Aria
I always wanted to be independent. But having a Navy SEAL for a brother and grandparents that hovered, it was nearly impossible. Then my grandparents died and my brother got deployed, leaving me alone for the first time in my life.
That's when I met Carter, and everything changed.
Carter
I was only supposed to watch her. I was never supposed to talk to her, get to know her and crave her the way I did. I knew getting involved would causes problems, I knew falling for her was a mistake but I did it anyway. Damn the consequences.
But what happens when reality comes crashing toward my fantasy? Will Aria understand or will I lose her forever?
S.A. Clayton lives in a small town outside of Toronto, Canada with her husband and her scary large collection of books that seem to take over every room. She has worked on both sides of the publishing industry, both in a bookstore and for actual publishing companies. Although she loved both for different reasons, she found that writing was her true passion and has spent the last few years breaking into the industry as best she can. She is a lover of all things romance and began her writing journey in her late twenties. Since then, she has immersed herself in the romance genre and couldn't be happier. When she's not writing or reading, she enjoys binging a great Netflix show (Stranger Things anyone?), baking (because who doesn't love cookies!), and spending time with her family.
After the tragic death of her parents Aria lived with her grandparents when Ben, her brother and a Navy SEAL was deployed. Now that her grandparents have passed away she finds herself alone until Carter, a regular at the diner where she works, becomes an important part of her life.
After an injury ended Carter’s career as a Navy SEAL he finds himself at a crossroads. His agreement to help out a friend has brought Aria into her life but will the truth of why they met be an obstacle they can’t overcome?
Although the circumstances that brought Aria and Carter together weren’t ideal there was no denying the love and chemistry between them.
When Aria lost both her grandparents, she is left alone as her brother had been deployed right after. Unknown to her, her brother asked one of his friends to look after her. After seeing Carter every night for weeks at the diner she worked at, they started talking. It blossoms into something more. But Aria didn't know her brother send Carter to look after her.
Aria and Carter met under false pretenses but once they got to know one another a love grew from those times together. This was a short and sweet love story that held me captive from page 1.
IN PLAIN SIGHT, a novella set in Kristen Proby's Seattle World, is part of the Navy SEAL Series. It was a quick easy read about two people meeting under unusual circumstance. Aria has lost everyone in the world she loves, except for her brother Ben who is a soldier and away most of the time. He enlists the aid of a friend, Carter, to watch over her. Suffice to say a lot more happens than just watching.
S.A. Clayton has written a really sweet story of two broken people meeting at the right time in their lives. Not everything runs smoothly, but when it comes to friendship when does it? I enjoyed this story and really loved how this couple got to know one another. It's a sweet, sexy and, at times, emotional read that captured my heart.
Aria's grandparents pass away and she's left all alone tackling life. Her brother, Ben, is a Navy SEAL and he's out on tour. Little does Aria know that Ben has asked his good friend and SEAL brother, Carter, to keep an eye on Aria. Carter doesn't just do that. He's entranced with her and comes into the diner where she works every day. Pretty soon they strike up a friendship that could lead to more. The sparks between these two become undeniable at one point. But how will Aria feel when she finds out Ben set this up?
This was a sweet, quick novella. I wouldn't exactly call it instant love, but it reads like that towards the end. I absolutely love this cover, too! The colors and imagery are just right. In Plain Sight was low-angst and high on steamy romance. A great week night read! 4 stars

Aria's brother, Ben, sent Carter to look after her. Carter wasn't supposed to interact with her. Just keep her safe. Well, he did keep her safe by beating a customer who tried to attack her. He spends weeks sitting in her section, watching over her and getting to know her. One night, he finally gives into his attraction when she lets him in. Only to find out the next morning that he's there because of her brother. Will she let him explain? Can he earn back her trust?
Reading this, you just knew she was going to find out in a bad way. You could feel the inevitable. The glimpse of Ben at the end was nice.
I was surprised by this one. I don't usually expect much investment in novellas but this was a nice surprise. After Aria's parents passed, her and her brother go off to live with her grandparents. When her grandparents pass, she's alone for the first time. Her protective brother, a Navy SEAL, sends Carter to watch over her. Unbeknownst to all of them, Aria and Carter quickly develop a rapport and soon fall for each other. Their romance lights up and totally blows up when she finds out the truth about who he is. This story was easy to get through, a short and enjoyable read. I would entertain reading others in the series!
Aria thinks she meets Carter by chance. Little does she know that he has been tasked by her brother to watch over her. Carter, for his part, tries to stick to the rules. Aria, however, is a huge draw for him and he finds himself falling. Aria, for her part, likes Carter. This is a novella so it is pretty short and I don't want to give away what happens between these 2. I will say that I did like their book and found it to be entertaining. It fit in well with the other books in the series that I have read.
S.A. Clayton is known to deliver a swoony, sweet, and fast romance and this book fit that bill to a T. To the point and a whole lot of unputdownable, Clayton gives us quite the read in, In Plain Sight, her brand new standalone release and gahhhh y'all this was a really good one. Aria and Carter were everything in a whole lot of ways and left me wanting at much more of them.
I've yet to read a S.A. Clayton book i haven't loved and devoured. Excited to see what she'll give us next.
This was a short and sweet romance. Considering it was a novella the romance was a slow burn but once the spark ignited it was off the charts hot.
Carter has been sent to watch over Aria by her brother but she has no knowledge of this. When she finds out the truth Carter has to show her his feelings are real.
This is one you can devour in one sitting.

Throughly enjoyable read this book, it’s the first book by S A Clayton I’ve read and I absolutely loved it. It’s an easy light read. We read about Carter and Aria a love story with passion, secrets, romance and love. A story about how love can be found when you don’t expect it. Thai is another book that is in the Navy Seal Novella Collection that’s so enjoyable.
Absolutely loved the newest book in the Loving My Soldier series. S.A. Clayton is one of my favorite authors she always gives us the most original stories and amazing characters. Carter and Aria have such a beautiful story full of healing and finding hope. Always a five star read from this incredible author.
This was short but sweet and with some emotional scenes. Aria and Carter develop a sweet relationship that comes crashing down after she discovers the truth. I could feel their emotions coming off the pages and understood both their sides. I was intrigued by Ben and wonder if he will get a story.
This was a short enjoyable read that took me way longer than expected because Aria was so annoying. Thank God Carter was a patient man because Aria was juvenile at best and off character at her worst.
