Turing College is hiring!

Spotify is testing the online video-based courses market. 😲 This is exciting, as Spotify is my primary audio-learning medium. I think for many others as well. It means more content, although I wonder if the video will be anywhere close to rival audio. The future will show!

Laimė = realybė - lūkesčiai Kai lūkesčiai per aukšti (neatitinka realybės), tai laimę sudėtinga pasiekti, nors reali situacija gali būti ir visai nebloga. Taip įvyko ir su programuotoju paruošimu ir pažadu, kad po 1-3 mėnesių mokslų uždirbsi labai didelius pinigus. Skamba labai gerai, bet kai po mokslų nueini į darbo pokalbį - supranti, kad realybė su lūkesčiais labai prasilenkė. Tai ką daryti, jei nori išmokti programuoti "iš tikrųjų"? Kelios mintys iš interviu: - Rinktis ne trumpiausius mokslus. Kad ir kaip norėtum išmokti viską greitai, smegenys turi limitus informacijos įsisavinime. A.Lincoln mintis puikiai tai apibūdina “I am slow to learn and slow to forget". - Rinktis kur mokymasis yra pusiau arba lankstaus tvarkaraščio (a.k.a. self-paced). Nors ir mokslai trunka ilgiau, jei turi noro ir motyvacijos galėsi juos baigti greičiau.

This guy is the youngest learner at Turing College. Meet Ernestas. In his 4th grade, I taught him programming after school. He was such a fast learner that Codecombat and other programming challenges for kids his age were too easy, so I started teaching him high school-level programming concepts. Fast-forward five years. Ernestas is in 9th grade now and just got admitted with a full scholarship to the Full-stack Web Development program at Turing College, a bachelor/master's degree-level program. We don't care that Ernestas is still in high school. He passed our admissions process and has everything needed to succeed at Turing College. That's the beauty of reinventing education - you can provide opportunities to those that are really worth it. P.S. The picture is 5 years old, Ernestas & I look a bit older now 😂

When an opinion is more important than facts...😂 This is why Turing College's programs place a significant emphasis on soft skills, such as presentation skills convincing stakeholders to form opinions based on data insights first. At the end of the day, we're all humans, and we tend to see the world from subjective perspectives.

If it's true, we're facing a strategic inflection point in the history of human productivity. The quote of Intel's CEO Andrew Grove summarizes this the best: "Something has changed, something big, something significant, even if it's not entirely clear what that something is."
