Mohammed Saleem’s daughter, Maz Saleem, is launching a campaign to highlight “Islamophobic hate crimes and put pressure on the government.” Her father was the victim of a horrific crime, and Pavlo Lapshyn, like any murderer, should be fully punished by British authorities, as should anyone who breaks the law. Hate crimes should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law, but they should not be allowed to be manipulated by those who use crime and tragedy to further political agendas.
“Islamophobia” goes beyond “bigotry” against Muslims. It is a term propagated energetically by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and by all Islamic supremacists, to beat down critics of Islam. The term has no place whatsoever in Western societies. The crime against Mohammed Saleem is not a reason to perpetrate the “islamophobia” subterfuge upon British society. An All-Party group already came up with a definition of “islamophobia” which was rejected. It was as follows:
Islamophobia is rooted in racism and is a type of racism that targets expressions of Muslimness or perceived Muslimness.
Fortunately, this vague definition was deemed unacceptable by the government and police due to its broadness, ability to erode the freedom of speech, and potential to cause confusion for law enforcement.
“Muslimness” can be associated with the Sharia, regarded as divine law in Islam, but to reject the abusive, human rights-violating aspects of the Sharia is only prudent; to do so would be deemed “Islamophobic” under the proposed definition. In a similar manner in Canada, a definition of “Islamophobia” was established in an Islamic Heritage Month guidebook for the Toronto District School Board which was apparently influenced by the National Council of Canadian Muslims:
The guidebook defines Islamophobia, in part, as “fear, prejudice, hatred or dislike directed against Islam or Muslims, or towards Islamic politics or culture.”
This definition was subsequently rejected and revised due to its broadness and concerns that “the reference to ‘politics’ could lead to students or staff being punished for expressing dislike for the Republic of Iran’s persecution of LGBTQ people or restrictions placed on women in Saudi Arabia.”
Meanwhile, Maz Saleem is understandably grieved, but the Guardian quoted her as stating that her father’s murder was “one of the biggest acts of terrorism on UK soil,” which isn’t the case.
Here are just a few recent acts of Islamic terrorism in the UK; they do not justify victimizing innocent Muslims, but they demonstrate the falsity of her statement.
- The Manchester arena jihad bombing, which could have been prevented were it not for fears of “Islamophobia” charges. See HERE
- The London Bridge attack, after which London mayor Sadiq Khan told reporters that diversity is one of the British capital’s strengths. See HERE
- The Westminster car attack; the jihadi told his family, “You will soon hear of my death, but don’t worry…I will be in paradise.” See HERE
- The London subway jihad bombing; police conducted a raid on the home of an elderly couple that took in Muslim refugee children. See HERE
Pavlo Lapshyn, after murdering Maz Saleem, later “planted three bombs outside mosques in Walsall, Wolverhampton and Tipton.” Lapshyn was driven by hatred, and he should be dealt with accordingly. However, the UK (and any Western nation) should not encourage or embrace definitions of “Islamophobia” due to the likes of Lapshyn. The term “anti-Muslim bigotry” is straightforward enough. “Islamophobia” serves as a term frequently manipulated as a political ploy by Islamic supremacists to undermine the freedom of expression and thus free society in general.
“Daughter of murdered Muslim man calls for official Islamophobia definition,” by Diane Taylor, Guardian, April 5, 2021:
The daughter of a Muslim man who was murdered by a white supremacist as he walked home from evening prayers at a Birmingham mosque is launching a campaign calling for the government to adopt an official definition of Islamophobia.
Mohammed Saleem, 82, was murdered in April 2013 by Pavlo Lapshyn, who later planted three bombs outside mosques in Walsall, Wolverhampton and Tipton.
Saleem’s daughter Maz Saleem is launching a campaign called #IAmMohammedSaleem to highlight Islamophobic hate crimes and put pressure on the government.
She is urging people to post short videos and testimonies on social media throughout the month of April speaking out against Islamophobia.
Lapshyn was convicted at the Old Bailey in October 2013 of Saleem’s murder, of causing an explosion with intent to endanger life and of engaging in conduct in preparation of terrorist acts, and was sentenced to a minimum term of 40 years.
Lapshyn killed Saleem just five days after arriving in the UK from Ukraine as a qualified engineer on a 12-month work placement at a company in the Small Heath area of Birmingham.
In his sentencing remarks at the Old Bailey, Mr Justice Sweeney told Lapshyn: “You clearly held extreme rightwing, white supremacist views.” He added about Saleem’s murder: “The offence was committed in the course of a series of acts of terrorism.” Maz Saleem has said she wants her father’s murder itself to be recognised as an act of terror.
The all-party parliamentary group on British Muslims produced a report in 2018 proposing a working definition of Islamophobia/anti-Muslim hatred in 2018 and recommended that this definition be adopted. “Islamophobia is rooted in racism and is a type of racism that targets expressions of Muslimness and perceived Muslimness,” it said.
Maz Saleem said of her father’s murder: “This was one of the biggest acts of terrorism on UK soil. Yet to this day most people have no idea about this case. Whenever terror-related headlines reach our screens they are often about those who identify with the Muslim faith; rarely do we hear of the merciless violence of white supremacists who took my father’s life.”…
Buraq says
“Islamophobia is rooted in racism and is a type of racism ………”
A type of racism?? How many different ‘types’ of racism are there? Name them. This is slippery stuff. The word ‘type’ is added to sugar the pill and make it easier for the gullible to swallow. Then, once established as a general concept, the word ‘type’ will be dropped and then so-called Islamophobia will be deemed racism.
Stealth jihad in all its garish color!

Yes, right. The Islamophobia slander is part of VERBAL JIHAD … the whitewashing and disinformation about jihad TERRORISM.
The ‘Islamophobia’ fallacy is nothing less than GASLIGHTING … the practice of brainwashing or convincing mentally healthy people that they are going insane or that their understanding of reality is mistaken or false.
GASLIGHTING is a disinformation technique used by Islamists and their allies to short-circuit intelligent discussion of the very real jihad terror threat which stems from Islam’s authentic PRIMARY SOURCE TEXTS.
Jihad is the SIXTH and MOST IMPORTANT PILLAR Islam and we need to learn all we can about it so we can stop it from happening.

What the moslems are trying to do is bring back blasphemy laws as a cover for Sharia laws.
Tony Naim says
Islamophobia is rooted in Islamic supremacy and the legal principles of Dhimmitude enshrined in Sharia law which elevates Islam as a master religion above all others, by the use of violence.
mortimer says
No, Tony, this concept of ‘Islamophobia’ is NOT found anywhere in Islamic law and not before the 1990s when the term Islamophobia was created by the Muslim Brotherhood (a terrorist organization) to silence criticism of its nefarious and violent activities. .
The frankenword ‘Islamophobia’ is a thought-quenching cliché designed by ideologues to prevent discussion of jihad in order to allow jihad against the West to advance unnoticed and unopposed.
gravenimage says
Tony is not wrong. Yes, the term “Islamophobia” is new, but the state where Infidels are not allowed to say anything critical of Islam is indeed based in Shari’ah law and its treatment of Infidels.
mortimer says
Agree with this aspect: The ‘Islamophobia’ frankenword was created as a clever SECULAR means for imposing Sharia blasphemy law against the dirty kufaar by stopping all criticism of Islam before it is uttered, no matter how fair and well-grounded such criticism may be.
The Muslim Brotherhood invented this word as a means by which SECULAR GLOBALIST-LEFTARDS could DO THE DIRTY WORK OF CENSORSHIP for them!
mortimer says
Note that Sharia law does NOT refer to ‘criticism of Islam’.
Sharia says it forbids kafirs to ‘MENTION SOMETHING IMPERMISSIBLE’ about Islam, Mohammed, etc.
‘Impermissible’ is ANYTHING that Muslims don’t want to be shared … for instance, the details of a jihad attack.
An example of ‘Islamophobia’ – To SHARE the real motives of a jihadist as written by him on his Facebook page (…’I’m conducting jihad so I can get 72 virgins in paradise’ – signed, Abdul) would be ‘ISLAMOPHOBIC’.
gravenimage says
Mortimer, the “Prophet” Muhammed himself had his critrics assassinated. Your idea that Shari’ah allows for the ciriticism of Islam is mistaken. It is not just thwarting Jihad terror attacks that is forbidden.
Wellington says
The matter of the ridiculousness of the term “Islamophobia” aside (big aside I realize), on the issue of hate crimes it is my conviction that the entire idea behind hate crime legislation of any kind is seriously flawed in the first place because it punishes motive to at least some extent and motive should never be punished at all since this involves social engineering which itself is virtually always detrimental and creates a myriad of inequalities and other errors. Rather, it is the act that should be punished. Motive is important for investigative reasons but it should never be used for punitive reasons.
If one is harmed or killed for their money and someone else is harmed or killed because of their religion, race or gender and the perpetrator in the second instance is punished more so than the perpetrator in the first instance because the criminal action is deemed a hate crime, how does this protect the equal rights of the victim who was harmed or killed for their money?
Don’t punish motive. Punish the act.
Hoi Polloi says
While I respect CDW’s doubtless honorable sentiments, “Hate crimes should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law,” is problematic for me, as well. I agree that this has been a new legal strategy that is certain to lead to serious problems. There are laws sufficient to deal with the full array of criminality without hate crimes charges.
As to, “rarely do we hear of the merciless violence of white supremacists,”……that’s all we hear lately, even when it’s a false representation, as has become commonplace. What we don’t hear, and won’t hear from her, is a discussion as to Islam as a supremacist ideology. Which it is.
James Lincoln says

I believe that this is a correct analysis.
The person harmed / killed for their money can suffer the same degree of morbidity / mortality as the person harmed / killed due to religion / race / gender, etc.
So..
The *motive* does not matter – it only helps in identifying the perp…

when a Muslim kills on London Bridge its just common or garden murder but the other way round its a henous crime. don’t think so. they are both idiological murder. The muslim community seem intent on making Great Britain a muslim caliphate this must not happen. If they stop Jihad the reaction would not happen. Or are all the white murder victims supremacists lets see the proof if she has any.
somehistory says
“rarely do we hear of the merciless violence of white supremacists who took my father’s life.”…
Well, ms mozlum, only **one** person killed your father. Only one, even if he identified as a “white supremacist.”
Furthermore. it’s “rare” to “hear” simply because it’s “rare” that it happens. More people are killed every year, yes, even every day, by mozlums than are killed in a similar manner….like bombings, random murders, etc., by White Supremacists. It can’t be reported if it doesn’t happen…unless one is making up stuff and reporting ‘fake news.’ Much like the many “hoaxes” mozlums have committed and claimed “hatred and anti-mozlum bigotry.”
The entire “hate crime” thing is something that should never have been thought up.
The murder of anyone is a crime. Whether or not the killer “hated” the victim doesn’t make any difference in whether the victim is dead. Many times even, the murderer will confess to “loving” the victim, but the victim is still just as dead as the ones who are murdered out of malice, hatred, envy, desire, a perceived need, etc.
Some murders are called “senseless” crimes. Perhaps they involve the theft of a pair of sneakers, a back pack, or other material thing. Some pizza guys are killed for “less than 20 dollars,” and yet, the victim is just as dead as those who may have been killed due to skin tone, position in the community…such as police officers…or religious belief.
Her father’s killer didn’t escape harsh punishment. Unlike some of the mozlum brothers of hers and her father who get a little slap on the wrist and released back into the community after the murders they commit….which murders were all on the basis of “hatred.”
Jayell says
Islamophobia is “fear, prejudice, hatred or dislike directed against Islam or Muslims, or towards Islamic politics or culture”, is it? No, it has to be the “IRRATIONAL fear, prejudice, hatred or dislike against Islam or Muslims”, etc. That’s what a ‘phobia’ is. To show that anyone was ‘islamophobic’, you’d have to prove that any ‘fear, prejudice, hatred or dislike’ was irrational and that at no time did the ‘islamophobe’ exercise any of their intellectual faculties to come to an informed and considered adverse opinion of islam or muslims. So, if there were any aspect of islamic dogma or the characteristic behaviour of musiims that could reasonably considered reprehensible or unacceptable to anyone after due observation or consideration,, then the ‘fear, hatred or dislike’ has a basis in reason and cannot be a ‘phobia’. It most certainly cannot be a ‘prejudice’ because that would be a ‘pre-judgement’ without any knowledge or evidence
I believe the muslims plagiarised the term ‘islamophobia’ from the Gay community after they witnessed the success of the ‘homophobia’ campaign and thought they could jump on their bandwagon without any justification whatsoever. And , as usual, it looks like they might get away with it.

Having reviewed the dictionary definition of “phobia” (looking at the most authoritative ones I could find) I am forced to agree that “islamophobia” is a very inappropriate term.
Whether defined as “extreme fear or dislike”, “extreme or irrational” , “intolerance or aversion for” or whatever, almost all the definitions chalk “phobias” up to being anxiety disorders.
If it were possible to legislate a “fear” (rational or irrational) or “anxiety disorder” out of existence I have one or two of my own I wish they’d attend to.
“Fear” of islam, muslims and islamists cannot be legislated away. They can’t legislate an emotion out of existence.
“They” know that of course. Unwilling to live under the anti-hate and anti-discriminatory laws that currently exist, “special status” devoid of any criticism (or even discussion) is what is being sought and not equality — obviously.

This woman seems to be committing the error of false equivalence. How many Muslims are killed by white supremacists, and how many Christians, Jews, Hindus and Buddhists are killed by jihadis? Probably the numbers are greatly unequal. And likewise how much antisemitic and antichristian propaganda is taught in schools on ther side, vs how much proßislamic propaganda is being taught in Western schools? Probably quite a different ratio would be found there too.
Infidel says
Without condoning or endorsing what Pablo Lapshyn did, it’s perfectly safe to say that what he did was one of the consequences of the UK authorities looking the other way on all crime done in the name of islam! If they really want ‘islamophobia’ to disappear, they need to take seriously all crimes done by muslims, be it the ‘grooming gangs’, knife attacks, pandering to islam while denigrating real faiths like Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism and Buddhism, and so on

Islamists come in all races, kind of like Catholics, so trying to make it a racial crime is nonsensical. It’s the horrid ideology that people hate. It’s the most totalitarian ideology on the planet and they control the adherents with religion and law 24/7/365 from cradle to grave.
Michael Copeland says
Maz Saleem is concerned about hatred. Let her direct her concern to the hatred instructed in mosques. The “excellent pattern” praised in Koran 60:4 is “between us and you enmity and hatred forever”. Anjem Choudary made clear that “As a muslim I must have hatred for anything non-Islam”.
No hatred is preached in any Church.

The day justice is administered to victims of Jihad and nations start discussing Islam there will be renaissance and the world will see Islam die a natural death.

I agree with the article, it is very difficult to separate “self defence” from “Islamophobia” because of the aggression inbuilt in to the Islamic cult, this aggression goes against anybody who is not prepared to accept that terrible cult.
I am afraid that most of the non Islamic planet is Islamophobic or better said it is not prepared to be bullied by Islam.
