This was my last Tijan book to read, I have now read them all. And yes I read Carter Reed before this one.

I really enjoyed the ‘hidden underbelly’. Knowing that there’s something there but we don’t have any details and we’re just waiting for it all to happen. I did not see the twist coming. That completely blindsided me! From that moment on I could not put the book down until I finished it.

Live Your Happy will forever be a favourite line now and this goes down as one of my favourite Tijan books.

Mafia romance are amongst my favorite reads and Tijan delivered all the feels in this one.
I loved the intense connect between Addison and Cole. The story created a mysteriousness that kept me intruiged and engaged right through. The Characters are well developed and grow throughout the story. I really enjoyed the natural flow to the story and Tijan's writing style, I will be looking for more books from this author !

To tell you the truth, I can't recall one book from this author that I haven't enjoyed, but honestly, this one gripped me from the start and didn't let go. If it wasn't for the ridiculous necessity to occasional get sleep, I would have read this in one sitting. To my own detriment I didn't start Cole until 9.30 pm and so by 1 am (and after a week of Cyclone watching, crazy storms, flood watching and the most ridiculously busy work schedule) my eyes gave out and words blurred. But, up at 6 am and back into it. Cole is the bad boy you've been secretly pining for... Handsome, confident, rich, fiercely protective and scarily deadly - and his story will grip you. If you loved Carter Reed, you'll gobble this up faster than a Tim Tam and hot Milo. Tijan, thanks again for another great read, you rock!!!

That was quite a build up. This is my first Tijan book. I haven't read Carter Reed. I am going to now. "Who is Cole Mauricio?" Oh my. Tall, dark and handsome. "The others walked, but he stalked in a sensual way. He moved like a predator." I could picture it vividly in my head. I felt the question in my head just like Addison. I loved the mystery, the build up of character. I craved to know more about him. More of their story, of others. There are so much to know even though this book closed their story. It was intense, never a dull moment. It kept me awake and never wanting to stop reading. It was quite a read. I am addicted. I love it. I absolutely loved it.

This was a pretty 'okay' book in general. Story line, characters, romance. None of it was terrible, but none of it wowed me. I've heard great things about Tijan as an author, her other books being highly valued and rated. I haven't read her other books yet, but I can definitely see why there would be lots of hype. Tijan is a good writer. Don't let my low review discourage you, there was not a grammatical or spelling mistake in the whole book I spotted, a HUGE bonus for me especially considering this is an e-book from Amazon, where the books are notorious for bad spelling and grammar mistakes.

But I was a little disappointed by the whole book. Nothing stood out to me, nothing was memorable. And for that I can't give it much higher than a 3- 3.5. I'll definitely have to check out some of the other books Tijan has written though .

I loved the Carter Reed books and always thought nobody could top him but then along came Cole Mauricio. I loved him and Addison together. I loved getting to know Addison and Sia and I really really really hope that there is going to be a second book because I need more Cole in my life!!

You know, when you read something and all along, as you read more, there is only one thing that comes to your mind and its the feeling of being more and more impressed with each line. You know... when you can't stop the feeling growing and you surrender to it as you flip the pages? That's how I felt reading Cole! I think it's one of the most brillant, intelligent, captivating story I've read in a while and not because I haven't read anything smart; I did. But there is something different about this book that goes beyond smartness. This is a different type of Mob novel. The story is filled with unpredictable twists, but it's also built on strong roots from the beginning. The intensity the author grows between Cole and Addison not only takes you in, you can almost feel it yourself. Fairly detailed yet not overstocking too much unnecessary informations, I did drowned in Tijan's univers and got out of it thankful of the journey. I couldn't bypass this though: "it's brillant", all the way to the end. Because it is. It's one of the most intelligent mob story I've even read (twice as true). It's not a love story, it's not a mob story like the Godfather; its the perfect merging of both, equally balance, fulling tinted of passion! I usually like what I read to be erotic and hot; Tijan tamed that into something more sophisticated that locked me in, feeding me with something else. I couldn't stop reading because my mind was ignited and I loved it! It sincerely reopened the appreciation of an intelligent story that could bring me something else. And I loved it. But the passion was at the "rendez-vous". She was able to grow a breathtaking and unbearable one between Cole and Addison. Her way to describe the connection, the feelings and the unbreakable link between them is so realistic, so fluide, that you fall for both of them. This is the story I secretly wanted to read. I'm sold to this author now. This is just the beginning for me. Five star? More, if I could.

An engaging and exciting read! This is my first book I have read from this author. The beginning completely captivates the reader and before you now it, you're committed and unable to it this book down. I love the dark and sexy description of when Cole and Addison exchange glances.
The mystery surrounding Cole builds wonderful tension into the romance between Addison and him.
"He was beautiful, like a fallen angel, but so lethal at the same time."- Addison
The ancillary characters of Sia and Jake add color and dimension to the story.
All in all, a compelling setup for a story to knock the readers socks off. The writing is beautiful descriptive prose and the story has a "twisty" trope.
Just a few minor personal observations. While the sex scenes start out great, I prefer a more explicit description of loving erotic sex and a man with the "dark an dangerous" vibe of Cole would surely do more then have missionary position sex? Hearing from him about his explicit desires would also add a whole new level of sexy to this book. Perhaps this is a deliberate choice of the writer who knows her particular audience and their level of comfort with sex description?
In the same way the plot setup was stellar but when it came time to put the pieces together from the climax on, the story was a bit convoluted and the reasons for behaviors earlier by characters did not ring true to a "Mafia" mentality. I was left with the feeling of not really having known much about Cole at all, what his days are like, what he likes, what other than running and taking care of horses does he like to do? As his name is the book's title, the reader should know so much more about him. I would even like a frank description of all of his body naked, sparing NO detail.
There are so many varied reasons behind our desire to read different books in different genres. The romance genre for women offers that quiet escape to the mind from day-to-day
reality. Exciting, sexy stories generally suit the purpose. This story is one such exciting story and if you like your sexy mild to medium, than this is the perfect level of heat for you.
