The stranger on the plane ride home is the perfect distraction from her anguished thoughts about returning to the one place that will make her face everything she’s left behind.
It was supposed to be a random bit of fun.
She wasn’t supposed to see him again.

I love an instant attraction story and that is exactly what Rhys and Hayden's story is. And, although it started as a brief encounter on a plane the fates had other ideas. Unsteady means not firm or solid: not fixed in position and that is exactly the right description for Rhys, when her grandmother died, Rhy ran from her hometown as soon as she became a nurse and never looked back. Traveling from city to city, she calls nowhere home. But when her best friend Tucker needs her, she jumps on a plane right away and returns's to the place of her heartache. What Rhys wasn't expecting was Hayden to be part of Tucker's (she is a girl) friendship group. Hayden has just got out of a long-term relationship, but from the moment he meets the intriguing woman on the plane he has been hooked. But how long will Rhys stay, is she about to take flight again when things get too real.

Unsteady had all the ingredients for a really great book, it was a blend of hot and emotional that kept me entertained throughout.

Unsteady is a standalone about love, overcoming grief, and friendship. Rhys meets a man unexpectedly on a plane— a total stranger. Her outer shell is hard to crack— but this man got under her skin. Rhys is finally returning home after experiencing the death of her two grandparents, what she doesn’t expect is to fall in love.

This book was absolutely AMAZING. Ashley Christin is a new-to-me author and I’m now a big fan. Her writing style is gorgeous and insightful, yet very easy to read. She made me feel SO many emotions, which is usually a struggle for me. Just trust me on this, this book is a must read.

Favorite quotes:
Honestly, I could’ve highlighted the whole book because the writing is THAT beautiful.

“You’re wrong. Living is the easy part. It’s the deserving that guts you. It’s what we expect God to give us, what we think we have the right to, that owns us. Learn between the want and need, and it’s there you’ll find your steady ground.”

“You can wake up every day and go through a routine you’ve set and put no more thought into your life as you would your lunch meal. Everything has a place—reality here, control there, love nonexistent. You’re just… alive. Breathing, yes, but not living. To live is to love, and to love is to live. They go hand in hand—there’s not one without the other.”

“We all make choices that define us, and I'm thankful every day I made the choice to love that man. Just as the angel of death touches us, so do the wings of sorrow and despair. But love, love keeps us grounded and guarded, even after they're gone. Whether you pick to live your life with their love as influence or a burden is on you. But never forget, their love remains locked inside of you—it's yours to keep forever.” She looks to the ceiling and sighs. “What a blessing it is.”

This dang book had me laughing, crying, and swooning. There were many times that I was wiping away my tears, and my heart was just going through all the feels. Loved the meet cute. Loved the reintroduction they experienced. Loved how Rhys was there to help Tucker. Loved how Rhys explained that she was unsteady. Loved the relationship that you could feel between Rhys and her grandparents. Loved how she instantly fit back into her hometown after being gone for so long. Loved witnessing how the relationship between Hayden and Rhys continued to build. Loved the drama moment, even though it broke my heart. I just loved every single thing about this book. I am sincerely hoping that Ashley Christin goes back to write Kade and Tucker's story, because that deserves to be told. I want more of this town, and more of these characters. Loved it all, and it was a perfect introduction to the writings of Ashley Christin.

If you're looking for a book that will hit you in the feels, then grab this book. It is such a sweet romance, and it is also the story of healing for both of our characters. For Rhys it is also the story of coming home and rebuilding those relationships that were lost due to distance

I am a big sucker for main characters meeting on planes so when I read this blurb I was excited to read Unsteady. Unsteady is about Rhys, traveling nurse who is still grieving a major loss that has scared her away from love. On her plane back to her hometown she meets Hayden or Dave and they have instant sparks of chemistry. They share secrets before realizing their words are connected through mutual best friend Tucker. Hayden was a breath of fresh air from a hero stand point as he quickly acknowledged his own feelings and didn't run from them. Instead the usual formula has been flipped and it's Rhys that can't allow herself to share that love and happiness. I found both characters to be likable along with their circle of family and friends alike. Unsteady wasn't too angsty in my opinion and really let the emotional turmoil shine. Definitely a book I've enjoyed reading and was a great mixture of steam, plot and emotional journies.

Unsteady is an instant win for me. This book sucked me in from the very beginning. The prologue is so heartbreaking and kind of sets the tone where Rhys is concerned. Enter present day- Rhys is on her way back to her hometown and her neighbor on the plane have an Uber hot attraction to each other. The encounter on the plane leaves a lasting impression on each of them.

Little does Rhys know that she’ll be face to face with him again, in her hometown. This book is so much more than meets the eye. It’s about healing your soul. Rhys is going to so much inside and feels incomplete. The relationship between Rhys and Hayden is so incredible to read. Hayden has so many walls to bring down where she is concerned.

I loved the writing, the characters everything about this book. So, so good!

Dnf @15%.
I didn't read enough of the plot or the characters to comment about that. So I won't.
What made me DNF this was the way it was written. It was like, the author was trying too hard to sound "Cool". Kinda like a teenager. I was rolling my eyes for about 12% of the book (and I read just 15%😑) . It was a total turn off in reading terms.

I love Ryse and Hayden so much! My fav part is when she sees Hayden for the first time at the bar and her reaction. Lots of humor and steamy scenes that’ll keep you laughing and engaged. If you want HEA this one is def that.

Oh my goodness this book was nothing that I expected it to be , it was sooooooo much more !

This book was like living life , it was real , it was raw , I cried , I laughed , I had moments where I got angry and frustrated and I took so much from this book especially advice from the older generation especially at the end ❣️

I can’t even pinpoint which character was a main character as they all played a monumental role , this is one of those books that just hit home and you want to dish out copies to anyone and everyone that crosses your path ❣️📖

This book broke my heart and put it back together again multiple times. I cried, I laughed, and I cried from laughing so hard. This meet cute was one of the best I’ve read in a long time and their chemistry was on fire from the beginning.

Rhys is a traveling nurse who is wounded by her past. She is coming home to be with her best friend who has just broken up with her cheating boyfriend. Hayden has just broken up with the girl he thought he was going to marry. He is really into Rhys and has amazing chemistry with her but she has so many issues he is afraid she doesn’t want to comment. I really enjoyed the roller coaster ride this book took me on. It was definitely an emotional journey. There were several different stories woven into one great book. There is definitely room for more books! I look forward to reading more books by this author.

Great read

Great read! Loved the random days. Tucker was a hoot and Rhys grew so much through the book with the push from June. Absolutely loved Hayden, book bf material all the way. Loved how this book was reminder of how short life is and that you need to live everyday and if your lucky enough to find that great love, to hold on and make the most of it

Traveling nurse, Rhys, has had some things happen in her past that has hurt her so she's not about to fall in love. She's also managed to stay away from her hometown after losing the most important people to her but she's finally going back to be with her best friend. On the plane back, she starts talking to a random man, and they shared a lot of personal information (probably because they didn't think they would see each other again), but fate has other plans in store for them. It just so happens that Hayden is part of her bestie's friend circle so imagine her shock when she sees him again. Now, Ashley Christin flipped the romance script for us by having our perfect hero the one chasing, while our heroine is totally a flight risk. It's such a refreshing change because as we all know, most of the time the hero is the one who is never going to fall in love, and since I'm a woman who doesn't want another relationship, I totally related with Rhys, but I'm not sure there's a Hayden in my future LOL. Unsteady is a breathtakingly beautiful story that I couldn't get enough of so hit those one click buttons! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

With Rhys being a traveling nurse, she was able to go anywhere. Which I personally think would be super cool. Rhys is in her way home to help her BFF, Tucker, deal with a bad breakup. While in the plane, she meets a guy, “Dave,” going through a bad breakup. Once in her home town, Rhys’ demons start coming out, along with an unexpected surprise. This is a slow burn, enjoying with just being with someone you like. Oh, and kissing, lots of kissing. Enjoy!!

Fun easy read but great story and characters! Made me laugh lots and breaks your heart at times. More emphasis on the love story and romance than the spice in my opinion but overall a great read !
