true sentiment of family, loyalty, trust, and love, you need My Foolish Heart in your life!

P. S. Cole and Zara! Utterly charming!

P. P. S. Gian is hilarious! And I'm intrigued by Amy! And Brax! Honestly, the whole host of secondary characters was a true delight.

P. P. P. S. I thoroughly recommend listening to some Sinatra whilst reading this! It'll make it even better!

P. P. P. P. S. I want a negroni...and pepper cookies! Basically this story just left me hungry and drooling, for various...things...haha!

Is their anything better then reading about someone else's ridiculous family?
Okay maybe not ridiculous but the Deluca family sure is a handful. And I really find them endearing in this series.
The Boys of Bridgewater has definitely become one of my favorite series and I knew I was going to love Tris, with his bossy take charge attitude. And let me say. Bella Michaels did not disappoint me either. Tris was even better the I could have imagined. Strong and vulnerable, sexy and sweet, smart and determined.
Than there's Evie, I really loved Evie. She's all alone in pretty much every sense except that her family now is all of her own choosing. Lucky for her she's got some great friends.
These two people are the perfect example of opposites attracting except they're really not opposites at all they're two book ends waiting for someone to help them realize there place.
I already can't wait for the next book. At least I hope there's more and although she's not a boy I really hope Lus gets her own story too. 💗

4 star review My Foolish Heart by Bella Michaels
Bella Michaels is a new author to me and I am surprised that I have not come across her books before now. My Foolish Heart was an entertaining read that had me hooked from the first to the last chapter.
I found Evie and Tristano easy to relate too and I liked them both separately and together. When they met at Tris’s brothers wedding reception he had no idea that the woman he was falling for his business rival.
What starts off as pretense, a publicity stunt , a fake relationship soon becomes complicated when real feelings become involved. They both have baggage and find it hard to trust and Evie is struggling to run her family restaurant after the recent death of her father.
Tris and Evie are opposites, they shouldn’t work and yet they do; as their relationship blossoms, they learn to trust one another. Their journey was rocky but once they got their act together they found love and happiness.

Small town. Big dreams. Foolish hearts. Evie and Tris write their own love story. Out of tragedy comes a second chance. Michaels gives the soul a canvas to bleed and rejuvenate itself. From heartache to new beginnings she speaks to emotions on a deeper level. My Foolish Heart gives the heart a reason to smile, even if a few tears are shed along the way.

I am absolutely loving this series and I loved Tris and Evie!

My Foolish Heart was perfection and my favourite of the series so far!

Tris was so swoony! From the minute Tris & Evie met their chemistry was electric! I was completely hooked and couldn't put it down.

Tris is just opening up his new Italian restaurant after working in the family pizzeria all his life. Evie has come back to town after a family bereavement that has left her as an orphan and has taken over the running of her mothers Italian restaurant.

Tris and Evie are business rivals, though initially Tris doesn't realise this, then when their eyes meet each other across the dance floor at Tris' brothers wedding business isn't the only thing on their minds!

Another 5 star read from Bella and I can't wait to see who is next in the series.

My favorite of the series...Tris and Evie. While this book can be read as a standalone, I'm so glad I read all the prior books. We see Zara and Cole from Overruled by Love, we get a glimpse of Hayden and Ada from Last Call, and Chari and Enzo from Billion Dollar Date. Knowing what I know of all these characters, just made this story that much better.

Tris and Evie have competing restaurants. When Evie dances with Tris, he has no idea who she is, but the chemistry is flowing between the two. I really enjoyed getting to know these two and I loved the parts everyone else played in the book.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I fell in love with the premise of this story. I expected fireworks and delicious banter. What I didn't expect was the heartfelt moments between the characters that felt authentic. I wasn't sure how this story was going to turn out but knew that it would be cute. And it was. It was a quick read and one that was very enjoyable to watch unfold. I liked how the author didn't take the typical approach of making these two arch enemies in the typical sense but instead showed how feelings might be hurt, even if unintentional. There were parts that were pretty cliche but this is romance and that comes with the territory a lot of the time. The cliche parts weren't enough to make me eye roll or want to stop reading. If anything, it just made the story that much cuter.

I will be looking for more books by this author in the future. I recommend this book to anyone just needing a palette cleanser and something that will make them feel better.

Arc for honest review . Bella is one of my very favorite authors, I am a lover of all her books , and my foolish heart is no different . I completely fell in love with Tristano and Evie , so much chemistry between these two , Tristano has so much charisma and passion , yet is such a romantic at heart and so so very thoughtful. Evie has no family and is struggling to keep her restaurant from shutting down . Although Tristan is supposed to be her arch enemy the attraction between them is very evident. Will they find a way to work though their differences and be together . I loved everything about this Book and cannot wait to see what comes next ❤️💜

[1.25 star] didn't really connect with the book, execution could have been better i think. book felt a little choppy at times.

also, the repeated mentioned of the heroine having fancy education or fancy culinary experience while the hero is totally opposite who did not went to college or culinary school feels a bit childish.

Evie is running her late mother’s Italian restaurant and morning the resent death of her father. Tristano recently left the family pizzeria business to open up his own Italian restaurant. These two have rival restaurants yet their chemistry is off the charts. Can they keep a relationship separate from their businesses? Would this really work? This was a great quick read. The banter between the brothers was very entertaining. I especially enjoyed how they both wanted successful restaurants for different reasons. Once again Bella delivered a well written enjoyable read.

My first read of this series and author.

To say this is my first look into this series it wasn't difficult to catch up some.

Both have an instant connection, but their businesses should be the reason they won't work. Their journey had it's challenges but their love was stronger.

Beautifully written.

My Foolish Heart is the third book in the Boys of Bridgewater series by Bella Michaels. It’s the first book I have read in the series, but I don’t feel like I missed anything by not reading the first two books. Although after finishing this book I really want to go back and read them. The book was fast-paced and caught my attention from the beginning. The Deluca family was tight-knit, and the siblings were boisterous with plenty of witty banter when they got together.
Tristano “Tris” Deluca was certainly swoon-worthy with his romantic gestures and determination in pursuing Evie Fuller. He was able to see the real Evie and understand her loneliness and goals. Evie had no family left and wanted to continue the legacy of her mother’s restaurant. They were direct competitors in the small town with them both owning an Italian restaurant, but their goals were different. Good communication between Evie and Tris became the most important factor of their relationship. I was so glad they were able to work it out in the end.
I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read the first two books. (The entire series is currently available as Kindle Unlimited.) I look forward to future books in the series and more of the Deluca family get-togethers.
I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Trisano meets Evie at his brother's wedding, and they hit it off quickly until he learns who she is, his competition. He has a new restaurant aiming for an award, and Evie needs that award so she can make her place a success in her deceased parents' memory so let the games begin. Things take a more complicated turn when they end up in a relationship which is supposed to be fake when real feelings are being caught so you already know that this journey is going to get bumpy since they're complete opposites. However, opposites do attract & they're perfect for each other but will they learn to trust the other for a shot at an amazing future?! There wasn't anything about this book that I didn't love making it impossible to put down until every last page was finished, then leaving me wanting more because I couldn't get enough. And I believe you'll totally feel the same after y'all hit those one click buttons so what are you waiting for?! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

As I worked for more than twenty years in gastronomy I know somewhat how it is to have relationships when working late hours with no bank holiday, weekends and having holidays when everybody else has... and Bella Michaels iced this one. A lovely romance! The characters are so in sinc with each other it isn’t even funny anymore. Made to love and hear the sound of their foolish hearts. Because it just can’t be. The owners of two competing upscale restaurants can’t be a thing. Or can they??? It is such a nice read and a wonderful HEA! I greatly enjoyed reading the story of Evie and Tristano and am waiting to see which of the two remaining De Lucas will be hitched next. Will Gio find his match or will Lusanne be the one? If it’s Lusanne, perhaps Brax could play a role??? So many questions and only one solution: waiting for the next installment of Boys of Bridgewater <3

My Foolish Heart was a fun and enjoyable light read. Great storyline, wonderful characters, and just enough to keep you guessing how things would go down. This is my first book by this author and I did not struggle at all to keep up with events going on with characters from previous books. Evie and Tristano have an instant connection and hot chemistry from the first moment of contact. Where they should be rivals operating Italian restaurants in the small town this is a story of love and working together rather than pulling the other down and into a war to win. Tristano was so sweet and sexy and I loved his big Italian family and how welcoming they were towards Evie. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a light read with minimal angst.

This is the first book I have read of this author. I was hooked from chapter 1. Tristano and Evie are the perfect couple despite initially thinking they are ‘enemies’. Having competing restaurants, they think a relationship is not in the cards. When passion and chemistry are unbreakable, it doesn’t matter what your job is! These two are the perfect couple and their competitive businesses really compliment each other. The DeLuca family is your great big Italian family and Evie fits right in. I loved this book!

I received this as an arc for my honest review

This was a cute story. I liked the sort of enemy to lover theme. Tris and Evie had great chemistry from the start and I liked the flow of the story. I liked that even though I haven’t read all the previous books it’s easy to engage in the story’s world and I feel that there are more stories to be told. I really want to see what’s next.

This is book three in this story and it takes place during Enzo and Chari's wedding and beyond. It stars Tristano who is Enzo's older brother and who runs a successful Italian restaurant in town.

At the wedding a brand new character, Evie meets Tris and he has no idea who she is but they share a dance and flirty looks. Once everyone shares that she owns a rival Italian restaurant in town Tris ghosts her until they run into each other at events around town.

In this story we meet two of Tris's siblings and well I hope the author writes their stories. They both help Tris with his restaurant and his brother suggests he fake date Evie for free publicity. And thats how the two start to get to know each other as they spend time with each other.

This story was really interesting and a bit different than I expected. Tris has a huge family and is very supportive. He grew up cooking with his dad and with the support of his parents and siblings he went out and created his own restaurant and its a huge success.

Evie on the other hand is very much alone. Her mother died many years before and her father has died as well. The restaurant holds memories of her parents and she works hard at it but has no supporting family at all. Its a tribute everyday to her parents and she wants it to succeed because of what it meant to her mother who opened the restaurant and ran it when Evie was a child.

It was a really interesting story with an awesome set of characters and I loved how they each love their restaurant but it means two very different things to them. I cannot wait to see what is next from this author.

I received a free ARC copy of this book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

"Someday, when I'm awfully low
When the world is cold
I will feel a glow just thinking of you
And the way you look tonight

I wish my Foolish Heart would stop beating so fast after reading this swoon-worthy, must-read by Bella Michaels. I have eagerly awaited the next book in the Brothers of Bridgewater series because I have been missing a touch of good old fashion romance reading, that is not only deliciously hot but has a great story attached to it, and once again Ms. Michaels delivered it all on mass. You can't get much more romantic than dotting the lyrics to the Frank Sinatra song, ' The Way You Look Tonight throughout the book. The romance was set as I settled down for what I knew was going to be a must-read.

I hope like me you fall in love with Tristano and Evie as they navigate their growing feelings for each other while being rival Italian restaurant owners in Bridgewater. Evie's mom passed away when she was a teenager and her dad died just recently. So Evie is back in Bridgewater to fulfill her destiny and take over 'Mama Leoni's, the restaurant her dad brought for her mom. Evie has trained with the best chief's and now with The Cucina Award up for grasp, it could put Mama Leoni's on the map. Evie hasn't seen Tristano in years, as the owner of her competition 'Deluca's II', she has managed to steer clear of him. A wedding is about to change all that, but what will happen when Tristano realises who this beauty is. Can rivals ever be anything other than rivals.?

4,5 Stars for My Foolish Heart ( Boys of Bridgewater #4)
Bella Michaels is fast becoming one of my go to authors, I adore her characters and I always fall hook, line and sinker for their stories, this is Evie and Tristano’s fake romance and I’m sure like me you will be drawn in and captivated by their tale.
This couple meet at Tris’s brothers wedding reception and as the evening progresses it’s clear the attraction is mutual but Tris has no idea the woman he is falling for is his business rival.
Evie has no family and is doing her best to keep her restaurant in the public eye what she doesn’t need is to fall for her competition who has just opened up his restaurant in the sane town. Tris and Evie come to an arrangement that hopefully will see both their restaurants succeeding and when a local paper links them as a couple they decide to use this for their own advantage but what happens when feelings come into play, what happens when the judges arrive and only one restaurant can win...
Will Evie and Tris get past only one winner or will their competition tear them apart .........
I fell hard and fast for Tris and I adored Evie, the chemistry they share is scorching hot, the banter is witty but what took this book to another level was the love that blossomed as this couple learnt to trust each other, the road wasn’t smooth for Evie and Tris but once they learnt to trust, happiness followed. This hook will appeal to all romance lovers and I highly recommend this gem of a read.

MY FOOLISH HEART

This is the 3rd book in this amazing series and is Tristano and Evie’s story. Tris is running his Italian restaurant which he is passionate about, and when he spots Evie at his brother’s wedding, he is instantly attracted to her and the sparks fly, that is until he finds out who she is. Evie is in town to make a success of her mom’s Italian restaurant in honour of her parents’ memory, and she is Tris’ direct competition. The chemistry between these two is sizzling and undeniable. This is a well written story which is entertaining, fun, humorous, and an all-round entertaining and heartwarming tale, with family and love. I was totally intrigued and hooked throughout this riveting tale, and I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Wonderfully crafted romance

Ms. Michaels wrote another book for the Boys of Bridgewater. Tris and Evie's story was just as compelling as the others in the series.
I really enjoyed My Foolish Heart because of the issues that were presented and the way they were resolved; sibling rivalry, professional rivalry, loss and navigating a relationship. I especially liked the way Michaels' wrote about the issues. There weren't contrived scenes or deliberate plots of angst. The story flowed and the characters were well developed.
I can't wait to continue reading this series. If you haven't read Bella Michaels yet, give her a try.
