But how much UN aid (paid for mostly by Western taxpayers, especially those of the US) is going to repair the infrastructure damage in Israel, or address the plight of injured Israelis?
Hamas launched its massive and deadly offensive against Israel’s civilian population with funding from Iran. Now the UN cleans up in Gaza, thereby indirectly funding Hamas. It’s a cozy arrangement for Hamas as it faces no consequences, and is emboldened for the next time around.
The massive amounts of cash that are now or soon will be flowing into Iran, now that sanctions are being removed and frozen assets returned, makes it highly likely that the conflict will resume soon, while the UN will continues to attack Israel as an illegal, occupying state.
The good news is that Israel’s air defense system, the Iron Dome, intercepted 90% of the thousands of rockets that Hamas launched.
“U.N. to launch Gaza aid appeal as Israel-Hamas ceasefire holds for 3rd day,” Reuters, May 23, 2021:
A ceasefire between Israel and Hamas held into a third day on Sunday as mediators spoke to all sides about extending the period of calm after the worst outbreak of fighting in years.
Egyptian mediators have been shuttling between Israel and the Gaza Strip, which is ruled by Hamas, to try to sustain the ceasefire and have also met the Islamist group’s rival, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, in the occupied West Bank.
Egypt’s foreign minister was also set to meet with top Jordanian officials on Sunday to discuss de-escalation and ways to revive the Middle East peace process.
Lynn Hastings, the United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator for the Palestinian territories, said on Sunday the U.N. would launch an appeal to repair the damage in densely populated Gaza, where there is a threat of COVID-19 spreading.
“The escalation has exacerbated an already dire humanitarian situation in Gaza, generated by nearly 14 years of blockade and internal political divisions, alongside recurrent hostilities,” she said in a statement issued from the Palestinian enclave.
“We must also ensure support to continue addressing needs that already existed, including those arising from the ongoing pandemic.”
Israel has blockaded Gaza since 2007, saying this prevents Hamas bringing in arms. Hastings said the United Nations had long been asking Israel to stop the blockade and would continue doing so.
U.S. President Joe Biden has said Washington will work with U.N. agencies on expediting humanitarian aid for Gaza “in a manner that does not permit Hamas to simply restock its military arsenal.”….

Why will a “test post” work, but not a comment?
Infidel says
What I’ve noticed is that within a threat, sometimes, the first post you post doesn’t come up, but a second or third post in the same thread makes that come alive. In case you don’t post a second or third post, the trick is to leave that thread and return after a while – maybe after visiting other posts or other sites – and then check, even refreshing that page. It should be up by then

These shootings and stabbings are moderate versions of the attacks: the rocket attacks are the extreme ones

Infidel,
I guess that’s the new “moderate” version of islam…

Dan and Infidel, a “test” post–unless it is the very first comment by a poster–seldom has anything in it that is apt to hang it up.
Posting multiple similar comments makes no difference, as I’ve learned–if a post goes to moderation (which doesn’t necessarily mean it is a bad post) then it has to wait for Robert Spencer or Marc Louis or one of the other moderators to read the post and OK it. All sorts of things can automatically send a post to moderation–including more than two links in the same comment has been a big bugaboo for me (posts with a lot of links can sometimes be spam).
The moderator might not even be in the same time zone you are in, so this can sometimes take a bit. But all reasonable comments post eventually.
(Posts that are not reasonable include things like spam, being *way* off-topic, calls for violence and threats to other posters–these last are rare, but are not the kind of things you want to go up on the threads in the first place).

Why is there never an “appeal” for aid to Israel….to repair what the rockets damaged when the iron Dome missed them?
How about some money for the victims killed in Israel by the rockets?
All that money, all that aid, all those appeals to help the terrorist org restore and repair what was damaged due to their warmongering and terrorism. One would think that everyone would get really tired of hearing it.
First, they shoot rockets…and abbas is glad because it takes the focus off an election he might lose…and they kill people and damage property, and then…”help, help,” and everyone with the power to pull the strings and cry boohoo on behalf of the terrorists goes to work to spend money collected from the lowly taxpayer who has no say in where his hard-earned cash is sent.
The world is a very corrupt place. satan is, as attorneys who went up against Perry Mason liked to claim they would be, “having a field day.”

What is basically happening here is, Hamas is going to be rewarded for attacking Israel. This is hardly a deterrent, but rather an encouragement for future attacks by Hamas.

UN launches Gaza aid appeal, with Biden’s handlers’ assistance
…………..
How much of this aid will go to Gaza attacking and murdering Jews? Biden has openky acknowledged that Hamas uses this money to fund Jihad but that he does not care.
And this is *rewarding* Hamas for attacking Israel.
And Israel is being penalized for actually having a successful society. Note no aid appeal *for them*.

Any military leader worth his salt will tell you the most merciful way to wage war, the quickest way to end it, is to POUND the enemy so hard they are no longer capable of making war.
Maybe Hamas and the Palestinians aren’t behind these world wide assaults on Jewish people, but the people COMMITTING these acts SUPPORT Hamas and the Palestinians.
Keep pounding Hamas, and the Palestinians, until THEY are punishing those nuts who keep assaulting Israelis, and Jewish people all over the world, and America and Americans while we’re at it.

Iran financed the attacks on Israel and as a result their bum boys in Hamas got the crap beaten out of them.
Let the mullahs of Iran fund the rebuild out of their own bank accounts, they probably have enough stashed away to do it a couple of times over.
