Casey Carradine has a knack for managing people’s lives. When she agrees to step up to the plate and help Ross dig his way out of the debris of his failed marriage, it shouldn’t be a hard task. After all, she’s run her rockstar sister’s life for years.

Look out Girls, Ross Davies is going to steal your heart and run away with it. He is the sexy and broken hero you don’t want to miss!! In Jiffy Kate’s newest book, The Ace and the Assistant, you re-meet ace pitcher Ross Davies and Casey Carradine from the Revelers book The Rookie and the Rockstar. I love how these writers continue to weave all their characters into each other’s story lines. It makes every story feel like home and always like a reunion. Ross Davies is coming hot off a divorce and is in need of an assistant. When his teammate and friend Bo’s girlfriend Lola ( aka Charlotte) suggests that he use her sister Casey, who is her assistant, to help him get things back on track, Ross reluctantly agrees. What he doesn’t know is that Casey has a major crush on him, and truly doesn’t want to take this job because she literally doesn’t think she can handle being around his holy HOTNESS with her crush, and doesn’t want to embarrassed herself. She is much younger than Ross , so she doesn’t have the same life experience. She is adorable and very mature for her age and has just the right amount of sassiness and confidence to pull off this job. She’s a go getter, and as time goes on, she feels conflicted with her emotions and feelings toward Ross. Casey’s lusty and dreamy thoughts leap from the pages and you are screaming for her to just GO FOR IT!!! Yes, things eventually get hot between them and neither knows what hit them when the emotions start to unfurl themselves. In true Jiffy Kate fashion, the UST is off the chart and when they finally give into each other, it’s like napalm going off. They have significant hurdles to jump through for their happy ending, but the ride is sweet and drama filled. Jiffy Kate tackles the hard emotions of divorce, re-awakenings, trust, integrity, and the art of knocking down the walls that one builds around themselves to protect their heart. All these things weave into a fabulous book you don’t want to miss.

Can a book be smooth, like butter? Because this was just smooth (ok now I’m channeling Santana but you get my drift). I couldn’t put this book down. It was real, raw, heartfelt, sweet, emotional ... Life happens when you least expect it and that couldn’t have been truer for Casey and Ross. I’m in love with these two and I wasn’t ready for it to be over. They weathered so many storms in a short amount of time but it brought them closer together and made them stronger for it. And to sweeten this book even more we got to see a few of our favorite characters from others stories from awesome Jiffy Kate past. I love revisiting other characters from other storylines. Slight glimpses into windows of time to see character growth while experience new love and life experiences. I could gush about this one forever. Casey and Ross, thank you for the book hangover. Now I have to read you again and hopefully get you out of my system. Ok I’m totally going to fan girl over Ross Davies, sorry Casey.

Love lost, self discovery, hope for the future, determination and overcoming what we feel is impossible (we are our own worst enemy after all), it’s all here. Going into this one I couldn’t help but reflect on 2020 and how suitable this was. It’s a reminder that no matter how dark we think things are now, there is light at the end of the tunnel. As long as there’s hope, there’s happiness, just give it time. You got this.

A Swoon Worthy Hero a strong but shy woman who crushed on our hero for years if you mix those two together you are left with a brilliantly written story that will keep you coming back for more.

I haven't read the first book in the series but it is downloaded and ready to go - it surely be a must read if the 'Ace and The Assistant' is anything to go by!

STEADY
STRONG
SEXY

Ross is all those things but when his college sweetheart and wife leaves him and now divorced for 8 months Ross's confidence has been knocked. Ross was one of those husbands that when he married he thought it was for ever, children some day who would be brought up in the same warm loving way he had! Unfortunately that was not to be but now with Baseball summer camp nearly upon him he needs to get his life back on track and his throwing arm on target as leader of the Revelers that's what he should be doing leading!

Bo Bennett and Charlotte 'Lola" Carradine (from the first book in the series - The Rookie and The Rockstar stage and intervention and come up with a solution where Charlottes sister who also happens to be her assistant will help Ross by getting his life back on track and work as his assistant. Sounds like a plan only trouble is the chemistry and sparks fly between the two from the moment they start working together is getting hotter and htter. Although they have know each other a few year's they have only ever been friends but now things are about to get a lot more complicated.

Casey's thoughts have been written in such a way you truly do believe your in her mind! She has never been a daydreamer always focusing on the hear and now. Ross is unsure what is happening, the more time he spends with Casey the more he misses her when is away. Like a moth to a flame he is drawn to her, she has a quite unspoken calmness about her that settles the storm inside him. But what happens when the unexpected happens will Casey be able to still keep the storm at bay!

I loved how Casey never wanted the spotlight, even though her sister is famous. There was never any drama between the two just a really great love and friendship between two sisters. The cameo roles of Charlotte and Bo where perfect and would love to see this follow through to the next book in the series! Ross is a perfect book boyfriend I feel in love with him Jiffy Kate has potrayed him wonderfully he is one that makes you deep *sigh* throughout the story which is just how I like my romances. Well done!

Loved it!

This is my second book by Jiffy Kate and is very different from the first one I read (Watch and See). The Ace And The Assistant is a:
🤍 Forbidden
🖤 Accidental Baby
🤍 Sports Romance

Ross is a sexy, baseball player. After the breakdown of his marriage, he is lost. Desperately in need of help, he hires his teammate’s girlfriend’s little sister to organize his life, and take care of things before he leaves for spring training.

Casey is a ray of sunshine. Although young, she has a good head on her shoulders. She has a strong relationship with her older and famous sister, and understands the needs of a celebrity. When the opportunity to work for Ross presents itself she accepts, even though she has a crush on him.

What happens next is a series of events that leads to the two of them falling in bed together. For Ross, it’s a reawakening, a return to the living, breathing, sexing world. For Casey, it’s the best sex of her young life. Since my weak spot is a sexy athlete, my favorite part of the story was Ross and he was also my least favorite part. Confused much? I was, a bit, by his initial hot/cold response to Casey. He was insanely attracted to her and his feelings continued to grow but his hesitancy and indecisiveness at a certain point, was nerve wracking. But, once he removed his head from his a**, it was all good.

TBR and Enjoy - The Ace And The Assistant.

Another great Jiffy Kate book full of all the feels, I laughed, had a couple of tears, and fell in love with Ross and Casey.

Casey Carradine has had a small crush on Ross Davies for a while now, so small it's not even worth mentioning. Pro baseball star Ross Davies has had a rough year, first, his wife asked for a divorce, then his pitching game tanked. Needing help with getting his personal life back in order, Ross hires Casey as an assistant. He can definitely ignore the fact that he thinks she's hot, especially now that he's her boss too. They quickly learn they can only hide their feelings for so long.

First, I love Jiffy Kate and their seamless writing. Second, I want to thank them for giving up the goods at 13%, there was no 50% and still no kiss. Third, that cover (imagine a heart eyes emoji here). I adored this book for multiple reasons, it really did make me have a big range of emotions, I was nervous for Casey, my heart ached for Ross, and I was furious with Felicia. I loved the development of Ross and Casey's relationship.

"...what's something you miss when you're on the road?"
Ross pauses, bringing his hand up to his mouth and pinching his lips in thought. "I'd have to say the peanuts."

And cue the tears. I highly recommend snagging a copy of The Ace and the Assitant
Huge thanks to Jiffy Kate for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I’ll start off by saying this isn’t the first Jiffy Kate book I’ve read, and I know that it won’t be the last. 😊
Such an original, raw and heartfelt story, I read the entire thing in one sitting! As always Jiffy Kate brought us a story that we just can’t put down. 😉 The characters are very well developed, the storyline is emotional yet easy to follow and the way Jiffy Kate writes/depicts each scene is superb. Her/Their writing style truly makes it incredibly easy to become engrossed in the story.
😊 I don’t want to give any story spoilers away, but I’ll confidently tell you these characters and their story are phenomenal! Ross and Casey had to overcome many hurdles to get to where they do. However, it seemed to me that those obstacles just proved to bond them even more, bringing them together and making the two of them stronger in the end. Truly a lovely weekend read. 😊❤️
This was a great book and I would highly recommend reading/checking out this story. While you’re at it, go check out Jiffy Kate’s other stories because this isn’t the only masterpiece she/they have written! 😉😊❤️ This story gets 5 stars from me! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I received this ebook ARC from the author on the condition that I write an honest review.
Jiffy Kate has done it again, they have written a book that held my attention from the very beginning until the very end. A book that was well worth my lack of sleep to finish reading.
Ross and Casey have known each other for some time. He is a teammate of Bo, and Casey is the sister of Charlotte, Bo’s girlfriend. Casey has had a crush on Ross for several years but never acted on it, because he was married at the time.
Suddenly Ross is divorced and in need of help to organize his life. Casey agrees to help him, but their close proximity leads to more than just boss and employee. One night is all it takes to affect both of their lives. Complications from their one night together, and the appearance of Ross’s ex-wife affect the relationship until the strength of their love aides in them obtaining their HEA.
I’ve read several books written by Jiffy Kate, and absolutely love their writings, characters, and stories. I always recommend their books.

I LOVED this story its was sweet, sexy, fantastically written and my first by writing duo Jiffy Kate.

Ross a professional baseball player is trying to get his life back together after a divorce and he needs all the help he can get so he hires his teammates sister in law as his new PA.
Casey is independent and get the job done, one slight issue is, she has a crush on her new employer. Soon the sparks fly between them but when Casey get some surprising news where will it leave them.

Such a sweet story that I just didn't want to end. I will definitely be reading more from this duo in the future.

"This is my first book by this duo and I loved every single word.
The storyline to Ross and Casey’s story had me enthralled right from the start. They weren’t strangers to each other and Casey had a mini crush on him for a while but as Ross was only recently divorced it wasn’t something that she could ever act on. Everything in this book just flowed seamlessly. To them becoming more involved in each other’s lives, to their pleasant surprise and even the conflict side was everything I love to read in my romance novels.
I know I will definitely be keeping my eye out for future books from this pair. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book."

This is another awesome book by my favorite writing duo, Jiffy Kate. Ross is a hot mess and Casey steps in to help him get his life back together but I wasn’t expecting the nice little surprise they share. Their feelings for each other are evident pretty early on in the book and it makes for a sweet story where you’re rooting for them as a couple, even before things get a little complicated. You can just feel how right they are together and I was anxious to see if they would get their happily ever after. I was not disappointed. As always, Jiffy Kate books are well written, classy and sexy. I enjoyed this one immensely.

Jiffy Kate’s books always leave me with a smile on my face.

These ladies know their baseball! And I love it. I also need to add New Orleans to the top of my travel bucket list.

This book has a lot of heart, Ross and Casey’s relationship is definitely a little unconventional, but it’s well written that you can feel their firm belief in fate and some things are just meant to be.

I’m hoping for a 3rd book in this series, hopefully one about the new trade pitcher??

Loved this. What a sweet, steamy romance. Angst was at a minimum and there was never a time when you doubted their commitment to each other, even if they were both unsure of themselves at times.

You cannot help but root for this couple. Casey is the personal assistant to her rock star sister and Ross a major-league pitcher who is unexpectedly dumped by his wife. Both seem a little aimless when they get together and the support they provide each other is important for their individual growth and their evolution as a couple.

I love both the backdrop of baseball and New Orleans, because I know very little about both, but feel like I’m learning more. Can’t wait to try a beignet and Sno Ball!

Side note: Pretty sure they named Ross’s ex-wife Felicia so we could all say, “Bye Felicia!”

And I love how they worked Come Again and Neutral Grounds into the story. Love a cameo with our faves from other books!

A handsome pitcher and a gal that has the magic touch when it comes to organization.
The lovely Casey has had a crush on the swoon worthy pitcher for years but he was taken and a bit older than her. Now he is back on the market but in need of a assistant to get his personal and professional life back on track and Casey is just the woman for the job.
Ross thought he married his soul mate until she out of the blue left him and moved on. He is now single and trying to put his house in order. His friend has a fabulous assistant that she is willing to share and it just happens to be her younger sister. He and Casey have run in the same circles for years but and yes he has noticed how lovely and shy she was but now she is in his home and he finds her more intriguing each day. This a cute, sweet, sexy romance with a bit baseball and angst thrown in ! Get ready to fall in love with Ross, Casey and their fabulous group of friends .

I was given a complimentary copy of the book.

I am so in love with this book., 1000%.
Jiffy Kate always deliver solid tales of romance with such fun and likeable characters.
Super sweet and swoony this love story will not disappoint. Lots of heart and southern charm as a good Jiffy Kate read should have.
Casey and Ross were introduced as supporting characters in The Rookie and the Rockstar.

This book however is a total standalone.
Casey has a secret she is secretly crushing on Ace major league pitcher Ross Davies her soon to be employer.
Ross 's marriage and life has recently imploded and he is left reeling.

Can Casey help him heal from his broken heart? Or will getting closer to Ross cause her a bundle of trouble. I just Love Casey's spunk and always positive attitude. Their love story comes on quick but it's not all at bats and homerun's :)
Check it out if you love a good sports romance, you will fall for Ross and Casey.

Loved this story!

”There’s something in the air between us. It might just be me and my tiny, baby crush, but I feel it.”

Casey Carradine is dismayed when her sister volunteers her to be Ross Davies’ short-term PA. He’s in a mess following his divorce - his life and his house are in dire need of organisation. Casey is super-efficient and just the person to bring order to his life. However, she’s been crushing hard on him for a while now and she’s not sure if she can keep her feelings under wraps if it means working so closely with him.

”She might be younger than me, but I’m not blind or an idiot. I can see her for what she is – gorgeous, confident, smart…Did I mention sexy as hell?”

Ross Davies realises that he needs help. He’s no longer in love with his wife, but he misses the life he had with her. He’s always believed in love, marriage and family, and now he feels somewhat adrift. He’s not 100% sure that Casey being his PA is a great idea – he couldn’t really say why – but then there’s no one else he can really trust to be in his home. One week of working intensely together plus one drunken night of passion then he’s away for six weeks. While Ross wants to push for more, Casey comes a life-altering realisation.

”God, what is wrong with me? I haven’t felt this possessive over a human being in…well, forever. I want to pound my chest and yell it from the rooftops – she’s mine.”

This was such a fab story! I loved how things between Ross and Casey developed. He was so sweet and sexy – I loved how much he wanted to get to know Casey and spend time with her. He had a hella dirty mouth, too! Casey thought she had a lot to contend with but Ross’ support was everything to her. I just loved how he was all-in with her. Such a heartwarming, seriously sexy story!

I am so in love with this story! Casey and Ross were just the perfect combination that I needed in my life. They were smart and funny together, and separately too, and had such great chemistry. Surprise pregnancy is one of my favorite tropes, and it was so perfect how it all fell into place in this book. I even loved the little bit of drama!! Loved it all ❤️ Even though this is book two, it can be read as a stand-alone. However, if you do plan on reading book one, I’d say you should jump on it before you get to this one because, for one, book one is great as well, and, for two, there’s a little spoiler from it spilling out in this book, so you’ll enjoy book one more if you don’t know about it before hand. That’s my two cents on it 😬

This is the 2nd book in this amazing series and is Ross and Casey’s journey. Ross is the ace pitcher who is newly divorced, and in need of help to get his life back together before his career goes up in smoke. Casey is a teammates little sister, and she has had a crush of Ross for a while, and Ross reluctantly hires her to get his life back on track. The attraction between these two is undeniable. This is a beautifully written tale which is raw, gritty, and filled with emotions, drama, and is a sweet and heartfelt story. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend for all.

He's had his heart broken and she's never been the one to dream about fairy tales, even if she has had a baby crush on him for a few years. Casey takes a job as a personal assistant to a friend and ends up with so much more than she expected.
The latest installment in the New Orleans Revelers series brings us friends, new and old, along with the spot on New Orleans lifestyle.
I'll admit, I kinda had a feeling I knew how this one would go and I wasn't too far off, but that didn't ruin the book for me- it was still a good read that kept my interest and left me feeling warm & fuzzy.

I loved Ross Davies from his first mention in The Rookie and The Rockstar, Jiffy Kate’s first book in the New Orleans Revelers series. When I heard he was getting his story told in book 2, I couldnt wait to read it. And I’m happy to say, THIS DOES NOT DISAPPOINT!!! Jiffy Kate brought out all the feels for this book. A bit of age gap, a slight slow burn, and a whole lotta surprise baby make for an absolutely smoking hot dish of a book. I could not have imagined a better HEA for Ross than this. Thank you Jiffy Kate for this incredibly delightful read!

Oh, Ross and Casey. This was an anticipated read for me, and I ended up devouring it pretty quickly. Ross is our hero - strong, sexy, and sporty. He has abs for days, a crazy ex-wife and a young gal in his life that's been crushing on him for a long time. When Casey enters the picture, the sexual tension hits the roof and there is no stopping these two and the drama that ensues. Another entertaining read by this amazing author duo.

The Ace and the Assistant: New Orleans Revelers book 2
(*spoiler alert)

I was able to review this book early with an ARC copy - thank you Jiffy Kate for the opportunity, it is an incredible book!!

This book follows out of book 1 (The Rookie and the Rockstar), which is about the 2 MC’s sister (Casey’s sister Charlotte/Lola the rockstar) and best friend (rookie ball player Bo’s best friend Ross). Book 1 was released a year prior.

I hadn’t read book 1 and had no issues with reading this as a stand-alone, but I definitely plan to grab a copy of book 1 now!! Spectacular writing from the great team of Jiffy Kate as you can always expect! Looking forward to many, many more!!

Ross is still reeling and recovering from an unexpected divorce (bye, Felicia!!), and his best friend and new wife Bo and Charlotte believe he needs an assistant to come in and help get his life back in order before he takes off for six weeks of spring training in only a week. They manage to convince Charlotte’s sister and assistant, Casey, to begrudgingly take on the task.

Casey has always had a wee crush on Ross, but kept it deep-down because he was married. The week before he leaves for training camp and working closely to get his life organized so she can run it while he’s gone proves that she isn’t going to be able to keep it hidden for much longer.

A teasingly playful water fight game in the kitchen one evening while doing the dishes rapidly turns steamy, as they both give in to the attraction that has been building up for each other for years, and coming to an explosive point that night. They don’t even make it to the bedroom before the major steam that Jiffy Kate does so well comes in (and we’re barely into the book at this point)!! I’ve never read a (an oral) sex scene on the stairs before, but I like it! Great use of locations!

They do continue in the bedroom, and Casey helps remind Ross that he’s still a man, and he can move on beyond the divorce, got his life back in order in only a week, and now he can go to spring training back on track ... but with a delectable woman on his mind.

They flirt by phone and email while he’s away at spring training, and then Casey discovers an oopsie daisy when she schedules a visit to her doctor because she’s not feeling well. You can guess the results!

Casey dances around seeing Ross or telling him about the baby after his return, until after the ultrasound. He finally gets her alone when he returns from an away game road trip and finds her sleeping in his bed. He knows something is up and she finally spills the news. He is ecstatic! He always wanted to be a dad. He’s now here an ready to take care of her pregnancy woes while she takes care of running his life. It’s win-win!

Re-enter the ex-wife Felicia, trying to get back in touch with Ross, continually showing up at his house when the team is out of town, and phoning him. One run-in bringing her face-to-face with Casey shows off the pregnancy, and somehow the next day the media is running with the story that Casey is the reason that Ross got divorced!

Felicia tries her best to create issues and break up the happy couple and get Ross back for herself. Because they are in love and having a baby, they are able to get through her bull crap and eventually reconcile.

The book ends with a great season, a baby and yep - you guessed it! - the anticipated proposal. Aww!

What I love so much about Jiffy Kate’s novels are that they are extremely well written (you can’t tell who writes which chapters, they glow so well with one voice!), amazing and real characters, and such sweet stories. The required conflict is always included because you can’t have a story without it, but it’s not devastating or heartbreaking and it’s not extremely dark like a lot of books I’ve read recently, and there are no triggers like character deaths or dealing with devastating illnesses or recent death of a spouse or parent, etc.

When I want a really good, light and happy (and HOT, steamy) romance, Jiffy Kate is where I go, and The Ace and the Assistant was a perfect example of why I love them! I’m now going to get myself the first book in the series, and hope I don’t have to wait a year for book 3!

The Ace and The Assistant is one of the most compelling and heartfelt books I have read in 2020. It has the signature Jiffy Kate vibe: funny scenes, a swoony hero who everyone would like as a boyfriend, an adorable heroine who is both strong and vulnerable, all wrapped in the magic that only a city like New Orleans can provide.

These authors have the capacity to write about hard topics and feelings in meaningful ways and yet create a story that carries you along and makes you smile. Because despite the hurdles the main characters go through, this book made me feel good. And this is my favorite type of romance!

Ross Davies, the ace pitcher for the New Orleans Revelers, has had a rough patch since his wife left and divorced him. He feels lost, and his life is a mess. So when his teammate Bo and his girlfriend, rockstar Lola Carradine, suggest him to hire Casey Carradine as a personal assistant, he decides to take a chance. After all, he has a week to be on track before leaving spring training. She is not only Lola's little sister but almost family, so what could go wrong?

Well... let me just say: age gap (he is 31, she is 23) and surprise pregnancy! It all just works. They are so good together and their story is amazing. They will have to work hard to leave their fears aside. The best part was experiencing how they rediscover themselves and their feelings, tearing walls down.

And in true Jiffy Kate fashion, the icing on the cake is the appearance of well-beloved characters. I think it is one of my favorite parts when reading their books. So, if you have never read their books, just do yourself a favor and pick one. You can thank me later!
